What are you wearing today?!

bsomlo|1379459735|3522554 said:
baby nurse -- I just close the chain on any link in the necklace to shorten it. So this was shortened by 2 to 3 inches. I'm so glad I figured this out! Otherwise, the fireball would be lost under the front of the dress. 15 inches is probably best for me. But this way I can wear the chain full length over a turtleneck and it will fit around the neck and still be short. Win-win!

(We're still waiting to see close-ups of your beautiful fireball!)

Edit: I just measured and I actually shortened the chain by 4 inches by closing it through a link four inches from the end!

I did take those close-ups, bsomlo! I will forward them to you if you could please do me the favor of posting them again? TIA :wavey: !

Gah! It is killing me that I can't have a strand of multicolor Tahitians of my own. Someday!

LitGeek -- I absolutely love your necklace! Honestly, I feel tempted to ask Hisano to make one for me. It is just perfect. I love your date night picture!

Thank you bsomlo! I can't tell you how in love with this strand I am  The mix of white and silver looks amazing with just about everything in my wardrobe. Wearing it with the large wSS/diamond dangles sets off the white pearls in the strand beautifully. I love that I can wear this set with my casual clothes...jeans and boots for fall...as I hardly ever dress up. I have to say you definitely NEED one :naughty:

Thank you also baby nurse, bluebirrrd, mrs taylor :loopy: :wavey: baby nurse I am looking forward to those close-ups of your fireball :wavey:

Been a long time since I've worn my pearls. Wearing three strands of Tahitians and studs today.

Lovely strand, Litgeek! If there is one thread doing the best job advertising pearls and enabling purchases, this is the one :naughty:

Gorgeous

What is the size of that pearl and the ring?

DiaDiva -- how can you not be wearing those pearls all the time?!!! Gorgeous!

LitGeek -- are you giving me permission to have one made? For reals...(because I might just do it, so be honest).

ON BEHALF OF BABY NURSE:

Here are some close-ups of the lavender fireball I purchased from PP.

(I'll comment first -- BabyNurse, the close-ups are scrumptious!)

Thank you for posting these for me, bsomlo! And thank you for the compliment-- I'm so pleased with this pendant!

Today called for classic white pearls. Akoya 7-7.5 mm AAA pearl earrings and 8-9 mm freshwater AA+ pearl strand all with silver overtones from PP along with a silvery white baroque Tahitian drop from Kojima set in 14kt white gold by my local jeweler, G Allan in Minneapolis. Worn with my best white South Sea pearl ring, 14 mm pearl from Eastern Trade Winds set in 18 kt red gold and palladium with diamonds and moonstones by Stephen Vincent Design in Minneapolis. Felt great today. :appl: :wavey:

Of course :wink2: Isn't that why we are on this board, to be inspired and inspire others...or rather be enabled and enable others  I fell in love with 4ranch girl's lovely bracelets designed by Pattye and I am having a Tahitian one made up to go with my strand (with 4RG's permission of course). But, it is so sweet of you to ask!

Thanks baby monster! Your new fireball is just GORGEOUS    I was not expecting so many lovely overtones!

Fly Girl Wow! I love the combination of your fw strand with that beautiful white Tahitian :appl: :appl: :appl: And of course THAT ring

ok, I didn't think i'd ever want a pearl ring........i'm changing my mind!

Thanks, ladies. I should wear my pearls more. The ring is probably 14mm, I think. Bought it a long time back so don't quite remember. :cheeky:

Loving everything ladies. Such a great thread, it's a little dose of happy in my day. :appl:

Well, my order of cherry Tahitians arrived from Pearls of Joy yesterday, but something was lost in the translation. Kevin Canning was in Hong Kong at the time, and the pearls that I received are teal green with no hint of cherry. I spoke to Kevin and he agrees these are not the cherry ones. I will be sent another pair of actual cherry Tahitian pearls on Monday, and then I can decide which pair to keep.

In the meantime, I found that this pair works beautifully as drops on a pair of red gold earrings that I have. Today I paired them with my PP special rope of Tahitian and akoya pearls. The blue grey akoya coordinate well with my silver blue Sea of Cortez ring from Sarah at Kojima pearl. All worn with a well worn sweater and blue jeans. All in all, it was a good day. :))

I'm not sure I'd be able to give up that "wrong" pair! And I love that rope. I'm sorry I missed out on it. By the time I tried to buy only the shorter one was left. What a great combo!

Thanks, bsomlo. I tend to agree with you about not giving up this pair of green "cherries". They work as drops so beautifully with these earrings. A striking contrast of colors with the red gold.

I'm sure there will be more PP specials in your future. This rope is especially nice on my more casual days.

Fly Girl I think you most definitely NEED both the blue-greens and the cherry pearls :naughty: :naughty: :naughty: Those are the color of my Kamoka studs and they seem to match with everything. I love how well they mix in with your akoyas and other T's    What a fabulous mistake :loopy:

I have to agree. This was a fortuitous mistake.

My Cherry Tahitians arrived today from Pearls of Joy. These are lovely. They look awesome with my Kamoka aubergine "wonder" pendant and fit perfectly on my 14kt yellow gold hoops. You can see the green overtone on the cherry in the ear shot.

These cherry Tahitian earrings are what I intended to purchase in the first place. I expect I'll get a lot of use out of this set.

Now, to decide about whether to keep the "green cherries" as well. :wavey:

Fly Girl, your South Sea ring with moonstones and diamonds is really, really beautiful. Your Cherry Tahitians are lovely, I'm just not that into the lighter shade of green yet. Thanks for the neck, ear and hands shots! It's a treat to see these.

Edit: Are you still debating whether to keep the lighter shade of green Tahitians? Before Pearls of Joy sent these to you, which pair of earrings did you pair with your necklace? Do let us know what's your decision.
