Think I got lucky cos this was Golay's last strand and when Mr Panos wanted to order more, he was told that there is a bit of a waiting list cos new ones have to be made up and given the mix of pearls it needs a bit of time.

Thanks everyone for the compliments . It's one of my favorites strands.

Bsomlo, Catherine originally described it as deep lavender with flashes of gold, green and blue. It does have all of those colors but also lots of metallic surfaces which the camera tends to pick up. This picture was taken in bright northern light so metallic luster is intensified while the colors recess a bit. The pearls are 13-16mm.

My new rope! Actually just a longer strand, but I added an extender to make it more of a rope.
Fairly modest for a rope, but I made it myself. Freshwater white rice pearls with lavender rounds. All pearls from Pattye. Special thanks to Pattye for her support and encouragement while I was learning to string!

Wow,Kudos to you, Periwinklegirl, you caught on to the knotting fast and have done a fab job on that necklace!! Looks terrific on you and with the lavender sweater, and so nice you can wear the pearls doubled.

Periwinklegirl, great job on this strand. I'd say it qualifies as a rope and looks amazing on you.

I'm wearing metallic fw studs with coin pearl pendant. The studs look oval in this picture because of hair's reflection but the pearls are perfectly round.

Thanks so much. It's almost ridiculously easy once you've got the hang of it. I still have a little trouble finishing the strand nicely ( somehow I think you need three hands at the end), but otherwise I'm very pleased with the results. And I love being able to try out my own design ideas. Such fun!
