May I introduce my new misshapen Edisons from Pearlescence. They are verrryyy nice and lustre is . They are lovely; when I look them day light there shows lovely iridescence :lickout:. And so nice shape; middle pearl is like a little bird :D. Better photos when I will see sun again. Here snows now...

Yesterday I wore 4RGs 36" dyed freshwater rope along with my Kamoka Tahitian studs (sorry this photo does not show the beautiful colors of these pearls). I am having so much fun borrowing your ropes 4RG, but you were right in saying I would prefer Tahitians. At least now I know for sure and know what to save for :wavey: I think I need a Tahitian rope or maybe a lovely tin-cup :naughty:

Confection10 - They may be misshapen but they are beautiful! What a statement necklace! And your little birdy is so cute!

Thanks for sharing pix of your borrowed fw rope! I agree - having a Tahitian rope or tin cup is the way to go!

LitGeek; dark pearls are real eye catcher. I have 10mm hematite rope and they are so unusual. They are very heavy, so I wear them quite rarely. Tahitians; You definately need them :appl: :appl:

pkinnew,I just noticed there is another bird too. These have the best lustre of all my pearls, maybe. I planned to broke this necklace and mixed it with other shape pearls but now I'm not so sure anymore. These are so fabulous as they are now... :?

Confection -- just delightful! You have such a personal style -- I feel I'd know it was "you" if I ever came across you in person!

PP graduated white metallic triple with white metallic drops today:

Confection! Wow, such stunning Edisons! Lovely.

PP Tahitian set tonight (of course the reds and greens aren't showing in these bathroom shots with no natural light):

periwinklegirl; thanks! Haven't You wear pearls lately...? No one shots for awile... :D. Have You finished Your multicolor necklace yet?

bsomlo; Your whites are beautiful, but Your Tahitians are from heaven. Just looked You thread from December

Hi Confection,
Sorry I haven't posted any pics lately. I've been wearing plenty of pearls, mostly metallic whites, my metallic oval multicolour and my new smooth purple ripples! I just haven't had time to take pics or post much lately.
But I just picked up a whole batch of findings, and got some new Beader's Secret from Pattye (thanks so much), so I should be stringing away again soon. My lovely mixed multicolour is on hold until I can get one of the akoyas redrilled - I can't string the way it is now. And my jeweler closes over the Lunar New Year. But hopefully she'll be back soon (now that it's the year of the horse), and she can redrill it for me!
In the meantime I've got my golden south seas to string! Will post pics when I get them done.

LitGeek -- I know 4RG's dyed freshwater rope was meant to help you decide against them, but I keep thinking it looks so good on you! Maybe there is a place for such a rope in one's pearl wardrobe, too. But I know -- it takes away from pearl dollars towards what one really wants... but I do like that rope on you!

Aw, thank you :wavey: My dd really likes it too. I thought my Tahitian studs looked lovely with it. The colors are really pretty IRL, so it is much more striking on, but as you said it takes away pearl dollars from the one I really want...

And your Ts are so pretty! Is that strand 18"? I am thinking of having mine restrung with the two pearls I had removed for some diversity :geek: My mixed T/wSS strand is 16" and that one I would not change. Also swooning over that triple metallic and drops    You must feel like royalty with those on!

Thank you! I really like your tin cups (especially that wSS), are they 26"? I am thinking I would like something shorter than 36". Do you reach for them often?

Thanks! I agree, I definitely need some more Ts :naughty: Your new strand is lovely and has so much character, I would leave them as they are.

LitGeek -- my Tahitian strand started as 18", but Hisano chose two pearls to remove to use for the earrings. I asked that the necklace be restrung as 16". I've never actually measured it, I'll go do that later!

bsomlo - Love the luster on your Tahitians - especially the earrings!

LitGeek - I have 3 tin cups, all 36" (Tahitian, white SS and gold SS). I didn't post pictures of the gold SS one yet because one of my nieces made a huge tangled mess out of it and I will probably need to take it to a jeweler. I wear them often - long in the winter and doubled up in warmer months. I'm not an expert at layering like Confection10 ( :wavey: ) but I'm going to try!

LitGeek -- FYI, I just measured my Tahitian strand and it is 16.5" including the clasp. My favorite length is the 15.5" to 16.5" length on me (a little longer for large pearls, like souffles are large ripples).

Thanks for checking :wavey:

periwinklegirl, hope You get finished Your gSs soon. I'm waiting here desperately :loopy:. My pearls have arrived but beads missing yet. I ordered gold rolled beads from UK and they will propably arrive this week. If someone knows "the best" place to purchase them, will You share Your knowledge? Please :)

LitGeek, thanks! It's lovely the way it is. And no changing coming to it :wavey:

pkinnew, I'm blushing :P . Many thanks for Your compliment. It's honor to get it!

Today white selfmade (my first!) earrings and white with pinks

"Self-made". Good for you!!!

Yeah, good for me! I knotted yesterday my first rope and today a shorter one. Both tin cup style. Smaller pearls I purchaced from Pattye and bigger ones from Ebay. All white!

Dear pearl friends; sweat and tears is not drained but the sheer joy of success

The shortest is my first pearls ever (last October) and of course something lavender (CC) needed when layering properly a la style by Minna

periwinklegirl  :lickout: :loopy: 8-) !! I love them! Own thread, please, and a lot of photos!

And a car shot.

Confection10 - I am so impressed with your first 2 projects! Great job on the ropes - I love them! And the earrings are lovely too!! Now that you're hooked I guess we can look forward to lots of new layering from you? Can't wait!

periwinklegirl - Your goldens are beautiful! Very elegant!

Confection10 -- I am really enjoying your layering! You have such a personal, unique way of styling your pearls. I like the necklace with the few large pearls mixed in. The layering is delicious on you.

I'm loving the layering as well, Confection. They're all beautiful but this last set is gorgeous!

Periwinklegirl, your golden SS strand is lovely! It's so pretty with your skin tone and is great with that color top!

pkinnew, thank You! Yes, I think You will see more in future. I have totally obsessed to pearls :twirl:

bsomlo; You are always so kind! Thank You :wavey:

baby nurse, thanks! Designing isn't easy, there is so many nice models available. But I like this style too :wavey:

Periwinklegirl -- they look like nuggets of gold. Enjoy them and wear your new necklace in health!

Thanks everyone!

IRL they are such a deep rich gold that they are making reconsider yellow gold of a decade of white-metal only!

Will take some better pics when I next have a chance.

As soon as I put them on I immediately began scheming for a golden SS bracelet!

I think I might take a page out of Renwea's book and do a tin cup style with golden wire. The blue akoya bracelet was lovely!
