What are you wearing today?!

Yeah, good for me! I knotted yesterday my first rope and today a shorter one. Both tin cup style. Smaller pearls I purchaced from Pattye and bigger ones from Ebay. All white!

Dear pearl friends; sweat and tears is not drained but the sheer joy of success

The shortest is my first pearls ever (last October) and of course something lavender (CC) needed when layering properly a la style by Minna

Confection! Congratulations! That's great. They look great! :appl: :appl: :appl:

What size are the pearls in the longer rope?

And love the earrings! 8mm? 9?

How did you find the stringing? Was it difficult?
I've redone my first attempt already.

Warning: once you start making your own strands, it's hard to stop!
(It's more addictive than buying ready-made strands!).

As Pattye so elegantly put it, pearl designers need a wide range of pearls types and colours on hand! :)

Here are my new Maluku silvery white south sea earrings!
Please excuse the temp settings (I'm out of practice at wire loops!), but I was so excited to finally get the pearls that I had to try them on!

I got these to go with my mixed SS-akoya-keshi strand (still unstrung due to a drilling issue :(( ).

Oh, and they're from The Merry Bead - on sale :) (and I love them! Thanks so much Tammy).

Please excuse how red my ears look! (It's the cold - unseasonal wind chill here tonight! Coldest weather I've ever had on the West Coast! Drat that polar vortex!).

And since you can't really see the colour in my pics, here's the glamour shot from Etsy.

I'm still think how to best describe the lustre on these south seas. Much more silky looking than the sharp lustre of akoyas. And with real depth. Like they are frosted instead of mirror-shine buffed.

_14566.jpg

And my golden akoya studs (glued by me), that are, somewhat surprisingly, a good enough match to wear with my golden SS strand until I get the drops set, (I'm still looking at setting options).

_14567.jpg

And this is how I keep my pretties organized!

_14568.jpg

Oops, let's try that again!

Showing off my PP ripples again. I still get amazed by its colours and how well they photograph, unlike Tahitians which are so hard to photograph.
Periwinkle girl, I like the way you store your pearls. So much more organized. Where did you get the white shelves from?

Confection 10- congrats on stringing your pearls! Looks very good for the first attempt.:appl: stringing gave me a sense of achievement when I finally did mine, albeit the result of that first attempt was less than satisfactory.

Periwinkle girl, your golden SS are pretty. I personally love drops too

periwinklegirl - Your white SS and gold Akoya pearls are outstanding! They definitely fit in with the rest of your pearl collection. I look forward to seeing "final" settings! And I like your storage technique. Right now I use jewelry rolls so I can see them all at once (except for my more treasured pieces). You're so organized!

YC - Keep showing us your ripples - they are so colorful!!!

YC, lovely ripples!

It's a chocolate box!
My sister uses one to keep her foreign currencies in, I use mine for pearls.
Here it is with chocolates still in it.

YC, I adore your PP ripples. They are cousins, if not sisters, to my PP champagne/lavender ripples. I wore the same ones today!

Periwinkle girl- artisan du chocolat? :lickout: their chocolates r divine..... I only get to taste their products once a year when my boss goes to UK for his yearly vacation and brings some back for us to share

Bsomio, your champagne ripples inspired me to take the plunge when I saw them on PP site. After purchasing those ripples, I understood why some of you, including you Bsomio, buy several strands of the "same thing" (to the uninitiated)

I'm golden today. It seemed that this casual Friday outfit needed a rope of pearls. I decided to wear my PP free form baroque goldens end-to-end. Love being able to look down and see them. Photo taken on yet another cold winter sunrise.

periwinklegirl, thanks! Little white roundels are about 8-8.5, bigger ones 11-12 and ovals 9-10mm. Earrings are 11mm.what size is Your goldens and Malukus? They are lovely . And I like Your boxes for pearls. Very nice!

Stringing wasn't difficult. I started with small pearls which seem to be much easier to knot than larger ones ( look at
my photos  ). Yes, I have noticed I suffer somekind of pearl mania now; there is coming several strands... , so maybe designing is easier then :wavey:

YC, thanks! I must admit, there is a couple of pearl little loose, but I accept it and fix it later if it disturbs me too much. Every new strand goes better than previous, I hope :appl: . I love Your ripples. Amazing colour :lickout:.

Here is my medicine against for itch Tahitians made to me. They are from Pearlescence too. And I must say; I'm in love    . They are between 11 and little bit under 14mm, if I remember correct. Earrind are drops, about 12mm.
Wendy is quite nice person and took more photos to get better idea of colour. This is temporarily neclace and I will reknot it later; I will try tiny gold filled beads between pearls. And of course something nice to layer with T's is coming too :naughty:

Confection10 - Those T's look amazing!!! I'm hoping your CC's still get worn once you get those babies around your neck. :naughty:

My wire-wrapping skills are no better. I figure that people will be looking at the pearls, and not the wires. :loopy:

The story of my goldens is here in this thread. I'll repeat the neck shot from the fifth page, which shows better how pretty they are. Thank you, all, for your kind words.
