What do we think about cologne for men?

I'm not really a fan of cologne on men. I like subtle perfumes on women, but men's cologne hasn't appealed to me since high school, when this boy I really liked wore Acqua di Gio. DH never wears cologne, which is fine with me. I prefer just a clean smell or none at all.

Kenny, I have noticed that a lot of people smell like fabric softener sheets. Luckily for me, I love the smell of those things.

Have you noticed how many people smell like those powerful fabric softener sheets?

Yes, and I hate them. I won't even waste time equivocating about it. I hate all that perfumed chemical stuff that's supposed to make your laundry "clean." It does no such thing.

It has to be very soft (like ladies perfume) if not it makes me sneeze. My husband wears (when we're going out) CK one and I love this scent on him. It's so soft but masculine

I'm not a fan, but then I don't like perfume in general. I hate sitting next to someone in a meeting and being bothered by perfume/cologne for a whole hour.

Love the stuff...

DH wears Aqua di Parma's 'Colonia Assoluta' or Herme's 'Rocabar' both of which I adore.

I don't know many men in the UK or in Italy who don't wear cologne of some kind...

Subtle. I must get really close to smell it. Which, of course, ups the 'sexy'. :naughty:

I like it on men. But not the cheapish fake scents.

Sometimes when I'm at home I'll put a ton on- because I can :) but if I am going to a place where I know I'll be in direct contact with people, or holding a baby, around elderly people... or stuff like that, I will either not wear any perfume, but put it on quite a while before I leave so that the scent is a little calmer.

I will admit though, regardless of price, I used to have a thing for armani acqua di gio, but body chemistry plays such a roll in how colognes and perfumes react on your skin that it doesn't always smell great. DH can not wear this scent- it smells weird on him

I agree...my ex bought a bottle of Neo (?) It seemed quite light and fresh in the store, but it smelled awful on him. Mind you, he always used about 3 sprays no matter how many time I told him he was overdoing it. I felt so sorry for the guys who had to drive in his truck with him all day.

I like Clinique Happy for men, and Romance is also quite nice on the right guy.

Hi Danny! :wavey:

Update: Armani day! :appl:

Front runner so far, with a 9.1, but I have high hopes for tomorrow's YSL!

At the end of the day, perfume/cologne is like religion. Use it for your own personal satisfaction, but please don't hit me over the head with it.

HI:

I love them and buy them all the time for my DH. Mostly Creed, as thees are his favs.

cheers--Sharon

Another Creed fan here :wavey:

Same here - I like Creed.

I like cologne on men depending on the smell and amount. If he smells drenched in it - no thanks.

I LOVE cologne on men, and is a must for me. C knows this, and generally wears it when we go out for our date nights. I do not like cheap cologne, i personally am obessed with perfume, and own over 15 bottles myself, and expensive stuff, so i do not like cheap, knock off brand for me, or him. I love the Dior scent for men, along with Armani. I usually buy C a nice expensive bottle for christmas or his birthday. Like others have mention, your own body chemistry makes a difference on whether the scent mixes well with your own natural scent, but oddly, i love the scent of C without his cologne, just his natural skin, it lets me know im home. So Yes, i love Cologne for men, but when at home, i want skin with no added scent, just want the good Lord gave him.

I love it when my husband wears just a little - he has two, Acqua di Gio and Versace Homme, and something about him reacts with each of them and they smell AMAAAAZING on him. But most of the time he never wears anything and still smells darn good!!!

Im not a fan of cologne on men or perfume on women either. Ever since I quit smoking a few years back, my sense of smell is more sensitive (or maybe it just seems like it), and cologne/perfume just kills me. It just smells "fake" to me, and I prefer natural scents.
