Lol, this is what I was thinking. This isn't the first time this has happened, and it usually takes several weeks to come back. After a month or so I'd start to worry but it hasn't been that long yet.

As I remember the story the technical side is ran by someone with a full time job and is doing it in his spare time.
A week or 2 or 3 if an upgrade goes sideways would not be unusual for that situation.
FB and other big sites employs thousands of people whose job it is to keep the site up vs 1 person who also works a full time job.
You can not really compare them.

During the revamp, I honestly hope they write in a tip jar. I would be so pleased to show my gratitude for their time. I hope that doesn't come off wrong. Not bribery, but a "thanks".

What a great idea!! I also am so grateful to have a place to sell that knowledgeable buyers frequent and doesnt rip me off (yes, i mean you, ebay).
I remain positive that loupetroop will be back. If it wasnt, wouldnt we just see a "page removed" message? Weren't they just down a while ago and used the same message, "brb" and "we are deploying a new version", and they did come back? Maybe there is an issue with this newer version? I am hopeful, bc i love loupetroop so much!!

Diamond Bistro should be named Moissanite Bistro. It's okay, but prefer to stick around LoupeTroop because I know more people. I prefer to stick with PSers I know. Less risky..

I was buying & selling on DB long before LT came along ... have had only good experiences ... not sure what is going on these days on DB re: Admin involvement and processing new users, but I'm still able to log in ... however I don't get email notification of new DB messages so have to remember to log into DB and check that every once in a while ... some people prefer to respond via DB messaging even though my DB listings include my email.
LT is good and many users list on both LT and DB, including PSers.
I have noticed some PSers prefer to only use LT ... not sure why

I have noticed that as well. And yes I saw an email message that did not get forwarded to me. LT messaging is quirky too though. One of the things about DB is all the ads that you have to close while you are navigating the site.

I've bought things, but not sold them, on DB and had no problem whatsoever, BUT it's been at least a couple years since - I can't speak to lately. I do know that the company responsible for the site - Better Than Diamonds, which makes and sells Takara lab diamonds and Amora Gems - is, in my personal opinion, not particularly well-run in terms of keeping their website up-to-date, keeping inventory up, responding to customers, keeping up with restocks when they promise them, etc. (That said, the only product I've bought from them is an Amora Gem that is quite lovely, so my beef is more with management than quality of product.) They've said before that DB doesn't earn them any revenue, and they often have to consider whether or not they can afford to keep it going, so I think it's pretty much last on their list of concerns to attend to. Based on that and the fact that they can't seem to keep up with managing their site and communications around what DOES make them money, I have no expectation that DB is going to get any better.

I've tried to reach out via the forum by posting in the appropriate place, directly through the contact us feature on DB and nothing. I needed to reset my password but am not getting a verification email. Also tried to set up a new account, the same problem. Not sure what is going on with them.

I DM'ed them asking if they owned DB, they responded the next day saying they did. I then asked if they could fix their email verification system because new users can't sign up and existing users who've forgotten their PWs can't log in. They haven't responded.
If you want, you could also try DM'ing them on their FB Page. More complaints may push them into action.

try a screen capture of your photo, that typically saves at way lower resolution

I’ve used picresize.com with success. I also find uploading on a laptop, as opposed to a phone, works much better.

This is a lame workaround suggestion.
try emailing it to yourself - you get to choose the size of your attachments.
Hi, I got a response back from diamond bistro’s fb messenger. Good news, they said they’ll fix it tomorrow. Hope they carry through!
