The dress is not necessary (if ya know what I mean), and just hold the glass in your left hand. That is, if you can lift it with that big ol rock sittin on it.

Ok! Take one large washed watermelon, cut a small hole in the top and scoop out 2 spoons of flesh. Then pour in as much champage as you can. Leave to marinate for a day, then saturate again. To serve, cut into chunks and don''t drive if you are eating it!

Do you keep it in the fridge to saturate?

I like melon and port as well.

I don''t really drink at all - but I make the occasional exception!

Now I really wish I was going to Vegas!
39.gif
I think it sounds way too fun! On that day I will sit in my office and drink a cocktail while reading PS and wondering where everyone else is!

ETA: I have a real question too... I know that there is a "rule" about making sure your RHR is no bigger than your e-ring, so as not to detract from the star of the show... I sort of agree with this, although I don't typically care about rules
3.gif
Unfortunately for me, my e-ring is not very large (yet!
2.gif
), so how can I wear a cocktail ring? I really really love colored gems but they look best when they are larger, and I looooooove larger rings... so what is a girl to do?? How can I wear a large gemstone cocktail ring and have it compliment my e-ring, not distract?

Who made that "rule" up? That would be mighty hard to do, since a true cocktail ring should be 3 cts. or more. I dun think most of us are sporting Erings that big!

In mho, fancies can definitely be larger (maybe much) than a diamond, and still not take away from it.

You can keep it in the fridge if you want, or just a cool place is fine for the marinading!
31.gif
I am also partial to a little port on occasion....For medicinal purposes
9.gif

Also with the watermelon, you can use vodka if you prefer.

I don''t know where I read it... I guess I am thinking the issue might arise not with the full-on cocktail size (3ct) and more with a RHR that is noticably larger but not sooooooo large that comparing it to one''s e-ring becomes moot. A cocktail-sized RHR would be a totally different beastie than my .80ct e-ring... or even than a 1.5ct e-ring! But what about a RHR that is more like 1.5ct? Would that detract from my modest e-ring? Does it matter?

Pandora, everything goes with that shade of green! But I see your point. Do you ever wear RHR, cocktail sized or not...?

I''m not a big wearer of jewellery except my ''round things''. I love to look at it, I like to have it in my jewellery box, I''d love to be able to collect beautiful antique pieces but I find it uncomfortable to wear! Sacrilege round here I know
38.gif
Bad, bad Pandora!

It took me ages to get used to wearing my e-ring, and although I take it off when I get home because it needs babying, I probably would anyway.

FI is giving me some jewellery as a wedding gift and I will wear them very occasionally - they''re sphene''s son I need to be very careful with them.

One day I''d like an OEC RHR though, and that I will wear.

No, I honestly don''t think it does.

But back to the original topic...not all of us will have 3 ct. cocktail rings. I have a sapphire and diamond ring that could count as one but I think the center stone is around 2.5 cts.

I agree DS, very puzzling comments from some quarters.

As for rings, I think that 3 - 5 ct. is very large... don't get me wrong, I love those honkers around PS and would love one! But in my lifestyle and social circle, if I want to rock a cocktail ring on a regular basis (and why waste a beautiful ring??) then it really has to be under 3ct. Maybe more like 2 - 2.5ct. So although the size would be smaller, if the setting had pave, or a split shank etc etc etc, I guess I can still qualify it as a cocktail ring!

Are cocktail rings ever three-stone rings? Or are they typically one big stone do you think...

I think this Ritani looks like a three-stone cocktail ring, and may I add, I loooove it! I am fantasizing about having a collection of rings to wear solo on my left-hand ring finger, since I prefer wearing only one ring (so much more comfortable)... this may be in my future...

Gorgeous Dreamer! That's exactly what I do--Switch around and wear only on my left hand ring finger. I don't like the feel of rings on my right hand.

Linda

That is a very pretty ring, DD! Honestly, the only other ring I'd really like to have is a three stone sapphire and diamond ring set by Leon. And with the prices I have seen on sapphires, I am sure it will be under 3 cts.!!!!

Oh, and I really prefer wearing rings on just my left ring finger, too.

So if we''re a coven... do we get costumes? Or just prance around naked under the stars? I''m really good with either... as long as I get to wear a cool HAT.
