Hahahaa!

"So why don''t you call me a cab."
"Hey man, you''re a cab."

And the waffleing! "I''ll have my with EXTRA butter!"

I love Miracle on 34th Street, and all the old Claymation movies.

Emmet Otter''s Jug Band Christmas is hands down my favorite...

You know, it took me a very long time to find a Christmas movie that I just couldn''t get enough of. For a long time I loved Prancer (the movie about the lost reindeer)... but ever since The Polar Express came out.... that''s it.... I watch it every year... and own the soundtrack.

1) ELF
2) A Muppets Christmas Carol (xmas eve tradition)
3) Bad Santa
4) Its a wonderful life
5) A Miracle on 34th Street (CLASSIC)
and 6) SCROOGED!

Holy cow, I haven''t seen or heard of that movie in YEARS! I''ll have to buy it, I love anything muppet-related and old school.

I was wondering if anyone else would mention Prancer! That movie reminds me so much of childhood Christmases, we used to watch it every single Christmas eve.

I also love Love Actually, the Family Stone, and It''s a Wonderful Life. I''m getting so excited for the post-thanksgiving days when I will allow myself to get in the holiday spirit!!

I''d have to say Love Actually. I don''t know why, but I love that movie! Even DH likes it and we watch it every year around Nov/Dec. For actual movies about Christmas, I love Charlie Brown and Elf the best I think.

The Ref
We're No Angels (1955)
The Christmas Toy (Basically the Jim Henson movie that Toy Story was ripped off from)
Miracle on 34th Street (1947)
The Family Man
Die Hard
Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas (The cartoon, not the Jim Carey Movie)
White Christmas

LOL--I remember going to see Family Stone in the theatres, thinking I'd be in for a nice heartwarming movie. My friend and I walked out and were like "WTF--we were expecting feel good Christmas, not cancer!"

So I know I''m a bit odd but I''ve never been a huge fan of Christmas Story, Its a Wonderful Life, or Miracle on 34th Street. I mean I''ve seen them all and enjoyed them but really don''t have any desire to watch them annually. Weird, I know.

However my favs currently are Jim Carrey as the Grinch and Muppet''s Christmas Carol. Now those I could watch annually and they both have awesome soundtracks too that are part of my Christmas cd repertoire.

Nat''l Lampoon''s, and A Christmas Story. I can''t decide which one''s my actual ''favorite''. DH LOVES A Christmas Story - I got him a Ralphie bobblehead one year.

I also love Claymation Christmas, and Garfield''s Christmas Special. They came out in the 80''s, I think. I have the DVD''s, and my brother and I watch them every year!

haha... DH & I just moved. Some of the boxes were marked ''fragile''. Neither of us will pronounce it correctly - it is ALWAYS Fra-gee-lay! lol
you have claymation christmas and garfield on dvd?!?! where did you find them? my sister and i watched those every christmas growing up, but unfortunately they (along with a lot of other holiday specials like and old sesame street one and riders in the sky) were recorded on beta.

i''d be estatic if i could see my favorite singing camels and the bell choir under the direction of quasimodo again

and christmas with dot boy is just that much more special

and yes they came out in the 80s. i think there was even a troll chrismas special, and i know there was a frraggle rock one

My bro found them on amazon... they still have them!

You can also you tube them for immediate gratification! haha

I always fast-forwarded through the ''Joy to the World'' bit... it was so boring compared to the others!

lol... "Herb, it''s WASSLE, not WADDLE!"

My favorite part of the Garfield Special is when they plug in the tree... "OOOOOOOOOOOOHHH"

You''re not the only one. I never "got" that one.

Ok, what about the ice-skating walruses with the Penguins for angels we have heard on high??

I just bought that claymation movie and Emmit Otter for two special boys.
I also loved (and cried during) Small One - the boy who goes to sell his donkey at the market but then ends up selling it to two special travelers
I also loved One Magic Christmas with Mary Steenburgen

I''m soooo glad I read this topic! I just went to amazon and bought 2 copies each of the claymation christmas and garfield christmas. I can''t wait to watch them and give them to my older brother as part of his gift. we still laugh histerically about the claymation one, and still sing the garfield song:

"we''ll have a good old fashioned christmas, down on the farm, a little over eatin'' never did you any harm. Let''s open up the presents, eat a turkey or two, (insert yodeling here)!"

Love Actually and Elf!

miracle on 34th st FOR SURE!

Sooocool and I are on the same page on this one! But I''m gonna need to add the clay movies with Jack Frost in it and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman! Saw them as a child and I love them even now!

Home Alone
Christmas Story (I am also guilty of watching the marathon for hours!!)
How the Grinch stole Christmas (the cartoon)

Haha!! I love the song too! It''s so in my head now! lol
I want that gift-giving machine for Christmas! "Gimme, gimme, gimme!"

Cammy, the walrus one is funny, too (poor penguins)! I also like "Oh Christmas Tree"... the effects are still interesting, even to this day, where everything is CGI. It makes you appreciate it that much more.

I still have the VHS, too. Last year we watched that one first... mainly for the commercials! haha

I haven''t seen some of the movies on this thread. Thanks for the ideas, everyone! I''m gonna go rent some... I remember loving Prancer, but I haven''t seen it in so long.

Muppet Christmas Carol.

I watch it every year on Christmas Eve. We''re going to be in England this year for Christmas, so I made my DH promise he''d find it online somewhere so I can still watch it!
