What makes you happy?

Ooooh! I just thought of another one--the moment when my house smells like summer again. Anyone know what I''m talking about?

After the long, cold Chicago winter everything kind of slowly thaws, the flowers start to peak out, and then one day it just starts to smell like summer again. I LOVE it!

Haven, I know EXACTLY what you mean. My favorite summer smells are cut grass (intermingled with the smell of a BBQ) and the 10 or 20 minutes right before it''s about to start pouring rain. Those are absolute bliss for me.

Right now what makes me happy:

-Being able to get out of the house and do anything fun and leisurely with DH, whether it''s playing catch in our front yard, walking to the park to watch the ducks, going to the art museum, etc. Ohhh, but staying in on a Sunday and playing board games all day also makes me supremely happy.

-Having my parents stay the weekend at my house - I love them so much, but there''s something about having them to my home and being able to make meals for them and hang out with them in the home DH and I have made that is so much better than visiting them back home.

-Reading in bed with DH, with our cats curled up at our feet, and I''m especially happy in that moment where I decide I''m too tired to keep reading and I curl up with him, so he has to balance the book on my shoulder.

-Walking out of my evening class and seeing that the sun is still in the sky

-Cooking or drawing or re-arranging things in my home - doing any task where I need to be creative and uses my senses.

Today I am happy about spending time with my boyfriend after he was gone all weekend. I''m happy that I''m still staying motivated to lose weight. I''m happy that I''ve started taking steps towards a healthier me. I''m happy that my family and friends are all healthy and safe. I''m happy that I''m not as screwed up as some people. I''m happy that my puppy and I are spending quality time together in the mornings. I''m happy that the weather has been so nice, the birds are singing and I get to see bunny rabbits every day. I''m happy there are baby horses in the world still. I''m happy that our flowers are so vibrantly colored this year. I''m happy about watermelon, and cantaloupe, strawberries, and sweet potatoes, and all things fresh and home grown. I''m happy to have fresh eggs. I''m happy I got blueberry bushes. I''m happy that I have a new car with AC in such a hot summer, and that I have an ipod to work out to. I''m happy I got to see some of my friends this weekend. I''m happy SO brought me a 4-wheeler to ride. I''m happy my horses are healthy. I''m happy to be around. I''m just happy

Sunshine, blue skies, soft breezes

Sunsets
My cat (and any sweet kitty)
The deer in our neighborhood
Tex-Mex food
Starbucks iced tea
Curling up with a great book
Turner Classic Movies
Good hair days (amen to that SDL!)
My sweet hubby and his ability to make me laugh like no one else can

Another reason I''m doin the happy dance tonight..... The school that my children attend was up for closure, and for no good reason

We were waiting for the school board to vote if their school would be closed next year. The board voted to not close it!!!!! And with good reason. Why close a highly performing school!!!!

I''m such a post killer.....I swear.

I bought some new lotions from B&Bodyworks today and new scents make me happy
