Neil''s post got me thinking. It really is important to "stop and smell the roses", yet as we all know, and that experiment points out to a certain degree, many times, quite possibly more often than not, we don''t. What popped in my mind as I read that post, and lingered afterwards, was one "rose" I without a doubt, never fail to stop for. It''s when a flock of geese fly over. We are on their flight path, and always see them coming and going. This last fall, I think I saw the biggest bunch ever, the sky was just dark with them, all happily honking on their way to a winter getaway.
I have always loved watching them fly over in that awesome V formation, which is by the way, not random, but actually with purpose, (for those that may not be aware). They also remind me of my dad, who was a hunter. I always feel closer to him now when watching geese.
At any rate, I have been known to practically break my neck (literally) running out to see them fly over, and I will stand there, not only until the last bird is out of sight, but until the honking fades altogether.
So I thought it would be fun, and interesting to hear about some of your "roses". Please share!
