What type of person would wear these rings?

I thought I was set on the type of ring I wanted, but then I came across two beauties that didn't fit the mold of what I normally like.

My style is more #2 and #3.

#4 caught my eye, but I wonder if I just LIKE it, even though its not me (simple lines, classic). I wonder if it is too "young" for me - I'm 37 getting engaged.

I'm also considering #1, instead of a "big center stone engagement ring." My job is very DontStandOut, and I wonder if That is why I am considering such an unassuming ring.

People make a lot of assumptions about our personal lives based on our adornments. I invite you to imagine who would wear any of the rings in this collage (age, hobbies, lifestyle, etc.)20201209_210933.jpg

Emerald cuts represent elegance in my opinion. I drool over emerald cuts and every so often wonder why I didn’t go emerald. My favorite is 3! Then 2! I have been craving 1 for a rhr.

Yes! I love 3, then 2. You could also have a version of 1 to wear to work or on more casual occasions, and wear as a right hand ring on other occasions.

Yes, I adore EC too. Too bad I dunno how to pick a good one.

I’m not sure I could answer who would wear what but let me tell you.
I have rings in my jewelry box that 100% seem like they’re worn by completely different women. I don’t think it’s anyone’s job to tell themselves they don’t like something because it’s not “who they are”
If it wasn’t you you wouldn’t like it :)

Very good way to say it! I think that's is what will end up with my jewelry box :)

Why would I want to judge someone by what kind of bling they have?
That makes no sense.

Certianly not the nicest thing, but people do it all the time... on things from clothing, vehicles, and hair styles to jewelry.

I actually like all 4 rings, in varying amounts! So I agree that what you like doesn’t have to necessarily be cohesive or consistent. I think all 4 rings read “classic” to me so they’re not necessarily very different from each other. I’d rank them 2, 1, 4 and 3 in that order of preference, but that doesn’t imply that I don’t like 3 (I’m just not a huge fan of 3 stone rings). 1 is more of an index ring to me, and 4 would make a lovely RHR (especially because of the colour - makes it hard to match everything), but I wouldn’t want either as my main e-ring.

of the 4 images. i greatly favour the ring in image #2. i don't know what sort of person would wear these rings. i do wear a ring most similar to image #2

somewhere, on the forum, i came across how certain personality types favour certain make/cut of diamonds. it was a more technical thread but there was a pictorial diagram that indicated this concept very clearly ...

#3 for me, however, I would bezel set the stones.

DK :))

this is why

this is why people sux
Yes ☹ But I also can't figure out how to edit my original post.
My intent was to be a bit more fun than judgey; along the lines of

"The colored stone ring, I imagine on a carefree woman in her 20s and 30s, but I don't see it on a 85 year old woman from old money family, unless she was a whippersnapper"

Not the super judgy that some people do unfortunately

Thanks for sharing, THIS is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm going to dig to find this.

I love #3 and #2. Classic and understated elegance and sophistication IMO.
If I could have more than one ER I probably would choose an antique emerald diamond ring. Set like #2 or #3.

To all who saw the Personality Type / Shape Preference post above and will go looking for it - it might be this one (also posting for my own reference)

 So, I did these for fun and what they told me I matched with are all the last shapes and styles I'd pick. Either they're wrong, or I've been lying to myself!

I like #1, #2 and #3.

I have a video of a ring similar to your #1. This might help you visualize it on. The one I'm wearing has 7 diamonds instead of 6 and the setting has less metal showing:

Both pieces are amazing. Did you get the band?

I picture the wearer of rings 1-3 to be someone in their 30's or older. A woman not swayed by round brilliant diamond marketing who is more comfortable choosing what he/she likes instead of what their peers may be wearing.

I picture the wearer of #4 to be a colored gem lover who appreciates the beauty of a warm colored gemstone and wants the best of both worlds. A beautiful warm, sparkly stone with the durability of a diamond.

#2 and #3 are for those who would appreciate understated elegance.

#1 is for those who like to be known as unconventional, confident and like to show off.

#4 is for ladies in shows such as Real Housewives of whatever.

Personal opinion and all that.

DK :))

The issue I have with such quizzes is that, they all centered around ERs and weddings, which does not apply to me personally.

Hi. No I didn't purchase the band. I did really like it though. The day I took the video I was just gathering info on bands. I do really like the style of a 5 or 7 stone with emerald cuts, so its on my wish list for the future. Basically its a half eternity band.

1-3 strike me as very classic. If I saw someone with #4 IRL I’d think they’re a little more unique since it’s not as common to have a colored diamond in my peer group.

But between all 4 I’d just think the wearer was fabulous. They’re all great choices. Never too young or old for any.

One of my classmates in college (before I was married but possibly after I was engaged... can’t remember) had a 3 stone emerald cut diamond (or other clear stone) ring and I thought it was the best thing ever. I texted my friend about it after I left our group project.
