I get to wear my dream dress which I''m super excited about! It''s the Melissa Sweet Fern...I discovered it while I was still lurking on PS last summer (and about 7 months before getting engaged) and bought it pre-owned through Craigslist. Link to my thread in BWW.

Here is the Moniquw Lhuillier: Claire on oncewed.com. It is very similar to your "dream dresses" . Maybe this is obtainable for someone on PS!

oooooh. all so pretty. Can I play? My dream Monique Lhuillier...and my mom surprised me with it!!! (slightly modified from the picture)

I''m not quite sure who made this dress or if it''s still available since these two got married a longggg time ago.. but I want something exactly like her dress...

no lace
no puffyness
no beading

.... just a simple non-embellished satin/silk sheath.

So then what kind of dress DO you want Elle?

Well I like the style of this one by Nicole Miller, but not necessarily the fabric.

I dig this one, too. Jim Hjelm

would you believe that i haven''t picked out one yet?
not even a style!!

although i LOVE Winks Elf''s dress. I might try to wear my moms if i can get it professionally cleaned, dyed ivory and hemmed.

sammy- at this risk of sounding inappropriate......you have an awesome rack missy!! LOL

Oooooh- sooo pretty! I love anything and everything Nicole Miller. Her wedding dresses make me want to have a beach wedding so badly as they seem so perfect and romantic.

I know! When I browse for wedding dresses, I tend to hit up the "Destination Wedding" section. I''m not having a DW, but I like the styles. I''m a simple girl style-wise.

You''re right, we do have similar taste.

So far this is the closest I''ve found to my ideal. But I''ve got to be honest. I''m in love with like 10825028201832 dresses currently. But I have this recurring dream of a garden wedding where I''m in a dress that has fitted top with lace, and the bottom has these whispy parts that flow as I walk......

If I had a smaller chest, I''d totally be into the types of dresses Namaste, elle, and Bia are talking about...I''m very much a simple gal except I didn''t want a satin-y fabric...and I''d love to go bra-less too (ahem...Bia!).

Namaste that dress was by Narcisco Rodriguez!

SunnyD: I see.. i''m not the most knowledgeable person about dresses. Thanks for clearing up my question! I hope their 2008 styles will be a little cheaper... isn''t pronovias pretty expensive? I''ve tried searches for prices but that''s another thing i''m not so good at! ha
No prob!
2.gif
I don''t think they''re that expensive, but I was seriously considering selling a kidney for my Lazaro at $4000.

I also got mine 1/2 off because it was a 2007 and they were clearing out for the new styles. So you can always get lucky!

Mine was originally $1579, and it''s a lace-fest. If you look at preownedweddingdresses.com at the Pronovias section, you can get an idea because the brides list the price they paid for it.

I am not a fan of white, and my wedding will be anything but traditional. THIS is my dream dress. I''m 5''3" so I doubt I could pull it off.

If this dress came in chocolate/white instead of red/white, I''d sell my soul for it. It''s Maggie Sottero as well.

I love this Pnina. This dress would be the only reason I buy from Kleinfeld''s.

Also this Jim Hjelm!

I think this Monique Lhuillier is my dream dress. I love the sash and the lace, but would probably want it in white.

I hate 'stuff'

Just lurking over here today (can you tell it's finals week?!?!) and saw this. Elle, I am totally with you, girl. And I love the two dresses you posted.

I am custom-designing my gown cause I can't find anything that quite fits the bill (love the DW gowns but getting married in a cathedral with a ballroom reception, and need something a bit more substantial). I just posted new sketches on BWW - your input is greatly appreciated! Especially since you "get" michigan winters (wedding is in Jan.)

Also, side note, aren't you graduating this year from EMU??

ETA: Sorry for the total thread jack! Back to posting pretty dresses!

My dream dress would probably be this Anne Barge--I like simple designs too, but with just an extra little something. I want bell or poet sleeves on my dress, although if I was miraculously able to get this dress, I don''t think I want to mess with it, so I''d probably look for some sort of antique-y shawl to go with it.
