SOOO glad to see so many resuced pets out there. We rescued ours back when he was about 6 months old and we lived in DC. He's now a happy (fairly) well adjusted Chicago city dog... now if we can only get him over his overwhelming fear of large trucks and buses we'd have much better walks.
Our sweet boy Zeke had been in 3 homes already by the time he was 6 months old. We was skin and bones when we got him and very skittish. Original owners claim he's part Boxer and part Lab, but I am certain that he is a lab/pit bull mix, as is our vet. Either way, he's a sweet heart, a bed hog, an ice cream whore and he gives the best kisses in the world.
I love this thread just as much as the show me the ring thread... keep them coming.
OH MY GOD...Are you people trying to KILL ME???? These sweet babies just drive me crazy....I want to give big kisses to them all. Well, I'm going to have to put some cat pictures up here....lol....
Here's my kitty Esme. We rescued her from the shelter at 4 months. She's the quirkiest cat I've ever seen. She doesn't meow, but she's great at squeaking (close your eyes and you'd think we had a monkey in the house). She also loves to sleep curled up in the bathroom sink.
Bethany, I can't wait to see the spiked collar. That's soooo funny. Babie Gurl refuses to have a collar on. Forget putting a leash on her. She freezes and won't move. I have to either let her run free or carry her....brat
And it's so great to see so many people happy w/ their rescued dogs. My Babie Gurl was rescued also. And quite happy she was.
Oh she's so cute!!! My Vinny chirps like a bird. Scotty on the other hand meows like he's gonna die. Gracie just squeels like a pig. They were rescues too!! That's funny that she sleeps in the sink....Vinny sleeps on top of the tv because it's warm. I've also been reduced to putting a plastic step stool in the tub so two of them can drink from the faucet...
Zeke is so cute! And so is Esme! I love all the pet pictures.
Yes, Holly was howling at Katy, trying to get her to play. Katy is 5 years old and not so into playing with the pups. She does play with Luke, though.
I guess to be fair I should show off my kitties, too.
I had to add my "bully" boy too, he's a sweetie, a 2 y/o rescued APBT. I love these dogs, they're the most loyal loving animals when treated properly and responsibly. We also have 2 cats, a ferret, a lizard, and hermit crabs.
I wish. I've always wanted one. I am BIG time allergic to them. I can walk into a house and immediately know if there's a cat around. I've tried different "allergy" pills and none of them seem to work. It's a shame because I can only hang out @ my sister's house for only a few hours without having a serious attack. But.....since she's about to give birth to a new baby boy....she's giving her cats to a friend who is lonely and needs the company. Their names are Lucy and Ethel. My sister is a "I love lucy" fanatic.
No, she's actually a tortiseshell. No white on her, just tan, black and a grayish color between those two. People love her half and half face. It's usually the first thing we hear about.
She's beautiful! I used to have a cat named Harry who slept in the sink. Of course he also let the dog hold him down and lick him till he was soaking wet.
She has a friend who found the fawn under her step (they think the doe might have been hit by a car)... her Ridgeback dog is helping look after it. The family named the fawn Bella. Once she has re-gained her strength (she was not in good shape when the family found her) they are going to send her to some friends who in the past raised two orphan deer and released them to the wild. Right now she is being bottle fed. Their dog (Hogan) has basically taken over. The fawn even shares his bed.
Aren't they soooo cute...snug as a bug /idealbb/images/smilies/appl.gif
Ohhh that is the sweetest picture! A baby deer looks a lot like my little Paco! I actually saw the pic before I read the post and thought it was a chihuahua!
That is so great that they are helping raise this orphaned baby!
