Ditto ck. Like I said, we are VERY careful. Our method isn''t for everyone, but in this case, the very worst that could happen is, I get pregnant, and truthfully that wouldn''t be the end of the world.
Shall I start shopping for all of your baby shower gifts now?

I know. But so was I, and it didn''t work out so well for me.

You are obviously in a much better place should anything "happen" so I don''t worry so much for you.... I know you and your FI (and likely the new grandparents!) would be fine and happy.

But... it''s truly just not effective, even if you think you''re being perfectly careful.

Sorry to lecture.

Sensitive spot for me. MomDizzy OUT!

I''m on BC and will be until we have a house and our finances in better order. We are thinking 3 years after the wedding at the most :) But preferably only 1-2 years if possible! Soooo excited to have little ones :)

To be honest, I will probably remain on BC for a couple years after I get married, depending on when I actually get married. I''m only 22 (23 next month.) I would hope to be married by 2012 at the latest (around 25 years old.) I would like to enjoy being married for a few years before having children. I want to make sure that we''re finanically in the right state to afford children. Of course anything can change and we may decide to start trying eariler, and accidents happen, but there is no way that I would just stop using BC because I''m engaged!

Oh heck no! I will remain on BC until many years after we''re married too. I can''t even imagine having kids yet and am hoping my biological clock kicks in some time after 30 (as opposed to not kicking in at all)

We just got engaged, but we plan to continue using condoms (I'm not on BCP) until after marriage. However, if we did get pregnant while it may not be ideal, it certainly wouldn't be the end of the world either like Bia said. We both want children and we've been together 6 1/2 years. Besides, his parents have been asking for grandchildren for a while!

Nope! I love the Mirena. Once we''re ready to start having kids I''ll get it removed, but until then it''s fabulous.

Seriously, though, I think once we are married K''s baby clock is going to start ticking in overdrive. He''s started getting all misty eyed whenever we see little kids.

That''s how it happens! My DH can''t wait for my to be pg/us to have a baby. But, we are not close to ready, so we are waiting!

What freaks me out is that we are in a pretty good place--we have a house, savings, no debt except the mortgage and K''s student loans from grad school (~18K). We could totally have kids right now. That is TERRIFYING.

Ha ha. NO WAY!

First of all, I am on it for medical reasons so I will continue to take the pill until we are ready for babies.

Second of all, to get preggo before marriage would pretty much make screeching red monkeys fly out of my moms eyes and attack bfs crotch in his sleep
29.gif
. (she told me in when I was in middle school that if a ''boy'' ever touched me in ANY way, she''d cut his hands off
20.gif
)

We use two forms of protection and bf is STILL scared that it might accidentally happen so we''re SUPER careful.

After we''re married, we may stop using his form but I will remain on the trusty (knock on wood) pill.

Lilac: I LOVE that song! BF and my first date was to an Aerosmith concert 3 1/2 years ago.. ''I don''t want to miss a thing'' was the first song we danced to and was also our first kiss! So we consider it ''our'' song and every time any of my friends hear it on the radio, they feel the need to call me and let me know it''s on! lol. They are coming back to our area in Sept. So we made sure to by tickets to relive our first date!

Let me just say, you have good taste in music!

Jaylex - That''s *our* song too! DH and I have been together for almost 5 years now and a couple days after our first date I heard it on the radio and realized I finally really FELT and understood the feeling behind the lyrics. I played it for him and we decided we would make it ''our'' song. We play it every year on our anniversary and he put it on 2 cd''s he''s made for me over the years. We LOVE it! We danced to that song for our first dance at our wedding and those were some of the most magical and best moments of our wedding.
Eee! Sorry for threadjacking...

Lilac: We are going to have that as our song as our wedding song too!
We also love the lyrics and how well they apply to our relationship and the way we feel about each other.. I once had a friend say "''I kiss your eyes and thank God we''re together?'' That''s dumb. Who the heck does that?! I don''t get it"
to which I replied "And you never will!
4.gif
".

Random Fact: I guess that Celine Dion was first approached to record IDWMT, but she turned it down. That''s fine with me, tho. I think that Aerosmith did an amazing job with it.

I was on BC but after 7 straight years I was just one big hormonal mess.

My theory is that after you get engaged your on such a ''loved up'' high that you do the deed more often, therefore higher chances of falling pregnant

Actually, like the girls, we had used this way of BC since the first time. My Gyno told me that if the guy have a stong mind and control of his body, this can works really well, ofcourse he has to be really good with that. My DH does Yoga and meditation, so I guess thats his technique lol
3.gif

Anyways, I started with the pill 2 months ago, mostly b/c i had a very irregular and heavy periods
38.gif
, This is my third month and I love it, my period last 2 days, no pain, right in the 28 day. What can I said
9.gif
I''m so happy about that.

Noooo way! FF and I dont want children at all, so I wont be stopping taking BC until one of us has a surgery!

This is exactly what I was going to post! I''m even going to be 23 next month too! I just got a Mirena IUD about a month and a half ago so I''m covered for the next 5 years.

We don''t use BC. We''ll randomly use condoms but not often at all. I was on BC for years and went off b/c I had lost insurance. Tried going back on once I got insurance back and had horrible reactions. (Which was odd b/c when I was on it before, I had NO side effects what-so-ever!) We have a method that seems to be working and like others said, if it happens, it happens. I would be absolutely thrilled! And FI, he''d probably be freaked out at first but quickly become really excited. All in all, we''ve been together 6.5 years so it would not be the end of the world.

But, like others have said, I think it''s just a matter of chance... You get engaged, you''re over the moon happy and that equates to more "loving" time... and we know what happens then!

Okay so I''ll be the only weirdo who DID stop taking BC after getting engaged. Hahaha!
3.gif
Not right after, I just stopped last month because it was making the deed a very painful and unfun experience. FI requested that I stop, so I did. He''s cool with condoms, and so is my VJ.
