Which to buy? Whiteflash vs OWD/Peace and Carat

I think you need to just go with your gut! You can't make a wrong choice here. Which one do you see yourself wearing more? I'm biased because I have this necklace from Adam in gold with a .56 OEC stone and I love it. I wear it every day and I personally prefer the daintier setting (though I've worn it without taking it off for a couple months and it's held up great).

I'm usually team old cuts, but I love this ACA piece. There are better cut old cuts that could be comparable to modern cuts, but not in this case imo

The photos I got didn't capture the cut of the old cut too well -- I agree it's not on par with something like a modern-cut old cut, but I do still like it! Of course it's not as symmetrical as the ACA, but for an old cut it does make me happy :)

I plan on wearing this 24/7, so as it stands, in their current settings, I lean old cut just because the setting of the ACA will drive me crazy and feels disproportionate to the size of the stone. If I'm able to swap out the ACA setting for something similar to the old cut, then I think I'm team ACA! Likewise for me the daintier setting works better with my style...glad to know it's durable as well!

I actually love the ACA in the bezel setting it is in, although I wouldn't keep that setting if it doesn't stay facing forward. The ACA is just going to be far more visible to others with the outstanding light return. So just from those last pictures, I think the ACA wins by a long shot.

I should have taken a profile photo, but it's pretty deep! Maybe the chain is a hair too short for me, making it easily flip as I move my neck around? I'm afraid to play around with different chains as I don't want to not be able to get the original back in there. I'll have to try them back on and see how they look from far away!

Any neck shots?

I love my old cuts.

However, in this line up, based on the stationary pics, i would choose the ACA. the necklace looks solid all around. the bezel is a little thick for me, but if you added milgrain, it might soften the thickness and it look better? but the way the chain goes thru the setting might be the issue.

I like the fact that the pendant moves with you. but not that it flips so the diamond is facing the chin. it all has to do with where the chain goes thru the bale/ setting at the back of it. perhaps the lucky diamond pendant setting would be better, cos the chain will go thru and be sitting more at the top of the setting. you can add milgrain or not.

Definitely think the ACA outshines that particular OEC. If you want the best light return and sparkle for your money, I would choose the ACA. You could also talk to WF about another type of setting that they may be able to order or make.

Yes, I just snapped a quick one of each! The old cut definitely does look delicate next to the ACA, though when it's on worn I think it does hold its own. I somehow missed the Lucky pendant - I do like the idea of still having it slide, but I found another post on here where someone said it was tilted because of where the chain went through. I don't mind the fixed Verismo, so I'm leaning towards that!

I just looked at them both under lightbox/LED lighting and honestly they are very comparable! Maybe my videos/photos just aren't great . The OEC gave off just as many rainbow sparkles as the ACA,and I'm getting a better understanding of the "boarder flashes of sparkle" as opposed to more splintery. Which is just making this decision even more difficult!

I’m the weird one. I have an AVR .59 pendant and I love it. In your videos I prefer the OEC. I like that it’s stationary. I personally love ACA’s. My ering is an ACA. But I just love the big rainbow flashes of the OEC. Good luck. You can’t go wrong with either. It’s all just personal preference.

I don't think there's anything weird with that! :D If I went ACA I think I would go for the fixed setting, since I'm liking that as well. I love the big rainbow flashes too - but since I'm hoping to go OEC for my eventual e-ring, maybe that's how I'll have my chance to enjoy them! I definitely agree I can't go wrong with either, I've just given myself too many choices

I would choose the ACA because with the ACA you will have the ability to upgrade the size in the future. Even if you currently have no intention to do so, I can't imagine you won't want to in a few years (or a decade+) down the road.

Very good point! In this way the ACA is definitely a better investment as it gives me that flexibility...and who would say no to a bigger diamond ;)2 or even bigger plus adding another to make studs!

The necklaces look lovely on you by the way. I adore a simple, classic, clean-lined look where the diamond is the star, and these both hit the mark!

Thank you so much! That's exactly what I'm going for, a simple streamlined necklace that goes with everything and lets the diamond do the talking!

I've decided to go with the ACA in the Verismo setting! :D

One day I'll get my chance to pick out the OEC of my dreams for an e-ring, so I'll still get the best of both worlds :kiss2:

Will be anxious to see your finished necklace!
