Which wedding band?

shhhhh don''t tell anyone but the quote I got from Leon was for less than the quote from Mark for the same band you are trying to get. I as well vote for option 2.

Single band all the way. But this is just my personal opinion- I don''t think I really like that double band. I''d rather have 2 seperate bands next to each other than one band with 2 rows in it. Plus, think about this.......if you get the single band now and then down the road get another single band, you can either put them next to each other or sandwich the ering between them. I like that idea much better.

Hi Ladies,

Well i went to my jeweler and they actually had the double row band to try on! I tried it on and it surprisingly looked amazing with my ering. After reading all of your post I was sure I was going to go with the single band, but now I am super confused! Both the saleslady and my FI liked the double row band better. The single band on it's own looks good but it's super dainty and when I put the two single row bands on it looks good too but there is akward space between all three rings and it looks strange at times...

I took a picture with the two row band. The pic came our horribly bcs I used my FI's blackberry to take it.... Up close it's much nicer because the diamonds and bead set in both rings match perfectly.

What do you guys think? I can't decide!!! I like the way the double band gives more weight to the wedding band and more bling, but I can see your points as to the versatility of the 2 single bands.

Oohhh so pretty!!! I can see why you are confused!!

My opinion (for what it is worth) is still the thin/single band with the hope of getting two eventually. I personally think the double band with the ering makes the ering look really thin. Granted, I tend to prefer the same width or smaller than the ering for the wedding band...

Um..yeah...so I guess what I"m saying is that I (a random person who has no bearing on your decision :-) prefers the single band with the endless love ering.

I will say the double band is beautiful though, just not my fave as a set.

Awww, re-read your post. You sound so excited about the thicker band and not so thrilled about the small ones. Go with the thick!

I am in love with your ering- it is so beautiful! I think both options you are considering are great. The double row band looks great with your ering and could definitally stand alone when you wanted to go without your ering. You also sound very excited about the double row band. I think you are really leaning towards that one yourself, or as I sometimes do trying to convince yourself you want it more. Good luck with your decision, but with those choices you cant go wrong either way! :)

I think I like the single row one better which is what I''ll be getting for mine I think. I just like the idea of having a thinner band so my pretty e ring stone still stands out hehe :)

I prefer the single band, but you have you go with what YOU love. It will be your wedding ring.

For sure. I like all three options. I think for now I will get the 1 single thin band and maybe I will get another single band or the double row in the future. I am also looking into palladium since it might be more affordable if I want to get more than one. I am really not opposed to palladium especially if it matched my platinum e-ring in color. I hear that 950 palladium it pretty close to platinum in color.... Guess I need to find out what kind Ritani uses. I just get believe how expensive platinum still is even though the market value has clearly plunged.

Hey girl - I did contact Mark at ERD but the prices he quoted me at at 1700$ each band (USD) so in the end I wouldn't be saving all that much with the exchange rate. I think my local jeweler said he would give them to me or 2200 CAN if I got two (so I would save 400$ each band). Not bad... I am going to go see him today and see what says. I will try and take pics if I can.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I will keep you posted re. what I decide!
Yikes :-( I guess the prices went up - a lot! I'm sorry I really thought that I had a solution for you!! I remember getting really decent quotes from a place down town in the jewellery building across from the Eaton Centre for something similar and they do custom as well.

Boo.

Either way, I'd get the skinny ones. One now, one later, whatever. I think it offers flexibility from a fashion standpoint as well as a financial one.

Good luck!
Hey Octoberbride,

There was some sort of misunderstanding with Mark over at ERD where he thought I was actually looking for the real Ritani rings, and that was the price he quoted me at. He apparently CAN make me something similar for a much lower price :) I am still exploring that option but I have a feeling I will end up getting a Ritani to make sure my set matches up perfectly.

Thanks for the advice though!

Oh good! I couldn''t believe the prices would have gone up so dramatically! Offer still stands if you want to check mine out though.

Such a fun time though eh? I had a terrible time choosing too - so I feel your ''pain''. :-)

I bought my wedding bands today!!! Two single row Ritani bands!!! Here is a terrible pic of 1 (which was way too big) on me. Now I need to wait 4-6 weeks for them to come in... sigh...

YAH, I'm so happy you went with the single row Ritani

It looks perfect with your e-ring! Now, what's this about getting two of 'em

hehehe. well... after researching palladium for a while and given the prices of platinum at Ritani (2600 a piece!), I decided palladium would suit me just fine and I could get 2 for the same price as 1 in platinum. moreover, I contact ritani directly to ask about their grade of palladium, and they use one of the purest forms, meaning their palladium matches their platinum in color exactly (unless you look under a microscope - in which you see a slight difference in hue). i figured it was ok considering the bands are mostly diamonds and not much metal. even the white gold matched my platinum e-ring perfectly in the store. far as i know, palladium has all the same positive qualities platinum does, except that is it lighter in weight, and not as rare as platinum, hence the price difference... supply and demand baby... supply and demand.... apparently it ages the same (i.e. gets a patina over time and does not fade), and it is super resistant and strong... so anyway - there you have it! i got 2 ritani rings in palladium. i will post pics as soon as i get the rings!

GREAT choice! Where did you end up buying them?!

Damiani in toronto - have u ever been? they have the best prices! and claudio (one of the owners) always gives you great discounts... they carry lots of lines like A-Jaffe, Ritani, Micheal B, Art Carved, Diana, and a bunch of others I know nothing about.... ahhaah. I love Damiani - I will def. be buying more stuff from them in future...

i wasn''t sure about the palladium option due to the possible difference in color but after i was assured from ritani themselves about the color matchup with my e-ring i felt much better about it! i am glad i went with ritani though and not a replica... at least this way my set will match perfectly (i hope!).

I am SO glad you went with the single band! The double is pretty, but the single is SO much more elegant. It sets off your ering perfectly.

Oh, that''s so awesome ILTW! Your comment about "supply and demand" had me chuckling

I know your heart was always set on getting two single bands, but you were second guessing yourself ''cause of the price so I''m thrilled you were able to figure it out. Yah for great deal and lots of blingage

Of course, you know we''ll be expecting lots of pix!
