whiteflash 1 year buyback process

I am really sorry that you do not like your purchase. From the picture you posted on August 28th, it really looked like a very pretty, very big stone! Very pretty setting too. Very much like my Tiffany ring.

Have you used the HCA tool to evaluate your stone? I am certainly no expert but basically I put the store through the wringer (fortunately, got super service from a a very nice SA) just to get the right HCA score (even had rings shipped from Australia to Europe :)) and I am super extra happy with the result. I even forgot what color or clarity my diamond is...And I couldn't care any less considering the happy rainbow-fire sparkles it throws around like crazy!

Maybe the HCA score would be helpful to you while looking at other stones. It has really worked very nicely for me. Maybe it will help you too? As my DH says, no comprising on luxury goods. Your ring should make you happy every day! You must be extremally disappointed to consider a 30% cut plus inflation...

Just as an FYI, the HCA isn't helpful for ACAs and other stones with advanced images. The ACA is designed to help weed out stones that have un-ideal angles. But once you have ASET/IS images and an AGS 000 certificate, the HCA won't help you narrow anything down.

Agreed with @lovedogs. You only use the HCA on GIA excellent cut stones to narrow down the ones that fall into the ideal cut territory. All ACAs are in the very top tier of cut. You don’t use the HCA.

In most cases that I see here on the forum, people prefer the wider lower girdle facets of 75-76. In this case it sounds like the OP might prefer 77-78 since that was about the only difference one could see in the two diamonds she had. I will add that bumping color up will definitely add to the brightness factor. So going to H or I color with the 77-78 lower girdle facets would be the thing to try. I just also wanted to mention that due to the pandemic there have been fewer stones coming in, so the frustration can’t be with WF for not stocking more. There have been massive shortages of jewelry stock this year even among high end brands. Many countries have had extended shutdowns and that has resulted in low production.

None of that really matters if the OP has decided she likes another shape stone more. There’s no point in doing an upgrade if that’s the issue.

Sorry for disappearing, holidays took over!

I spoke with WF and decided to wait a bit longer to see what other inventory they get in. I still have quite a bit of time before my 1 year runs out so I will wait till spring and then decide.

Great! If you decide to sell I would love to see it! Thanks

Yep I saw the link form earlier post! I was just in the market for a large diamond, just looking for an opportunity!
