OMG - fantastic pictures!!! Whiteflash''s pictures didn''t do this piece any kind of justice - your pictures make this look like a completely different piece of jewelry.

Mochi, that is one stupendous ring!! I absolutely love the setting, it shows off the beauty of the stone so well and it''s so elegant and streamlined - not to mention the fab pictures you take. Just wonderful, so happy for you!

Mochi - I just had to stop in and say what a great ring!! I can''t get over how well the stone and the setting compliment each other. It''s beautiful and elegant and just perfect. Gorgeous!!!

mochi -- you have inspired me! And, more importantly, you have inspired my fiance.

I am a fan of chysoberyl too, and I got one from Barry Birdgestock a while back. It''s a nice, chunky-faceted round stone. I carried it around in my purse (safe in its box, of course) and would take it out and look at it a bunch of times a day. My fiance thought the stone was neat, but when he saw yours set as a solitaire, he was like, "Could you wear yours as a ring too?" I told him that I most definitely could, and he said that even though he can''t afford to buy me jewels, he would love to have it set for me and for me to wear it as an e-ring. I just dropped it off at the jewelers to have it put in the Stuller Solstice 6-prong setting (14k white gold).

So, thank you, mochi, for the inspiration!

Your ring has a much different look than mine will have, but I am sooo thrilled to see someone out there sporting a chrysoberyl solitaire!

mochi your ring looks AWESOME!
WF did a fantastic job!
Great color and love the bezel!

Have to ask and hope you don''t mind where ever did you get a ADORABLE doll in the pic below??? I collect them and I have a couple but over in Canada I have a hard time finding them...it would be nice to know where I may be able to grab one, yours is super cute!
Enjoy your gorgeous ring!

more proof that a color stone can hold its own! well done.

Jane..thank you so much. Your ring was also a inspiration to me!!

Stacy...thank you so much for your kind words. I also got a chyrsoberyl from Barry, a round one. It looks completely different from the asscher cut one. It''s more gold. I also love it. Please make sure you post pictures of your new ring!!

BFG.. Thank you! WF did such a wonderful job and was a joy to work with. The doll is called a Kokeshi doll, made of carved wood. I got most of them when I was visiting my relatives in Okinawa. I did purchase a couple in Los Angeles a few years ago. They do sell them on Ebay. I love them and am thinking about adding to my collection.

Movie Zombie....Thank you so much!!

Wow, I just went through this thread and that ring is amazing!

I''m new to posting, have dropped in to lurk on occasion...finally bit the bullet and signed up to get some help on: Chrysoberyl. It''s a new stone to me, so I''m not so sure what to look for.

Looks like I''m in the right place for experts!

First off, I''ve NEVER seen such a perfect Chrysoberyl and I''ve been shopping for a while. Where is it from?
Second, please take a look at the two stones I''m looking at...I''d love some advice and direction!! I keep thinking I''ve made up my mind, and then flip-flop about...Just to add, I''m looking at cheaper bigger stones out of asia w/ the thought that I might want to re-cut later...

Thanks for your insights!

Thank you, Leolady!

This chrys was cut by Gene (http://www.precisiongem.com/index.html). He was such a awsome work. I have another stone, a zircon, that''s also cut in a asscher style. It''s very sparkly.

In the beginning of my venture into colored gems, I was going the route of getting cheaper stones (mainly from ebay). I just couldn''t wait to get my hands on those pretty stones. Alot of them are so lovely and some of them were more of a educational pieces. Unfortunately, most of them were not ideal cuts.

Now I mostly try beautiful gems from venders that''s posted here. That way I know that it''s authentic and the cut is gorgeous.

Welcome to PS, again. Don''t be shy and join us!!
