Who’s NOT planning an upgrade? Show me your forever set!

I’m not one to say “never” but I am very happy with my rings and have no plans to upgrade.

My center stone is 2.1 carats and my band is made up of 11 7-pointer stones.

One of my all-time favorite sets on PS. Gorgeous!

This is my forever set, and my darling Empress J (two years on and my husband still doesn't remember I gave my ring a name!) will always be my one and only engagement ring... But that isn't to say that I won't be acquiring more rings... and more bands...

@luckyblackcat I adore your pear. It's much bigger than mine & I have loved it since you first got it. Can you show me some profile shots of the setting please? I am a U.K. PSer & upgrading isn't really a thing, but I have inflicted no end of injury to my family over the years with my claws. I have never been a bezel fan, but my cogs are turning the more I see them, so I'm thinking of 'maybe' a fourth reset at some point to a bezel :cool2: Also, do you wear your eternity ring with your set, or is it a rhr? Show me!

@Alex T, I'm in the UK, as well! I hope you're staying warm in this crazy cold. And thank you for your kind words. I love your gorgeous pear, too! Aside from comfort, another huge benefit of bezeling is that it would better show off your pear's perfect shape.

Mine has a very simple open profile:

I do wear my eternity with my set, but when I visited for Christmas, my mom was trying to dissuade me from it, so I've been quite torn! She much prefers just the simple band.

It's a gorgeous profile! The only bezels I've seen in person have this big, deep solid profile, like a hunk of metal, which personally I don't like. I like to see my diamond & am a bit obsessive about cleaning it. I only had 3 claws originally but had to have 2 more added 18 months ago as it kept coming loose & rocking from side to side. So now I have 5 scratchy claws on a pointy diamond :roll Hmm... you've really given me food for thought with this. And I love the whole set with the eternity! I have a similar debate depending on the weather (yeah, let's not go there right now. It's -4 currently where I am in Cheshire) in that I stack my set, eternity, wedding, pear, but when my hands get hot or currently start to warm up from the biting cold, my fingers swell terribly & they hurt, so the rings get pulled off & the eternity goes on the right with my skinny 18ct Lucida plain band. Whilst I love the look of these 2, I do feel the eternity is part of my set & should be on the left. First World issues!! How do YOU prefer to wear the 3 rings??

Where are you in the U.K.? Would be fab to meet up sometime!

@Alex T I'd love to meet up!! I'm in London, but I have friends up north, so happy to travel your way... Though perhaps when the arctic blizzard ends... Back to the very pressing first world issues of how to wear an eternity band! Wearing the eternity in my set just feels more complete to me. Do you have a photo of your full set?

Here's my forever set. It's sentimentally irreplaceable, and it doesn't hurt that it's plenty BIG in my eyes haha. Still plenty of room on my other hand for experimentation!

THUD! Stunning.

@missy: I love your heirloom and its meaningful story especially. It truly is symbolic of a piece that celebrates a marriage union! I seem to have seen your ring before on PS. Is it a Cartier?

Thank you @Sparkle_ruckle. Yes it is a Cartier. My parents purchased it at the NYC Fifth avenue Cartier store in 1972. My mom was resisting it but my dad wouldn't take no for an answer. He always appreciated beauty and this is truly beautiful moreso in person than any photo (of mine at least) can depict. Thank you for your lovely compliments.

And to all the PSers who shared their beautiful bling here just WOW. Every Single Ring gorgeous.:love::love: Just amazbling in every way. And I can see why you wouldn't want to ever part with your beautiful pieces. Thank you for sharing and keep the bling pics coming pretty please!:appl:

Great thread!!!
My forever setting for my forever stone. It was a long and costly road with settings that did not really fit my 5.3 ct OEC. In 2013 I found the ideal setting because of PS. I still love how the french cut sidestones, engraving and milgrain complement the classic stone. The setting is handforged by Victor Canera.

My favorite ring of all time. I adore all of your beauties!!

No plans to upgrade.

Mayk, I saw this and gasped! The vintage-looking stacked bands plus that vintage-looking solitaire with some bling on the band, all in platinum . . . that’s exactly the look I’m going for with my upgrade! Can you show me gallery pics of the e-ring, please? I love the little gap between it and the band beside it!

Thank you @mrs-b and @missy. You both have amazing rings.

@Irishgrrrl What a great thread! So many elegant, timeless rings. This thread is an excellent reference for someone looking to buy a forever ring.

Thank you, MCO! I was hoping this thread could serve as inspiration for people who are looking for “the one”! LOL!

Never say never. I'm super sentimental so although I am already jonesing for a new ring to play with....my e-ring diamond will always be a forever diamond, in whatever setting....pendant or otherwise.

I also have a forever ring that my fiance got me when we were in our teens (17 for me and 19 for him) does that count? Please ignore the overbright flash! This ring is due for a cleaning tonight....20180301_093045.jpg

The best picture is on Erika Winter’s website. My setting it the Laurel. (Non cathedral). Thank you. It took a while for me to get to this set. Upgrades and resets on in my past.

What is your ring size?
Do you have a link with your pictures of your diamond band?
Thanks

Hi @luvsdmb - My ring size is 4.5 - 5. The diamond band is a 5 so I can stack, but it is a bit loose on its own. I don't have a thread with photos but I will try and put one together this weekend. I just got the band last weekend! :))

I know, I know . . . never say never! LOL! But I’m wondering how many of us are just really happy with our current set and don’t expect to upgrade ever again? Show me what you’ve got, gimme some stats, and tell me why you think this one is IT! :kiss2:

I sometimes wonder if I should put it in a different setting but I can’t decide.

Me! I'm too sentimental. It's the set my husband proposed with, and the diamond was on my mom's originalset (she upgraded), so.... this is my forever set. Maybe I'd add another stacking band or get a right hand ring, but I love my set. Below is the ring before my husband had it reset.

The new setting is gorgeous!

I'm done with upgrades for a while, so I will call this my 'forever' set! Technically the 'set' has not changed in over 10yrs, just the center stone :P2
