Mine is engraved with "tacori". . and "plat". I never got mine done...

Can anyone think of something cool for P. L . A . T ?

This thread it cool.....It''s been a while since anyone posted but mebbe I can get it started back up again. Both my hubby and I are big Tolkien/Fantasy Lord of the Rings fan so we had our rings engraved with a saying in the elvish language used in Tolkien. I took his and he took mine and we didn''t know what each others was going to say until our wedding day. Mine says:

Amina''Mael

Which means ''My Love''
And his said:

Ilya Amente ten''oi

Which means ''Always and Forever''
Whicxh is how I always signed my letters to him

Even if you DON''T have memory problems, it''s a fair guess that future generations won''t remember your wedding date.


I think of e-rings as future heirlooms, and as an antique collector/nut...I know dated pieces are even more special...

I agree with Widget - my inherited pearl ring (my great great aunt''s engagement ring) has their initials and (engagement?) date engraved inside and that makes it sooo much more special to me! It''s not just some arbitrary piece of old jewelry, it''s "H.I.L. to E.C.L. Jan. 1st, 1844"

AND in its original box! I''m not even an antique collector at all, but I looooove that it comes with so much history!

I put our names & wedding date..plus our code for "I Love You" which is 123 on his ring. It was a total surprise for him. We''ve used 123 because we would hold up fingers from across the room as our secret I LOVE YOU code.

Mine is too thin to do anything with.

Our rings say "By my side" which is the title of our song (by Ben Harper).


His also has my first name, but we couldn''t fit his in mine as it is a seven stone diamond ring. The plan was to get his name engraved into the engagement ring, but I didn''t want to part with my ring!

So eventually that''s what we''ll do.

It could stand for "Please Look At This"... and jsut scratch a little arrow pointing to the "tacori"

These posts are beautiful, they are making me get all teary-eyed, so sweet! We didn''t have our rings engraved, but if we ever do, I will engrave mine, "whither thou goest," and his will have "I will go" from the book of Ruth from the Bible. It was my mother''s favorite verse. Although we are not super-religious, it is a meaningful phrase to us. All the rest of these posts are so beautiful and loving, WOW!
