Would love your opinions on BM dress options

Hahaha...sorry Future Mrs. P, but I''m just imagining how my slightly overweight butt would look from the rear view of that mermaid dress..and it''s not a pretty sight! Imagine that model''s rear end is a bubble blown into some gum, and then it blows up once more, once more, and one more big breath...just when you think the bubble is about to burst...that''s what my rear end would look like! They are all great dresses, but I think #2 is the most accomodating. I agree with some of teh other posters that the shiny material would not be flattering. I think a halter might work, I''m quite large in the bust, and some halters look great, but some I am just spilling out of. I don''t think it would be a problem to pick a color and material and let them pick the dress, but you might end up in a situation like I was in where all but one of the girls wanted one dress, and the loner girl wanted something else.

I have to object a bit that all of the decisions seem to be dictated by what the larger BM wants. I am very small and everything doesn''t just magically look good on me. I can''t wear certain dress lengths because they make me look even shorter and stubbier. I can''t wear strapless because they don''t stay up on be because of my size. I don''t wear certain necklines because I have a round face they make look very fat, etc.

Brazen - thanks for your input. Don''t worry, I am definitely taking into account what my other BMs want and I''m planning to pick 2 options that they can choose from (and I''ve already checked and all of my other girls like any of the options). So hopefully, each will have a choice to some extent. However, as far as length, I don''t know that the bridesmaids really have much of a say in that regard, as it seems to be dictated by how formal the event is.

well, going against the majority of the vote, i really like #2..i am NOT a fan of any of the other styles u posted...to me dresses 1, 3, 4 would suit one style of ''body'', but not so much the other...dress #2 seems like it mite be flattering on ANY body type..and for those who are big chested, the design on top will suit it very nicely, and those who are on the smaller end, will have something that will give the impression otherwise (due to the top folds)...if they need more support, they can either pin their bras to the side of the dress (thus the dress wont fall down!) or another option is to have a small ''belt hoop'' to the sides of the dress where the bra strap simply goes thru holding everything in place...

Hi F-Mrs.PD,
I think #2 will look good on all body types. I also like the 3rd link that Freke posted. I think the simple a-line skirt with strapless top looks best. In general, you may want to stay away from styles with too many seams (like the last one).

don't like #1 and i think #2 will look good on the "skinnier" BMs and #3 on the bustier ones. #2 will make the bustier ones more bustier looking and #3 will make the smaller chested BMs more smaller chested looking.

do not like the bottom of #4 but like the rest of the dress and sans the bottom part of the dress, it might be one that looks good on all of your BMs
