Thank you everyone for your well wishes and congratulations. Even when I was too discouraged or disheartened to post here, it was comforting to know that other people out there were going through the same things; that I wasn''t all alone. Sometimes just sharing the burden really does make it easier to bear.

And I do want to apologize for taking so long to post about my engagement. Immediately after it happened I was on cloud nine and spent all of my free time just enjoying myself with my new fiance (and my future in laws!), far away from the distractions of the computer. There was very little capable of tearing me away from him in those first few days, even though I was busting at the seams to share my news. I was also waiting for the photos of the proposal to start rolling in so I could share the whole story with you as I know pics are generally a requirement around here hehe.

At that same time I had a huge falling out with my mom due partially to miscommunications and partially my disappointment over her decision to go Christmas shopping thereby missing out on my proposal. Needless to say there were a few very dark days over here and my relationship with my mom was almost destroyed entirely over this situation. I really did want to hop online and tell you all about the proposal but at that point I was so emotionally drained/hurt/sad/confused/worried that I wasn''t capable of retelling the story as it deserved to be told. In my 27 years on this planet I have never had such a fight with my mom and it was an incredibly horrible experience. It felt like she was not only ruining my proposal excitement but also threatening to destroy Christmas when she mentioned not flying down to spend the holidays with us after all. If I had had any doubts about chosing the right person to spend the rest of my life with at that point, they would certainly have flown out the window when Nate picked up the phone, called my mom, and straightened the whole thing out. He was beyond amazing and his intervention not only saved our Christmas but quite possibly prevented the complete destruction of my relationship with my mom. I am so ridiculously lucky that it hardly seems fair.

That being said, I appreciate all of you, your support, your concern, and I hope that this next year gives you the same sort of happiness and joy that I''m experiencing right now

Heidi - I want to again say Congrats!! I love the pictures and how darling you two are as a couple. Just as I imagined.

I also wanted to tell you - Don''t say sorry!! We totally understand how it feels to be wrapped up in love and you have EVERY right to spend every moment in that bliss!! We just missed you is all. hehe You don''t have to say sorry at all. We are just glad it all worked out in the end as it should.

As for the situation with your mom - I am so sorry you had to go through that during a happy time in your life. Not easy at all. I am just glad to hear things are better and patched up. I think when you are close with your mom it hurts a million times more to fight with her. I am just happy eveything is ok again.

With all that being said - Thanks for all the updates and smiles you brought to us. Now go be a FIANCE girlie!! hehe

Heidi, what an amazing story! Congratulations! I love your avatar, you have a wonderful family of kitties and dogs! I too have a Russian Blue cat. I love your ring!. You should post a link to the specs on this baby. I think it would help alot of others that may want to pass on an excellent stone due to clarity. Your I1, 2.02c is fabulous! It looks perfect on your finger. You will be glad you chose the larger stone, it looks elegant on you. And yes, you are correct in knowing that people will not notice the inclusions due to the perfect cut!
I was with my now husband for 13 1/2 years before we got married. Let me tell you.... Good things are worth waiting for!
