Your Latest Jewelry Purchases/Things You're Considering....

@luckygreen317 and @Dee*Jay Thank you! I'm so enamored with it and can't wait to wear it out, as soon as I figure out best configuration to prevent tilting back and forth. Might try a brooch to pendant converter and see how that goes, or maybe a different chain to see what works best.

Please help me think through these! Tempting pieces…
i can’t buy them all, so I would appreciate your views. Thank you!

A) An unheated sapphire , 3.66 ct. Would you consider this velvety?

IMG_2533.jpeg

IMG_2530.jpeg

B) Is this jadeite ring a worthy partner for Minerva?
IMG_2538.jpeg

c) Jadeite pendant. I know, I have other pieces like this but these jellies are addictive.
IMG_2532.jpeg

D) Jadeite Ruyi carving pendant.

Thank you!

I’m drawn to a & c. I think the sapphire is gorgeous, and jellies are scrumptious.

Take this with a grain of salt - my knowledge of jadeite is zero. But I'm not sure that any jadeite would go well with Minerva. The unique blueish green of the emerald makes the greener or yellower green of jadeite look yellower by comparison. Good for Minerva, maybe, but not so good for the jadeite. Minerva is so spectacular that I doubt she would sit well with any other green stone. I'm also thinking that the jadeite of the ring is a bit foggier and less saturated than it could be. At least, Minerva makes it look that way...

I love the internal glow of the other jadeite pieces. I like the colour of the sapphire, but the pictures aren't showing much detail.

Do you mean a partner to wear at the same time or just another luscious green cab?

My solution to compliment a statement CS is plain ol diamond!

I do love the green jadeite ring though! But it doesn’t match Minerva colour wise to wear together.

No pendant if you already have pendants!

I love the sapphire and especially the design but would you consider going bigger? Because if you’re buying, might as well go big.

Thank you, @Mrsz1ppy Your assessment matters to me! =)2

@Starstruck8 Thank you! i think you are right about the two greens not sitting well together. I think it is very hard to sit next to Minerva and yet look good! :oops2:I placed the rings side by side for size comparison. That jadeite ring is the most expensive of items A to D, well into 6-figure territory, so out it goes.
Sorry about the photos lacking detail. The dazzle from the diamonds somehow makes everything blur. 1698505718843.gif

Thank you @mellowyellowgirl Just another green cab https://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/files/1854526ox0046p8do.gif

I agree with you and @Starstruck8 the two greens should not appear otogether,

Aww… i have a jadeite necklace and pendant but they wanted one more of a different design.I may also convert the pendant into a bracelet.

Ah, it didn’t pass the snot test. Oh no!!! I showed my fhe pics of the four times shown above. She commented that none of them was big enough! She has the same standards as you ! 1698505480732.gif

I am biased these days! I think most of us already have various pieces already. If we're buying more, might as well go big, rather than add more of the same size to the collection! And since you own and love Minerva, I assume that you have no objections to going big! Heeeeeeeeeee

You are right, @mellowyellowgirl I do like large pieces. Besides Minerva, there’s the rubellite boiled sweet, some rubies, the Barbie cuprian tourmaline and others, gulp. Sorry for the typo in the previous message. I meant my *daughter* said the items weren’t big enough :P2:eek2:

Any updates @Crimson ?

Listen to your daughter! That’s a wise girl there!

Yes, she is :mrgreen2: The update is I have decided not to get the sapphire ring ( my friend wants it). After eliminating one item, I added three more. The list is getting longer! I added these jadeite & ruby earrings. I tried them on two years ago and found them too heavy, but I could not forget them. The upper piece is 1.5 cm and the lower 2.3 cm. They emanate white light with a tinge of blue.

@Crimson plzzzzz show us the other 2 items! Those earrings are fabulous!!!

Hehe I go so far as to hide my wish list from my jeweller! The less temptation the better!

So excited I could vomit! 7.20 carats in 16 inches of white gold. COME ON TRACKING NUMBER!!!IMG_7567.jpeg

Dribble!!

Yes, come on tracking number!!!!!!!!!

Where did you buy it from, if you don’t mind me asking? I am thinking about a tennis bracelet or necklace, just not sure which direction to go with & could do with a UK location that has both for me to look through.

It’s from a jeweller in Greys Antiques market in London, though the necklace itself is comprised of MRB’s. The cut quality looked lovely in natural light and in some angles quite dark in the harsh shop lighting. As soon as she arrives up north, I’m sending it to Georgina Deer. She’s an amazing valuations expert in Sale. I’ll be happier to give more details once I’ve gotten an independent opinion on the stones, and I’ve calmed down a bit.
ETA Friday morning!!!!

Whoop! Whoop! It’s nearly Friday morning!!

Now I am a SPIT away from Sale (I’m in Cheshire) so we could have a mini GTG & I can check your dazzlers ALL out, neighbour!

@mellowyellowgirl The wish list can be selectively revealed to certain people :read:
Here are the other two pieces. They are definitely visible from across the room.
One jadeite bubble, 1.88cm by1.62cm by 0.86cm. I think you’d approve of the size.
IMG_2554.jpeg

The other is a. calabash / “Hulu“ ring. I am not sure I like the design but the intensity of the jadeite is amazing.

Please let me know what you think!

@Crimson hulu link doesn't work for me but the cab is divine!!! I dug up my old diamond pendant so am feeling fond of pendants these days! And that would be VISIBLE!!! My only gripe with pendants is one can't really enjoy it for oneself! It's more for other people to see.

Oh wow! This is beautiful! I bet it is a perfect pairing with your eternity band and tennis bracelet. Your collection is so elegant and classic.

Ooh sorry about the broken link. Here is a screenshot with size info/ it is big too: but I cannot imagine myself wearing it…especially after wearing Minerva to dinner last night. My dining companions were astounded.IMG_8704.jpegIMG_8696.jpeg

@Crimson definitely love the Cab pendant more! There is something mesmerising about its translucency that is mesmerising!

Oh you should have seen me the other day! I was out in shorts, snoopy Tee and a giant ring. People just get used to it after a while! They will assume that big is your thing! Haha I now get questioned when I wear one of my smaller rings!

@RosieR Did it arrive??? PICTURES!!

Picked up these 2 antique rings. Both have hallmarks for UK I think, lol.
And reset my old mine cut so that I could admire the stone more.

Yes! It got here Friday morning just as I was running out the door to get to work.
It’s the perfect understated thin line of daily sparkle I was looking for. I’m booked in to see Georgina on Tuesday morning for appraisal. Initial thoughts are maybe 16 inches are too short as it’s a little flippy as it sits on my collarbone (the necklace was altered from its original 17 inch length) even though it’s been raining pretty consistently with storm Ciaran the stones still look white and bright.
I’ll add photos to missy’s tennis necklace thread later

Don’t remind me of this storm. It’s pretty vile & the Vicarage has an awful lot of very large, very old trees in the gardens. We’ve already had a branch come down & there are huge twigs & broken bits everywhere. The pup LOVES it :lol-2:

But YAY!!!!! I cannot wait to see your pictures! it definitely needs to be the perfect length to keep it flat, but I am positive it will be stunning anywhere, anytime. I have 2 friends with them & one flips, the other doesn’t. But I don’t notice the flip - they are both great sparklers!

Thank you, dear @mellowyellowgirl ! i like your spirit. Some big pieces are really quite versatile. The rubellite cabochon can go with anything. Maybe ppl assume it is costume jewellery and that is fine too. ;)2
Yesterday morning, the owner of my fav jewellery stores texted me about new CS pieces. A few hours later I was at the store. Here is a bigger royal blue sapphire.
IMG_2563.jpeg

I also considered a cute bird ring with glassy jadeite and emeralds.
IMG_2564.jpeg

Then staff brought this out and told me it was meant for me  - seven large,, luminous, top quality glassy jadeites, 36 smaller glassy jadeites and over 11 ct of diamonds. If I bought this, I would have to wear it every day to justify the cost. Yes, I would have to wear it with a Pusheen T-shirt and shorts on the weekends. Of course my daughter immediately loved it and said she would wear it. It looks like something from a fairytale.

IMG_2562.jpeg

Back to earth, I decided to get the big glassy jadeite earrings with rubies.

Loveeeeeeee the sapphire ring!!! That’s beautiful! Are they rose cuts on the halo? I’ve warmed up to blues these days!

That necklace is a piece of art!!! Haha I’d love to see it with a pusheen T shirt :lol-2:

Re costume jewellery: one of my favourite things is to ask my husband whether my stuff can pass off as a purchase from AliExpress/TaoBao

Hubby: Why are we paying so much for you to pretend you’re wearing mossanite from AliExpress?

I *may* have asked for a tennis bracelet for Christmas & I *may* have an appointment late this week to view different carat weights….. :Up_to_something:
