I still do better with the stone on a flat unmoving table to free up my hands for a more steady picture. This colour is also representative of the tsavorite in person.

Incandescent lighting. It''s not this blue in person. I think my camera is overcompensating with the white balance thing as LTP mentioned earlier in the thread.

I never meant to take any spessartite pictures; it was actually in the background while I was photographing the cobalts but it caught my eye as I was cropping the picture so I decided to make a picture out of it.

I''ve said before....but really, what beautiful collection you have Chrono.

Thank you, Deia. I was unable to capture the true colour of the spessartite in a frontal position in the most of my pictures. I had the most difficult time and those that turned out well, unfortunately shows my neighbours’ homes which I don’t feel comfortable posting. However, I hope this old picture will suffice.
