TL, the rubellite actually changes/shifts color just a bit, depending on the light. It''s most red in incandescent light, sort of a purple-red-magenta color, and is a purple-red-pink in fluourescent light. They both look very rich, and I have yet to see a bad color in this one!Date: 11/28/2009 7:08:00 PM

Cellentani,
I''m the same way with some stones!! That''s how you know you love them!! I''m enjoying your pictures so much. You are a great gem photographer, and the pink on the spinel really pops!! BTW, is your new rubellite more of a reddish color, or more pink?

White gold, thin prongs and traps sounds absolutely beautiful AND will definitely suit chubby fingers (speaking as an owner of sausage fingers!).
BTW I adore the fire shot above - how cool is that!!!
Glad you liked the fire shot mochi!Date: 11/29/2009 6:46:54 PM

I admit I don''t know my inclusions very well, so I asked Gary. He called that one a feather inclusion, for what it''s worth.Date: 11/28/2009 2:39:45 AM

fantastic colour in this dim natural light
what kind of inclusion is that?
is that a finger print inclusion?>
Thank you Mr. ma re, that sounds beautiful. I half-expected to hear a 2-tone suggestion from you though - yellow gold prongs, white gold shank....Date: 11/30/2009 2:55:16 AM

Since you asked for suggestions...
I''d try to play up it''s vibrant, lively, ''let''s get the party started'' side and set it with either some trillion sides, or go for tapered baguettes that would look like sun rays while also serving as a transition point between the stone and the shank. But that''s just me, do the thing that''ll make you happy
Well if it were a rhodolite...and if you''d really insist on setting it in white gold...Date: 11/30/2009 9:35:16 AM
