I love it when i come back and there is WONDERFUL news!!! The teaser is just that... WE NEED MORE PICS!!! So glad you didnt have to break anything and your waiting is over!!! YEA!!!!
GG - Hope the b/f really is being sneaky about getting a ring! How exciting! Roller blades wouldnt be bad, but a ring is WAAAY cooler!
Yanekie - Sorry the b/f wasnt very responsive to the stone. I think there is an adjustment period the guys have to go through. Its like they get so turned off by how excited we get. Or he could be trying to be sneaky as well.
Walking into the movies friday night the b/f randomly goes, i know when your ring is going to be ready! He called to check on things because they had originally told him it would be ready this week. So of course i go into hyper 3 yr old mode and keep asking him when. I tried to general. Will i get it when you get it because i dont when you are getting it? No. Before Christmas? Yes. Before Thanksgiving? Dont push your luck. He kept bringing it up so i kept guessing. I finally guessed 2 more weeks, but then he got mad because i guessed it and like all the silly boys he tells me, "its has to be a surprise, so stop thinking about and now im really not giving it to you when i get it!"
And... the new list!

JCJD- maybe he''s planning to put it on his credit card, then he won''t have to pay off the card balance until his next paycheck comes? Thanksgiving is soon!!

Yeah, maybe, if he had a credit card!!! He has been using his dad''s credit card to pay for the exorbitant gasoline expenses he''s incurred while driving all across town for his job, so maybe he''ll use that for insurance and phone bills, and use his paycheck to pay for the ring! Yeah, cause that makes so much more sense JCJD...
And he HAS to do something before Thanksgiving, cause we''re going to see his aunt and crazy uncle who will stop at nothing to find out when he''s finally proposing. This guy is insane (but he means well)! 2 years ago, he even asked me if I would accept my b/f''s proposal even if he killed someone! Weird-o!! But yes, a GREAT opportunity to show off a ring, even if it''s FAKE (please oh please!)!!!!
OMG!!! I just thought of this!! I really am crazy!
What if he bought the ring back in March or whatever when he had his temp job, and he only paid off part of it, so now he can pay his bills AND the rest of the ring payment with this one paycheck!!! AAAAAAAAA!!!!! OK, gotta stop thinking about this and get back to work!!!
LOL JCJD you are too cute! (deep breath) it''s nice to be back all this neuroticism...no offense intended ladies, i am deep among you guys. its to the point i can''t talk to any one öutside"about this and you guys are my only outlet.
Choochoo - more pics! story! you CANNOT LEAVE US HANGING LIKE THIS!
So, how long is Choo going to hold out on us. I know she is basking in the newly engaged glory, but I need details.
JCJD and ginger, isn''t it funny, the elaborate plans I minds think of. It''s like scenario after scenario. We need to a NA, Neurotics Anonymous, club.

LMAO.........and I thought I was the only Halo2 widow on the board!!
We both have the day off today...me because that''s how it happened, him because he ASKED FOR IT OFF....along with THREE OF HIS FRIENDS....so they could gather at somebody''s house and play Halo2. He was up at 7:30 this morning, waiting for Circuit City to open so he could buy a copy.Last night everybody was moving TVs over to the one guy''s house so they could each have their own system to play on...had it all linked up and waiting to pop the discs in the xbox. I''m afraid to see what happened if they''d had trouble getting the plastic wrap off the case!!
I don''t think I''m next.... JCJD has a definite ''before Thanksgiving'' and sciencegeek''s ring''s just waiting to be shipped. My vote''s on one of those guys. I''m telling you, ginger, it''ll be you and me to the bitter end as there''s a sudden flurry of holiday proposals and we''re left holding the remnants of the ladies-in-waiting list....ah well, somebody''s got to stick around to welcome all the newcomers, right??
Added: Oh, and I''m getting my own little indulgence since I''m widowed for the day....he''s off playing xbox, and I''m going to go try on e-rings!!
ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ooooh...i wanna go try on e-rings too! fabolous idea!
Halo2!! ahahahahaah,
It''s actually part of my BF''s job to play there games. He writes video game reviews. Yes, it''s every boy''s dream job (I feel like I''m dating a 9 year old.) We don''t have a dining room, we have a HUGE TV in there...it''s his entertainment room.
Hey...how the heck does one post pictures here...? I know that there are whole threads about it, but I haven''t seemed to figure it out. I want to be ready for the moment--you know...or, at least to show you all my wicked, wrinkled, veiny, crooked, ringless hands (hee heee...) Or a picture of my shoe chewing puppy dog.
Do you think that Choo Choo just floated off into Happy Land? Where''s the story?
ChooChoo - congrats, girl! We''re dying for details!
I have some interesting, yet unfortunate news. I have a sapphire/diamond/platinum band that my SO gave to me for Christmas last year. He was sooooo excited when he received it, that he gave it to me 3 days before Christmas, and it is my absolute favourite piece of jewelry - I wear it every single day. He originally ordered it as a 5.5, but my ring size is much closer to a 4.5, so I wore it for a while nearly a full size too big. In January, a diamond fell out of the ring. We looked everywhere for it - to now avail. So when I took it to my jeweler to have it replaced, I asked them to size the ring down as well - a decision I should have avoided. As a result, for the past year, I have had to replace 3 other stones, including the same diamond twice and a sapphire once. I am absolutely not hard on my hands as I''m on a computer all day, so I''m sure the problem lies with a shoddy ring sizing.
Well, this Thursday, I had shown my ring to one of my clients - I looked down at the ring while I was showing it to her on my hand, and all 4 diamonds were there. An hour later - POOF! The original diamond I lost in January was gone. I searched and searched around my office, but have still not been able to find it. I called my boyfriend with a pitiful sounding voice, and told him that I lost a diamond - again. Luckily, I have a large lot of white sapphires that I purchased from Thai Gam, that I am planning on replacing the remaining diamonds with. However, my SO knew I was heartbroken to once again, not be able to wear the ring that he gave me. So when I got home, he greeted me at the garage door, and led me inside to our Master Bathroom. He had bought some snapdragons on his way home, and since all of our vases are currently in the attic since we just moved a month ago today - he had them sitting in a tall blue plastic cup.
Then, and completely out of left field, he asks me what he thinks is fair for a 1 carat Asscher - pricewise. I told him that I thought a 1 carat stone would be far too much for my hand, and that I would look in the .55 - .8 range - especially since I think I may really want a 3 stone Asscher as opposed to the solitaire in my avatar. So we sat down in front of Pricescope that night for an hour and priced and researched different Asschers. We talked about my preferences of colour/clarity/weight vs spread/cut. But knowing his financial situation as I do - I knew we were only looking for posterity sake - because both of us are broke trying to pay off our college debt and credit card debt.
So, since my sapphire band is out of commission, I dragged out the small princess diamond (the stone from my first engagement ring given to me at age 19) ring I totally redesigned and had made a couple of years before we met - so I would have something to wear on my left hand - my "I don''t settle" ring, if you will. He asked me about the stats on the stone, and I told him it was sold to me as an H Si2, but that I really thought it was more like a L-M I3. It''s an awfully cut stone - which is why I had it mounted and set low in a very architecturally-inspired flat platinum band. I kind of chuckled at how dumb I was a decade ago for allowing the original stone purchase - and immediately felt awful, because at this point I would take the exact stone from my current SO and wear it proudly as his engagement ring. I asked him if it bothered him that I was a diamond "snob" - and he said "No, I''m glad one of us is, since there''s a diamond purchase coming up here."
So, no decisive answer as to when - but I know it''s coming eventually. We just got our tickets to spend NYE in Las Vegas (which is my home town and where my parents and sister still live) and I think it would be a perfect opportunity for an engagement. After all, it''s Vegas - and to hear him say it, I am Vegas to him.
But I''m probably just jumping the gun.
