I had my first beer a few weeks ago. Actually, it was half a bottle of peach beer. So, I''m far from a VB''s.

Whoa! It''s ''good'' in a different way. The slogan is ''Fosters...Australian for Beer (in strine, of course.)''

You''ve got to look great in a bikini, but that last one is just my opinion.
Give me a couple of weeks down under, and it''ll come back. Katebar has heard me. Wonder what she makes of my accent.Date: 1/19/2009 12:11:25 AM

This is definitely a much better way to promote tourism than those horrible ads with Lara Bingle. Oddly enough I''d have no desire to apply even if I was sans kids. I definitely do not have the complexion for the Queensland climate as I found out whilst living in FNQ a few years ago.
Harriet I''d love to hear you speak ''strine, although you do realise that Queenslanders, particularly those in the North have their own special way of speaking it (no offense to any Queenslanders who may be reading this).
Pale for me, but if I really want to go for happy, I''ll go sparkling.Date: 1/20/2009 12:33:18 AM

Ahh yes Coopers - pale ale or sparkling??? But nothing beats Little Creatures.

OK guys...
First of all, Fosters here is a CANADIAN beer. It''s brewed up there. Which is still an improvement over some of this American stuff, but not by much.
Secondly, don''t they say they call it XXXX for a reason?
Thirdly, TGuy is from Adelaide, which means COOPERS! Damn good beer. I also like James Boag, and I will admit, Crown as well.
OK, would it make you feel better if I told you I like crown because it brings back memories of frollicking in the warm waves of the beaches of Port Douglas on a balmy night while kissing a South African?Date: 1/20/2009 12:54:54 AM

I am shocked, I can''t stand crown, it is cheap beer in a fancy bottle, though come to think of it I don''t think I have ever drunk Coopers in my life.
I love a good XXXX, have ever since I was a little kid - ahhhh fond memories of XXXX TV ads are flooding back to me .
If I feel like less of a bogan beer Beez Knees (it is a honey wheat beer micro brewery brew)is yummy and Blondies are awesome low carbie goodness.

Girl, you haven''t tried Coopers? That''s a beer that''s still owned and made by aussies!
TGuy''s friend bought all the gear we needed to become bogans. I am a proud owner of some Holden slippers and some seriously bad eyeshadow.
Ah, I should clarify that the holden slippers came in a boxed set - with THONGS!Date: 1/20/2009 1:33:21 AM

Yes, your reasons are quite acceptable .
I am seriously like 99.9% certain I have never ever drunk Coopers beer, though I have plans for Australia Day so this could well and truly become my mission this weekend.
HAHAHAHAHA holden slippers (maybe I should get FI some to go with his commodore *giggle*), now you and T-guy just need a matching mullets, flannies and thongs and maybe a pair of stubbies for T-guy LOL.

Mullets are taken care of (TGuy got a black wig and I got a blonde big haired one as part of the package). We got some crazy car racing T-shirts, trashy mags, a Port Power dummy for Amelia as well as sippy cups for her that were rebranded with the XXXX logo.
Awesome huh?
