Now that the post-season is solidly underway...who are you rooting for??? PSr's MUST be fans of baseball--after all, there is a DIAMOND involved!!!

I'm a huge Cincinnati Reds fan and although I was disappointed by the loss of Game 1 of the NL Division 1 game, I have to give props and congrats to Roy Halladay for an almost perfect game and a no-hitter!!! It was a bittersweet loss, mostly made easier by his fantastic pitching.

FI is a die-hard Yankees fan from the right coast...they've enjoyed 2 wins thus far...I hope his team doesn't end up playing mine!

I am a die hard Phillies fan and SO is a die hard Reds fan. We're goin to the game tomorrow...I'm psyched!

The reds are unfortunately not going to the World Series this year :cheeky:

Ha! Says you, AN! I'm looking forward to Chapman pitching some of his 103's or 105's to your Phillies manana...just happy that tomorrow's pitching lineup has Arroyo starting instead of what's his name...

Glad to see another baseball fan who is excited as I am about the post-season! :appl:

Pffffff...you must not have watched the phillies destroy the reds during the summer when we swept your asses. sorry...my baseball attitude is emerging. chapman is phenomenal, however you cant just win with good pitching you need good hitting too.

Its oooooonnnnnn Monarch!

You and SO would get along so nicely. He drags me out to see the reds play every year....misery!

I'll be in the 7th row behind the red's dugout tomorrow with baseball shaped sunglasses on...look out for me cause SO will be the only one wearing a Reds jersey (ugh). P.S. you better hope cordero isn't closing out.

DF--no way do I "remember" players from the big Red machine...I wasn't even born then!!!

If you're referring to Concepcion, Griffey (Senior!), Bench, Morgan, Perez, and Rose...yeah, I've heard of 'em.

I absolutely remember listening to the news when my dad picked me up from school once a week in the 80's when Pete Rose was big news for his gambling scandal.

The Reds were a big part of my childhood. When I moved to Chicago in 2001, my father made me PROMISE not to become a Cubs fan. And by "promise" I mean he said he would DISOWN me if I gave up my loyalty to the Reds club.

Some of my favorite and best memories from my childhood and teenage years are watching Reds games with my dad.

I have Griffey, Jr.'s Upper Deck rookie card stashed away somewhere. And DF, you would absolutely die if you knew what my father has done for a living the past 20-some years. xoxo!

DF--I do appreciate you contributing to this thread. We always need "old timers" like you to introduce some nostalgia. :naughty:

Right ON. I wish I'd witnessed the days of baseball when players were all natural.

Remember the Robert Redford movie "The Natural"? Now THAT was a great baseball movie.

I also remember watching the 1998 (give or take) playoff between McGuire and Sosa for homeruns...and being so disappointed later on to find out that McGuire was roided out and Sosa was a corker. My dad has the largest bat collection in the midwest and never found a corked bat among his collection. I could talk about baseball FOREVER!!!!

What are your predictions for the post season?

Mine are as follows:

Yankee's in 4, Rangers in 3, Giants in 5, Phillies in 3 (maybe 4)

Yankees in 5 against the Rangers, Phillies against the Giants in 4

Phillies against Yankees in 7

Tell your SO to check out the front page of the NY Times....guess who was on the front? Phillies...on a NY times cover while their hometown team won their game hahahaahhahaha

Like Harry Carrey said, "HOLY COW!!!"

A girl after my own heart!

Yeah yeah yeah...

Ok. So your SO is from N. Jersey. Mine is from CT. No DOUBT they'd be at each other's throats, HILARIOUS!

I like to keep it civilized...so I'll keep the sh*t-talking to a minimum and keep it here (especially since we don't know each other on any other forums or social networks!) Also because I like you, AutumnNovember and so far we've kept up sort of a nice friendship here on PS!

Predictions are just not my thang, though. I'm not a gambler, and I'm not usually a sh*t-talker unless my team makes it this far...so I really have nothing to offer. Should I ask FI his thoughts and post them here tomorrow??? Sorry to disappoint...I started this thread just looking for fan participation and not really anticipating such rabidness! LOL!

Again, this has been a lot of fun (thanks again DF), and I really appreciate your participation, AN! I'm super jealous that you're going to the game tomorrow! Last time I was at Great American it stormed so bad we had to leave before the first pitch was thrown. Boo!
