Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

I know we have a lot of international ps-ers here (MSB,etc) but my gripe with the US and recalls is that in this country, corporations care so much about the bottom line that any and all integrity goes right out the window. I know it is more cost effective to manufacture items in China, but to keep costs RIDICULOUSLY low, there are simply no checks and balances to ensure product safety.

Then we get some b.s. party line about how it would raise the cost to consumers to produce items in the US. Not to mention jobs being outsourced. Its a disease that is slowly eroding our economy. Sure, things are cheaper, but there are effects of this on the other side of that equation that are canceling out the benefits.

I think consumers need to band together and refuse to buy from companies who are manufacturing overseas (and it doesn''t matter what country you live in, if your country is importing goods that are coming from someplace where they are using cheap labor, and unsafe practices, its no good) without checks & balances to ensure product safety (hello dog & cat food? my animals had some weird symptoms for awhile) then we need to put a stop to it.

I''d rather buy less and pay more to make sure my family is safe.

Sometimes I just want to "stick it to the man".

I wonder how Elaila and the twin babies are doing.

Tacori: Wow, it sounds like Miss Tessa has colic.

Okey dokey.....I''m outta here.

I loved "Belly Laughs". Q, I also suggest a journal. I loved my "Belly Book." I think Tessa will enjoy reading it someday.

Jas, I think the "push present" is fairly common. I knew about it before I joined PS. I personally want something like a stack ring that I can also get for future children (stack them all together). I would love bigger studs but know I would want to upgrade, and upgrade and I am too sentimental. Don''t worry about the recalls. Anything that is recalled is pulled from the shelves ASAP.

Msb, thanks for asking. We just got back from the doctor. Tessa is now 8 lbs 7 oz (gained a little over a pound since her last appointment) so they are not worried about her starving
2.gif
They did give me a script for a reflux medicine. We are going to try it for a month. Hopefully it will help her sleep and be happier. I am sure it is painful. So how funny, she has a little head! It is 10%
23.gif
The doctor said as long as it grows he is not worried. No wonder hats look so HUGE on her! So her weight is still 25% and her height has dropped to 50% (it was 75% at her last appointment). He said (besides her baby acne) her skin looks good. No indication that she is allergic to my milk or the formula. Her doc is so nice and told me how I was doing a great job and we need to get her on a 2.5-3 hour feedings to make life easier for me. I cannot be a human pacifier!!!

Diver, I HOPE not! I am hoping it is just reflux and this medicine will help. ***please, please, please*** It is so random. Yesterday she hardly cried at all. There is no pattern to it. The doctor was so funny. He said she should be smiling soon and that will make EVERYTHING better (and worth it).

Ella, hope you and the babies are all doing well. Check in when you can!!!

I cannot be a human pacifier!!!

Tacori-
Had to laugh with that description.
My sister complained about the same thing with her son.
Said that he took a while to feed, and it''s not because he''s a slower eater, but rather because he was just playing around.
Anyway, yay for getting your e-ring on. I''m sure you missed it.
And great news on Tessa''s progress. Sounds like she''s growing like a weed.
We''ll need to see her in her X-mas outfits soon.

MrsS--
You are just gorgeous! Pregnancy definitely suits you.
There is no way you''ve gained 20 lbs.
You look like one of those actress in movies sporting a fake belly, in a good way of course.
You know what I mean. You are all slim and just belly! I''m so jealous.

FD21Bride--
Congrats on your little girl.
You are so close, so I''d cherish the "quiet" time and rest up

msb and Tacori made some good suggestions. This thread is a great way to pass time-- it''s like watching a soap opera.
Personally if I have some spare time, I''d pick up crocheting or knitting or scrapbooking and make something for my little one.

MrsS--
Forgot to say that you are tiny!

aw lili, you are sweet to say so, but i guarantee, i''m not
39.gif
but it''s all totally worth it in the end

thanks DS, tacori, kaleigh, jas, qtiekiki, msb for the nice words too

tacori, i hope tessa doesn''t have colic either, hopefully the medicine from her dr. will do the trick. oh and i like the band from antiqueengagementrings...so pretty!!!

Hey mssalvo, you look fabulous!!!! And extremely happy as well!
2.gif

lili, sometimes she is so hungry she empties both boobs and then we give her a formula bottle.
20.gif
The doc seemed impressed that she eats 3-4 oz a feeding at this age. I am so sore from it all! We really need to try to "train" her. Doctor's orders!!!

MrsS, I hope she doesn't have colic either
38.gif
I'll tell you one thing we have discovered (wish we tried it sooner). When she is just screaming for no reason (diaper dry, tummy full) we turn on our dyson. Puts her to sleep (the white noise).; DH calls it our $500 noise maker. It works 80% of the time. Right now I am running it AND she is swaddled. She spit out the pacifier though. I am trying to hold off feeding for another 30 mins. That will be 2.5 hour stretch (I am trying to take it slow). But if she is still sleeping at 5 I'll wait it out. I NEVER wake her to feed. Why ruin a good thing?!?
2.gif
We all had a restless night. I need a nap! It wasn't that she was THAT fussy but she hardly slept. I woke up so many times to see her staring off into space or whimpering.

njc, if you are reading I am thinking about you and your baby boy. Hope nursing is going better for ya!

Sorry for the short post and run but wanted to update everyone on Baby C. Many many thanks for your input.
13.gif

Baby C was very sick last night. Threw up about 5 times, and a few more times this morning. Doc said to keep nursing small meals but often. Oh well, there goes my night weaning which I was about to start this week.

Chrono I hope baby C feels better soon and that it is nothing serious!

..

Chrono, I was hoping it was teething. Damn.

Hope he's better soon!

So this is the front runner for my 'push present'. Even though I wanted all sapphires this is a really good price and I can't find what I want ready made ANYWHERE. What do you all think???
Tacori, I like the one in the picture considering your other rings. I'd like rose gold with pink diamonds, but pink sapphires might be too much unless they are pale, IMO.

One other idea. Look at this Leon page. Top row, middle. Have him make you a single pink band. Then next baby, another, and so on. You can later have the soldered together like this one once you have your family complete! I thought that ring was perfect for MrsS who will soon have 2 girls and a boy!

oooh, here's another pretty one if you want rose gold!

Just a quick check-in to update you all on our babies!! (Sorry, I haven''t read any of the posts in the past few pages, so I know I''m missing lots of stuff to comment on -- hope to catch up soon!)

So, my water broke at 1:15 am Wed. morning, we got to the hospital at about 2:30 and by then I was having full-on contractions -- about one a minute!! I was SO not expecting to go into labor, so the combo of the pain of contrax and the shock that it was actually happening was so overwhelming! I got my spinal at about 4 am, and at 4:08, Gabriel Jacob arrived and then Katelyn Isabelle made her appearance at 4:10 am. He weighed 5 lbs, 12 oz, and she was 4 lbs, 9 oz -- both came out kicking, screaming, and crying -- yeah!!! They''re both doing great and eating like champs! We have to supplement them with formula, but they''re both latching on like pros and sucking pretty well at about every other feed, I''d say. Not bad for less than two days old.
36.gif
I *hated* pumping at first, but it''s getting slightly better. I mean, it ain''t fun. At all. But it''s getting sliiiiightly better each time. But jeez, seeing your nipples look like cocktail weiners is a sight, isn''t it??

I''m a nonstop feeding machine -- feed him first, then her, then pump. Have about an hour to relax and/or eat and then it starts all over again. It''s hectic, but it''s awesome
21.gif
I''ve had some good skin-on-skin time with both babies, and that is just the most incredible thing to feel your little nekkid baby all content and comfy and happy against you, all sleepy and just ... ahh, I don''t know ... it''s just lovely.

OK, it''s time to feed!! Hope you''re all doing well! Maybe tomorrow morning I can catch up on all the posts I missed and see what''s going on with you all!

Love from Ella, Q, Katelyn, and Gabriel -- thanks for all the good wishes!!

A BIG CONGRATS to you and your fam! I am so happy for you and can''t wait to see photos of them. I can''t believe they are here. Yay!!!!

Mrs S, great preggo shot...I knew you''d be tiny. Yes, I know I owe you all pics, but I tried today and even my new camera couldn''t save me. It was dark and I tried to zoom and take pics with higher ISO in low light and it''s too grainy. Will try again tomorrow.

Ella, congrats! Geez, time flies - I remember the post of you announcing you were having twins and it seemed not that long ago!

This thread does move too fast for me to catch up on, so if I''ve missed any new babies, congrats!

Ellaila: you are my hero!! CONGRATULATIONS! I can''t believe how chipper you sound, that''s fabulous. Enjoy those delicious babies in all their newness.
