Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Radiant--
Sorry about the food aversion.....but it'll pass.
Hang in there for a few more weeks.

Ella--
Love the magazine cover!!!
30.gif

It's the sweetest thing I've seen.
Now, how about some frontal views of those darlings for us?

MrsS--
What a cute belly.
It really looks like you have a tiny basketball underneath there.

Jas12 and TGal--
Can't wait to see yours.

Oh, forgot to ask--

MOMS--how long does the ''still look 5 months preggo'' thing last after having the baby??? I know this will vary from mom to mom, but for you, when did your uterus shrink back enough to get away will just looking chubby as opposed to still looking pregnant?

[And yes, I am asking for vanity reasons, i am wondering what the heck i''ll look like for the mandatory events i am scheduled to attend in the weeks/months post-birth (a wedding, a charity event i help run, my welcome-baby shower etc.)]

jas12, everyone is different, but i was back in my normal clothes in about 2 weeks. I had to wear my *bigger* jeans for a couple more weeks after that but the weight always came off me very quickly. I think much of it had to do that i worked out my whole pregnancy and my body just remembered and wanted to get back there. But, seriously, there is just no way to know...

Yes, I was offering peace b/c there are just some things that we won''t agree on and I certainly have strong opinions (no shrinking violet here

Ella, SO cute mag cover. Love it!

MrsS, cute belly. You look great and two weeks! Arggg...
14.gif
I am still so chubby after 3 months. But then I remind myself that I am not working out. I have no energy for anything at 2 hour sleep stretches. I really look horrible! Oh and my hair is falling out. Fun fun!!!

The play date was fun! I got some cute pics and it was cool to see older babies. Tessa started to get cranky, no nap, wants food. She fell asleep in the car on the way home. It''s just nice to spend time with grownups even if all we do is talk about babies.

Better feed the monster. I''ll be back later.

re: sleeping positions...
I wouldn''t sleep this way, but I found a comfy way just to be on my tummy for a while. I have a body pillow that I form into a donut. I lay with my tummy in the donut hole and there is no pressure when I do that. I''m trying to get some good ''tummy time'' so the kid will go into the proper anterior position because I spend way too much time lounging, which doesn''t help.

Is that suppose to help get the kid in position?

RE: Sleeping
Hate to tell you ladies but it doesn''t get much better. For those of you nursing it can be painful sometimes to sleep on your belly (and not suggested b/c it can hurt your milk flow) or even the side. It is hard to sleep on my back after not for so long! Plus if you have a baby like mine I still only get a 2-3 hour break in between feedings (stop to start time)

By the way Tessa held hands with a boy today!
30.gif
I am sure it was an accident but we were taking their pictures and the little 5 month boy grabbed her hand. it was so cute.

Awee how sweet. So did you get a snapshot of it?

So they recommend sleeping on your back then if you are nursing?
Mother nature just doesn''t make it easy for us mothers.
We have to learn to sleep on the side when we are preggo
and untrain what we learned and go back to our back.

Forgot to ask if you still needed to BF Tessa the special method for your clogged duct.

Lili, no, stupid flash delay. His hand is close to hers in the photo I got but not holding. Oh well! Yes, when I was doing research on clogged milk ducts that is what they said (about sleeping positions) back is best. Sucks b/c I LOVE sleeping on my belly. I still do sometimes. I only have to nurse on all fours when I have a clog which hasn''t been for a few weeks now. That one was just a nasty one. I seriously could hardly lift my arm

Oh, I must make my plane must have list. Maybe I should do it in the other thread....

More here in just a sec (gotta go down an make my lunch) but here's what I mean by not being a ball....

I fully plan to wear my maternity jeans MONTHS after pregnancy. I don''t care if I get skinny...these buggers are comfy! (They are the no panel ones). THEN, I will graduate to MOMMY jeans. Yup, highwaisted, tapered ankles and STONEWASH, here I come!!!

Granted, I will have to return to my sexy designer jeans sooner or later because TGuy will divorce me and I will have to lure in another sucker.

Jas, have you had your shower yet? Not having it before the birth?

Tacori, post pics!

TGal--

Ha, I thought the SAME thing!

I do admit I did have a VERY round belly but I am so short I think it would have been impossible to have anything but. I remember njc complained of a square tummy for awhile. She is really tall.

TGal, I feel uncomfortable posting pics of other people''s kids but I have a few new ones of Tessa I''ll post when I remember to upload them.

Ha..OK, I will work on the avatar...

Oh yes Tacori, I totally agree. I was only interested in pics of Tesss, and maybe the backs of the heads of the others...

Tacori--

That''s great that you don''t have any more episodes of clogged duct
5.gif

Yes, more pix of your little beauty is a must.
Also, pix with the mommy would be nice too

LOL! I noticed the sagging boobs too! TGal, I''m sure you have a cute belly.

mrss, it''s all in the belly! You look great. Cute belly.

It''s so unfair that you''re supposed to sleep on your side when you''re pregnant and then sleep on your back when you''re nursing. I didn''t know you are supposed to sleep on your back when you''re nursing and I''m not looking forward to that. I''m naturally a side sleeper. Changing your sleep position is hard to do when your ASLEEP!

Snlee,
I think you still can sleep on your side.
It's probably recommended that you sleep on your back should you have issues with clogged milk ducts.
Is that right Tacori?
It is a pain though to train yourself to sleep in another position.

They''ve sagged flat...like flapjacks. Not visible from the side.

TGal, a preggo should not be inflicting pain on herself though! Not much you can take for the pain
27.gif

Snlee, what is worse is I am a belly sleeper...
7.gif
I do cheat though.

Lili, I think I read you aren''t suppose to sleep on your side either. basically you don''t want pressure on them so I guess it depends on HOW you sleep on your side (more towards or back or belly). In reality sometimes they are too sore for side sleeping (or belly) anyways. I actually think I *might* have gotten clogs b/c no one told me to avoid sleeping on my stomach.
6.gif
It was only after researching that I discovered this. Still I sleep in all the positions.

OMG- tgal....your drawing is sooooooo funny and the new avatar...priceless. totally cracking up over here!!

I have a question about caffeine during pregnancy. Did you cut caffeine out completely when you were/are pregnant? I ask because as we''re TTC, I''m trying to eat healthy and lower my caffeine intake. I don''t want hurt the baby or increase my risk of a miscarriage during those early weeks of pregnancy when you don''t know you''re pregnant. Is a cup of green tea every once in a while okay? What do you think? What do your doctors think?

I''m sure people will have lots of answers on this one.

For me, I am not a caffeine person. I don''t drink soda and while I do enjoy the occasional cup of black coffee with breakfast on weekends, I don''t need coffee like a lot of people do. So if I were to cut out one of the "evils", coffee/soda/tea was the way to go. I chose to OD on sugar instead...hehehe.

Cutting out iced tea was a bit tougher. There''s still caffeine in chocolate, which I definitely didn''t cut out. And if I really want coffee, I''d rather do regular instead of decaf, because it sounds like the chemicals to take the caffeine out might be worse than the caffeine! But my favorite trick at a restaurant is asking for a cup of steamed milk with half a shot of espresso (less caffeine in espresso than coffee). I add a wee bit of sugar and that way I am getting milk with just a smidgen taste of coffee. Works for me.

I really think anything in moderation is OK. The problem is define "moderation."

i hate to say, that I did not. I''m not a coffee drinker expect for a sat. coffee girl time at starbucks where I get decaf. however, I love Coke and during my first trimester it was the only thing that helped ease some of my morning sickness. there is a lot less caffeine in a can of coke than a cup of coffee so i justified my habit that way. basically, it''s not good for us for a bunch of reasons, so if you can give it up, i''d say do it. you''d have to check the ingredients on the green tea. some tea''s are fine, even with a little caffeine but certain tea''s are not recommended.

Snell--The almighty ''they'' are conflicted on caffeine intake during pregnancy--i mostly read that it should be limited to max 2 cups a day--i stayed away from it in the first Tri (along with tons of other stuff when i was still enthusiastic about being preggo and doing thing ''by the books''--ha!) Now however I have a 1/2 cup here and there during the week--and order decaf when i go out very occasionally to starbucks or something.

Mr.S. Two weeks!!! Well, judging by you recent pic, and your claims that you *apparently* gained weight--I am not surprised. Yep, i hate you too!
i know the all-over body weight is different for everyone, but i wondered if the shrinking uterus was a more standard thing--ppl keep warning me that i''ll still look pregnant after the birth and to not be shocked--i guess it goes down slowly over a few days?

Speaking of weight--saw my hairdresser the other day--she had her first son 8 months ago and is still BF--she has always been really small but she is scary thin right now--her body can''t keep up with the milk demand, working, not sleeping etc. she is now on those supplement drinks they give to elderly ppl to increase their calorie intake--weird how some ppl can''t get rid of baby weight and some get rid of too much!

Tgal--LOL--the avatar is so cute!! I need to change mine--i am just so inept at using the computer and too lazy to come up with something cute.

........
On that note--lets see how big or small I make this pic--sorry it is terrible quality--I''ll try to take some better ones soon

34 weeks now--but this was taken sometime last week .....do i get a prize for showing skin
