Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Hey ladies. I get e-mails from EVERYONE. I swear. AmericanBaby.com, Whattoexpect.com, Pampers.com, Enfinmal(sp?).com, Babycenter.com they call send me weekly updates. It''s cool to know what to expect but like MsF said I try not to think about it too much (if something is delayed). She''ll do what she needs to do on her time.

We all know my love for the snap''n go. Ella, I am glad you like the twin one. My neighbor doesn''t like hers.

We are feeling better. DH said I get the night off

Tessa had a MAJOR poop blowout this morning. Pretty exciting stuff!

Jackie, your beans are so cute! I think they look like little roast potatoes and peas...hehehehe...

No, not uber gorgeous, but thanks! However if you''d like to keep that image of me, I won''t stop you. I''m actually great at maintaining "images" when needed...that''s how I got TGuy to move here. I even bought cute bras and panty sets for my visits over to Oz and he thought I was glam. Then he moved here and saw my stash of nude bras and mismatched underwear, but it was too late. Suckaaaa....

Re: Boob increase and flirting. Girl, ENJOY IT NOW! Someone commented to TGuy that my boobs got bigger, and whoo hoo, wasn''t that great? TGuy''s response? "Yeah, but the problem is her stomach is bigger." Bastard! Well hmph. His day of reckoning will come when I have a flabby flat tummy and two engorged rock melons that he can''t touch or play with. Water water everywhere and not a drop to drink...tough nuggies, TGuy...

lili, yeah, I had researched all that on the breastpump ages ago. I would never buy a used one from an unknown source, but I have read it''s OK if it''s someone you know. I''m still up in the air about it...thanks for the heads up though!

Jas, I totally am getting tired of "name that body part." Mostly because I am TOTALLY clueless as to what I am poking at. I had a dream last night that its tiny little feet pressed up against my bellly and I could see them through my thin, membrane like skin. I grabbed the feet and wouldn''t let them go, even as it tried to squirm away and yelled "Ma! Ma! Look, I got feet!" I was so excited to have finally identified a body part!

Ooh...bugaboo eh? Fancy. I feel the same way about my BOB stroller and totally want to take it for a spin but feel kinda stupid doing it sans TTot. I''ve been trying to decide whether I want to borrow someone else''s kid so I can test drive the thing. And Jas, your baby is worth the splurge! Baby stuff is so inherently BORING that if we can get excited about strollers, we should!!!

Wow, 8 ultrasounds Ella? You''ve got all kinds of cool pics for the scrapbook! And I think it''s great to read to them, as I said. You never know what they are absorbing...that''s the fun thing about kids is hearing what they file away and spout out later.

Ellen, I was thinking, huh? Whaddid I say? But ah...mooo. Got it. There''s now another one going on over there and I am trying to stay out of it since I have nothing mooooving to say.
1.gif
And you''re a funny lady, so don''t sell yerself short!

RE: baby center and fruit - I loved that too! Did anyone else take a banana or a mango or a cantalope and put it on their belly and go..."wow." Or is that just me! You should make it a game...whatever fruit they mention that week, you have to go out and buy and eat. It''d be good for you!!

Oh, and the miracle blanket...in the same dream I had last night, the miracle blanket was in it too. In my dream, I couldn''t swaddle with it for the life of me! Made a huge mess of it and felt like a loser. Ended up wrapping it all around my baby''s neck while it looked at me with a "WTF" look on its face. But I got to see HER very well! Yes, a girl. With my eyes and TGuy''s eyelashes and she was very cute. And then she turned into a black baby and was WAY cuter but I was freaked out that TGuy would be afraid that I had gotten down with the milkman. Yes...I think my "announcement" yesterday has started to make this a reality and I''m getting stress dreams!

MsF, hope you are having a better day today and are enjoying the spa!

OK, I lied. I did post on that other thread. Just. So. Hard. To. Resist.

Snlee--i mentioned to DH last night that he''s had it SO easy in the craving dept. I''ve only acted on one craving and that was for a Harvey''s Veggie burger--i am not veggie, but it was overwhelmingly appealing at the time--it was dinner time and not 3am or anything, so poor guy had to go for a burger with me at a reasonable hour (*sniff)...i told him i was going to set the alarm for 4:30 AM and demand Pad Thai or something deliciously UNavailalbe in our boring town. Haha--come through on that big guy
2.gif

I never really had major cravings--although i generally feel like i need sweet stuff every few hours and love candies.
I went through days when i was a bottomless pit, and others where my appetite was normal--it never decreased, even now when there is no room left in me--i don''t miss a meal!

Tgal--that''s some dream! I am dreaming more now too, but strangely nothing baby related--still only the one really distinct ''girl'' dream--but that was months ago--it''ll be so neat to see what we end up having! Prediction: 2 boys by c-section (okay i take that back now--don''t want to jinx anything!)
about the breast pump--I am not too much of a ''germ phob'' so i would probably take the used one. Is there not some way to clean it ?--and what is the main concern? Is it possible viruses the other child/mom had? I am just asking cuz if it''s only a milk issue i don''t see the problem--ppl can donate milk to other babies?
Speaking of ''used'' apparently my MIL thinks i am nuts for bidding on a gently used co-sleeper on ebay (more evil unknown baby germs i guess). This is the same woman who thinks it''s insane i spent nearly 1k on a stroller. I am "high maintenance" one min. and not high maintenance enough the next--sheesh MILs!!

LOL Jas...I think as we continue down the road of motherhood, it will be an ongoing theme that we''re never "juuuuuuuuust right." Everyone''s a critic!

Well, it''s an open system, so it''s *possible* that milk got inside. And yes, it''s a health issue in case the mother has some viruses or something. I would have no hesitation if it was someone I really knew, but since my friend''s sister used it before my friend. Hm.

And I am totally not a germaphobe. Germs are our friends.

Okay ladies I need some advice. You might have caught on by now that I love to plan and be prepared for everything and anything. Just my personality. We are leaving Tessa in April for 4 days with my MIL. We are going to a wedding in mexico and we are still shell shocked by the last flying experience and it is an 8 hour trip
38.gif
We figured it would be better for EVERYONE to leave the monster behind (plus good for our marriage). Anyways, I do not want to lose my milk supply when we are gone so I am planning on pump and dumping (so sad!
7.gif
what a waste!) while in Mexico. The problem is traveling. I can''t go 8+ house w/o pumping. I''ll be in severe pain and tears. I figured I would pump in the bathroom (on the plane probably) My pump is kind of loud. Loud enough for people to maybe think I am doing other things....so my question is should I buy a hand pump (anyone have any experience with them) for the trip? Or do you think it will be loud enough on the plane ANYWAYS (to mask the pump noise)? DH thinks I should just pump in our seats...I think that''s weird. Advice? Also while there should I try to pump when normal feedings are? How much does it take to affect your supply?

lili - Yes, we are going to find out the sex. We really don''t have a gender preference. We just want a healthy baby. I guess we are finding out, so we can buy a few gender-specific outifts. For the most part, we are going to buy neutral things, so we can reuse stuffs for future kids.

Jas - I was all set on getting SwaddleMe blankets by kiddopotamus until Tacori mentioned Miracle Blanket. Now I am going to get the Miracle Blankets instead. I like that they are recommended by hospitals (especially considering I know one of the listed hospitals and it has a great neonatal unit).

Your little beans are so cute. They are right on top of each other. Isn''t it awesome to see your babies on the little screen?

I finally got a bella band and it came on Wed. I used it with my more fitted pre-pg jeans for work yesterday to see how well it works. It made the jeans more comfy to wear. My belly isn''t that big yet, so I fold the band over instead of having it wrap around my belly. So far I like it.

Tacori - Yay for reading. I am sure Tessa is picking up things from your reading. My two nephews (2 and 3 y.o.) are glued to the TV, probably watching more than 8 hrs everyday. I think that''s crazy. I''m with you about limiting TV watching time.

I think you would be ok pumping in the bathroom on the plane. The plane is probably loud enough not for others to hear you pumping. And even if they can hear, don''t worry about it. It''s something that you have to do.

MsF - Did you have a wonderful day at the spa?

Snlee - There''s no such thing as normal # of u/s since every office are so different. I read on other forums/boards that some girls are only getting the "big" u/s during wk 18 - 20. Then there''s some who get the early dating u/s and the "big" u/s, and those who choose to do NT scan get another u/s. High risk pregnancy gets a lot more u/s. So far, I had a u/s for each of my first 3 visits, and will have the "big" u/s. I think that''s probably it for me.

Tgal - Did you get an used Medela from your friend? I read somewhere that Medela is an open system, and milk can get in the motor and mold. That would be my only worry about a used pump.

Q, I have never used a Miracle Blanket. We use a regular waffle blanket (guess we are old fashion). Works great for us though we only swaddle now for extreme distress! I am not worried if people know I am pumping, it is the OTHER things that they might think I am doing which makes me worried.
2.gif

Tacori - They might think you are having too much fun. hehe. I guess that wouldn''t be the first thing I would think of if I heard it on the plane. Maybe I have an innocent mind.

Haha! My pump is pretty loud...but you are probably right. DH said it would be RUDE of me to hog a bathroom for 20 mins. I probably could get away with less and just go more often. Why is BFing SO complicated?!?!

tacori, just do what you need to in order to feel comfortable. I wouldn''t worry what other people think...what you are doing is for a far greater cause in keepin gyour supply up for your sweet Tessa..

p.s. did you ever hear back from pearlmans on the BK band?

MrsS, I think I would feel most comfortable with a hand pump then. No I never heard back from Pearlman''s but I never called (since I have been so sick and didn''t feel like talking to anyone). There is no rush so I guess I will call next week. Still kind of annoying that they didn''t respond to two e-mails.

Tacori, in a couple of months, you little one should likely be feeding a little less often, so this will make things a bit easier for you. Just a thought.

well, i hope you feel better. I would be annoyed to with a lack of email response. I do know Bill was out too sick, not that that is an excuse but they a email i sent had a delayed repsonse too. Did you send the email through the site or out of your email box? I only ask b/c whenever i sent emails through the site info link, they never got through, gotta love the span filter. anyway, keep us posted if/when you call next week. I''m kinda curious myself b/c I''ve got two little girls that i never received push presents for and i''m thinking a couple of sweet little pink bands might just be the ticket
27.gif
and a little blue one for the boy of course
11.gif

off to do my crazy sat. a.m hike
32.gif

happy weekend! It''s sunny here, and sun makes me happy :-)

MrsS. if you do get those pink bands please post--i need some ideas. I haven''t asked for a PP--but DH has brought it up a few times--he''s well informed about this trend!
Have a great hike! What is the weather like where you are? I would love to be outside more but i am afraid of falling on the ice. I go out snowshoeing once in awhile--but that''s all the fresh air i get
Speaking of exercise I just got in from the gym and a zillion ppl asked me when i was due--i stand out like a sore, bloated thumb now! You and your sis must get a few looks of admiration when you are passed on the trails. It''s so nice that you get to have her around. One of my instructors is pregnant now and sometimes we exchange a smile during class when a move is not really pregnant friendly (e.g. today''s side plank with arm and leg extended-boy did i look funny)--its nice to know someone feels the same way you do!

Tacori--i know some ppl prefer to hand pump (seems like lots of work to me-but what do i know) so that may be the solution for you. How nice that you''ll have 4 days with DH--i am sure you''ll miss Tessa like crazy, but like you said, it''ll be good for your relationship!! B/w pregnancy and all the post-partum recovery, intimacy sure takes a hit eh? Alone time is important for your sanity!

LC, we can only hope huh? I had a little talk with miss T saying we should start doing FOUR hour stretches now. I am sure she understands and will obey her mother
20.gif
But you are right, that is almost 2 months from now.

MrsS, I sent one through my e-mail and one through their contact form. I was SO impressed with the Bev K rep. She has e-mailed me probably 10 times and answered all my questions (and even sent me rings she thought I would like!) Very classy and makes me want to buy from them even more. I love your idea of 2 pink, one blue. You deserve something nice for 3 kids (and a few step kids!) MrS is lucky to have you.

Jas, are you having a girl? Did I miss this announcement??? I will miss her. I missed her last night (during my night off where she of course slept 6 hours. Why does DH get all the luck?!?
38.gif
) I don''t even want to think about being away from her that long BUTTTT.....DH is truly my best friend and it will be lovely to just hang out with him, lay by the pool, sleep in, cuddle....(there will be no pregnancy news from me in May. I will make sure of that!)

tacori- i totally hear ya on needing time with your DH by yourself. my hubby and i went to a wedding in chicago when Lily was almost 1 and although I missed my girls it was just so nice to be alone with him, eat dinner without any interruptions and sleep in, which never happens anymore. you will both really enjoy your trip, I''m sure and I''m proud of you for going. a lot of women wouldn''t leave their kids and i think it''s so important to still make solid time for your hubby. i also agree that maybe i should try for 5 bands total since I am a mom to 5 of them...hmmm
2.gif
seriously though, my hubby has been very generous so I don''t want to push my luck too much. oh and try emailing pearlmans directly instead of the site and see if you have better luck. i don''t know if they will get your email until monday but my guess is something happened through the site and all the wackiness they were having the last couple of weeks and they didn''t get it. they are always very good at returning/responding to email: info (at) pearlmansjewelers.com should get you a reply. how is tessa feeling and yourself? so many people in my area have horrible colds/flu right now. i''m just so thankful i went ahead and got the flu shot last fall.

MrsS, I sent an e-mail to that address yesterday (I think, or was it the day before) so hopefully they will get back with me on Monday. I had a flue shot too but this is a URI (which I think isn''t covered with the shot). We are both doing better. I am even planning on leaving the house today!
36.gif
We go to Ohio next weekend so I am just glad it happened when it did so we can be healthy for our trip.

I DO feel like it is a little early to be leaving her. She will be just shy of 6 months but DH is good friends with them and really wants to go for their wedding. We are only going Saturday-Tuesday (the wedding is on a Monday) so really it is only two full days w/o seeing her. I trust my MIL obviously but it will be hard....I''ll have Tessa AND PS withdrawl!

i emailed Bill this morning and mentioned that a pricescoper was waiting on a BK quote and I''d like to get the same quote for myself. he emailed me back just a little while ago and said he didn''t get your emails
33.gif
i''d for sure call him on monday if you can.

leaving her will be hard. I cried the first time I left my girls. so much so my hubby said, "are you sure you want to go?" of course, i was fine but it''s still hard. You''ll do great though and it''s just the right amount of time to be away. you''ll feel so relaxed when you get home it will recharge your battery and you''ll be ready to be mommy again!

Happy Saturday All!
How''s the weather over there?
It''s nice and beautiful here today.
The sun is out and the air is crisp.
Like Jas12, I just love it when it it sunny.

MrsS
I agree with Tacori.
Two pink bands sandwiching a blue one will be awesome
18.gif

Would they be a right hand ring if you do get them?
Wow, 3-mile hike again? You and your sis are really in shape.
How often do you go on these hikes?

Tacori
How much longer is it to express your milk with the hand pump than the electric pump.
I''m sure you''ll miss Tessa like crazy, but this trip is good for you.
The lactation nurse told us in class to have date nights with our DH 4 wks after delivery.

Things here are good, just went for a 3.5 mile walk down the beach and it feels good to be back in action again. One more epidural steroid injections then physical therapy. the spa was ok. it was seriously the cutest place ever, the nursery girls were awesome. the furniture and everything was perfect. one of the aesthisians was sick, so only one of us got a facial (not me:)) and i got an hour long mani/pedi...very nice.

Tacori- I''m so happy you are going to mexico before me...We go the first week in May and Ian will be 7.5 months. I am so excited to be getting away and DH is in a wedding, but how in the world will i manage 4 nights away. thank god my mother in law is good with him...I just hope I dont come back and he wont be the great sleeper he is now!

Tgal that is awesome you are having such vivid dreams, i never had any of my little man. I hope you like the miracle blanket, i have one and it worked ok. Ian hated to be swaddled. HATED IT! he broke out of everything, even the miracle blanket. I had watched and read the happiest baby on the block and was so worried...but he actually started sleeping well at about 5 weeks when i stopped trying!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Tacori--Ha--i had to re-read to see what you were referring to when asking about me having a girl--nope, i still don''t know what i am having--i just meant for her to post the pics so i could get ideas in general for bands--but once i re-read the post i see that she''s going to get a blue one as well....hmm, maybe a subconcious slip cuz i still mostly picture myself with a girl??

Mrs.Flutter-good to hear you are feeling much better! Must feel great to be mobile again!
..............

Off to some opera concert with my mom--she had an extra ticket--i swear anything starting after 8:00pm seems absurdly late to me now. Just had dinner with my SIL (she''s 23) and she was off to shower/change/pick up beer/pick up friends and hit the bar. I am very over that scene but i was thinking yep, there are ppl out there who are just starting their nights at 10pm and i am curled up with a birthing book trying to keep my eyes open
5.gif
oh how life changes
1.gif

MrsS, thanks for asking Bill. Which BK are you interested in? I can''t believe how much energy you have. I am so jealous! All I ever want to do is sleep.

Lili, I am not sure. I timed myself this morning (since it was my night off. Did I mention she slept for 6 hours!?!?
20.gif
Figures DH gets all the luck!) and it took about 2o mins with my mini electric. I think the trip will be good for us too and my MIL is looking forward to spending the time with Tessa.

MsF, he started sleeping well at 5 weeks! I hate you!
2.gif
Wow no wonder you have engery for a 3.5 mile hike too. Oh to sleep again...I am excited about going to Ohio this weekend b/c my MIL comes in our room around 8 and takes Tessa out. It is SOOOOOO nice.
1.gif
We are only going for 3 nights but still...she''ll be so little. Oh well. She probably won''t realize we are even gone. Though she has started staring at me ALL the time. Sometimes she will even stop nursing just so she can look up and smile at me.

Jas, I thought I might have missed something and felt bad! Blue sapphire bands are SO easy to find but pink...not so much. I am just so encouraged about the Bev K bands b/c they are my style and can be custom made (I don''t want an eternity).

So I am really excited about this shower gift I am putting together. Basically it will be a soothing survival box. I am going to get a nice basket (in the color of her nursery) and fill it with: reusable Bra pads, lansinol, soothies (these are great BTW wish I had them in the hospital!), pacis, swaddle blankets, ear plugs (for dad), a copy of our white noise CD, and a bottle of wine. I might put a package of diapers and wipes depending on how much I have already spent. Also maybe her favorite candy/chocolate. I would have been thrilled with this so hopefully she will be too.

hi preggies...hope everyone is feeling well and that your lil'' beans are jumping around.
Tacori: you should start hand pumping once a day now so that by the time you go it''ll be easier to do on the plane. i pumped with the electric pump, but i forgot it on a trip and had to buy a hand pump along the way. it was so awkward and difficult to do since i was used to the electric one. i wound up (
20.gif
TMI) squeezing in a hot shower just to relieve myself because the hand pump didn''t get as much out--plus it took A LOT longer to do.

NYC, thanks for the tip! Would you suggest that or just take my chance with my battery one? I''ve done the hot shower thing too. That always is a relief but the problem is you have to take a shower.

MrsS, BTW who should I ask for when I call? I can''t believe they didn''t get either e-mail. How strange!

tacori in all honesty i''d say take the electric pump and screw what the people on the plane think---you''ll never see them again...lol...have fun in mexico.

Oh, you got the battery operated one.
In that case, it probably won''t make too much of a difference.

Hehe, don''t you just hate that when she sleeps well for him?
Almost makes a liar out of you
2.gif

I think Tessa knows when you are around and just wants to be up and play with you.
Has your MIL taken care of Tessa overnight before or is this the first time?

Jas12--
It wouldn''t surprised me that you and TGal have a girl since you guys dreamt about your baby girl.
Anyway, have you picked out any names yet?
It is getting pretty close. You guys are in the final month already.
You never know, you go anytime soon.
