Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

AWWWWW! MrsS....he is so stinkin cute! he is a pretty big guy for a few weeks old, did he lose much weight after he was born? It makes me remember when Ian was that small...before his legs got so chubby that it looks like there are rubber bands lost somewhere in the chub@

Hope you are doing well and enjoying the little guy!

Awwww...MrsS- Jake is ADORABLE!!!! I''ve been away for a few days and I missed alot- trying to catch up!!! Hope you and the fam are well!!!
1.gif

Awwee...MrsS, he''s just a cutie.
Such a big guy too for 2 weeks.
My little one is puny compare to Jake.

Thanks for the response on the lochia.
My hospital discharge paper had me worried a bit because it said that if I noticed any red discharge after 4-6 days of delivery, I should notify the doctor.
Anyway, emailed my doctor and all is good...
they said what you said.

Jas12
I know you are mesmerized with your little Cohen
5.gif

but do check in to let us know that you are doing ok.
I hope all is well.

MrsMitchell

It''s very likely water retention that you see in your thighs.
I thought that I''ve beefed up on my legs while preggo.
I am serious about the increase in girth -- filled up most of my pant legs.
They''ve gotten so chunky that there were no gap between the thighs.
When I got home on the second day, I noticed that they gap is there again.
And sure enough, I think 1 1/2" melted away.

Too bad this tummy flab isn''t part of the water retention

Snlee
Don''t worry about the weight gain.
Like you, I was really concerned about the 30 lbs that I would put on.
Didn''t think that I would be able to carry myself throughout the day with that much more weight.
But since the weight come on gradually, your body get acclimated to it.
Plus, if you eat healthy, most of the gain will be from the baby and placenta.

We need more preggo pix
3.gif

Come on...don''t be shy.

Woo, this thread moves so fast, I feel like I should add a disclaimer at the end of my post: "Sorry to anyone I missed, it''s not intentional!"

Jen, I''m sorry that you are getting all the unpleasant side effects back! Yay for feeling good about where you are going to deliver and LOL on the car situaiton! I seem to remember you were nervous about delivery earlier (who isn''t?!??) and I''m so glad you have found somewhere that is right for you.

Jackiejas, yay on the good weather, and LOL on the pie filling. I laughed at your description of the GTT.

Diver, yay for you on the Botox-good on you for doing something for yourself! LOL on the belly girl pic-she is gorgeous! You are pretty gorgeous yourself-don''t beat yourself up about the weight. Yay for losing all of your Delaney weight already!! Do you mind posting photos of the BOB when you get it? I was thinking about it as my primary stroller but we have a car with a small boot (trunk) so I don''t know if it would fit.

Burk, super cute photos of Tayva! I hope she''s feeling better!

Ella, Gabe is gorgeous! Love the photos of the kiddies smiling-makes me smile too! You were a tiny preggo so I''m betting you''re a pretty hot mama!
2.gif
The high waisted jeans are coming back for sure.

Tacori, I am so excited for you on the push pressie! Can''t wait to see photos! If I haven''t said it already, love your new avatar-Tessa is just
30.gif

TGal, I''m in Melbourne. I love it here! In the summer when we go to the beach there are a few sandflies but nowhere near what you get further north. Where is your hubby from? How often do you guys get to visit? Love the ''papparazzi'' pics of A-sleeping babies are just awwwww.....

Qtiekki, you are the cutest preggo! It is seriously all in your belly-I am already jealous because I know I won''t look like that at 25 weeks!

Neatfreak, congratulations and welcome! I am joining in on the stroller research so I''ll post what I''ve found when I get a chance.

Sk8rjen, I hope you have had a chance to rest with one of yours away! Yay on feeling well and the spotting settling down!

Kay, thanks for the suggestions-I have been drinking soda water with a slice of lemon instead of my usual g&T but some of my more suspicious colleagues are on to me I think. That''s the problem with working with Drs!
5.gif

snlee, yay about the ms settling down! Have you told everyone already or are you going to do that now? Great results on the screening-yay for you!

Bobo, I hope B is feeling better soon. Not fun.

Jess, welcome back! How are you doing?

MrsS, what a cutie! Amazing how attentive he is even at two weeks!

Eph, LIA
, how are you going?

Love those baby pics-keep em coming!!

Just popping in to say congrats to all the new mommies! Mrs. S., Jake is just adorable.

I keep having dreams about my niece, I still haven''t gotten to go visit her, but DH is insisting we will find the money so I can go down to see her on my b-day in may. In my dreams I see her bouncing around and just being a total cutie, must be based on pics I''ve received. She must just know how much I am in love with her so she is inundating my dreams.

I love this thread but can never keep up, forgive me for not naming names and giving credit to all you wonderful mommies! You are all doing great, and every time I read it seems like I don''t have time to post! Anyway, all of your babies are gorgeous and I am loving being able to see the results of your labor (horrible pun, sorry.) Thanks for posting and allowing some of us sans-kiddies peeps take part in your experiences.
35.gif

Monarch, I''m so glad you''re going to be able to make the trip soon. It will be amazing to hold that little baby in your arms for real!

Mrssalvo, he''s adorable! Such a cute, determined little face. You are so blessed.

Gemma, I think I was mostly scared of a high tech medical birth. I have a real problem with hospitals. This way, I can go as an outpatient to a much more relaxing environment but have the comfort of knowing the intervention is right next door if I should need it. I would have preferred a home birth but we''re just too far from a hospital for the midwife to be happy about it. I''m feeling much better having seen the midwife unit and (does this sound mad?) I''m actually quite looking forward to it now.

Lili, thank you for the reassuring words! I can''t wait to see them shrink LOL. Ah, who cares? I''ll have a baby as compensation! I can always wear wide leg pants for the rest of my life!
9.gif

Bobo, any update? Hope things are improving.

Hope you''re all doing well.

Jen

Bobo how is your little guy doing? Just wanted to check in and see if he is better.

Welcome, Pavelover. I just read about your BFP on the TTC thread. Yay!!!

Aww Q thanks so much for the warm welcome! I am excited to have that BFP but a little anxious too! I have really enjoyed reading everything you guys experience while I was working on ttc. There is lots of wisdom and good tips too. How are you feeling these days?

Gemma, thanks. I think I might be ready to change it soon though. I have too many cute pics to use!
2.gif

MrsS, Jake is adorable! Congrats again.

Ella, I still haven''t gotten my period. Not sad about it. Wonder how much longer it will last. I did cut out my night time feeding since she sleeps longer with formula (plus rice) and that was DH can help me out more. It was painful, but now I can go to 6pm to 6am.

Tessa LOVES her exersaucer! I suggest y''all get one if you don''t have one yet. She has been in her''s for an hour now full of giggles and laughs.

Thanks for asking Mrs. Mitchell & Pavelover, little B is still having diaherra but not as frequent as the past three days so I guess he is getting better sort of speak.

question for all the mommies, how do you select a pedictrician? how do you know if he/she is a good doctor and the medical group they belong is a good one?

little B. has been waiting on a eye referal for 2+ months now and it'' still waiting to get approve by his medical group...

Hi all -- my new "favorite" in-law comment came at dinner last night (I''m in the middle of a whirlwind in-law get-together tsunami): Is your doctor comfortable with all the weight you''re putting on?

Worst of all is DH insists that this was an innocent question because I''m showing now. I just try to remember that in many ways, he is clueless despite having three sisters.

Suffice it to say I can''t wait for the three or four upcoming in-law laden events in the next three weeks.
9.gif

Anyway, Mrssalvo, what a cutie pie. I love that picture!
Bobo -- good luck with everything. Sending you lotsa healthy baby vibes.
lili -- so good to see you! How are things?
Hey Gemma!
Congrats Pave!
Howdy Tacori!

Off to vacuum cabinets (don''t ask)
I am SOOOO happy it''s been sunny here! Hooray!

That''s good to hear Bobo.
Hope he feels much better today.

That''s insane about the wait for the eye referral. Can you call them and harrass them to get it going?
Unfortunately, I''m in the same boat as you in terms of finding a good pediatrician.

NF and pave, congrats again and welcome!
36.gif

Kay, I''m not doing an amnio. I''m in my mid-twenties so I don''t feel like there''s a need to with my test results.

Gemma, I''ve told close family, my boss, some co-workers, and friends. Still slowly telling people and for the rest, I''ll let my belly do the talking. I think I''ve started to show a bit last week. My DH says I look bigger. I wonder when someone will notice and ask.

MrsS, Jake is adorable! What a big boy!

Bobo, I hope B feels much better today.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

AAAHHHH---i am SO out of the loop i hardly know where to begin--sorry if this is a disjointed post---it''s bits and pieces from the past 2 weeks

first off--i have been MIA b/c i am staying at my parents (who do not have internet access right now b/c apparently they dig the 80s and so no need to advance along with the rest of the world) anyway--the reason being: there is major construction going on outside my house, jackhammering out the roads and we have no water--it started the day after i came home from the hospital and will continue ALL summer!!!
39.gif
don''t know what we''ll do for the next month or two....

also, i posted many times in the past few days and for some reason i kept getting system errors.....so my update is late and this is old info...

Co is doing great, he is a little peanut. BF has been going very well, i am sore, but he is feeding well and takes a bottle when i pump. I went on my first solo outing to the gym for an hour last week and Charlie fed him when i was out so it felt very liberating and it''s nice to get the one hour away a few times this week as well.
This week we were completely on our own and it''s a little overwhelming but not as bad as i thought. i have to go out at least a few times each day, at least for a walk or to run an errand, geez babies require a lot of gear just to leave the house for a 1/2 hr -lol.

I had some days of baby blues the first week that have seem to subsided. I was feeling (still am a bit) a little guilty b/c i was having ambivilent feelings about motherhood--i always wanted to be a mom so i expected to be overjoyed and just feel an overwhelming sense of luv and devotion the minute he/she was born- but it took some warming up to--i feel back to my old self, more or less, now. Hormones are a b*tch and i am glad they have evened out!

I''ve lost most of the baby weight--have about 10 lbs to go which i am okay with. My belly button looks like a streched out canyon, yuck -i am hoping that goes back to normal?!

Tgal--I luv your attitude about everything, you are such a trooper and you are right, you gave BF a great shot, amelia will be just fine, and time to move on. I too have read that skin on skin is a large part of the developmental puzzle, so no worries--with a mom like you she already has a huge advantage in life!!
As for bottles--Charlie feeds Co with the Adiri natural nurser bottle--newborn, stage one flow, check them out, i really like it (and they are BPA free). He has to work for the milk and it develops their mouth muscles similar to BF--which is apparently importnat.
I didn''t get a chance to read thru all your posts, but were you ever checked for possible ''leftover'' placenta in your uterus--apparetnly it is rare but if a piece was missed and is still in your body it can cause lack of milk production b/c the body still thinks it is preggo (it is also dangerous to you)--just thought i would mention it even tho you have moved on from BF....

Tacori--glad you enjoyed your trip--the T pics are scrumptious

Ella--OMG--K is changing so much!
9.gif
and Gabster is a dolly

Lili- J is too gorgeous--Co is jealous of her hair--he is as bald and fair as they come

jackie--kicks are the best--hiccups, not so much (for me anyway) enjoy the movements. I miss that, when my tummy grumbles now i mistake it for baby kicks and have to remind myself i am no longer pregnant

Diver--glad you liked your botox results--a few of my friends had it done and said the same thing--a subtle, but good difference--and you look great mama, so don''t be hard on yourself!

Jen--glad you are feeling better

MrsS--wow, jake is gaining like a champ--i go for my check-up on friday, interested to see how Co is gaining cuz he eats like it''s always his last meal!

hope to catch up more later....

Awee...Jackie
Sorry that you are exposed to those type of comments
8.gif

My advice is to just let it go in one ear and out the other.
I don''t know why the relatives are harping at you for your weight gain.
From what I recall, you gained less than what I did at this point and I was a singleton
41.gif

I forgot, were you going to find out the sex of the bebes or be surprised?

Jas, please don''t feel guilty! The first few months are the toughest (so far for me anyways). Lots of work with little rewards. Once the giggles and smiles come it makes EVERYTHING better.

Jackie, I feel your pain! It is their problem not yours. Please ignore them (though I know first hand easier said than done).

Baby center store vent!!! So I have noticed this before but it still pisses me off. I hate how you cannot combine offers (like free shipping with 15% off) Grrr! Makes me so angry.

Also DH bought himself a little treat today
20.gif
New plasma TV. I guess he felt he needed a push pressie too
38.gif
I am not too annoyed b/c his 30th is coming up but it kind of makes me mad he didn''t discuss it with me first. I guess it is my fault since I bought his Apple TV as an early b-day present and I guess our old TV was not compatible. Oh well!

So tired. I am going to try to go to bed early.

Thanks Tacori and Lili -- I am actually not bothered by the comments so much as dumbfounded by the brazeness of it all. I have my fun..I looked at this lady and said with a very straight face that my doctor has clapped about my weight gain. She didn''t know what to say at that point.
11.gif

Lili -- we''ll find out next week about the sex of the babies 5/5!

Jas -- Good to see you!

Ah Jas12...
Glad you checked in.
Was wondering where you''ve been.
Sounds like you are doing pretty good...even hitting the gym already.
Wow, 10 lbs to go...not bad for 3 weeks out.
At the rate you are going, you''ll be back in your pre-preggo state within the next couple of weeks.

That''s awesome that Co is taking the breast and bottle.
Makes it easy to leave him with Charlie when you need to make a quick run to somewhere.
My wee one doesn''t like the bottle, so the other day when I had to run to Target to get some mat. tank,
she was crying her heart out because she was famished.

I''ll need to train her to take the bottle after this week.

Hehe, thanks. She does have alot of hair.
I was really surprised to see all those hair -- guess she takes after her dad.

thanks Jas, and good luck on your upcoming in-law events. Just ignore the comments on the weight.

Thanks lili, I''ve been harrasing them almost everyday. but they just give me the runaround...our health care system really sucks..

thanks snlee & Gemma12! little B is feeling better today.

MrsS, Jake is such a cutie!

Hola!

Love the weekend...TGuy is home and able help out. Although I did want him to enjoy his weekend so had him go play basketball with his buddies and hang out a bit for a beer.

neatfreak...ok how weird is this...I had a dream we did have GTG! Except I didn''t see you in my dream, but we did take pics of our e-rings together. I''m on PS way too much. I love your reset btw...it''s just stunning. You know I love the more modern, streamlined look!

Bobo, hope things are better with your little one?

Curlygirl, lol on lollipop as a nickname. I tried that today, but somehow we are now calling her "bubby." I think it might be an Australian thing?

btw, re: bugaboos...there are some 2007 discontinued colors on sale now for 20% off. A nice deal if you aren''t overly picky about colors.

lili, my spotting only lasted two weeks. Maybe because I had a c-section? By week three I no longer needed pads or anything.

Ella, I hear ya on the saggy belly (and I WISH I only had 5 pounds to go, but it''s only be a month so I''m not fussed). It''s scary...I always had a tummy before, but now it''s beyond flabby. It''s...FLAPPY!
23.gif

About periods...eek! I forgot I was supposed to have them. I LOVED not having them. I never even thought about it. So now I will say that next to feeling the baby move, not having periods is the best thing about pregnancy. I will need to get BC pill Rx at my 6 week checkup. I can see why you''d be sad Ella...hugs to you that Aunt Flo paid you a visit.

Good to see you Diva! And yes, the GD test is gross, but it wasn''t as bad as I thought it would be. Hope all is good!

MrsS, great photo of your little man. I''m always so envious that white babies have such defined features (big eyes, nose bridge, etc). Amelia does have the more prominent nose, but her little eyes! And yet I see pics of little B and Jadelyn and find myself missing asian babies a lot too. I have one confused lookin'' kid!

Dani, good to see you! Have you been MIA because no one is in labor? Hehehe.

Gemma, TGuy is from Adelaide. I really like it there because it reminds me most of home. West facing beach, dry weather (meaning no real humidity), and wine country! The bugs in Australia are amazing though...it''s nuts. As much as I love Oz, I hate visiting in the summer. Here in SoCal, we have perfect weather, no mozzies or flies when you walk around (the smog kills em all), no sandflies, etc. Adelaide went through 3 weeks of 35C+ weather this summer...I can''t imagine. We had two days of it before we left (we were there for Christmas) and it was brutal...especially because only the family room in TGuy''s parent''s house has AC. I am afraid for Amelia when we visit this holiday season. After this visit, we won''t go back for a couple of years. The idea is to visit every other Christmas.

Monnie, hope you get to visit your niece soon! I didn''t know you hadn''t seen her yet.
8.gif

Pavelover, welcome and a big congrats to you!!

Tacori, OK, I will have to see what an exersaucer is. I haven''t researched that far down the baby life road yet! And I agree about the babycenter coupon policy.

Jackie, you do get your share of asinine comments, don''t you? Poor thing.
8.gif

Jas, girl, great to see you! I was worried that Cohen got the best of ya or something.
2.gif
I totally hear you on getting out of the house...I have to see sunshine and feel human, especially because our apartment doesn''t get direct sunlight. The past week my mom came by...I had invited her to come with me and Amelia to run an errand to BRU, but she suggested that I go and she watch Amelia because it was windy out. Oh my god...how good did it feel to be out without the kid? Just wonderful! If that makes me a bad mom, I don''t care!
3.gif

Re: bottles...I had heard of adiri, but didn''t look into it much. I''ll keep them in mind if my current system doesn''t work well. I got the Born Free bottles and just ordered the second nature nipples to use with them (http://www.regallager.com/products/sn/feeding.aspx) . It''s supposed to work like the breast and requires suckling, not just sucking. They are hard to find so I had to order them from the vendor. Hopefully they will work as even though Amelia will take anything, I do notice she spits up more and gags a bit even with a slow flow nipple. This is supposed to continue with jaw development too. Amelia has been doing well in that arena because of the SNS.

Leftover placenta eh? Well, I don''t think that is it, but I will mention it to my OB when I visit him next. Most of the women in my family could not breastfeed and the lactation consultant think there''s something anatomically wrong with us. Great...

Sorry to hear you felt the blues. While I certainly fell in love with Amelia at the hospital, I do understand why women would get the blues. I was feeling kind of bleh myself for the past few days...like, this is it? This is a lot of work for nothing! But as Tacori said, when the smiles come in, hopefully it will all be worth it. I feel guilty that I love it if she naps a lot so I can just have me time and not feel like I need to spend time bonding with her. But then, when she is awake and I do bond with her, I find myself enjoying it more and more. Honestly, the first couple of months are just sheer WORK. And what I find amusing is that the fathers will always say how hard it''s been...when they haven''t done near as much of the work!
41.gif

Sorry if I missed anyone! Hugs to all...

Jackie, you are a stronger woman than me. The comments DID bother me....A LOT. But then again I did gain a lot. Still NO ONE has the right to make you feel bad about yourself. Keep your chin up.

Bobo, must have missed about your sick one! Hope little B is feeling better. I agree you need a doctor you trust and bond with. Be careful going to an ER. Can be dangerous for newborns.

Lili, it is great when you can give them a bottle! T had her first during her first week. As of now she likes them better than me
39.gif
but that is a recent thing. She gets too distracted with me (looking/smiling at me, playing with my hair, reaching for my face, falling asleep, etc...) With a bottle she gets down to business. I am *thinking* about weening her. I wanted to make it to 6 months (that was my goal) and she will be on the 3rd. I haven''t decided for sure yet.

TGal, I like born frees. So expensive though. Not that she is not worth it
3.gif
Try Nuby''s too (with a different nipple). And all medela products are BPA free. I e-mailed babycenter not like they will do anything but if I am spending $200 on a highchair I want the coupon AND free shipping.
11.gif
I spent a little too much on her exersaucer but glad did. She LOVES it. Noises, lights, lots of toys. It''s great putting her in if I am making dinner or cleaning up.

I stopped weighing myself. Too depressing. I am not like you ladies dropping weight so fast!
15.gif
though I do think my hair loss rate has decreased
36.gif
Thought I was going bald there.

good''afternoon all

Tgal--i think you would be sick by now if there was actually some placenta left in the uterus, so i wouldn''t worry. I wrote that bit nearly 2 weeks ago, but couldn''t post for some reason so i just kept cutting and pasting msgs until yesterday when i could log on finally!

Re: bonding, i luv the happy awake time and try to take full advantage of it now, but do enjoy the naps! I think the hardest part of motherhood by far is lack of sleep--even thou Co will take a bottle he needs me to fall asleep at night and nursing is just easier than getting Charlie up and warming up breast milk etc. so Charlie never does a night feed. Cohen can sleep 3 hours stretches and go back to sleep without much trouble but i still find myself totally exhausted, esp since he nurses almost every hour during the day, napping for me is out. He is hungry ALL the time.
Tacori, now i know what you were experiencing when you spoke of needing sleep so badly.

Co has a terrible bout of baby acne :-( It''s all over his face and head. It is aparetnly caused by my hormones crossing the placenta and is more common in boys. It''ll clear up over several weeks or months but i have to say it''s pretty yuck looking--good thing the little guy is oblivious to it!

here''s a new pic...

ba1.jpg

Jas12, he is so cute! Don''t worry about the baby acne. T had that too. My dad said it was from my BM. I guess it is something about digesting it. It cleared up after two weeks. Sorry about your lack of sleep! I don''t wish that on anyone. It will get better, I promise.

Jas12~Good to see you around. Cohen is adorable! Tacori is right...smiles are the best!!
1.gif

Bobo~Glad little B is feeling better. Have you asked for referrals for a new ped from friends and neighbors? That's how we found ours....

mrss~Jake is too cute! He looks so big and alert in that pic!

Hi Gemma! Thanks for the compliment on Tayva's pics! She seems to be doing much better but still not back to "normal feedings" we are probably going to try Neocate formula if our insurance will help out.

Welcome Pavelover!!

Jas~sorry about the in-law comment! It's as if we aren't going through enough being preggo and then to add on, you have insensitive people making stupid comments. Arghh

Tacori~Sorry about the baby center situation. I was actually just looking there the other day for a high chair....Glad to hear your hair loss rate is decreasing. I had the baby hair thing and they're finally starting to grow out....weird these post preggo symptoms!!

Tgal~So are you still doing the SNS or are you pretty much switched over to bottles? Glad you found a bottle you are happy with.

RE:weight I don't think that weight matters after you have a baby. I'm only 5 lbs from post baby which is all fine and dandy but the yucky part is my mushy, mushy stomach. YUCK! I would be okay being 5 lbs heavier if my stomach would just start to resemble my pre-baby belly. Doesn't help I still have the linea nigra!

Better go get some stuff cleaned up around the house while Tayva naps! My mom is coming over later to bake. She has an AWESOME healthy recipe for oatmeal raisin cookies. Yum!!!

Burk, Which highchair are you going to get?

Thanks TGal & Tacori, little B is getting better.

Jas, Cohen is so cute~ don''t worry about the baby acne, it will go away and the sleeping thing will get better.

Burk, actually we''re the first one in our group of friends to have a kid so we''re pretty alone in that dept. maybe I''ll ask the co-workers
