Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

jas12, good to see an update from you! Co is adorable! The picture of him sleeping is so precious. I hope the baby acne goes away soon!

TGal, yay on the doubled breast milk production and Ameila's weight gain! That's wonderful news!

I agree that you are all an inspiration to a mom-to-be who really wants to BF!

msflutter, beautiful picture! Your son is adorable!

curly, that is so exciting that your DH felt the baby move at 17-18 weeks! My DH is jealous! When did you feel the baby yourself? I am waiting and hoping it happens soon!

NF, I was bloated a lot in the beginning too.

Tacori, congrats on 10K posts and 6 months of BFing!!!
36.gif
PS and definitely this thread wouldn't be the same without you! I love the new picture of Tessa! So cute!

Kay, good luck on the amnio! Think good thoughts! At least you get to find out the sex of the baby too. You're finding out the sex right?

Hi ephemery! How are you doing? Haven't seen you in awhile.

My big u/s is set for the end of May! Yay! I can't wait!
36.gif

Tacori & Burk, I called the new pedi''s office. the office staff can''t tell me how much it will cost. she just said it''s up to the physician so I guess that mean it depend on what will the physician do with little B and the equipment he use to diagnose him? Anyway I''m going to observe little B couple more days to see if his puking continue. If it gets really bad then I will take him in.

Snlee, we are finding out the sex. As soon as we get the test results back, I am starting shopping! I used to cross stitch a lot when I was younger, so I really want to make a baby announcement for the nursery wall. I''m itching to get started on the project, but we should pick out the nursery colors/theme before I pick a design for the announcement. My "nesting" mode is getting crazy: I haven''t sewed for years, but I want to stitch an announcement and sew a crib skirt and curtains. I''m also cooking more. All of a sudden, I would much rather do home projects than work projects.

Are you finding out the sex at your u/s?

Eating dinner and will post more in a bit, but wanted to say...

Bobo, PLEASE take your little B in asap. I wouldn''t wait when it comes to the little ones. Hopefully the doc''s bill won''t cause you too much hardship?
15.gif

Kay, we must have been posting at the same time. It is awesome. Register for it. That way you''ll at least get it 10% off if you do buy it yourself (every little bit helps).

snlee, you are so sweet. I would not be the same without PS or this thread
2.gif
This truly is my therapy, my diary, my hobby! I am happy to be here.

Good luck on both your big u/s! That was a highlight of my pregnancy.

Bobo,
I agree, your little B needs to be seen. It''s hard seeing them throw up like that. Sending healing vibes his way.

Snlee, can''t wait till you have the big US, so fun!!

Kay, I had an amnio with my second, it wasn''t bad at all. Can''t wait to hear what you are having!!!

TGal, So glad you milk is coming in, that''s great.

Kay, we're finding out the sex! I want to start shopping too! Although, if they say it's a girl, we'll be a little skeptical. DH and I know 3 couples who were told they were having girls (99.9% sure according to the doctor) and they ended up having a boy! Amnio is the most accurate way to determine the baby's gender so at least you'll be for sure. I like to cross stitch too. I've started to make this ABC cross stitch for our baby.

Thanks Burk and Tacori.
It''s good to know that this around the clock feeding won''t last long.
My nipples really need the break

Jas, I think the key is ''happy'' awake time! hehehe. I like it when she''s happy and awake. When she''s not happy...boy...you can have her!

Ha, same here.

Hi Guys- Thanks curlygirl, kay and tacori(again, lol) for the warm welcomes!

Ok NF that is so weird that you wrote about bloating today. I have always had belly fat- so Im used to that, but I am not kidding- today my pants were too tight and my shirt was hitting the pants at an unattractive angle- and I kept thinking that my stomach was huge and people could probably notice! Too funny you were going through the same. And I am nervous - so now you are giving me scary stories on here! Cut it out, ok?
I talked to the dR office today. I got my appt for u/s- so happy- it''s gonna be next week. I hope it''s not too early since I ovulated so late- I feel like my timing is mixed up. I don''t want to be scared if its to early to see the beating blob, you know hwat I mean?

Tacori congrats on 10000 posts. That''s amazing. And I can''t wait to see your pp! May 30th is my bday- that''s the day you said you were gonna get it, right? Lucky girl!!

Seriously curlygirl, burk, tacori and bobo, and everyone else- your kids are soooo cute!

Hi ladies! Question for all of you. Is it normal to be totally bloated only few weeks in? I swear I must have gained 5 lbs overnight in water weight. And only around my midsection, and I am only in my 5th week! Is this normal?

Yup, it is definitely normal to feel bloated this early in the pregnancy.
In fact, I was bigger in the midsection during wk 8 than I was wk 13. Weird I know.
Think maybe my body hasn''t quite adapt to the extra hormones that was surging through my body.

Tacori--
Tessa looks like she''s having a ball on her exersaucer!

Bobo--
I agree with the other ladies...
definitely take little B to the pedi.

I will totally try to stop with the scary stories! They scare me too, it''s like a train wreck though, I just can''t stop reading them once I start. So I need to just stop reading them! But I am so glad that you are feeling like a beached whale too, because I completely do today. I was tempted to go and buy one of those bella bands to make myself more comfortable in my jeans. I think it will be skirts and dresses for me for the next few weeks until this horrible feeling subsides.

You''ll have to let me know what they tell you is your EDD. Based on my LMP and the "wheel", my due date is Dec. 28. BUT, I didn''t O until Day 22 of my cycle, so if I use that (which I think is more reliable) then my EDD is January 3. I''ll be interested to see what your Dr. tells you...

snlee--
that''s such a cute cross-stitch.
i love the precious moments.

when are you finding out the gender?

MrsS, great photo of your little man. I''m always so envious that white babies have such defined features (big eyes, nose bridge, etc). Amelia does have the more prominent nose, but her little eyes! And yet I see pics of little B and Jadelyn and find myself missing asian babies a lot too. I have one confused lookin'' kid!

Ah TGal--
I''m sure I''m not the only one feeling jealous of your little one with the best of both worlds.
I''ve always loved mixed babies --- they are so unique.
Amelia does so have big eyes.

Tacori, thank you for the support on BF - I expect you will hear from me many, many times over the next few months! I''m going to give it my best shot and I am determined to do this, so I''ll need all the advice I can get.

Congrats too on your 10k posts!

Bobo, I''m sorry your little one is still poorly. It must be stressful.

Neatfreak, yup - bloating is totally normal! The bella bands are great. I''ve worn mine most days for around 8 months now! I look like a watermelon though, which may not be the look you''re hoping for LOL. I''ve been lucky in that the bloating I got hasn''t been on hands, feet or face, so the right sort of clothes pretty much hides it. Fingers are a bit puffy now, but it''s all survivable! Good luck and try not to worry!

Jen

Congrats Tacori on 10000 posts!!!

Bobo~keep us posted on how Little B is feeling. Tayva is just starting to be herself again and she''s been on meds for reflux for over a week and half. If it''s reflux you want to get him treated. Also another thought, ( Ella I hope you read this too!)and I know this isn''t for everyone, but we took Tayva to a chiropractor because I had read they can help with reflux and tummy problems. I''m sure it''s a combination of new formula, reflux meds and chiropractic but she is seriously a new woman!
2.gif
Just a thought. The chiropractic is non-invasive...ours just uses this little laser thing and he does a couple things on her spine. She just plays while he does it.

Hi all,

congrats to new preggo ladies--make sure to add your names to the preggo in waiting list when you know your EDD! It''s fun seeing the list grow :)

So I had my 18wk doc appointment yesterday, they are starting to get uneventful because it seems there''s not much real new information she can tell me without stronger equipment. It''s just check of hb, blood pressure, urine sample. Now I''m getting selfish and wanting to know more detail! Mostly I am so anxious for the 20wks u/s, which is a whole 2wks away. We''d love to know the sex and my doctor did make an attempt to look.

I got a "I think it''s probably a girl". I was excited, but since I am always a skeptic, I realized she said "probably" and her machine isn''t so great (compared to the hospital). Then readiing snlee''s post about her friends being told 99.9% girl and having it be wrong made me even more skeptical. Ahhhh well. I guess will have to wait 2 more weeks!!

My doctor also gave me a list of classes I can sign up for...wow, not sure what''s what yet! I''ll have to do more research..

Glad to hear everyone''s doing so well!!! I read this thread constantly but it''s still hard to keep track..lotta busy mommies and mommies to be here..woo hoo!
1.gif

Fisher~Garage sales are the way to go. A friend of mine got some really nice stuff that even had tags on it for like 75% off what it would cost in the store!!!

So excited for those of you with the "big US" coming up!! When our tech told us it was a girl I think DH almost passed out! I was sure it was a boy I was in a state of shock to. I probably asked if she was sure 15 times until she finally just showed me the babie''s "parts."

Hi NF Well I have been using the pregnancy calculators- and they tell me Dec 28 based on my last lmp. But I actually ovulated late too(I had a surge on day 21 and 22). I thought that this would change the due date. In fact, I am confused about how far along my pregnancy is- even though its 5 weeks since I had my lmp, the conception only happened 2 weeks ago, right? I think you are in the same boat- I just found a different calculator on pregnancy.org that let you put in the date of conception- I just picked the first day of my lh surge even though technically I guess that may not be right- and I got a date of January 11th!
Since I am going to have an u/s next week I am wondering if it is too early? I don''t want to be disappointed if the u/s doesn''t show what its supposed to show-I am going to talk to the drs office today anyway so I will ask.

And btw now I am freaking myself out- I took an hpt today and expected it to be darker than the day before- it wasn''t and now I am worried that something is wrong. The MA in my Dr.s office was going to call me today to let me know if the Dr. was going to to another HCg- the one that tells you the number, not just yes/no- I can''t remember- is that quantatative? Anyhoo maybe I should stop taking the hpts? I dunno...

Are you having any nausea/m/s? I have been having nausea everyday(in the middle of the night and into the morning). I never thought I would be so happy to have it.

Based on my very limited experience once the BFP line gets dark (as in not a faint line, a strong line) it doesn''t get any darker. As for the EDD of Jan 11, how the heck did you get that number if we O''d on the same day? I keep getting Jan. 3 with my O date and Dec. 28 with my LMP. Who knows...

Lili, I promise she''ll be able to go longer in between feedings. I needed a break too so that is when we started giving her a bottle of formula a few times a week. It is just as much about YOUR survival as her''s. T LOVES her exersaucer. She is in it right now "watching" TV.

Pave, happy early b-day. I hope I have it by then! I should have asked if that is when HE gets it, it ships, or when I get it. Oh well. It will be here soon. The earlier the u/s the more accurate the EDD is. I felt hung over for the first month. It was awful. Lots of crackers and soda!

NF, it is overwhelming how much there is to worry about. I will say I worry less now that she is here than when I was preggo.

MrsM, I am stubborn too. I realized I only nurse her 3-4 times a day now. First around 7am, last around 7pm (bedtime) and at least once, sometimes twice in between. She averages about 3 bottles a day too. DH feeds her the 2am bottle with rice (oh...bliss!) So I guess as of now she is half and half. My milk is skim milk
2.gif
and it really hasn''t been the same since I have gotten back from Mexico. Luckily she will start baby food soon so I am not going to try to rebuild my milk supply. I really am liking having that 12 hours off!

Burk, thanks!

Janine, we did a lot of classes. BF class (a must IMHO if you are going to BF), prepared childbirth, infant cpr, and taking care of baby. Congrats on *maybe* being on team pink! I love having a daughter.

Janinegirly- thanks for the congrats! What kind of classes do you get to choose from? I would love to hear about them.
My friend went through the 99% its a girl- and she had a boy too! It sounds like it happens alot, at least from the postings here.
I hope time flies for you until your 20 wk u/s- did you find out the sex with your first? I am not sure if I want to know yet.
If my Dr. has the transvag u/s- do you know if that is what she will use each time? Is that the best kind? I mean can you see the most with that one?
Hope you are feeling well.

Burk- I am all about getting a good deal on 2nd hand stuff- Is there anything I shouldn''t get 2nd hand? Do you think I will change my mind as the pregnancy progresses? Just curious what other ppls experiences are- I am not into the idea of spending a ton on a crib and baby furniture(at least right now) I don''t think it matters to much cause I don''t feel like the baby would ever know the difference- But I know so many ppl really love decorating the nurseries.

Snlee- that cross stitch is so cute- I''m jeaulous and I wish I was crafty- I''m not sure if I did one it would look good enough to go on the wall, lol. And YAY! for the big u/s coming up. I hope time goes fast for you.

Hope everyone else is well!!

pave buy a new car seat and a new mattress.

Yeah that''s what I heard about the car seat, and the mattress really makes sense- but did you prefer to buy new for Tessa?
Tessa looks sooooo happy in her exersaucer- that one is really tricked out, my gosh.

Do you know anyone that used a small crib(portacrib) as their main crib? My friend was looking at one at Target and the reviews say that they are good for small spaces. I know there are a few ladies here that have limited space like me.

I agree....make sure you get a new mattress and car seat. I don''t know about the porta crib, as we live in a large, old house and Tayva''s nursery is almost as big as our master bedroom! I''m sure others who live in small spaces will chime in, though. We didn''t do the garage sale thing but we did borrow some stuff from my BIL and SIL who have a 2 year-old and are having a hard time getting preggo again so they have no use for it. We borrowed their swing and their bumbo...

And yesterday I ended up with a borrowed jumperoo!!!
30.gif
30.gif
My friend babysits Tayva during the day and I mentioned going to buy and exersaucer and she practically made me take the jumperoo to try (they''re moving so she wanted to get it out of their house:) Tayva LOVES IT!!!! It is similar to the exersaucer in that there are toys and she can turn around to play with all of them. I will have to post a pic.

Tacori, Tessa looks sooooooo adorable and happy in her exersaucer!!!!!! And so blonde! If they didn't take up so much room, I might actually consider getting one for #2. I can always borrow one from a friend too, I guess. She just looks so precious! And yay for pp on May 30! Can't wait to see it.

snlee, I first felt the baby move at around 17 weeks although I think I was feeling stuff a little earlier but I was writing it off as gas! At 17 weeks, I knew for sure it was her. And then at exactly 18 weeks, DH was able to feel her when I was laying down and she was exercising or something!!! It was pretty cool, I was actually surprised that he could feel her already. But just so you know, you probably won't feel anything that early the first time around. With Lily, I didn't feel her till almost 22 weeks. They say that with your future pregnancies, you feel it earlier because you really know what you're feeling! I'm sure your doctor will explain it all to you but I just don't want you to freak if you don't feel anything as early as I did. It's totally normal!

Kay, I sooo wish I was crafty. I have no skills in that area! You'll have a great time making baby stuff. My grandma was really big on knitting and crocheting and she had enough foresight to make lots of baby blankets, sweaters and booties while she was still alive, just in case my sister or I had children. Interestingly enough, they are all pink and white which is pretty cool! I am thrilled to have memories of her to pass on to my girls since they didn't get to meet their great grandmother. So my point is that it's great that you will be able to make special things that can be passed down for many generations! Btw, when is your amnio? Let me know if you have any more questions. I'm telling you, it's a piece of cake and you will be so relieved you did it. Plus, you find out the sex and there are no mistakes!

neatfreak and pavelover, the bloat is totally normal and it sucks! But it does get better. I highly recommend the Bella Band like Mrs Mitchell said. And the doctors always go by your LMP to get your EDD. So it will be interesting to see how off they are if you're both positive about your O dates.

Burk, we're doing a bunch of little parties for Lily's bday. This Sunday, my parents and sister are coming over and we'll go out to lunch and have a little cake celebration. Then on Monday, her actual bday, we will have a party at daycare. I'll get a bunch of cupcakes and she'll be with all her "friends" there. And then the following weekend, we're going to my in-laws country house (where Lily was actually conceived!!!) and we'll have a party there with DH's family. So we're not going all out with a huge celebration. She's only one--she'll have no idea what's going on anyway. But that doesn't mean I didn't get her the most awesome dress!!!! I'll definitely post pictures!

janine, you're totally having a girl! You're my preggo twin so I'm guessing girl for sure! Can't wait till you find out--hope these 2 weeks go by quickly for you! Regarding classes, I HATED the "preparation for parenthood" aka LAMAZE classes! Total waste of time and money and completely USELESS!!! But as a first timer, I kind of think you have to do it! It will be good for you to be around other pregnant couples and I just feel like it's part of the process. We also took the baby care class which was awesome and infant CPR. I signed up for the breastfeeding class since it was part of my package but I never went since I knew I wasn't going to BF. And definitely do a hospital tour.

pavelover, regarding ultrasounds, if I remember correctlythey really only use the transvaginal in the beginning when the baby is really small. They can see better that way. I think all your other ones will be regular abdominal ones. You won't be able to tell anything about the sex this early. I think those parts don't even become apparent until at least 13-14 weeks. And stop testing!! You'll get a quantitative beta hcg test at the doctor's office (blood test) and that will tell you for sure. But I think you're fine! Those lines can only get so dark. Don't drive yourself crazy!

Bobo, give us a little B update when you can. Hope he's doing ok.

lili, how's your little princess doing? Any new photos???

pave~ actually this is my first! yup, the more i read, the more i realize the team guess is not reliable. sigh, next 2 wks will crawl!! Oh they offer so many classes, everything from lamaze, to breastfeeding, to intro to the birthing center, to infant care and sibling prepration. They even have something called Japanese Baby Care, what on earth is that?
emsmile.gif

I also wanted to reassure you and neatfreak to not worry so much. I did a whole lotta worrying after my BFP and it was all so silly now that I look back. I tested about 15 times for no good reason and obsessed over light dark lines, medium dark lines, fuzzy lines. Then I temped and freaked that it dipped. Then I moved onto lack of symptoms (I never got m/s or sore bb''s). Then I spotted at wk 6-8 (which is apparently common and usually normal). By the time I made it to my first u/s, I was a nervous wreck and had misdiagnosed myself (via google)! So take it from me, it''ll all be fine and the only real indicator that is of any use is the HCG quantitative (2 tests though, the 1st number won''t tell you much, it''s the doubling that matters) which sounds like you''re already signed up for. Oh and they do do a transvaginal u/s the first couple of visits (since it''s too small to see on an external u/s). By the 10wk one it was external for me.
