Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Tessa had a date with twins today
2.gif
1.gif
I went over to my neighbors and we put all three of them on her play mat. It is so funny b/c they are basically the same size as her but since they are 2 months younger their faces still look very babyish. They were reaching out to each other and looking at each other. One of the twins is really social and kept smiling at her. So cute!
30.gif

Snlee, your ABC cross stitch is so cute. I have been eyeing a few different patterns, one is Winnie the Pooh, another has jungle babies. It is so hard to choose just one! If I go truly crazy, I might buy a cross stitch quilt I saw online. It has squares of regular fabric alternating with squares of aida cloth to stitch designs on. I think it had 24-26 squares that could be cross stitched. Of course, I would never let the child actually touch the quilt after putting that much work into it (at least until a certain age).

Kaleigh, glad to hear your amnio wasn’t too bad. I can’t wait to find out what we are having either! I think it is a girl, but I could be wrong.

Tacori, congrats on 10,000 posts. I didn’t even think of registering for stuff I plan to buy to get a discount – thanks for the tip. Tessa is dating twins huh? Way to go, baby!

2.gif

Burk, glad to hear Tayva is doing better on her new regimen. You must post pics of her in the jumperoo.

Janine, congrats on the probably girl. I am just waiting to get busted at work too. I am at 16 weeks and am trying to make it 2 more weeks so we can get our amnio results. I am also very private (except on PS) and don’t want everyone at work knowing my business before it is necessary. (A few people at my office know, but they have been sworn to secrecy.) I wear a suit jacket every day, so that helps to hide my little pooch. I also usually walk around with a file, notepad or my arm held in front of my stomach.

Curly, that is so sweet that your grandmother made baby things “just in case” -- what wonderful keepsakes. I wish I knew how to knit. I am looking forward to sewing again – hopefully I am not too rusty. Lily is too cute with that tongue sticking out at mommy and the camera. My amnio is Friday morning. I look forward to the results, but not the procedure. Normally, I would pop a Valium before going in for an unpleasant procedure (like a colposcopy

14.gif
), but I guess that is not an option this time. I’m kind of hoping the baby is resting near the front of my abdomen so they go through the cervix, rather than sticking the needle through my belly.

Neatfreak, nice score on the stroller.

LIA, yay for less puking! I felt so much better after week 12. Please post pics of the rocking horse – I love them.

My belly is definitely rounder. I haven’t actually gained weight yet, so I don’t know if it is bloating, AF or what. I wouldn’t be surprised if people are speculating. It will be a relief to finally say I am PG so they don’t just think I am chunking up. I am surprised by the comments some of you are getting. I would never ask a women if she is PG unless (a) it’s a friend and (b) she is so huge it could not be anything else (and I still would not comment on the size of the bump!).

DH and I had decided to buy this really nice nursery furniture from Munire. We were justifying the cost based on the bed being convertible so the set could be used for many years. Then, this weekend, we saw the damage our friend’s daughter had done to her crib while she was teething, so now we are re-thinking the investment. Now, I am leaning towards finding an inexpensive, possibly used, crib, dresser and/or changing table, and glider. We can always upgrade later when the child is older. DH thinks we should look for raw wood, so the kid will not ingest paint or stain when it chews the furniture, but I am not crazy about that idea.

My dream crib, sigh:

Attachments

kay, what a gorgeous crib!! i haven''t heard of any babies doing that much damage to the furniture, but it would definitely suck to be worrying all the time!! i wonder if it''s like having a puppy (semi-kidding here)... my FIRST puppy was a nightmare chewer and ruined a couch, chair, etc. with my newest puppy (one year old next week!), i think i learned my lesson and she has a variety of bones around ALL the time...the only thing she''s ruined so far is our mattress (but unfortunately that''s a biggie!!).

anyway, i give you lots of credit for not spilling the beans at work!!

tacori: would love to see pics of the "date." sounds way too cute!! are the twins both boys?? way to go tessa!!

qtiekiki: i can''t believe i forgot to comment earlier on your belly pic. you are such a GORGEOUS pregnant woman!! i can only hope too look as good as you do. the people making those rude comments to you are completely NUTS!!!

So much to respond to...i''m sure I''ll miss some of you. I''m not very good at getting everybody. But thanks so much on the compliments to my little guy!!!

Used Baby Stuff- Ian didnt get anything used. Mainly because we dont really know anyone with kids and my DH wanted to buy it all. My two brothers each have a boy, so if we were back home in WI I certainly would have.

Q- people are rude and stupid. You are so tiny, i''m glad I didnt run into anyone you know when i was preggers. I really dont know why people dont think before they speak. People would always tell me I was carrying high. Even a week after my due date people kept telling me he wasnt coming soon because he hadnt dropped...seriously people, if you dont have something nice to say!

NeatFreak- I totally was at the Ellen show last year and love my Gecko, it like all strollers isnt perfect, but its really a great stroller. What color did you get? You are starting early, but remember you don''t have to buy it all...even though its tons of fun!

Mentioning Ellen- I got tickets to go again this year (mothers day show). A friend of mine is preggers and didnt have someone pregnant to take so she is taking me!! I''m so excited...and feel so lucky to have gone twice!

Burk- You will love the jumperoo! Is it the rainforest one? Ian loves his. LOVES IT!

Janine- Congrats on taking your time telling people you are PG. I certainly couldnt keep my mouth shut. I would wait the 2 weeks if you want, just know that it is a possibility that its being talked about. But who cares, tell when you are good and ready. I bet you are another of these tiny girls that aren''t showing. I had gained all but 8 of my 35lbs by 20 weeks!

Snlee- what a great cross stitch! I''m pretty crafty, but dont have the talent for cross stitch. DH''s Aunt made one for Ian and we adore it...its hanging above his crib!

Like I said that wasn''t very comprehensive, but things are crazy here. I had another job interview today and we are leaving for Mexico on Thursday! Congrats to all the new BFP''s and to the new mommies!

janine, congrats on probably girl! I missed that! At least you only have 2 weeks until your big u/s and they''ll be able to confirm.

LIA, I wish I knew how to knit well enough to knit cute baby stuff. I''ll leave that up to my Aunt, who LOVES to knit. Good luck on your NT scan. It''s awesome to see your baby and how much it has changed. I''m glad you''re feeling better too! We''re starting to look around at cribs as well. I ever even thought about the baby damaging it!

q, baby girl clothes are so cute! I wouldn''t be able to resist too!

Tacori, sounds like Tessa had a fun play date! The twins and her playing must have been adorable!

Kay, I don''t think I''d ever have the patience to do a cross stitch quilt! I can only imagine how many hours would go into it. I wouldn''t let my baby touch it either! LOL. A cross stitch hung on the wall sounds much better to me.

msflutter, good luck on the interview and have a great trip!

Here''s a picture of me at 15 weeks. I feel bigger and I think I''m starting to show from the side (but maybe it''s all in my head!). I look like I''ve gained much more than 3-4 pounds.

Come on ladies, post some belly pics!

IMG_5617-1.jpg

Msflutter: How the heck did your friend get tickets to that show? And how did you get tickets last year? My mom was asking me the other day how those things work and I have no idea. Spill your secrets! And you are from WI huh? I live in Madison at the moment!

And don't worry, the only thing I am buying now is the stroller! I wish I could have had it for free though, that would have been even better.
2.gif
Mine is black, which isn't too fun, but is probably the color I would have picked anyway!

Sorry to but in with my last years photos but I''m sorta living vicariously here w/ you guys.

I was around 36 wks.

Neatfreak- living in LA you have better access to going to things like this. We have been to tons of TV show filmings. This show I got on last year by filling out the form on the website (twice, actually. till they called me back) It is the same way my friend got tickets this year! You have no idea how lucky I feel! You are in Madison!! Small world, I grew up in Janesville and Tacori has WI roots as well!

oh and Lisa- those are much closer to what my belly looked like last year!

Mrsf~I''m so jealous about the Ellen show! Report back to us on how fabulous it was. And yep, the rainforest jumperoo! She likes it but is still figuring it out....

LIA~Good to see you around. I am skeptical of chiropractors too. I don''t use one. My husband does and so I figured what the heck....there is no adjusting or anything like that with infants. It is laser and a little push on the spine.

qtiekiki~some people are so stupid! You are TINY. Seriously and adorable pregnant lady. Don''t let it get to you.

Re: clothes size....SOOOO hard because you don''t know what season you''ll be in when they wear each size. Each brand is different and kids don''t always wear the size that their age is. Tayva is 3 months old and in 6-9 mo clothes mostly. She is actually in 12 mo in Children''s Place stuff!!

Kay~I love that furniture set. It was one of my favorites when we were picking out furniture. I don''t know anyone whose babies ruined their furniture like your friends...not all babies do that. I wouldn''t not get it based on one kids experience.

Tacori~That play date sounds too cute. Do post a pic!

snlee~ You look great!

Lisa~Thanks for sharing. Yup, you had yourself a bball!!

Ella~ you NEED to post a pic of Gabe in the jumperoo!! Tayva still doesn''t really get it...but she talks to it and smiles at it. I''m working on getting a pic.

neatfreak and pavelover, the bloat is totally normal and it sucks! But it does get better. I highly recommend the Bella Band like Mrs Mitchell said. And the doctors always go by your LMP to get your EDD. So it will be interesting to see how off they are if you''re both positive about your O dates.

Burk, we''re doing a bunch of little parties for Lily''s bday. This Sunday, my parents and sister are coming over and we''ll go out to lunch and have a little cake celebration. Then on Monday, her actual bday, we will have a party at daycare. I''ll get a bunch of cupcakes and she''ll be with all her "friends" there. And then the following weekend, we''re going to my in-laws country house (where Lily was actually conceived!!!) and we''ll have a party there with DH''s family. So we''re not going all out with a huge celebration. She''s only one--she''ll have no idea what''s going on anyway. But that doesn''t mean I didn''t get her the most awesome dress!!!! I''ll definitely post pictures!

janine, you''re totally having a girl! You''re my preggo twin so I''m guessing girl for sure! Can''t wait till you find out--hope these 2 weeks go by quickly for you! Regarding classes, I HATED the "preparation for parenthood" aka LAMAZE classes! Total waste of time and money and completely USELESS!!! But as a first timer, I kind of think you have to do it! It will be good for you to be around other pregnant couples and I just feel like it''s part of the process. We also took the baby care class which was awesome and infant CPR. I signed up for the breastfeeding class since it was part of my package but I never went since I knew I wasn''t going to BF. And definitely do a hospital tour.

pavelover, regarding ultrasounds, if I remember correctlythey really only use the transvaginal in the beginning when the baby is really small. They can see better that way. I think all your other ones will be regular abdominal ones. You won''t be able to tell anything about the sex this early. I think those parts don''t even become apparent until at least 13-14 weeks. And stop testing!! You''ll get a quantitative beta hcg test at the doctor''s office (blood test) and that will tell you for sure. But I think you''re fine! Those lines can only get so dark. Don''t drive yourself crazy!

psyUghh I cant get the highlight to shut off, lol. curlygirl thanks for the info on the u/s and the bloating. I am not doing so well at not driving myself crazy- my m/s(well reallly just nausea) lightened up today and it is making me worry- i took another hpt and it got dark right away so that was reassuring even though it probably doesnt mean anything. I googled a little and saw other ppl said that their m/s came and went- do you guys remember what it was like for you? My Dr. ordered the beta hcg so I went yesterday and then I will go tomorrow. Not sure if they will call me with results or wait until the 2nd test to check for doubling. I am trying to stay busy today so I am not driving myself psycho-

pave~ actually this is my first! yup, the more i read, the more i realize the team guess is not reliable. sigh, next 2 wks will crawl!! Oh they offer so many classes, everything from lamaze, to breastfeeding, to intro to the birthing center, to infant care and sibling prepration. They even have something called Japanese Baby Care, what on earth is that?
emsmile.gif

I also wanted to reassure you and neatfreak to not worry so much. I did a whole lotta worrying after my BFP and it was all so silly now that I look back. I tested about 15 times for no good reason and obsessed over light dark lines, medium dark lines, fuzzy lines. Then I temped and freaked that it dipped. Then I moved onto lack of symptoms (I never got m/s or sore bb''s). Then I spotted at wk 6-8 (which is apparently common and usually normal). By the time I made it to my first u/s, I was a nervous wreck and had misdiagnosed myself (via google)! So take it from me, it''ll all be fine and the only real indicator that is of any use is the HCG quantitative (2 tests though, the 1st number won''t tell you much, it''s the doubling that matters) which sounds like you''re already signed up for. Oh and they do do a transvaginal u/s the first couple of visits (since it''s too small to see on an external u/s). By the 10wk one it was external for me.
Hi Janinegirly- for some reason I was getting you confuse with curlygirl- sorry about htat. thanks for all of your reassurance. It is very helpful. I think I am just extra nervous cause when I had a m/c in nov, the embryo- or cells I dunno stopped growing around 5 wks or the sac did and the cells never grew. I am a little confused. Eitherway I think I will feel better after next week the first u/s. I am trying to prepare myself not to see much and not to worry- it''s not so easy, lol. But thank you again. I do appreciate it.

pave buy a new car seat and a new mattress.

Agreed. I have aready researched this WAY WAY too much. And DH and I might have even been to Babies R Us yesterday.
12.gif

And I might have even bought a stroller already...
12.gif

But my logic is that there will be MANY things to buy, even after baby showers, etc. so it makes sense to spread out the expenses a bit. PLUS I have a reason for buying it early, as I got a fabulous Bugaboo Gecko (which I decided I loved way more than the other strollers but couldn''t justify the obscene price especially considering that it is technically discontinued) for $300 brand new on ebay. With most of the accessories.
36.gif
It''s new because it was one of the ones that ellen degeneris gave out last year on her show and the family just doesn''t use it because they don''t go out walking around a lot, which we do. The stroller was super important to me because I walk everywhere if possible and we live in a downtown area that I love walking around in.

Pave, part of the reason we loved the bugaboo was that it comes with a bassinet that baby can sleep in for awhile or while traveling. So it just seemed so convenient to be able to wheel it around our apartment if needed, so that is what we are planning on for the first few months, especially since it will be so much easier to BF as far as I can figure out...

We''ll be buying a new carseat and mattress too. But as far as furniture and clothes go, we are all about the hand me downs and garage sales. So much nice, almost new stuff, super cheap. Love craigslist too!
Hey NF not sure if I already responded to this- trying to catch up
19.gif
That is so fun that you and your hubby are out looking around- and I love the idea of the bassinet in the Gecko. But I have two floors- although it would be great for the first floor now that I think about it!
I saw my friends portacrib last night- it''s great for her because she already has a full size crib that she can move her 2nd into after she moves her 1st out. Now thinking about it for me sounds like a waste of money b/c it is only for kids up to 40 lbs and even if your toddler wasnt 40 pounds it''s not as deep and seems like they could find their way out- think I will keep looking. I will windowshop only for now I think. I am definitely going to pick up alot of hand me downs from my friend so I look forward to that, when the time is right.

HI!!!
i can''t believe how long it''s been since i''ve posted...i''m sorry i''ve been so remiss. i have definitely been checking in periodically to see how all the amazing mommies and pre-mommies :) are doing, but have been TRYING to find the energy to post!! i''ve decided that it''s kind of like writing thank you notes for gifts. you WANT to do it (and i actually enjoy doing it), but it''s so hard to start. and then the longer you put it off, the harder it gets, etc. not that posting is a chore (oh man, my metaphor is definitely stretching), but i feel like i''ve missed so much that it''s hard to catch up!!!

ok, enough babbling.

first, CONGRATULATIONS to pave lover and neat freak!! yay to more new preggos. i SO hear you on the bloating. i honestly think it was one of my first clues that i was pregnant (at like 3 weeks...not kidding). i NEVER get bloated with my periods and i kept thinking that i was looking chubby!! :) and also, i am a HUGE fan of the bella bands. i bought the black one really early (and really used it, especially when sitting for an extended period of time). i just got 2 more colors and am thrilled. hopefully they''ll get me through the next few months!

please don''t laugh, but i also ordered support stockings/hose. my mom got bad varicose veins during pregnancy and i don''t want to go through that! i''m on my feet a lot at work, so hopefully they will make a difference!

next, i''m so sorry to hear about sick babies!! bobo, PLEASE find a doctor that you connect with. there''s nothing worse that not feeling like you see eye to eye!!
and i think it''s great that the chiropracter (sp?) is helping teyva...but please make sure you research it fully. i don''t have much experience with them (especially in babies), but i have heard absolute horror stories in adults. dh is an interventional neuroradiologist (big fancy word basically meaning he treats strokes and stuff), and has told me that with spine adjustments, there have been a bunch of cases where somehow one of the posterior arteries going to the brain (vertebral artery) gets nicked and causes a stroke. VERY scary stuff. and i''m sure (hopefully), VERY different than what can happen in babies!!

new mommies (tgal, jas, mrs s, lili): it sounds like you guys are doing GREAT. i LOVE LOVE LOVE the pics. please post more (of course, that definitely does NOT pertain only to new mommies...i LOVE the pics of tessa and mrs. flutter, lit chick, ella''s, curly''s etc). such gorgeous kids on this site, i tell you!! tgal, so HAPPY to hear that your milk is coming in. you have been a true champion at nursing!! also, how fun for all of these 1st birthdays!!

diver: i think it''s GREAT that you love your botox. i have done a bunch and watched a bunch, and it''s amazing how great it can look. but i definitely agree with you that i would go to someone well-trained and qualified. it''s not that it''s very difficult to do, but there is a certain finesse about it and obviously people can screw up!! it actually IS (i think) FDA approved for treating wrinkles, but only in the area between the eyebrows (called the glabella). everything else (forehead, crowsfeet, bunny lines, etc) is off label. not that it makes a huge difference....

jackie: i think your MIL needs a big slap in the face. thank goodness you are able to see the (very) small amount of humor in the whole situation!!)

janine: it''s amazing to me that you''ve been able to keep the whole thing secret so long. hopefully that woman really will keep her mouth shut until YOU are ready to share!!! good luck with the amnio!! i''m sure you''ll do great!

quick update on me: just about 12 weeks (well, either today or friday depending on which date i''m using!), and i''m FINALLY starting to feel better. more energy, and thank goodness, less puking!! it''s been a really busy few weeks so at least it''s going fast. dh and i went to LA a couple weeks ago for passover which was really fun. i love going home and being with my parents!! unfortunately dh''s grandmother passed away last weekend so we had a funeral and lots of family over then. it was great seeing all of his family, but of course a little sad.

dh is definitely more traditional than me. we are both jewish and i guess the custom is that you are not supposed to buy ANYTHING (or at least bring anything baby related into the house) before the actual birth. the thought of that just totally stresses me out (i mean, come ON, half of the fun is getting the nursery together, etc). anyway, we are meeting with our rabbi this weekend to talk about finding a happy medium for us.
a good sign regarding dh''s willingness to prepare though....we were at a charity auction this weekend and bid on a really beautiful rocking horse. much to our suprise, we actually won it. it''s now hanging out in our garage. haha!!

what else? we have our first trimester NT screen on monday and i can''t wait to see the baby!!

i guess that''s all for now. (ENOUGH ALREADY, i know!!).

so sorry if i missed anyone. i LOVE reading this thread!!!
Hi LIA thanks so much for the congrats- and the info on the bella bands. My pants still fit- it''s just that I look bigger to me!
I think I like the jewish tradition. It makes me feel safer- I am thinking of wearing support hose too- I was on my feet for my job for 11 years and now I have a desk job but I don''t want anymore viens!
Good luck on the nt screen! I can''t wait to hear what you see!!!!!

lili, we find out the gender May 30th! Wow, May 30th is going to be a big day! Pave''s birthday and Tacori''s PP (yay, I can''t wait to see!) is that day too! It''s also our 8 year anniversary since we first started going out, which is why we chose that date for the big u/s (since it is very close to 20 weeks)! It''ll be an exciting day!
1.gif

curly, thanks for the heads ups about feeling movement. I''m aware that most 1st timers don''t feel anything till around 20+ weeks and with future pregnancies you feel movement sooner. That''s what every doctor says. I''ve read it happens between 16-20 weeks. I won''t be worried if I don''t feel anything till 20+ weeks but I can hope it happens sooner!
2.gif

NF, wow you are starting early! I didn''t start looking at baby stuff much till after my 1st tri. I wanted to make sure everything was okay before I got too into baby stuff. I was also way too tired the first tri!
Wow Snlee- so exciting your big u/s on the 30th- and I think your belly picture looks sweet!

Lisa,
I just wanted to say how cute your belly pics and how amazing the u/s is. Thanks for sharing!!!

Hi all -- I''m about 5 pages behind with little/no time to respond to everyone...please understand.

Ella, I did want to say that I don''t think I wrote my feelings clearly. If I gain a billion pounds and it''s good for the babies, that''s what will happen. I''m just really amazed at people''s lack of tact/manners with these comments. But I agree...all nutritional/fitness decisions are made in the interest of the babies. It''s all worth it!

Mamas -- love the pictures!

Snlee -- I adore your belly shot.

I have another in-law get together tonight, so I''m going to wear my invicible grin of steel and maybe earplugs.

My Glucose Tolerance Test came back at 135, so at this point I don''t have to go back for the three hour! Whoo! So happy about that! My other blood work was great although they want me to get a little MORE iron, so more red meat, dairy and broccoli for me! Yea!

I can''t believe I''m almost 20 weeks. Babies are moving around after meals, although only two kicks so far. I''m sure that will come more frequent in coming weeks.

I have a bridal shower this weekend and I am distressed at the serious lack of appropriate maternity wear. I''ve got a few options, but my goodness I miss my old wardrobe on occasions like this!

Monday is my big U/S! I can''t wait! No belly shots from me...I''m all belly right now and I want it to round out a little, ya know?

Have a great day!

So cute!
30.gif
Hi Tacori-Aww you are so lucky that you got to go on Tessa''s date! That is too cute. I am a baby-aholic!!!!

lisa, cute belly pix. so jealous...no stretch marks...my stomach is covered with stretch marks...

jas, so excited for you of the u/s.

Mommies~ I need ur opinion. me and Daddy B are confused. we can''t tell if little B is not recover from his diaherra or he is just pooping a lot. Before he got sick with his diaherra episode he usually just poop once or twice the most a day. Now he poop like 5 to 7 times a day.

little B finally have his eye referral approved by the medical group. We have a appt. tomorrow...fingers crossed everything will be ok.

Burk: so glad that little teyva isn't getting actual adjustment! and also, glad she is doing better. LOVE the new avatar!

PaveLover: good luck on the u/s next week! what is the actual date?? i had my first u/s done at around 7 weeks and was SOOO nervous. the second they put the probe on my belly i looked at DH and said, omg, is it an empty sac?? is there anything there? he and the tech just laughed at me and told me to calm done. a few seconds later they saw the heartbeat and i started crying b/c i was so relieved!!!

Snlee: great pic!!! you look fabulous!!

Jas: good luck with the out-laws this weekend!! love the earplug idea. :)

I have had this nagging headache since yesterday. SO frustrating...I tried taking Tylenol, but it hasn't helped much. I'm assuming it's some sinus pressure or something. Do any of you take antihistamines?? I know you CAN take them, but I'm always so scared...
Thanks!! :)

ETA: got an email from REI that they're having their big anniversary sale starting friday (may 2nd-11th). They don't have their sale prices posted yet, but if anyone is interested in the BOB, might be a good time to look at it!!

Kay, thanks! Yes, twin boys. Tessa is no fool
3.gif
Our nursery furniture is also Munire. I actually contacted them b/c I chipped the sidebar when I put on the mobile. They sent me a replacement for free. They said the finish is safe and there are strict testing/laws in place for the safety of kids furniture. They do make jelly bands for teething if your baby does turn out to be a chewer.

LIA, I''ll have to bring my camera next time. It was so cute seeing three babies lined up on the same mat.

MsF, have a GREAT time in Mexico. Don''t worry, Ian will be fine
2.gif

Snlee, you look great! In total there are 3 boys and 3 girls born within 6 months in our neighborhood. T is the oldest. But they will all be in the same grade.

Burk, I''ll have to get pictures next time. Tessa is still in mostly 3-6, some 6 months stuff
23.gif
She''s a little girl.

Pave, my neighbor''s 3.5 year old is only 36 lbs. I don''t think Tessa will be 40 lbs until 1st grade
3.gif
so unless you have a VERY big baby, don''t worry.

Jas, can''t wait to see your u/s pics. I was low iron too when I was preggo.

Bobo, from my understanding baby diaherra looks like water. Is he formula fed? Once we started giving T more formula she pooped A LOT more.

Is anyone watching Birth Day on Discovery Health Channel right now? I've never wanted to reach through the screen and smack someone before.

I really support having whatever birth you want. This mama wanted 100% natural (which is awesome!) and also wanted her 7 yr. old son there.

They've shown a scene where literally she is screaming in pain right in her son's face...then apologizing...and the kid is freaking out. The doctor is kinda frustrated...then...they have the 7 year old take a good long look right into the birth canal.

I know I'm probably puratanical, but this is really bothering me. I don't mind the 7 yr. old being around, but really, he's upset because his mommy is in a lot of pain and then...I'm not sure a gynecological view of mom (she's not even crowning yet) is not going to cause some future issues.

Again, I mean no offense, I just don't understand why they don't move the kid to the other side of the room or something...take him for a walk during transition (where she's in a lot of pain)...yikes.

ETA -- they just showed the seven year old being held in Grandma's arms, turning his head and covering his ears when Mom was screaming. Argh.

Kay, thanks! Yes, twin boys. Tessa is no fool

Snlee, you look great! In total there are 3 boys and 3 girls born within 6 months in our neighborhood. T is the oldest. But they will all be in the same grade.

Burk, I''ll have to get pictures next time. Tessa is still in mostly 3-6, some 6 months stuff

She''s a little girl.

Pave, my neighbor''s 3.5 year old is only 36 lbs. I don''t think Tessa will be 40 lbs until 1st grade

so unless you have a VERY big baby, don''t worry.

Jas, can''t wait to see your u/s pics. I was low iron too when I was preggo.

Bobo, from my understanding baby diaherra looks like water. Is he formula fed? Once we started giving T more formula she pooped A LOT more.
Thanks Tacori, you made me laugh and I really needed that today. So I am going to attach the link- will you look at the mattress compared to side rails- do you think a toddler could get over that? I know some kinds turn into little monkeys no matter what but I want to be safe-

Tacori, little B is formula fed...

Jas, don''t understand why the mom will want to traumatize her little boy..

Tacori~yes, pics! Tayva had a play date with her "future boyfriend" a while back and the pics are hilarious. Tessa is petite. Tayva is big...the reason she''s in at least 6 month stuff is due mostly to her length. I measured her at 26.5 inches yesterday (it was super scientific....I used a tape measure DH had sitting on the desk and measured her on the changing table

)

Jas~Why do that to a child??? I was 9 when my mom had my brother and she asked if I wanted to be there. I said no and that was that.

Bobo~just because little B is pooping more doesn''t mean there''s a problem. If the consistency seems runny then I would be concerned. Hope he''s feeling better.

Bobo, I hope little B is better, I''d be so ticked at your docs & opening up a can of whoop a$$ on someone for the run around you''ve gotten.

LIA,pavelover : congrats & healthy pregnancies to you both!

Kay: get the crib you want! My son chewed his crib a bit, and it has chunks out of it, but we put a teething rail on it and it was fine. If you start out with a teething rail on it, then you won''t have to worry. And some kids chew, some don''t you have no way of knowing if you got yourself a chewer or not. my girlfriend who spent a fortune on her Morigeau crib & furniture has a daughter who is very gentle on things, so she never chewed her crib.

Jas: Maybe I''m just too "mainstream" a mommy, but that is just WRONG for me. I think if the child expressed an interest in being there for the birth (I could see myself as a little girl being interested, but all kids are different) then it might be ok, but a boy? And 7 is kind of young to understand what mom is going through. And while childbirth itself is not to be feared or kept hidden under wraps, we aren''t living in caves anymore, so children aren''t exposed to that regularly & it can be very scary for a child to witness his mother going through what looks like to them, a lot of intense pain. I dunno....I''d want to smack them too.

Snlee: What a cute little bump you have there!!!!

ARRRGH! I AM SO MAD AT BABYCENTER STORE!

My BOB arrived today. And instead of a single Chocolate & Pink revolution, it was a double in black & tan! how stupid can they get? So I called to return it and they told me, sorry, the choc & pink is sold out, we''ll take back the double & send you the right one *when* we get it in. They then tried to tell me it was MY fault for ordering a "black & pink". I was like...UMMM...nuh-uh! "BOB does not even make a black & pink, and I already HAVE a duallie".

Then they told me it would be a week or two before htey could pick up the duallie & do the exchange. I had them hold while I called the store by my house, they have a pink&choc they will hold for me (at full price, but oh well, it just $35 off) to come get today. So then I had to get a Babycenter manager to expedite my return because we are out of town all next week. IDIOTS! But they''ll pick it up on Friday now & then I''m just getting a refund.

I am so irritated...I cannot stand it when things get all screwy.

Burk, the consistency does seems runny. I guess he is still recovering from his diaherra.

Burk & Tacori, Please post Tayva & Tessa''s play date pics if you can. I will love to see it...the girls are soooo cute~

divergrrl, I was really piss off...and the run around isn''t right especially when it comes to a baby''s healthcare. Sorry to hear about your babycenter order, sometime you just have to wonder how do these ppl get a job and keep the job with the way they work.
