Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Hi ladies,

To those with babies: Please keep the pictures coming! They are absolutely adorable. I can't get enough.

As for me, I think unfortunately the morning sickness has arrived. I hope it isn't genetic because my mom had horrendous morning sickness. Mine is ok so far, and seems to go away by my mid-day nap, but it was pretty unpleasant trying to talk to my advisor at 8am this morning with such an unsettled stomach. I have to develop a way of disguising my ginger ale and ginger candies or else I am totally going to get called out by someone because I hardly ever drink soda or eat candy. Maybe my Sigg bottle?

On the other hand I am quite pleased to have some morning sickness because I've heard that women who have bad MS are more likely to have girls (which I really want!) and also apparently it means the pregnancy is "sticking" and thus your miscarriage rate is lower. Who knows, but I have to admit I wasn't super unhappy when it first arrived. After the first hour or so...that is another story.

Snlee - Awww, you have a cute little belly. Seriously I wanted to buy everything (baby girl''s clothes). I wanted to buy a bathing suit, but DH wasn''t really against it. hehe.

Come on other preggos, post your belly pics.

MsF - How did the interview go? Good luck and have fun in Mexico & Ellen.

Lisa - You have such a smooth round belly. Adorable.

Burk - Glad Tayva is doing better. I know what you mind for clothing size. The sizes vary so much with different brand. I hope the ones I got will be the right for the right season and size.

Jackiejas - Yay on passing the 1 hr test. I miss my old wardrobe too. I was still wearing some of the stretchy stuffs until a few weeks ago, but now they are too short to cover the belly. Have fun on Monday, looking at your babies.

LIA - Hope your headache go away. I only took tylenol for headache so far. They always worked for me, so I didn''t try anything else.

diver - can''t believer they try to blame you for ordering the wrong color. I had good experience with them so far, but hearing what happened to you makes me mad.

neatfreak - So sorry for the m/s. I don''t know about m/s being associated with girls because I didn''t have any m/s and I am having a girl. But symptoms are reassuring, so you know everything is well with your little one.

Curly
I literally went squeeee when I saw the latest pix of Lily.
She''s absolutely adorable.
I love her little tongue sticking out and those gorgeous round brown eyes.
Of course, and those cute little pigtails

Wow, how lucky is Lily to have 3 parties!
Remember to take lots of pix and post them later.

My little one is doing ok.
She''s been spitting up more than usual, which I''m concern about.
Last night was scary because she spit up through her nose after she nursed for 2 1/2 hours.
That in itself is scary too since I don''t think her tummy can accommodate that much milk.
I''ll have to be more diligent in burping her often.

Her stump finally fell off yesterday.

Yeah, it''s a bit later than most babies.

From what I understand if you have bad m/s it means that you are more likely to have a girl. But just because you don't have it doesn't mean you won't have a girl.

And same thing with the m/s being correlated with pregnancies sticking. A lack of m/s doesn't mean the pregancy ISN'T sticking, it is just a reassuring sign if you do have it.

Didn't want to scare anyone.

one handed but wanted to say hi.

jas- that is just wrong. my 38 week preggo sister was there when I had Jake and didn't want the head on view, she chose to stay behibd the bed, she was there when i had my first too, didn't know about the placenta and the image will forever scar her.
congrats on the glucose test and good luck in the ultrasound.

neatfreak, i hope you have a girl if that's what you want but had to say I had very little to no morning sickness with my girls but was sick as can be with Jake. I think the whole m/s baby sex is just a wives tale.

diver- total bummer about the stroller...

snlee- cute belly shot..

lili- she nursed for 2 1/2 hours?? do you mean she spit up 2 1/2 hours after you nursed?

I certainly realize that it isn't true for everyone, but there was a very large scale study in Sweden, long term, of over a million births I think, that was then published in Lancet (a good medical journal), that found that women who had bad m/s were more likely to be carrying a girl. I think it was 50% more likely. So it certainly doesn't claim that this will apply to everyone, just that the probability of having a girl goes up for you if you have bad m/s. Seems like the study was done well, so here's to hoping! DH and I would love a boy and a girl, so it doesn't really matter. But I'm hoping the first one is a girl because I think boys who grow up with big sisters are taught really well by their sisters. As I am sure Jake will be with his doting sisters!

I don''t think it''s genetic; my mom had horrible m/s too and I "only" had it for about 6-8 weeks. I didn''t do too much actual puking (thank you, God) but I did my fair share of dry heaving every morning (sorry TMI). It was uncontrollable and then it gradually went away. One day I woke up and managed to get out the door for work without hovering over the toilet.

We are having a surprise baby so I''m not sure if my m/s (or lack thereof) will correlate to the sex of our baby.

I''m really getting excited for this weekend - DH is finally going to start getting the nursery ready. We currently have a twin bed, computer and dresser in the room and we need to get it cleared out and rip up the carpet. We are also going to go look at paint and decide what color to do the nursery in. I was thinking yellow, but I''m not sure anymore.

I measured around the largest part of my belly and it is one inch larger than it was 2 weeks ago! The baby is really growing quickly! Yay! I have a doc appt on Friday so hopefully I passed my GD test.

Bobo, in my experience I have noticed a big different in BF poop and formula poop. She poops more with formula AND it is runnier. Something did change in her digestive where suddenly her poop and gas smelled and the frequency changed. I am sure little B is okay.

Burk, love the new AV. She is so cute! Yeah, T is NOT going to be tall. Oh well. I need to take pictures with them. They are such cuties. She was testing out their excersaucer (they are still a little too young for it). I felt bad she was drooling all over it. The mom didn''t seem to mind....

Q, what ever happened to your cousin''s twins?

Pave, I think that crib would be fine. Very small though. But if you are short on space. My friend has one similar to the last one on the first row (with that separate long piece) Her 18 month old put his foot in between and that is how he gets out of his crib. Scary. She put pillows all around it. Some things you just CANNOT avoid.

Hope all the new mommies to be feel better. The first tri is rough but it will pass.

Tacori - I mentioned a couple weeks ago that one of the twins passed away. It was kind of a surprise to our cousin because that twin was actually the one who was doing better. The other girl is still in an incubator. She has blood clots in her brain when she was born. That''s the last I''ve heard about the baby girl.

Our cousin and the family are being quiet about the whole situation. They are being really superstitious and regretting things that they''ve done. Like our cousin and her DH regret going house hunting during her pregnancy because supposedly according to her older sisters that it''s bad luck. And then all the sisters are regretting planning her a shower because none of them ever had one and when they decide to give her, this situation happened. They even told my SIL not to plan one for me because showers are bad luck.

Q, what ever happened to your cousin''s twins?

Q, I''ve been meaning to ask too.

Ella

That felt name book is unique.
Are you going to make one for MsK and BigG?

I''ll post pix of Jadie if you post pix of your twinsies

MrsS
Too bad there isn't some sort of program that would let us dictate what we want to post on PS huh? :)

Anyway, Jadie was nursing for that long.
45 minutes for each hour with 15 minute naps for 3 hours, which in essence is like nursing for 2 1/2 hr.
I think she's got lot of gas in her and it's not letting the milk down.
I hope the puking was just a one time thing...it's heart breaking seeing milk comning out of her nose
8.gif

Question:
Do you have problem with milk leaking when you are nursing?
It's insane how much milk was leaking out of me....1 oz per feeding.
Any tip on stopping the leak?

Snlee
Cute belly shot

Can''t wait to see what you are having come end of May

Q, I missed that post. I am so sorry to hear that. I hope the baby girl pulls threw. They were so premature. Sad.

Bobo, love the new AV. Little B''s cheeks are so cute!

Diver, you owe us a Delaney photo! Is she still looking like Tessa? Sorry to hear about your BOB. Babycenterstore can be a pain! I hate their coupon policy!

Oh? I thought it''s the other way around. BF is runnier and less smelly.

Bobo and Burk--
Love the new avis...
Little B and Tayva are getting so big.

Neatfreak--
Wow, you are early with your shopping?
That''s good. You can never to too prepared for the baby.
I had to make DH run out to get some items because I kept dillydallying
41.gif

lili, I do think BF smells less (as does the vomit). Poor little T got very backed up a few months ago and the nurse said that was not unusual for BFed babies (she was almost all BM then). I think she went 5 days. With the increased formula it is not unusual for her to poop 3x a day.

OK, drive by...will post more later...

But wanted to say, Diver...check with your REI. They may be able to special order the choc and pink for you...and why not, as they are a distributor for BOB, right? Starting May 2, all BOB strollers are 20% off, without the member discount...it''s just a general sale. Members get 20% off, but it''s only off full priced stuff, and since the BOB''s on sale, it doesn''t apply.

It''s worth it to check it out...especially since Babycenter f''d up...

Jas12--
Love the updated avi

It''s fun seeing how you ladies change your avis to your wee ones.

Q--
Sorry to hear about the twins.
Hope the baby girl pulls through.
Sending your cousin and family lots of well wishes.

i''m sure the rest of the ladies here would love to see those beautiful eyes

TGal--

How''s your milk coming?
Did it increase in volume?

Hey, I didn''t realized how close you and MsF are actually to me -- Torrance you say?
We should make a playdate for the girlies and MsF''s Ian

Wow, backed up for 5 days?
I''d always thought that BM makes it easier for them to go.
I was surprised at how much effort Jadie was exerting with her bowel movement.
Her face would be bright red and she''d be grunting like a sumo wrestler.

Aaaaw! I especially love the look on her face in the ball monitor shot, Lisa. She's a beautiful little girl, thanks for the pics.

Jas, how was the inlaw hell? Here's a tip I learned from my BFF, you might want to try it out - Kimmy's patented chilly stare.

when you sense an inappropriate comment about to emerge, smile brightly and make good eye contact with the potenial transgressor. Look like you're expecting them to say something useful / important / lovely. Then, allow the smile to fade to a slack jawed look of horror as you let what they say sink in. Do this stage slowly, for maximum impact. Now, draw your head and shoulders back slightly, (think pony just about to rear up) and just stare straight at them. Say nothing. Wait for a moment longer than is comfortable, then change the subject. If eye contact is too uncomfortable, stare at the mouth. I've never, ever had to do this twice!

However, if you do get a really stubborn one, you can repeat what they've said quietly under your breath while your smile is fading. That tends to reinforce the point nicely.

Possibly the ultimate in passive aggressive, but it worked for me. Even my mother can resist passing some of the worst of her comments. Not all of them. but enough!

On the subject of my mother, I really need to have a little vent. She's very much one for keeping up social appearances. We had lunch together yesterday, not something we often do and I was looking forward to attempting to bond with her a little (better late than never, right?). My fingers were a little puffy so I wasn't wearing my rings. Well, she couldn't get out of that restaurant fast enough when she spotted that. I'm 8.5 months pregnant and I wasn't wearing a wedding ring! Horror, shame etc. She was mortified and really angry. Plus, I wasn't wearing a 'nice maternity dress' but jeans and a wrap top that emphasise my bump. Do I have to be so indescreet and brazen etc? WTH? How is this woman going to react when I bf?

Thanks for letting me vent! Now I see it written down, I'm able to laugh at how ridiculous it is.

MrsMitchell~Sorry you had a rough outing with your mom!

Lisa~Cute pics of the little one!!

Tacori~Thanks! It''s one of her 3 mo. shots....we just got all the proofs back and I''m probably going to end up ordering most of them again. I''m such a sucker. Tessa is such an exersaucer pro that she was showing her friends how to use it huh? I doubt your neighbor cared about the drool...that''s what babies do!
1.gif
I just love play dates. So cute.

Diver~sorry about the mix-up. Hope you''re able to get your BOB.

Lili~Do you mean leaking while she''s eating like it''s not going in her mouth? Maybe you have more milk than she can drink? Tayva was such a slob I always had to put a burp cloth under my breast to catch milk.
