Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

lili...45 minute every hour to nurse
23.gif
there is no way i''d have time if Jake took that long. he''s about 10 min. on each side and eats every 2-3 hours. i heard at some point the boob is drained and they use you as a paci. you might think about calling to see if she''s getting too much milk because it sounds like your milk production is sure keeping up.45 minutes with only 15 min. naps and then eating again right away seems a bit too much too me..but i''m just a mom with no professional training so i don''t know for sure. But that''s serious commitment woman, if jake did that i''d have to switch to formula
2.gif
re: the leaking, eventually once you get regulated with supply and demand they "other" breast will stop leaking. when you are nursing and your milk is letting down, the other side is letting down too, hence the leaks. it''s very normal.

lisa- adorable pics, what an angel..

Mrs. M: that inlaw trick is WAY too funny. thank goodness my inlaws are great, but i can just imagine putting that to use! and ugh about your mom''s comments. that''s probably the LAST thing you need to deal with right now... how many days left??

i''m also laughing about jackie''s baby show... omg, that kid is DEF scarred for life!!

Lisa: LOVE the pics. your daughter is too gorgeous.

Lili: you have serious committment. hearing the 2 1/2 hour thing makes me VERY nervous!

Mrs. S, Tgal: thanks for stopping by. So glad to hear you guys are doing well!!

Everything is good on my end. headache FINALLY went away (although the puking came back! guess it''s a trade off!).
forgot before to mention my one good news item...

I HAD TO BUY A BIGGER BRA!!!!!!

omg...all the way from an A to ..... gasp....a B!!! haha, but hey, progress is progress, right?? too bad it''s still lookie but no touchie for DH!! :)

Tacori, Thanks for the pooping info. Little B''s cheeks was the first thing I notice right after the doctor put him on my stomach. He got skinny arms and legs and flat stomach...it''s like all the fat goes to his cheeks...

Qtiekiki, so sorry to hear one of the twin passed away. Your cousin must be heart broken. Praying that the baby girl pulls through

Thanks lili, babies grow up so fast...

Lisa, Olivia is so adorable!! and blue eyes...wow...

Hi all

i feel so out of it--i can''t keep up with posts since i am still at my techno-less mom''s house, so i apologize if my posts are jas-centric
5.gif

Lili--you must be exhausted nursing that long!? can you tell when she is no longer eating? Co swallows very loudly and i can hear his digestive tract moving along so i know when he is eating vs. using me as a pacifier. Co nurses for around 10-25 min depending on how long it''s been since his last meal. In the night sometimes it takes a little longer b/c he keeps falling asleep.
Cohen''s belly stump fell off at 4 days!! too early, it bled a bit but is now perfectly healed thank goodness--i was worried.

MrsS--does jake eat every 3 hours during the day as well? I find Cohen eats so much more often while awake?

Things are pretty good around here. Cohen is fast asleep, snoring, as i type--he is so cute when he sleeps

2.gif
The other day he was up from 9am to 12am with only a 20 min nap! He was grouchy at night but wasn''t overly fussy or anything--strange. The next day he slept most of it away.
Nursing continues to go fairly well--the main problem being Co likes to latch on well and then pull away so that he mostly has the nipple. I am really sore on one side, but not cracked or anything. I am hoping i just toughen up.

When does the hair usually start to fall out? I am waiting, in fear....

jas...just wanted to say that i LOVE the new avatar. cohen is SO cute!!!

jas, were all a little (username) centric right now, it''s hard to find to type/write. i''m glad you checked in with an update.

jake may nurse every 2-2.5 during the day but rarely if ever less than 2 hour intervals.

jake likes to pull away too and get one last shot of milk. i try to get mt finger inbetween his gums and unlatch him before he does it. it will make you really sore,

i can''t remember wgen the hair starts to fall out. i wear mine in a pony tail most days so i don''t really notice at leadt ubtil i clog up the shower drain

Q~forgot to mention earlier how sorry I am for your cousin''s loss. So sad.

Bobo~Little B has such kissable cheeks! You must be loving on him all the time!
2.gif

Jas~this thread moves at such a super fast speed. Glad to hear things are going well with Cohen. Your avatar is so cute! Oh, and the hair falling out thing...never happened to me...maybe won''t happen to you either?

LIA~Congrats on the bra size increase!
2.gif

Tayva had a horrible night last night. She''s been a super light sleeper lately and when I go to put her down for the night her eyes pop wide open and she starts talking and wanting to play. Needless to say I "put her to sleep" 3 separate times last night!!! It was so frustrating because ever time DH tried to help out she would just scream when I gave her to him.....she was just sooo tired and would only be happy with her mommy. Hopefully we''re done with that because I AM TIRED!!!

I always get so caught up in reading and haven't been taking the time to post and respond despite my good intentions, but i'm feeling a bit better every day for the most part, so hopefully i'll be a better online preggo/new mommy friend to you all
1.gif

First of all, Tacori, Burk, Jas -- I love the new avatars! And Tacori, I loves the exersaucer pics!! Talk about a happy girl!

Lisa -- your daughter is gorgeous -- thanks for sharing the pics!

Lili -- My first was like that about the nursing -- I didn't mind b/c i enjoyed the rest that came with it
2.gif

TGal -- yay for more milk coming in -- that's wonderful!

Jackie -- Commenting late on inlaws, but boy, yours have some gall
20.gif
Hope it gets better..... I'm posting my ginormous belly shot and I'm only 13 weeks so I dare you to share yours...after all, we ARE carrying twins
2.gif

I know I'm missing a lot, but i'm still keeping up and thinking about you!

As for me, well, today i went to my first-ever scheduled appointment! It was funny b/c the doctor actually congratulated me for making it all the way to my appt --- I've gone in so many times now b/c of problems (bleeding/spotting). Anyway, I haven't had any spotting for 2 weeks now and the m/s and energy levels are both improving, so other than being enormous and slightly uncomfortable already, I'm doing well
1.gif
Even better, my doc made my next appt for only 3 weeks away again and guaranteed we'll be u/s'ing every time i come in -- yay!

I've decided to make good on a belly shot promise, so here it is (sorry for the bad quality but it's the best i could do by myself for now!) -- i'll post u/s pics too...

...and here''s baby "a" (they were both very active today and the u/s tech didn''t get as good of a picture of "him") h/r was 156:

Wow Jen I can''t believe you are only 13 weeks! Those are going to be some big "boys"! Glad to hear that you are feeling better.

Jen
Congrats on a girl and boy!!!

36.gif

And yay for making to your appt.

That's a cute 13 wk belly.

lili -- that''s so sweet, but i put it in quotes b/c i don''t know yet what they are :) I just HOPE they are one of each ;)

neatfreak -- yeah, i hope they will be big b/c that would be good for them being twins... my 3 boys were all big singles too... you should see the expression on people''s faces when they ask me when i''m due -- it''s priceless until i tell them there''s 2! :)

Thank you for giving me the warm fuzzies about O''s pics.

Jas my hair fell out and I mean out beginning 1 month after breastfeeding.

It''s still falling out and she''s 1 yr old!

Some women don''t have this. I feel like a chia pet.

Happy Thursday everyone!

Amelia is one month today. Wish I could say it flew...but it did and it definitely did not! Well, had the doc appointment this morning. Something fishy is going on. I still can hardly pump a drop, but yet she''s gained 7 ounces since Sunday...that''s crazy! I''m almost concerned something weird is going on because I can''t believe that I have any milk! I''ve been advised to drop the formula supplement down to every other feed and see if she gets irritable just getting whatever I''ve got at the breast. On one hand, I''m thrilled...and on the other hand, I just can''t believe this...

Her head didn''t grow, so it seems I now have a pinhead on my hands. Weight is 25% percent at 8-11 oz and she''s 75%ile in height. Will be interesting to see if this breastfeed only thing slows her down, but she gets cranky when I give her breast first and I can hardly hear her swallow...

lili, I like mixed babies too, but mine really doesn''t look very mixed (even the doc said so). How is it that lisa''s gorgeous daughter is only 1/4 Korean and looks more Korean than my kid?
3.gif

Lots of big ultrasounds coming up here! I can''t wait to see what everyone is having!
36.gif

curly, lily sounds like she is going to have one heck of a weekend. The belle of the ball! Love that pic of lily with her tongue sticking out. She has such lovely doe eyes.
30.gif

neatfreak, that is an awesome deal on the stroller!! My friend just bought the cameleon and it arrives tomorrow. Interested to see what it''s all about!

Ella, so you like the SS class? I was thinking of starting them myself when Amelia is about 6 weeks old. How old were the tots in the class?

Shoot...not caught up yet, but more later as the chickadee is crying for her feed!

Jen--congrats on the boy and girl! I missed that somewhere. Your little XX is going to be one tough cookie with all those brothers!
Your belly is great!

Tgal--happy 1 month! Well, seeing how amelia made her arrival in the world it doesn''t surprise me she''s tricking u with the feeding and weight gain as well.
I am always surprised that when i pump my milk will stop coming down--dry right up it seems, but then when i feed Co right after he has a milk-mustache when he pulls away--obviously getting what the pump did not.

speaking of the monster--anyone have advice for me. Cohen has been up most of the day again today. I can tell he''s cranky, he''ll feed (but not enough to get him full) and then fall asleep for maybe 10 min--only to wake up again hungry--and the cycle continues most of the day. It is tiring for us both, but he doesn''t do it everyday so i don''t know what triggers it. Do i just ride it out, or try to change his routine or something?
I''ve tried keeping him up to eat more, but he gets so sleepy and just suckles instead of eating.

TGal, Amelia is so much like T! Remember when her head was down to 10%? It is back up to 25% so don''t worry. The doctor was not concerned at all but hats look silly on her. Happy 1 month to BOTH of you! Hopefully the fog will lift soon.

Jas12, I think Co is too young for routines. I didn''t even worry about it until she was 4 months. I think it is pointless before. Even now she is crying herself to sleep most nights.

Jen, lovely u/s! That is cool you will get so many. Your all belly.

Re: Hair falling out: I cannot remember when it started but it hasn''t stopped yet. It slowed down *slightly*. I have the baby hairs around my hairline (like Katie Holmes had)
20.gif
it''s a hot look.

Jen~Thanks for the compliment on my new avatar. You are all babies in that belly shot!
9.gif
Hurray for lots of US's!!

Tgal~Happy one month birthday to Amelia!! I know some times the days drag on, but to me it seems like just yesterday you were baking that cake!!
23.gif

Jas~I agree with Tacori, so hard to have any kind of schedule when they're that small. We still don't have a set schedule and Tayva is 3 months...although we're getting there. It's so hard when the little ones decide to be so demanding. I hope tomorrow is a better day!
1.gif

I have the baby hairs like Katie Holmes. Although they are finally starting to grow out (helps I cut bangs!).

OK...still catching up...

LoverinAthens...you are almost into your second tri...yay! Isn''t it great to feel better? And I am sorry about the loss of your DH''s grandmother. I hope you and your DH do find that happy medium re: buying stuff before the arrival. I didn''t do much to prepare myself, but I would have been stressed if I wasn''t allowed to buy some stuff to get ready for the baby. At least some diapers!!

Kay that IS a nice dream crib! I didn''t look at any of that stuff since I got a handmedown. No point in making a cute nursery when the kid is bunking in with my office supplies.
20.gif

MsF...hope you have a great trip! How cool you are going to the Ellen show. I wonder what giveaways you''ll get this year! And I hope your interview went well...keep us posted...

snlee, no worries girl...you are still a wee thing! You look better than me pre-preggo.

btw, I jumped on the scale today...I went UP in weight. WTF??!? I haven''t even had much time to eat!!!
29.gif
I''m going to check out stroller strides, pronto!!!

Wow Jackie...you are almost 20 weeks? That went fast!!! And that show sounded intense. I was pretty "natural" when it came to ideas about birthing (which obviously all went to pot) but that episode sounds a bit over the top. I don''t think young kids need to see their mommies in pain.

lili, glad to hear your girl is doing ok. Isn''t it scary when they spit up through their nose? eek! I asked my doc today if it''s bad if she doesn''t seem to burp that much. He said it''s fine...it''s mostly for slowing them down during their feeding. He said his kid once went three days without a burp! And I''m jealous about your leaking...obviously I have no advice for you.
2.gif

btw, where are you in LA? Yes, I''m in Torrance. Like I said, I don''t do get-togethers, but I''d be willing to make an exception if you all bring your babies! Maybe we should do it in October when Diver is here? With MsF, you, Diver and myself, plus the tots that would be a full house! Bobo and Qtiekiki are in the LA/OC area too, right?

neatfreak, yay for morning sickness! (or should that be a question mark? hee hee). I didn''t have bad morning sicknes at all, and I had a girl!

Diva post your nursery pics when you are done!

Lisa, I mentioned it in my other post, but your Olivia is stunning. I do see quite a bit of Korean in her. My Amelia has the same hair color as Olivia...I find it odd since TGuy''s hair is darker than mine!

MrsM, your mother is being silly. She''s just going to have to get over it. Vent away...that is what we are here for!

Jas, I''m waiting for the hair to fall out too. Re: the babies staying up...I hate it when that happens! I try to keep her periods of wakefulness to 2 to 2.5 hours tops...but you can''t force them to fall asleep! After the second hour if she is up, I tend not to stimulate her. She gets cranky and cries so it''s tough. I then move up the next feeding by a half hour and she normally falls asleep for 2-3 hour nap after that and she is fine.

Burk, sorry to hear Tayva didn''t sleep well!

Jen, great belly shot and u/s! I love seeing those...

Tacori, hats look lame on Amelia too. Glad to hear that Tessa was only 10% because I think she''s perfect so that makes me feel better about Amelia!
1.gif

Thanks Burk, little B''s fat cheeks get lots of kisses from me and daddy B everyday. Sorry to hear about Tayva''s horrible night. little B went thru that stage in the first month and a half. Now it''s getting better. Hopefully Tayva will start sleeping more soon.

sk8rjen, love the belly and u/s photos. yeah on a boy and a girl!

Tgal, happy 1 month to you and Amelia! and Yes, I''m the Orange County area. It will be fun to do a baby get-togethers, but kind of hard to find a place to do that with all the babies.

Thanks Tgal and Bobo for the sleeping sympathies. She did much better last night and was down at her normal 7pm bed time.

Had to pop in and share....got all the proofs back from Tayva''s professional 3 mo. pics.
Pic 1:

In her pretty dress...showing off her tongue. Couldn't get her to keep that thing in her mouth!!

And, I''m done. No more photos please.

tayva99.jpg

Sorry those are so huge. Whoops....

jen: love the belly pic. you look great! can''t wait to hear what the "real" sexes are!!! i promise to post one once i actually have something to show. now i''m just the same...but a little thicker around the waist (feeling fat fat fat)!

amelia and tgal: happy 1month! hard to believe...i feel like it was just yesterday we were all dying for the updates. i''m glad the little one is gaining weight!

tayva and burk: GORGEOUS photos! i love when people do professional shots!! she''s a beautiful little girl!

bobo: did you ever find a new ped that you like better??

hope everyone else is well!

Dreamer: Isn''t it so much fun to plan your life around the academic job market? At this point our EDD is January 3, which is actually pretty great for us because neither of us are on the job market this year, and we''ll both have a few weeks off before the semester starts again. Although we are both done with classes this fall and will be working on dissertations, so I guess semesters don''t really matter anymore!

So much fun.

This is just a quick drive-by because I have to leave for the amnio in half an hour. I am so nervous. Sorry if I miss anyone.

MsF, congrats on getting to go to the Ellen show twice. Hope you and your friend score some good stuff.

Snlee, you look so cute in your 15-week shot. I think concealment at this stage is largely a matter of dressing and standing the right way. I will try to get DH to take pics for me this weekend.

Lisa, Olivia is beautiful. Thank you for sharing the pics with us.

Burk, good to hear not all little kids are beavers. Cute new AV! All of T’s proofs are beautiful, I especially love the last one.

Jas, woohoo, almost to the half-way mark!

36.gif
Glad your glucose tolerance test came back ok. I just looked up how they do that test and it does not sound fun so I’m glad you don’t have to go for the longer one. Do they give all pregnant women a GTT, or only if there are indicators for diabetes?

Tacori, thanks for the tips on the jelly bands for teething.

Diver, bummer about the Bob debacle. I hate when stores screw up orders like that. Maybe you can return the full price one to Babycenter and get one on sale at REI.

Neatfreak, sorry you are now experiencing the joys of m/s. I wonder how bad it has to be to be associated with having a girl?

Lili, that sounds like a looong nursing session.

Diva, congrats on getting the nursery started. Please post pics!

Qtie, I am so sorry to hear about your cousin’s baby.

MrsM, “Kimmy''s patented chilly stare” sounds like a good skill to learn.

31.gif
Sorry about the rough lunch with your mom.

LIA, congrats on the bigger bra. My DH isn’t crazy about the look but no touch rule either. (He’s also confused because some times it is safe and sometimes it really hurts.) I need to go shopping soon for new bras. I decided to run last week for the first time in two months, and none of my jog bras would fit – it was hilarious how squished I looked.

Jen, cute belly shot and u/s pics of the twins! I hope you get the boy and girl you want.

Tgal, happy 1 month b-day to Ttot!
36.gif

Burk, love the photos...especially the one Tayva is sleeping in your arm...Tayva is beautiful.

lover in athens, we found a new ped and medical group but can''t see them until June due to insurance so I don''t know yet. fingers crossed that it will be a good one.

LIA -- i remember that "fat" feeling -- but it''s so worth it :) soon you''ll be showing "for real" ;)

kay -- hope your amnio goes well!

TGal -- i can''t believe it''s been a month already either -- wow! we need more amelia pics!

Burk -- gorgeous pics!! i love that she''s sticking her tongue out :)

jen

Kay: They just say "bad" morning sickness. I assume it is in relation to the others in the study? But it''s important to remember that it only increases the probability that you are carrying a girl, so you can''t really make any "for sure" judgements about your own pregnancy. But for those who want a girl and have horrible morning sickness it sure is nice to hear!
