Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Hey ladies, so they had me pretty freaked out this morning because they wanted us to rush in...apparently my betas were super high and they were worried about a molar pregnancy.

So I had my ultrasound and it's TWINS!!!!!!!! Which is the reason my betas were so super high. We are still in a state of shock because I have no twins in my family, no fertility drugs, I'm young, etc.

But that's it. Twins. We saw both heartbeats and they are both around 160 and going strong. I just cannot believe it!!!!!!!

I'll write more later once I have digested it a bit more and we'll put up our ultrasound picture. I just am in shock right now.

Linda

I'm sort of amazed that of the four twin pregnancies here (Jackie, Jen, Neatfreak, me), all were "spontaneous" (no IVF/IUF). They say the reason multiple births are on the rise is due to medical intervention, but I think we're proving that wrong!!

Congrats again! I'm beyond excited for you and hubby!!!!!!!!!!!!

ETA: I've mentioned this before but now that it's relevant to you, I'll throw it out there again: twinstuff.com is a good place to check out. There's an "expecting twins" forum, which I frequented a lot when pg for info and now I'm in the "first year" one. It's no PS *AT ALL* (you'll see some things there that will just boggle the mind!) but I did find it helpful! Hope to see you there!

ellaila: Absolutely love your baby pics in your Avatar. How adorable they are!!!

Linda

Thanks Linda! They're pretty cool kids, if I do say so myself! And if you want to be an honorary Nana to twins ... well, ya wanna come babysit tonight, Granny?

Hey Mamas, what are you favorite books to read the kiddos? Our new favorite is Dinosaur's Binkit by Sandra Boynton. LOVE this book! Just saying "O! It's my binkit!" cracks the babes up repeatedly. I love all the Boynton books actually, I just think they're so cute and silly. So what are your faves?

Well, if you live in Northern California, I WOULD LOVE TOO. I would love to have more grandchildren. I just have two little boys, ages 6 and 8. That is all I will have. My daughter isn''t going to have anymore. Nuts!!!

Thank you so much Ellaila! I am sure I will need the support. I know no one else who has twins IRL, so I think we're on our own here. Hubby is now dancing around the house saying "I shot, I scored, TWICE!". He's so proud of himself even though we don't know if they are fraternal or not yet. They said they couldn't tell in our picture.

It is odd that there are four sets of twins on such a smallish forum, but I am so happy for the company!

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Neatfreak. Your husband is so funny.

I loooove the Boynton books! My fave is "Personal Penguin". If you google it, you can find this guy singing it too.

Tacori--maybe you can pump to relieve the pain and instead of tossing that great milk, freeze it in ice-cube containers and use it to mix with her cereal or something (in place of cows milk or water)
justa thought.

Tgal--i hate pumping too--hurts my already sore boobs, and it''s so darn slow, i am always amazed at how it seems hard to get 4 or 5 oz in a day, yet when Cohen nurses the milk flows like a river and he is fighting to gulp it down fast enough--babies are just so much more efficient at that task.
I think you gave BF a fantastic go --most ppl would have given up on day one, i don''t know how long i''ll stick with it, but i am just thankful for each day that goes by without bleeding nips or something, mine are always sore!

I''m just a lurker here but congratulations on twins neatfreak!! Woohoo!!

Congrats Neatfreak!! That''s so exciting!!!

Thanks all. It is so great to be able to share this news with you guys! We've only told our parents and VERY few friends about the pregnancy and only our parents about the twins. We're both sitting here doing research on it and are still both shell shocked.

Jas: We'll have to have a twin playdate in Chicago sometime assuming all goes well, I'm in Madison!

Congrats NF!! And can I add my surprise and amazement at 4 sets of PS twins??! Craaaazyyyy!

Tacori--What a great gift idea! I may have to borrow it for some of my preggo friends. And love your avatar, BTW, she is adorable!

Oh, girl, I''m in!

Ella has been a great source of support and info for twin pregnancy. I know she will be for you as well. I only hope I can offer my perspective as well. I can tell you, brace yourself for a wild, wonderful ride.

And buy stretchy pants.

Lol. Girl I can''t wait to meet you. You are a riot. And don''t worry I already have stretchy pants AND a skirt. Guess we now know why I feel so bloated already!!!

Thanks T-Gal, I wish June can come faster. Love the new pixs of Amelia, she is too cute..

Ellaila, love the necklace!

Thanks Burk! Hope your insurance will cover the pot of gold that Tayva need.

Tacori, Yeah on the sleep!! and congrats on the 6.5 months of BF. Really envy all the moms that is BFing. little B doesn''t latch on well from the beginning and he got no patient plus the milk didn''t come in until a week later so I had to pump from the very beginning and with little milk I just gave up after one month of pumping.

neatfreak, congrats on the twin news!!

Tacori, you rock for going 6.5 months wth BFing!! That's so completely awesome. And your shower gift is too cute! What do the boxes look like? (Did you see my question on books?)

ETA: OH!!! Look at the new little B avatar!!!

wow!!! Congrats, neatfreak and hubby. I am so thrilled for you. I can''t believe all of the adorable twins here either.

I believe it''s due to the fact that our diamonds have special powers

Bobo~Cute new avatar!!

Ella~Love your new avatar, too! Books....well right now our favs are the touch and feel ones. She has a puppy one that she LOVES!! My classroom is right across from the library and our head librarian was just telling me about a great line of books. I''ll have to write down the name and post them!

Here is the u/s picture. DH has so fondly named Twin A "Mountain Goat" and Twin B "Otter". Pretty amusing...but there are clearly two in there!

Any twin mommas or twin mammas to be know when you can tell if they are fraternal or identical?

Neatfreak,

Bless their little hearts. yes, you can see two precious babies. LOVE the names your hubby picked. LOL. How proud he is!!!

Linda

Neatfreak- your husband''s names for the babies seem like they are perfect- how cute. Wow you guys really got to see alot. I couldn''t really see anything - maybe the head and definitely the heartbeat.
How far along are you? Did you get an edd? when is your first appt? Will it stay the same? wow this is so cool.

Thanks Pave, we are so excited! DH is already scheming about how he can use it against them later in life. We did get to see a lot, I was fairly impressed with the US tech! We saw (and HEARD!!!) the heartbeats too. Both strong and about 160 BPM.

I am 7 weeks 4 days, so I guess that my estimate of O date was right on the money! My edd is then January 3 if it was a singleton, but because it is twins I don''t know if they change that because they usually come early? Who knows. Twins average around 36 weeks, so if I''m on the average it would be about December 6th. Crazy!!!

My first real appt will stay the same, it is the 29th. Apparently my Dr. is out all this week, so they couldn''t squeeze me in sooner even if they wanted to. But since they saw the heartbeats and all appears ok, they now aren''t worried. But they scared me this morning that is for sure!!
