Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Thank you everyone for the congratulations on the amnio results. I have been MIA for a while and am several pages behind, so forgive me if I don’t mention everyone.

Diver, D is so cute in her bikini. Very nice watch – I have to remember that trick. Love that pic of your little man too.

Monarch, your niece is adorable – love the bottle pic.

Burk, hooray for giggles. Sorry the cereal didn’t go down better.

Gemma, great u/s pics.

Lisa, I agree – 46XX rules.

2.gif

Jas, Boo to SIL – jelly belly indeed, the nerve. You look so cute.

Ephemery, yay for team pink!

36.gif

Tacori, that squash picture is killing me.

LIA, congrats on the house!

36.gif

Jas12, that Mother’s Day photo of you and Co is beautiful. Love his bathtub pic too.

Ella, your “monkeys” are adorable in their P&P. Your new necklace is so pretty.

Lili, your “monster” looks a bit unhappy in that pic, but still cute.

TGal, your bathing beauty looks so cute peeking out from behind her towel. I hope your back is better.

MrsS, Jake looks so snug and peaceful in his Miracle Blanket – I have to get one of those. Your new niece is adorable, what a head of hair she has.

MsF, Ian has such beautiful eyes.

Neatfreak, congrats on twins!

36.gif
We have so many twin sets here on PS – I am jealous. Love “mountain goat” and “otter.”
2.gif

Sounds like there were a few husband incidents lately. DH keeps saying how much he’ll help, but we’ll see. He was supposed to finish his project over an hour ago and spend time with me, but here I am by myself on the couch. Thank heavens for PS.

Jen, yay for 2 girls!

36.gif

So, we finally told our parents last week. My mother almost took my ear off with her high pitched squeals of delight. DH’s mom had to immediately call most of the Atlantic seaboard.

20.gif
I’ve started telling people at work too, so I can stop trying to hide the bump. I’d rather they know I am PG at this point rather than just think I am snacking too much, lol.

I wore a maternity outfit out for the first time last Saturday. It was a friend’s 40th b-day party, so I wanted to get a little dressed up. DH actually called me a MILF, lol – he got points for that one. Here’s a picture of me in our garden at 18 weeks at 4 days. I look so much more pregnant in maternity clothes than in my regular clothes – empire-waist styles really emphasize the bump.

Hey all happy Saturday!

CONGRATULATIONS sk8rjen on Team Pink x2!! How exciting!! What gorgeous photos! Thanks for posting your scan.

Diver, great watch, love the email approach-you go girl! Glad you and DH are back on good terms.

Jas, thanks for the post about the ms. Love the picture of your gorgeous boy!

Tacori, yay for your PS gift! Hope you are having a great time at the beach! Big AWWWW on the new avatar!

Diver, sorry about poor Delaney
7.gif
. Don''t have any great advice beyond what you are doing! I hope she feels better soon! How cute is Jake....!

Ella,
23.gif
on your hubby story-I can totally see DH doing that. We might have to have a chat before bubs arrives!

MrsS, congratulations on your new niece!

Radiant girl, I''m so sorry that you are going through this. I can''t remember how far along you were when you had your D&C-if the pregnancy levels were very high it can take a while to come down. I''ll see if I can dig up some more info. Hugs and I really hope that AF arrives and you can carry on.

JenM I hope you are having your little one! Looking forward to your birth story and photos!!!

Curly, yay for a good scan. LOVE the photo of Lily.

Jess, I can identify with feeling emotional-I went from teary to giggling the other night-DH thinks I''ve lost the plot!

Burk, I''m so glad that things are getting better with feeding! Yay!!

Tgal, I hope you are back to 100% soon-sorry, no pun intended!

Kay! You look STUNNING. What a cute bump and you are glowing.

So I am kind of feeling hopeful that the MS thing might be settling down. Despite working nights earlier in the week, I had three full meals yesterday, no funky cravings, no vomiting, and today I did not feel nauseated until about 4 pm-a MAJOR first. Thanks to everyone for your encouragement and fingers crossed that it continues!

I told my boss this week and he was great- although non committal about when I should stop working nights. I''d like to work to 38-39 weeks but it''s a ''on your feet'' job so I''ll just see how it goes. At this stage we don''t even know where we''ll be living when the bubs is born so I''ll have to chill a bit on the planning I think! I was looking at changing jobs later in the year so I have yet to meet with that employer and discuss transitioning back from mat leave. I am not expecting that he will be as supportive but c''est la vie.

Ok, my hot tip for the early preggos: the belly belt. I have bought a couple of bands to try later on but this means I can wear all my usual clothes with a little bump. I don''t know if it''s an Aussie product but here''s a US website:

http://www.zodee.com/womens/fertile-mind/belly-belt/bb-combo/?partner=froogle&member=us&utm_source=froogle_us&utm_medium=comparison&utm_campaign=froogle&content=BB-COMBO

I bought mine at Target for less than they are advertising on line but here''s an Aussie website:
http://www.fertilemind.com.au/page.asp?2574=372932&E_Page=353295

Think I remember reading something about an Aussie mum who came up with it but could be totally wrong-even if so, I''m sure there are equivalent things elsewhere!

Oh Kay,

You look FABULOUS in that maternal dress! Last weekend when we met you were glowing and healthy looking, but you were right - with the jeans on you looked "less pregnant"! :D

I am glad the news is out in the open as your precious girl will now get all the attention she deserves from the world! :D

Awwee Jas12, Co is sooo cute!!!
30.gif
30.gif

Thanks for posting the larger format
5.gif

Hehe, I did post a pix of the little monster throwing a fit.
I''ll put a happier one later this week.

Funny you should mention about Co sleeping in the swing.
J slept in the swing for the first time today too....although it wasn''t as long as I had hoped for.
At least now I can put her in there if I need to put her down right after she falls asleep after her feeding.

Jen
Wow, those u/s are pretty detailed.
Still, I can''t tell the difference between a boy/girl
3.gif

But it looks like it''s detailed enough for the tech to know for sure that both are girls.

Is this your big u/s scan or are you going to have the big scan later?

Kay
I got to hand it to you, you are great when it comes to responding to everyone
41.gif

I lose track of who post what and never for the life of me keep up with this thread, especially now with the wee one.

You look great!!!
I wouldn''t be able to tell that you are preggo if you didn''t hold your dress down around your belly.

Sounds like you had a ball spreading your good news
36.gif

Gemma
Third trimester is notorious with water retention, especially in the legs.
Since your job requires you to be on your feet, I''d make sure that I can work something out with the boss to take many breaks
if I were to work through 38-39 wks.

hi ladies..I think the little bows are so cute. The hospital actually puts them on the heads of all the girl babies. they use some type of glue so even the baldies get little bows
3.gif
jake is definitely turning into a BOY. no questions or mistakes asking how old ''she'' is..lol. I used to get asked how old is ''he'' when my girls were in pink dresses
20.gif
.

That''s funny.
For some reasons, people seem to assume the wrong sex when it comes to newborn.
Refering to "he" for the girls and "she" for the boys.
J still get mistaking for a "he".
Oh, and I didn''t put clips or bows on her. Figured that people still make the same mistake anyway, so why bother
41.gif

The little bow on Adena is too cute...looks so much better than the headband
1.gif

Oh, looks like your Jake takes after his daddy from what I can see from one of the pix that you posted.
I always like to see if the babes are carbon copies of which parents :)

Jen, your GIRLS are beautiful!!! CONGRATS!!!

I know I have a ton to catch up on but I''ve got a quick question to ask the mommies: what was your feeding schedule like at ~6 months? So far, I''ve only been giving the babes rice cereal once a day from the spoon (which they love), but I just made my first batch of sweet potatoes tonight, so I''m ready to give them that starting tomorrow. So Tacori, Diver, MsF, and anyone else who remembers, I''m just curious how many times a day you were doing solids at this stage? And do you give cereal with each new solid? Like would I introduce just the sweet taters on their own? Or mix with cereal? And when do you stop with the cereal altogether?

Sometimes I just feel so clueless
33.gif
I read and I read and I read, and I swear sometimes it leaves me more confused than before I started looking for info! So some advice from my friends here would be really helpful! Thanks
21.gif

Oh, speaking of you guys being my friends, here''s a silly true story: I was eating some letter cookies in the car yesterday, and the babies were sleeping, so to amuse myself I''d look at the letter on a cookie and make myself think of someone I knew whose name began with that letter before I could eat the cookie (or else I''d just shovel them all in my mouth at once). So I get a D, and who''s the first name I think of? DELANEY!! Hahhaha! See, I love you guys.

Question for all you Twin Mommas (or Twin Mommas in the making!) Anyone remember how big they were at 8 weeks? I feel like I''m either starting to show already or I am developing a beer gut. And since I haven''t been drinking any beer, I think there is really only one answer here. Is this possible??? It seems so early...but I guess my only real life points of reference have been singletons.

I am so glad y''all are ahead of me on this so I can ask you these inane questions!

My cousin had twins, she is an identical twin herslef, she showed early. Not huge, but the bump was more noticeable... So yes, totally normal. I think some of us singleton Mom''s show early. I know I did with my daughter, it was like whao!!! Even my Aunt was wondering if I was carrying twins. What an exciting time for you Neatfreak. You''ll get so many questions answered here, and the support is incredible. Guessing you know that already. I look forward to seeing you go through this exciting journey in your life. So FUN!!!

Thank you so much Kaleigh. All my friends (who know we are having twins) who have had babies have commented on my um, rather large size already for 8 weeks! Just wanted to make sure I wasn't a freak of nature! Lol. I'm certainly not huge by any means, but if I wear a tight shirt you can completely tell. So I've been taking advantage of all the breezier styles available right now...

You guys really are the best.

Hey, NF, well I think your little ones are like the size of this - * - right now, so I don''t think they''re changing your belly appearance too much yet
2.gif
But I suppose you could be showing in other ways - bloating, etc? Not sure. I didn''t know I was preggo with twins till I was 9 weeks, and I didn''t start to swell at all (and by that, I mean visible to me and hubby only) until about 11-12 weeks. I think I started to look actually preggo at like 15 weeks? But everyone is different and everyone shows differently, so if you think you''re showing, then you probably are! Heeee!! And the fun begins!!
36.gif

Kay, you look great, mama!! Look at that fabulous li'l belly!!!!

Burk, I hope the Alimentum works for Tayva! I've never heard of a baby having corn allergies before - yikes, the poor little thing. I think one of the worst things about all this is that it transforms these sweet little happy babies into sad little babies. When Gabe was at his worst, I missed my happy man SO much. Thankfully, he's back, and I can't wait till you get your sweet little Tayva back in all her happy glory!

Jas, ohhhh Co is super cute!! We made the mistake of trying Aquaphor on Katelyn's head -- EEEEK
32.gif
Oh my! She had the greasiest combover for like three days, even after I washed it like two times a day for each of those days. It was so gross (but funny). If Co is a baldy (or has super light hair), then I guess those greasy things may be OK for him, but they're a nightmare for babies with full heads of hair. Smart idea about the homemade wipes, lady! So is the cloth diapering working out well for you?

Tacori, did you see my post about solids? Since Tessa is closest in age to my guys, I was most curious about what your schedule is like right now. I'm looking forward to giving the babies the sweets today. Should be a messy fun time
21.gif
By the way, gorgeous earrings!! But I gotta admit, I'm more excited to see your PP ... any day now!

MrsM, hope to hear from you soon!!

MrsS, how's Adena doing?

So to add to Gabe's already fun week, now the little dude has a cold and conjuctivitis
39.gif
He's still in a pretty good mood though (thank God!), so as long as he seems to feel OK, I'm not going to complain about it. His cough breaks my heart though. But he thinks sneezing is the bee's knees and is usually good for a giggle. Please send along some dust for me that K doesn't get sick too!

Oh, and my belly issues from last week? Still having that discomfort. Starting to get a little worried about some type of gastrointestinal issue or a hernia (I've had two before on that side but no pain with them before), so going to call the doc today I think. *sigh* Jeez, doctors must love my family with all the money we've given them this week!

Hope you're all doing well!

ETA: Just read on the twins forum that Dawn dish detergent works on cradle cap. Hmm. Not sure if I would use that on my baby's head, but someone there swears it cleared up one baby with one shampoo and the other baby by two shampoos.

Hello!

Sorry I''ve been so long in posting an update. The good news is that our daughter Amelia Charlotte was born on the 21st May at 1.30pm.

Everything that could go wrong did, nothing went to plan and I ended up with an emergency section (and a real taste for diamorphine lol). All was well in the end and she and I are both doing really well. My midwife attended water birth plans lasted until my waters broke, stained with meconium, so we had to go the medical route. Am I the only person for whom pitocin does not actually induce labour? It took many, many attempts to get the IV into a vein for the hormone drip, and at the time, I thought it wouldn''t get worse than that. Ha. You live and learn. I had two epidurals in the end (first one didn''t work, then the catheter fell out) a couple of canisters of gas and air (I like that stuff a lot) some diamorphone (like it a lot more) a complete spinal block and eventually, surgery. Did I ever mention my needle phobia? Well, I think I can safely say I''ve been cured of that
9.gif
I actually kept thinking about MrsSalvo''s post from a few months ago, when she said that the epidural was great and not painful or distressing when it was set up - I clung to the words of that post while the anaesthetist worked on the first epidural. LOL

Poor little girl was nameless until today, as we had planned to call her Charlotte Amelia (family names from each side) but she looks nothing like a Charlotte! It took us ages to figure it out - just swap them round and suddenly it really suits her. Hope there''s room for another little Amelia here.

We''re totally besotted with her. I read all the books, but nothing prepared me for how much I love this little girl.

Thank you for your support through my pregnancy and for letting me share it all.
I''ll post some more pics when I have a little more time.

Jen

MrsM: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! your daughter is just BEAUTIFUL!!! she looks NOTHING like a newborn...she has all her features and a beautiful head of hair :)...i can imagine why u r totally in love with her ....I''m sorry to hear that the surgery didn''t go as you had planned, but at the end of the day im glad to hear that you are both doing well..

Congratulations once again!! (ur daughter and I share a birthday :) )....

MrsM!!!! She is an aboslute doll! All that hair...and those cheeks!! I am partial to some kissable cheeks.
30.gif
Sorry your delivery didn''t go as planned, but look at that prize you got in the end. CONGRATS!!!
36.gif

Jen~The pics of your girls are so fun! Congrats again.

Bobo~Thanks! I hope it works too. So far, so good. Haven''t heard her cry since Wednesday. *knocks on wood*

Kay~You look fabulous!! Love the little bumb. Isn''t it fun to finally tell people?
21.gif

Gemma~Thanks!

Ella~yea, the most uncommon had to happen to MY baby.
8.gif
I''m just so relieved that we may have finally found an answer. She has been super happy these last few days. Feeding is going much better. So, we may have found our answer. I can totally relate to sad baby....NO fun for baby and super stressful for mommy. I was a wreck these past couple weeks. I hope your tummy problem is just a bug. My little brother had stomach bug that lasted on and off for 5 days last week! Hope you feel better soon.

Msb~Thanks!!

Lili~Thanks!

Jas~Such a cute pic of Cohen. I love bath time pics!

T is upstairs "talking." She must be done napping....better go get her.
9.gif

Mrs. M: CONGRATS!!!!! She is just absolutely adorable. I just want to kiss those cheeks all day!

Ellaila: I did think it was a bit early, but something is sure making my stomach pooch out a bit! Not sure what it is, but considering my bad morning sickness has made me eat virtually nothing for the past few weeks, it must be the babies in one way or another. The weird thing is that I was totally bloated for the first few weeks, then that went away, and now this is here, but it isn't the same bloating if that makes sense. It's just weird. Luckily I finally get to see my Dr. this week so I'll ask him! Hope Gabe feels better soon, I can only imagine how heartbreaking it is when one of your kidlets is so sick! And I hope you feel better too! Make hubby take over for awhile and go take a warm bubble bath or something.

Ella-cute story! I talk about you PSer''s all the time, but it is ridiculous b/c i have to use the screen names so i i''ll say things like "diver said" or ''Tgal" mentoned--hehe, sounds comical. I know what you mean about the annoying conflicting advice--i am going thru that while reading stuff on sleep. I think the only major thing you have to keep in mind when mixing solids is to only mix if the baby has had the item you are mixing with before (which is your case) so that if an allergy develops you know it''s the sweet potato b/c they have had the cereal.

Neatfreak--i think what you are probably feeling/seeing is bloating right now--i remember thinking i had gained tummy weight from the first month! But i didn''t actually get the hard round little belly till nearly half way thru the pregnancy (around week 17-18) Everyone is so different \, my aerobics instructor was pregnant at the same time as me but almost 3 months behind and she was bigger at 6 months than i as at 9. it just really depends on body shape, height, muscle strength etc. Embrace it, you have the best excuse x2 to have that tummy!

So my big Cohen news--He rolled over!?!?! I had him on his tummy (as the start of his ''tummy time'' exercise) and he was fussing a bit so he pushed himself up slightly with this hands and flipped onto his back! Followed by his instant happiness lol--it was neat--my mom and Charlie saw it too and my mom was flipping out. I think it was more a fluke than anything , not purposefull (i don''t think they usually do this till around 3 or 4 months) but it was neat nonetheless.
I also get a kick out of pretending he knows what i am talkign about. Co has this terrible habit of latching really firmly when he eats and then yanking his head away from the breast with my nipple still in his mouth--it is so painful. So yesterday he did it and I said very sternly, while looking him in the eye "NO Cohen, that hurts mommy"!--well, the little monster turned his head downward away from me and gave the biggest, sauciest grin you could imagine. Charlie and i burst out laughing and that just fueled the fire, cuz he was just smiling away--ohhh boy, i am gonna have my hands full!

Kay, love the cute little bump!

ella, I''m sending get well dust to your way, hope you & little G feels better soon. and Hope K won''t get sick.

MrsM, congrats on Amelia Charlotte!! I''m sorry things didn''t went as planned but in the end is both of you are ok. She is so beautiful, full head of hair...and her cheeks...

30.gif

Burk, Yeah on no cry since Wednesday!!!

36.gif

MrsM -- She''s GORGEOU she''s!!! Obviously worth every change of plans, huh?
2.gif
I''m so happy for you and your family!

Ella -- I think about PSers too, how funny
1.gif
Hoping your tummy issues improve soon!

Neatfreak -- I showed early, noticeably by 9 weeks. Everyone thought I was just farther along, and I really ended up telling people about the pregnancy sooner thanI''d planned. I had bloating at first too, and some of it *did* go away, but more of the bloating went away around 12 weeks, so that can be part of the issue. Plus hormonal changes in general make your shape change. I could feel my hardened uterus very early on and thought that was cool. I also have 3 other children and showed earlier with my second and third, but NOTHING like it has been with the twins. I need to post a 16 week shot sometime -- it''s crazy! But, yes, you are normal
2.gif

Jas -- congrats to CO!!!! He must be a strong little guy

Kay -- glad you finally got to tell everyone!!

Gemma -- yay for improving m/s -- I hope it keeps getting better!
1.gif

My Arm''s Reach Co-cleep arrived by fed-ex yesterday and it made me so happy to get it, so of course i had to set it up right away (still gotta take it back down for now!) -- I got a toffee colored one for the babies to be in for the first few months in our room, and I''ve already gotten our pack-n-play for the downstairs living room, so there''s a couple of necessity items out of the way. I dunno about the rest of you, but I LOVE buying baby stuff. I''m just sad that the only carseat design I want is ONLY available as part of a stroller system (and only a single or I might even have considered it!) -- argh! Oh and I had a conversation with my mom the day after we found out the girls are girls and was having to be SO CAREFUL about what I said since we agreed not to tell anyone the genders. I felt like I had to think about every word before I said it so I didn''t use a pronoun and give em away --- this might be harder to do than i thought it would!

Anyway I hope everyone''s enjoying their long weekend....

jen

kay, you look great! Cute baby bump!

ella, good luck with the doc. I hope your belly issue is nothing serious. Keep us posted.

MrsM, congratulations! Amelia is beautiful! I''m sorry you had to have a c-section. I hope you have a smooth recovery.

Jas12, congrats to Co for rolling over! Even if it was just a fluke, he must be a really strong boy!

Jen, love the u/s pictures of your girls. I love buying baby stuff too. My DH loves it even more! He said he gives him a high!
2.gif

Mrs. M---she is BEAUTIFUL! congratulations! i''m sorry to hear about the tough labor though...
Burk: so glad Tayva is feeling better. What a relief!!
Jen: YAY on the girls! what great u/s pics!
Gemma: glad you''re feeling better. hopefully it will continue to get better from here!
Kay: you look amazing! love the dress by the way!
Diver: too funny about your DH. but what an awesome watch!
Ella: i''m glad your baby is ok! i bet DH learned his lesson!!
Radiant: i''m so glad you posted...i was thinking about you. we can''t wait to see you around here more!
Neat: can''t wait to see a belly shot...i bet it''s going to get big fAST!!
Msb: happy belated birthday!!
Tacori: hope you had a great weekend away (can''t remember where you said you were going??)

HOpe everyone that I may have missed is doing well!

Nothing too excited going on with me. The "big" ultrasound is a week from Friday (same day we leave for hawaii). i think we ARE going to find out sex (if we can). i''ll only be 17.5 weeks, so keep your fingers crossed.

i finished my first knitting project for the little one. going to post a pic if that''s ok! can''t wait to know if i should knit in pink or blue! :)

and one more, just b/c i love the buttons!! (i think this may be more true to color also)

Thanks Jen! I think it is a combo of things, because it certainly is harder than usual too, but it isn''t *all* hard, so I think it''s a bit of bloating and a bit of starting to show...can''t wait to see more belly pics from you!!!!

Ha, I think they do understand.
J had the habit of biting down on the nipple and then yanking her head away really fast.
Hurt like h*ll. So one day I let out a scream and told her very sternly "NO...that hurts mommy".
Now she just kinda tug at it, so it''s not too bad.

congrats MrsM!!
Amelia is a doll with that headful of hair.
And look at those brows. Lil J didn''t get hers until a couple of weeks ago

Sorry to hear your labor didn''t go as plan....
but good that all is well.
Rest up and hope you have a quick recovery.
