Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

What new treats have you found that meet our extra nutritional requirements efficiently? How about sharing some of your fave Pregnancy Superfoods!

Mine :

Pumpkin seeds - a crazy amount of iron and protein too!

Black bean soup - iron powerhouse! Just make sure it has LOTS of black beans in it, and splash in some citrus juice (orange or grapefruit) since citrus helps you absorb iron

Yogurt - I''m putting it in everything, muffins, pancakes, soups, you name it. Nice tangy flavour, lots of calcium and protein

Got ideas to share?

Eph:

I am so glad that you at least went in and got monitored! Now your doctor can keep watch and decide if anything further needs to be done. I'm so sorry that you are going through this, it sucks! My little lemons are sending vibes to Lyla to stay put for a few more months!!!!!

Indy:

Honestly Indy, I have spent the past 10 weeks or so just trying to figure out ANYTHING that wouldn't come back up!!!
3.gif

It's only been the past few days or so that I have been able to work more foods back into my diet....so nothing too exciting yet. Soon though!

congrats to regalada!

and to you too neatfreak...i can''t WAIT until i can feel my little bean.

hope you''re feeling better ephemery - i was thrilled with nadal''s win too!

indy, i''ve just been trying to have more chickpeas and dairy - like neatfreak the nausea prevents me from being too into food right now, but i''m hoping that there''s not too much of this left now that i''ve hit 11 weeks.

Ugh, Neat and sbde... I am SO sorry you guys are still dealing with morning sickness. Neat, I can't remember how many weeks along you are? But you must be in the home stretch now... and you will be SO appreciative of being able to eat again, when it finally fades away!! I swear, everything tasted a zillion times better than it ever had, once I finally hit that 17-18 week point.
18.gif
The only thing I could eat consistently the whole through was cheese, for some reason... and I'm still eating a ton of it. Thank your little lemons for their good vibes to Lyla!
12.gif

Indy, I've been eating a lot of yogurt too. I don't like anything flavored or fat-free though... just plain Fage is my fave. DH is really healthy and loves to cook, lucky for me... he's always concocting yummy, protein-filled meals. Tofu stir-fry over quinoa, turkey burgers with avocado, fish tacos with mango, etc. Black bean soup sounds goooood... now I'm craving it, at 10:30 at night! I feel like I'm always hurrying to eat between clients, so I rely on granola bars a lot during the day. Smoothies sometimes too. I've also been into egg salad for some reason this whole pregnancy... good protein as well as being filling, I guess. And I can't get enough fruits/veggies!

Oh and here's a tip for those of you trying to up your water intake... I bought a pack of straws and when I stick one in my regular glass of water, I end up drinking it SO much faster than I would otherwise. Not very environmentally friendly, I know, since I just got the disposable kind
40.gif
... but I try to use the same one for a day or two, and wow, it's making a difference for me!

Eph--eeks, scary. I am pissed at the dr''s for not giving you more of an explanation--helllo--don''t they know preggos are extra sensitive to begin with so of course you are going to be worried. I hope your OB has more answers. I had one day of very very strong BH at around 26 weeks as well (i could time them like you) they went away before i went to my Dr. later that week and she said they could be a sign of pre-term labor (she had some term for it) and told me to get to the hospital ASAP if it happened again so u did the right thing. Turns out i did not get another BH the rest of my pregnancy--even at 42 weeks--so hopefully yours will cease!
the good thing is that ''real'' working contractions are not tolerable (well, for most women anyway) so if you start having *those* then you really know something is up.
Your DH is probably more stressed than he lets on and like you guessed, got the belly ache. When I brought Cohen home from the hospital he choked in the night and woke DH and I up. My Charlie was sick to his stomach a few minutes later. I posted about how he claimed it was something he ate, but later admitted how worried he was

Thanks Eph! Luckily it is subsiding for me this week...but I have been eating such bland and non-assorted food for so long now that actually it''s taking me awhile to get back into the swing of my normal eating patterns! I''m totally working on it though. And LOVING the fact that I can actually stomach vegetables now, especially with our amazing farmer''s market in full swing.

Ephemery Yikes! Oh my gosh-to have contractions and to have to go to hopsital and spend 6+ hrs hooked up to a monitor-yuk. I don't blame you for being freaked out at ALL. It sounds like you are doing all the right things. When do you see your OB? Big hugs-that is a yukky way to spend a weekend.

Indy, I totally missed the post about you seeing your dr. Der. I'm glad your doc reassured you and that it's settled down. When do you go back for another u/s?

NF, that sounds like babies moving!! How exciting!! I'm 20 weeks (with one) and feeling pretty strong regular movements but DH still can't feel anything from the outside. Yay for a vacation! I can totally identify with the wine strategy to deal with the outlaws! Let me know what you come up with as an alternative....
2.gif
Glad to hear that you are on the improve. Fingers crossed that it improves!

Pregnancy Superfoods: like NF and sbde I had about 6 weeks where it was all about what would stay down! I love me some black beans (and quinoa) now though-and am on a tooootal dairy kick. Yogurt, milk, cheese, you name it. Also I crave fresh fruit-which is kind of a bummer here because it's really expensive to buy melons and berries in winter. But what the baby wants....
31.gif
My favourite snack is apple slices with peanut butter-I know some people say to avoid PB during prenancy but it really fills me up. Oh, and oatmeal!! Loooove oatmeal..but as I say, it's winter!

On the water thing-I carry a sports bottle around with me everywhere-for some reason it seems like I drink more out of that than a glass. Eph, I reckon whatever works for you, girl!

I'm just loving the second trimester. If only my skin would settle down I'd be having a textbook preggo. I really miss swimming but I just couldn't do it with my backne
14.gif
, so I've taken to walking instead. Otherwise I feel pretty well-so there is a light at the end of the first trimester tunnel

Here''s my 20 week belly shot-my belly is a lot more diffuse in this one. I think s/he was lying spine against my spine. I hope this is not too large....

20weekbellyshot.jpg

Cute belly, Gemma! We're scheduled to go for another u/s this coming Thursday. Part of me wants to leave it a little later, but I'm flying off to look after mom the following Tuesday, so if there's something wrong, we'll need a day or two to manage it. Pleeeeease, let there be a heartbeat.

I forgot y'all were having m/s. I guess I'm pretty lucky in that respect. So far it's hardly troubled me at all, though I have developed some pretty strong aversions.

Fish tacos sound soooo good, Eph! nyum nyum nyum.

Speaking of food, has anyone else found themselves panicking over something they ate or did that they realized might be dangerous? I always thought that if you cut off the green parts of green potatoes, they were OK, but I just learned that the poison is actually diffused throughout the potato, and the green is just chlorophyll that's your clue that the poison is there. Anyway, I ate a couple of potatoes this week that had had some green on them. Won't kill me, since apparently you'd need to eat 4.5 lbs in one sitting to make them toxic to the average human, but holy cr@p, that means you sure wouldn't need much to make it poisonous to the Cub.

I'm trying to keep myself from over-reacting. Nothing I can do about it now anyway. Except throw out all that black bean soup I made yesterday. Or feed it to DH, I guess.
31.gif

I'm being ridiculous right... RIGHT???
33.gif

Dreeeeeamer, where aaaaaare you?

Hi all -- I am so sorry I've been away for about a week; life has been too hectic. And then I feel guilty for not responding to everyone in the last week. I'm ridiculous. Sorry guys...I've been checking in on everyone, though.

I am second on the preggos in waiting list and it freaks me out! I have my now-weekly appointment at 2PM...let's hope I haven't dilated further, as DH is in Costa Rica on business and it would take him at least 24 hours to get back here. (I'm staying with my folks this week.) I really freaked out after hearing I was dilated and possibly going to the hospital this week. I grounded my little ones and told them to STAY PUT for a month. Let's see how well they listened! I am not baking a thing until at least week 35. I am, however, not adverse to eating baked goods.

So, if you don't hear from me, you'll know I'm in the hospital (either short or long term).

I'm large and in charge now, belly-wise. I haven't seen anything on my body below my belly in quite a few weeks, so I must assume everything south o' the border is ok. Forget, uh, landscaping for the dr. appointments! I have officially adopted the pregnant waddle, or, as I like to call it, March of the Penguins. It's amazing how I'm able to move both forwards and sideways at the same time. Ah, the physics of pregnancy.

DH discovered Reese's Peanut Butter Cup ice cream at our local store. Just when I didn't think it was possible to love him more than I do now!

Regarding cup size -- mine are only eclipsed by my belly. I don't think there are enough letters in the alphabet for mine. I am worried that when my milk comes in that I will topple forward, unable to right myself. Yeah. They're big. And they look so great a restin' and saggin' on my big ol' belly. I'm a sexy thing.

Darkeyesredshoes and Katebar -- thank you for the compliment last week. I hope some day to publish SOMETHING. For now, my silly little entries here are it. But boy do I have lots of ideas. Your encouragement still has me smiling. My ego thanks you!
Neatfreak -- when I am back at Second City(and at the point they let me on stage in front of people), I will let everyone know. I'll reserve a bling section for PSers. Make sure you pump ahead of time, cuz I'm much funnier when other people are drunk. i can't wait to "hear" the genders of your little ones! It's so much fun! I think by 14 weeks I was up 14 pounds. I seem to be on the pound-a-week plan, give or take. However, I am not gaining rapidly 3rd trimester like most twin mommas...but that's because I think my boobs have taken over my entire body and I have no room for food. As I understand it, the "goal" is 24 lbs by 24 weeks for preggos...with most of the 24 coming in weeks, oh, 18-24. Does that make sense? I'm not a doctor, btw. As far as squishing babies, trust me, as a former tummy sleeper, there will come a point where you just CAN'T sleep on your tummy anymore. It's like trying to sleep on a basketball.
LIA -- Haha on pre-ordering on Amazon. That would certainly light a fire under my booty to put pen to paper. I hope you are feeling better these days. Those pains are not fun. I get them every so often...and
14.gif
Congrats on the living situation! Yea! 10 pounds at 21 weeks sounds pretty darned good to me! I am so sorry about your friend.
Janine -- when is your shower?
Snlee -- hey girl! How are you? Has the air quality improved out there in CA? (Relatively speaking, of course.) Yea for baby kicks!
QT How are you doing these days? You are number one now! Are you excited? Did you ever get to the cupcakes?
sk8rjen -- Thanks for asking. I'm ok these days, but yes, very uncomfortable. I just feel full of babies. They have very little room, so they seem to be nationalizing the space that used to be my lungs (and stomach, and duodenum). They stick out every which way. My maternity clothes no longer cover all the belly, so I have a nice tract of tummy skin that the whole world can now see cuz I'm too cheap to get another shirt that conceivably I would only wear for, like, two weeks. I'm a big fan of "Marina" btw. I had a student with that name once, and she was the sweetest, spunkiest, most wonderful kid ever! Happiest of birthdays! Can't wait to see your nursery. Our's is a mish-mosh right now, as we haven't gotten a dresser, so there are random piles of junk everywhere. Oy.
Hi lili! I can't believe you managed to pose for a photo when you went into labor! Good for you! Thanks for the nice words about my photos!
ella You crack me up. Thanks for the nice words on my photos...I feel like I should strut (read:waddle) down the catwalk now. I am getting very excited to be a full-fledged twin momma. I really just feel blessed by the whole thing. You are totally my inspiration (and I am just hysterical, grinning over the latest pix of your babies in the mommy forum!)

How is your little one these days?
ephem I hope you are doing ok today. What a scare! I can't imagine the discomfort you feel and the worry it causes. Sending good vibes your way!
Curly -- thank you also for your kind words. I feel like a tubbo right now, but I cannot wait to meet my big ol' chunky babies.
gemma good to hear from you. Thank you for the compliments. Yea on the 20 wk scan! Sounds like great news!
Indy Nice to see you again. It seems you are starting to enter the wonderful world of "Pregnancy Knows No Boundaries." I'm sorry your dad's wife spouted off like that. I wish I could say that it gets better, but I'm convinced that pregnant tummies encourage other people to ignore that filter in the brain that says, "Ya know, this is not a cool thing to say to another human being." Are you feeling better these days?
regaladathanks for sharing your birth story. What a cutie you have there!
Kay LURVE the Tigger theme idea. How cute! I hope the work load eases up for you soon!
Pave Tiredness is natural. Mine got better 2nd trimester and is now back with a vengeance. Try to rest when you can.
Diva Thanks for sharing your birth story! I am always impressed with Mommy Power in these situations! congratulations!

Superfoods -- Does Cherry Garcia count because it has fruit in it?

Sorry for the world's longest post. I finally had some time this morning and wanted to check in with y'all. i should be better about more regular postings (i.e. shorter!) this week. Wish me luck with my exam!

XO!

Just a quick drive by to say hi! CONGRATS to Diva and Sophie! I cant believe how close to the top of the list I am...eeeek!!

Qtiekiki: you look awesome!!

Gemma: cute belly...everyone has such cute ones here!

NF: I sometimes have the same fear. Not really of squishing, but just maybe making her uncomfortable. I'm down to 2 positions now: back with pillow under my right side and lying in my left side (which everyone seems to recommend). Well when on my back, the pillow always ends up on the floor (or I get a stiff back) and when I'm on my left side, I feel little bubble movements way on the left side of my belly (whch I'm leaning on) like the baby is feeling squished. Ack, who knew sleeping could be such a challenge!

Otherwise, things are good with me. I feel more kicks now--usually when laying flat. I think the baby must be pretty big now, b/c they're not the cutesy taps and gentle kicks anymore. It's like the entire baby is shifting and it reminds me of waterbed motions if that makes any sense! And there are some strong kicks or puches sometimes! It's in phases thoug..like a lot at once, and then quiet.

We've started looking at houses, daycare, finances (in more detail, we've been doing this all along) and boy is it overwhelming! I have a newfound appreciation for mom's with more than one (who also work) and/or have twins!!

Also getting ready for my shower..it'll be small. but is it wrong to wish I could have one more u/s to confirm it's a girl? With all the pink coming my way and everyone referring to the LO by her name, I can't help but wonder, what if? It's sillly I know!

Anyway, hope everyone had a great long weekend!!

Hello everyboy, Isabelle is sleeping so I have time for a quick review and a post. Thanks for all your comments!

Breastfeeding is getting a little better. She is clustering her feedings in the evening and overnight but I can tell she is eating. I''ve been able to put her to sleep three times after nursing her, it could be she is either content or exhausted from trying to extract milk from me, but either way if feels great to watch her drift off after I feed her.

Ephemery, sorry about your BHs. I had a very similar experience with BHs at week 28, started having them 2 minutes apart and got really freaked out so I ended up at L&D getting a shot of Terbutaline to get them under control. Turned out the contractions were activity-driven so I was put on bed rest indefinitely. My Ob was really conservative in her approach, so I stayed in bed until week 37, got ultrasounds every two weeks, and had a prescription of Terbutaline at hand for the days when the contractions were coming way too often.

At first I was so scared I would cry thinking I could not carry the pregnancy to term. But bed rest did help keep the BHs at bay. I did not start dilating until week 36 and delivered the little one at 38 1/2 weeks, healthy, safe and sound.

So hang in there, there are so many things that can be done to make sure your little one stays in the oven until it''s her time to come out. I know it''s stressful and the worry can sometimes drive you nuts so hang in there.

Time for another feeding! Gotta go.

Here I am! Been mostly lurking, but I am keeping up!

pave I'm glad you are feeling more confident about your pregnancy and you added your due date to the "preggos in waiting" list! Yippeee!

jen wowee that sounds painful! Is it more common with twins or can any preggo get it? Can you buy one of those scooters to get around?
2.gif
They look fun and you can add flags to make it seem cooler!

NF that is really cool you can feel the babies already! I guess with twice as many babies it is just that much easier to feel them doing their calisthenics! I noticed you asked about travelling to a conference in the mommies thread... I am in academia too and three of my close friends have babies so I thought I tell you one solutions you may or may not have throught of: you can buy hubby a ticket to come along to the conference and he could look after babies in the day while you go to talks etc., and then the family can be together at night. I like this option myself, since it will also help with your anxiety about leaving them. You hotel room may already be paid for, so the only extra cost is meals and the airplan ticket. I have to be honest, none of my friends in academia with babies felt even remotely reay to leave them for a few days when they were 3.5 months. Most felt ready around 10 months.

Gemma nice lookin' belly lady!

Jas: are you on bed rest right now? Here's hoping you can hold those boys in for another few weeks!

Ephemery boy that sounds scary. I am not a big worry wort, but in your shoes I might press the issue to get some answers.

As for me, I am 6 weeks 4 days preggo today and I think I jinxed myself by talking about morning sickness...
20.gif
Although I am not exactly nauseous and I am not puking, I feel like total crap unless I have a full stomach. I need to eat about every 2-3 hours MAX to keep from falling into a pit of low blood sugar and queesy overheated horror. This is a real challenge to not overeat, so I am trying to spread my calories out over the day. Last night a 5am I awoke and felt poopy and DH had to go get me a glass of milk!
6.gif
That helped and I went back to sleep, but this really does suck.

I should be grateful I guess that I am not up-chucking, and I do feel fine for about 2 hours starting about 15 minutes after I eat, but it does suck. I have to force myself to eat if I wait too long b/c my apetite is gone, but I know the only way to feel better is to put some food in there! I am finding that milk is my best friend since it had lots of protein, and I am digging beans and bread like there is no tomorrow.

I am getting my 30-60 min of excercise every day, so that helps counteract the eating (I hope!), but I am really retaining water like there is no tomorrow! Can''t wear my rings, and my weight is up about 2.5 lbs almost overnight. I think about 1 lb of that is in my boobs
2.gif
, I am fairly certain the rest is water gain hanging out in my lower stomach area making me feel really bloated and making my jeans feel too constricting. And my rings don''t fit
39.gif
Luckily my half-eternity RHR fits my left ring finger now, so I am not totall blingless, but that is not fun so early on! I think once summer winds down and I no longer wear dresses and skirts I am going to have to buy maternity pants sooner rather than later!

On other news, tonight we have our information session at our midwifery clinic, so that will be fun!

NF -- how fun to be feeling regular movement! Just wait ''til they start beating each other up....
2.gif
And no you won''t squish your babies, but you just reminded me how much i miss sleeping on my belly!

Snlee -- thanks
1.gif
It was nice to have a date night for a change!

Eph -- ok, that was scary -- i''m so sorry you had to go through that and ended up with no solid answers!
14.gif
I think you need to "ground" your l.o. like Jackie did!
2.gif

Indy -- no m/s? lucky girl! I don''t have anything i would consider a superfood, but i''m a big fan of watermelon and granola bars. I just don''t have much room to eat anything anymore, so it''s a bummer b/c i don''t enjoy it as much anymore. And yes, i''ve had my little panics here and there -- gotta let those go, though. I have to remind myself sometimes that our moms didn''t take nearly as many precautions as we do now and somehow we all made it here ok, ya know?

Jas -- i''m impressed that you didn''t get the constant BH''s. I find them annoying more than anything. Your Charlie always sounds like such a sweetie -- how cute that our men can get sick with worry (i mean, women have been doing it for years, but it''s different with guys...)I''ve noticed a pretty big shift in my DH as well (it''s a trend i hope continues)...

Gemma -- great belly shot! I can''t believe you gave up swimming -- it''s the only place my body feels "normal" and i don''t care how much "backne" (that cracked me up btw
3.gif
) we have, preggos should not be deprived of the water! I *AM* glad to hear you are enjoying this trimester so far though!

Jackie -- wow, i didn''t realize you are second on this list! Keep hanging in there -- glad you grounded the boys (they need to get used to it anyway!
2.gif
) I am in awe of your catch-up post -- i get exhausted sitting at the computer long enough for a short reply and here you are writing a book.
2.gif
I''m going to go into "mom" mode for a sec and *insist* you check infrequently from now on so we don''t panic,ok? Thanks for liking "Marina" btw... I like it a lot and have even grown into the idea that i will be calling her Marie. I guess it just took some getting used to...

Well, DH and I had a good date night, even though i''m sure some people were probably freaked out to see me coming into the restaurant or theater (everyone always looks at me like i''m gonna go into labor at any minute!) It''s funny b/c when i stand up, i have to take a minute to get used to the pain before i can move, so i''m hunched over during that time looking labor-ish
3.gif
OK, more importantly, DH and I settled on Baby B''s name yesterday and she is officially "Sophie"! So I''ve loved that name for a while but had a hard time dealing with the fact that it''s become popular (not like "sophia" has though)... but i still love the name despite it and DH actually likes the name, too, which is a small miracle. haha! The other names we were considering were kind of popular now too, actually. Back when i had the boys i didn''t like a lot of the girl names that were being used, and now i seem to like many of them... guess people just have better taste now
2.gif
(jk!!) Besides the name, we ordered a crib yesterday, so it was a productive weekend
9.gif

Hope everyone has a great day!
jen

Janine -- you''re doing a lot at once, girl! hope you enjoy your shower
1.gif

Regalada -- glad to hear that everything is going well at home with Isabelle!

Dreamer -- So sorry you are starting to go through thatfeeling-like-crap period. I didn''t throw up a lot, but i sometimes wished i could just to make that constantly-sick feeling go away. I hope you get past it quickly. As for the rings, I had to take mine off early-on, but then was able to wear them again a few weeks later, so it may happen like that for you!

jen

aww dreamer, i''m sorry you''re feeling the way you''re feeling...i know what it''s like.

i''ve only actually up-chucked three times in the past 5 wks, but it''s really the nauseous feeling that is the worst. good for you for keeping up with the exercise - i can barely walk up the stairs a few times a day without feeling exhausted!

I actually find that excercise helps with the nausea and makes me feel better... at the least, the deep breathing relaxes my stomach muscles which helps with the icky feeling. But I hear you on the exhaustion! I am getting at least 10 hours of sleep, but I am still too tired to work out very hard... going for 45 min walk with the dogs or doing 25 min on the eliptical and very light wieghts and stretching is all I am doing right now. But it is better than nothing!

DD, if it''s any comfort, I''m having a pretty similar situation. I''m 6wks 6days (going by the Day 20 ov date), and although I''m still not really nauseous, I''m decidedly queasier today than I''ve been, and I''m eating every 2-3 hours too.

Plus, I also bounced up on the scale about 3 lbs already.

Wow, that is good to hear that this is normal! I feel ridiculous eating so much. I normally eat three squares and two snacks, never eat after dinner, and now it is a totally different story.

And I''m glad to hear about your weight gain too
11.gif
I know you are slim, but I am on the voluptuous side and so I am not supposed to gain very much weight (25lbs max) so I was nervous about gaining 2-3lbs already. I have been watching my calories and I am fairly sure I am not eating more, just more spread out, and I am working out, but I was a little worried. But if you gained too, and I know you are watching your diet and excercising, then it must be fairly normal! I really think the weight is mostly water but it is really annoying. I have a little pooch now that makes my jeans uncomfortable to wear...the button digs in. Luckily it is summer and I never wear jeans right now, and my dress pants are all totally fine. I heard that you shouldn''t wear your pants anymore once they start making a mark on your stomach from the buttons pressing in, so I think my jeans are already ready to be retired.

Congrats to the new moms!!!
36.gif

Ephemery, that is nervewracking. Throwing some sticky and stay power dust your way. Try not to stress about it...I know easier said than done.

Wow, you gals are good if you know how many weeks AND days you are preggo. I never kept track of that stuff.

Gemma, great belly shot...you look great at 20 weeks!

Exercise with nausea totally helped me feel better...that is, until I got really into the thick of things and then I could barely get myself off the couch. Constant hangover feeling for weeks. Ugh.

For the newer preggos, enjoy this ride together! You''ve got so much to look forward to and each other''s babies to see..

And for the soon to be moms...I can''t wait to see your little ones. Hang in there these last few weeks!!

Hey T''Gal, I think the word you want is ''neurotic'' as in "you gals are neurotic!"

I have definitely been counting the days until I''m on the right side of the miscarriage odds. I think maybe I''m being paranoid because of the bleeding I had.

I have definitely been counting the days until I''m on the right side of the miscarriage odds. I think maybe I''m being paranoid because of the bleeding I had.

Jas, I hope your guys are obedient and stay grounded a little longer! Scary having DH away.
Girl, do whatever it takes to make yourself feel good about the whole thing. I didn''t know the days of my pregnancy, but you can bet that I was on a countdown until that second trimester (5 weeks to go, 4 weeks to go...2 weeks to go...woo hooo, TTot made it into the second tri!).

Miscarriage just hangs over a woman in her first trimester...it can be stressful. The second tri really is the honeymoon period (especially after the u/s and knowing that everything is looking good). Then the third tri you stress that the baby isn''t moving enough (you will develop all kinds of techniques to get your cub to move so that you can breathe that sigh of relief) and of course there''s stress hoping the baby makes it all the way to week 37. Oh yeah...and then you have to do the "baby head down" dance too.

It''s never ending.

hee hee I count the days because when you are *only* six weeks, every day sounds so much better! Like when you are 4 and a half years old. You never hear anyone talk about being 30 and a half! I think the days will become less interesting when I hit tri 2.

Pssssst! Did you gals here Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban had their baby this morning?

Sunday Rose Kidman Urban was 6lbs 11oz!

Quite a unique name huh?

These celebs are always unpredictable! "Honor Marie" for Jessica Alba''s daughter, "Harlow Winter" for Nicole Richie...etc!

Just thought I''d share

DD and Indy, I think the 6wks+ really is a good starting point for m/s symptoms because I''ve also started feeling less than spectacular. I can''t jump out of bed and go for a jog anymore because I feel pretty nauseated. More than 3 bites of yogurt and granola makes me want to crawl back into bed, so breakfast takes twice as long as it used to. My energy bounces back by noon, so I''ve shifted jogging/swimming/yoga to the afternoons and evenings instead.

I haven''t weighed myself since my last check-up (1 yr ago), so who knows whether I''ve gained any weight. I''m going to the doctor''s on Wednesday, so at least I''ll have a number to work with.

Good foods to eat - I'm eating a lot more cheese, wheat bread (I think it's keeping me regular

), yogurt, soy milk, avocados, fruit and veggies than I usually do.

eph, you are so lucky your DH loves to cook! I wish I had a chief of my own.

How are you feeling today? When is your OB appointment? I hope your OB gives you more of an explanation. Demand some answers! I makes me mad that the hospital didn't give you more info.

Gemma, you look great! What a cute belly! Isn't the 2nd trimester lovely? It's call the honeymoon trimester for a good reason.

I am sad I only have 3 weeks left in the 2nd trimester! Ahhh! It has flown by!

Indy, I am crossing my fingers for your thurs u/s appointment. Keep us posted! I have eaten some things I shouldn't have without knowing. I know it's hard, but I try not to worry about it since you can't do anything about it after! I just learn from it and don't eat it again.

jas, you crack me up girl! I love your posts! Keep us posted on how your appointment goes today. Don't you dare go missing on us!

It's too soon! The air quality has improved a great deal. You can actually see blue skies now! Another heat wave is coming so that's not so good for the fires and not so good from us pregnant ladies. I hate the heat!

janine, I am feeling the same movements your are! Not only am I feeling the gentle taps but also those powerful kicks and punches that startle you! I also can tell the different between kicks/punches and flips/turns. Those wave movements feel very weird. DH got to feel a few of them this weekend. I've also been trying to find a comfortable position to sleep in. I know we aren't supposed to sleep on our backs but often times I can't help it. I wake up on my back! I've tried the pillow under my back and it isn't so comfy. When I lay on my side, I use a bobby pillow under my belly and a regular pillow between my legs but like you, the pillows often end up on the floor! When is your shower? Enjoy it!

dreamer, I'm sorry you are feeling poopy and hope you feel better soon! I know how it's like to have to eat every 2-3 hours are you feel like you are starving and about to faint! I know it's hard but try not to worry about the weight! I've had some minor freak outs about my weight but I've learned to just let it be as long as I'm living a healthy lifestyle. And you are! Your body will put on as much weight as it needs to. I am sorry your rings don't fit so early on! I don't think I'll be able to wear my rings through my entire pregnancy and that makes me sad.

jen, congrats on naming Marina and Sophie! Great names.

qtiekiki, you are next on the list! How are you feeling? You and DH must be so excited!

Over the last few days I have been dealing with sciatic nerve pain. It hurts in my lower back and under my butt. When it's very bad I get painful spasms. Ouch! I had a bad cause of sciatica about 5 years ago (where I was on vicodin and crutches cause I could barely walk) so I am doing everything I can to not let it get worse! I CANNOT go through that again!

I'm fairly certain my work is throwing me a baby shower (maybe two - different groups). But I have a fear that no one in my family will throw me a shower! Silly, I know. But I only have about 3 months left and I haven't heard anything. They aren't the type to plan a surprise shower, so who knows.

LOL!

These celebrities come up with very unique names. I told my DH about how Sunday was born on Monday.

I wonder how they came up with that name.
