Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

You might want to check if you''re allowed to record it. We tried to record a video at our 8 week one with our cell phone and they wouldn''t let us

.

I think you can order playtex bras online, but apparently it''s blocked at work and my attempt has been logged. Ooops.

Hi ladies
35.gif

I''m anxiously waiting for Friday. I''m really bummed though because the office cannot record the session or 4/D
39.gif
. I''m going to ask my doc how she would feel about me getting an unscheduled u/s to get some 4D pics because I''d really love them for our scrapbook.

NYCBK-how are you feeling? How are the twins?
LL-Glad to see that you are hanging in there!
Sabine-I forget that you are a teacher! What grade do you teach? When are you due again?
Robbie-Those mat. pics sound wonderful and you are going to look so great! Will you share?
Pandora-I didn''t know you were naming her Daisy! That''s sooo cute I love it. That''s really weird about your barrister. I wonder what''s going on.
Mandarine-I''m probably not the one to talk since I called my mom and told her about my BFP while sitting on the toilet and staring at the stick (FI was sleeping, I could hear him snoring). I agree not to tell anyone that you wouldn''t want to tell in the event something happens.
China-
38.gif
to your bathing suit shopping! When did you get to 16 weeks? What is going on in here??
Blen-You are holding out for a surprise too right? I thought I remember reading somewhere that you weren''t finding out.
Claritek-Thanks for the info. I''m going to try that next time.
Courtney-I feel the same way about BFing. It''s like my private moment with the baby.

Off to a meeting. Story of my life.
20.gif
Yup, she''s going to be called Daisy Pandora
9.gif

It''s funny, but DH suddenly turned round the other day and said that he''d been thinking and that IF we decided to have another one down the road, well we had a boy name but we didn''t have another girl name and could we choose one now please (yes my husband is completely bonkers...)

Anyway, we threw some names around for about 10 minutes and finally came up with one that we both really, really liked. So... if we ever have another girl she will be Xanthe Claire (you pronounce Xanthe like Zan-th-eee, it''s Greek and means ''yellow'' which also happens to be my favourite colour
1.gif
)

On the barrister thing, lets just say that I work for a major political party and she gets a heck of a lot of work via our local MP who happens to be in the same Party and I think she was feeling that perhaps taking my case would not be such a great idea after all.

It''s a guess, but she was so strange about things that ''something'' has happened and I can''t think what else would explain things...

go get ''em tiger!

ETA: Does anyone else get ''numbness'' in their pelvis? Specifically, their hoo-ha? I''ve been noticing very intermittent lapses of numbness. It''s outside (lips) and sort of inside as well. I assume the baby is pressing some nerve...? Anyone else?
Yes - seemed like a lot of girls on FF were getting the same.

Can''t say that I will be sorry to get my body back to myself!

Does my little one have hiccups? I''m watching my tummy move up and down like it has a heartbeat!

melalu your house is so pretty! My house was built in 1916, so maybe I''m biased . . .
2.gif

mandarine, I haven''t told anyone that I believe would tell, but I already mentioned what a cluster * DH telling his brother was. I guess it is better safe than sorry. You''ve already managed not to tell them at the first moment, so what''s a few more weeks?

Speaking of telling people, today another teacher asked me, "So when are you going to get knocked up?" in front of my friend who is about 5 and a half months. Nice.

Speaking some more of work, I have not been suffering fools well. Some kid stole half of the laptop batteries I have in my room for students to switch out (while another teacher was in my room--I had placed them in my desk drawer for safe keeping but one of her kids saw me putting them in there), and then the computer guy told me that he couldn''t give me any more, didn''t know when more would come in, and didn''t know whom I should ask about this . . . which basically would make me unable to do my job because I sponsor a publication and the kids need to use their laptops every day and the battery life on those things is crap. Well, my head spun around and I went on a rampage and an hour later I had managed to collect one more battery than I had the day before despite the computer guy claiming there weren''t any extras. Can I blame this on my pregnancy?
1.gif

OK, off to work out before I lose steam . . .

Hey fiery- im ok still hangin in there..now freaked out about developing preeclampsia but otherwise just scheduling all my appt''s..tom is the fetal echo...praying it goes well!
Monday I have my mri to check on the bleeding and I start my non stress tests (1x a week)...im excited about starting 3rd tri on mon..can''t believe it. Babies are good..growing and kickin and being cute :)

I will try to do the 3/4d next week..docs think those are silly and for entertainment purposes..but hello that''s the point lol! I want a nice baby album and the pics are usually so cute ..and mine come with a package of dvd and all kinds of pics..it was $150

Mela- omg I love that pup pic...2fun!

Robbie- I haven''t demanded any u/s yet, they have always been offered. Two were standard- first one at 6 weeks to see hb, then 12 week scan. I got one at 10 weeks b/c I had the flu and a fever and the nurse wanted to be safe and make sure all was okay. This one I would be surprised if insurance covered, but they did offer it to me. My insurance is pretty good, but I am okay with paying for an extra u/s. It''s funny b/c I am so not the demanding type, and really was prepared to not have any u/s except for one or two. But they keep offering so! Though I am glad you brought this up, I really need to double-check what my insurance covers. I don''t mind paying for an additional u/s, but more than that might get pricey. I looked at it in the beginning, but was so overwhelmed I don''t think much registered. So have you had any u/s yet?? I thought you had b/c you mentioned seeing boy parts but weren''t sure, right?

Phoenix- Definitely blame it on preggo brain. Funnily enough, I was pretty sane my first trimester. Today though I slammed my door at DH and yelled at him for something totally silly. I never do that. And while I was having my little temper tantrum, it was like I was outside of myself and I knew I was being ridiculous, but couldn''t help it.

LL- Yeah, I felt "safe" at 12 weeks, but really let out my breath at 13 and 14 weeks. That''s so exciting that you are finding out so soon. Any intuitions on what you are having????

Okay, remind me on who''s about to find out. Me, Fiery, Sabine, and Lysser???? Anyone else? And Robbie is waiting. Maybe we should have a poll for us? Hmm, I don''t have any intuitions yet. Here are my blind guesses (but reserving the right to change).

*****************
Sabine- Girl
Fiery- Boy- but your fam all says girl huh??? Are you craving fruit or carbs?
Lysser- Boy

China-Carbs for sure! And the fruit that I do crave are the super sweet fruit like mango and strawberries

NYCBK-Really glad you are starting 3rd tri too. You tell your babies to keep baking.

ARGH!!! I just found out one of my good friends who is 36w 4d has been in the hospital since yesterday! She had had protein in her urine, and apparently at her appt. it had gotten worse, so they admitted her for observation. If it doesn''t get any worse or she doesn''t develop any other signs of preeclampsia (her bp is fine right now), they will induce in about a week, but she is worried they will have to induce sooner. Her little boy is about 5 lbs 5 oz. right now. She is trying to stay calm but I can only imagine how hard it is, especially since she is stuck in the hospital without a lot to do. I will definitely be going to visit tomorrow.

I''m also really annoyed with 2 of my friends who didn''t bother to tell me. They both work at the hospital (where all our dh''s are med. students, and we live right across the street from), so they have been stopping in to see her yesterday and today, and they didn''t even think to clue me in (she doesn''t have a laptop, so no computer for the mama to be). And tonight I only found out because another semi-friend called me to see if I had any ideas on what was going on with the bridal shower that was supposed to be at the mama to be''s house this weekend, and she was shocked to find out I hadn''t heard yet!

So if you wouldn''t mind, please send some sticky dust to my friend so that her boy can bake for another week!

Sabine- lots of dust for ur friend...I sympathize bc I myself am at risk for pre e ..but goodnees I would love to be 36wks with 5lb baby ...she has nothing to worry about!...im hopin for at least 4 lbs...but baby is so safe at this point to be delivered. I know it would be nice to go to full term but as long as everyone is safe its all good! ;) keep us posted.

Robbie- So have you had any u/s yet?? I thought you had b/c you mentioned seeing boy parts but weren''t sure, right?

I''ve had 2. One at 8 weeks to date and then the big one at 18 weeks. We only got the bill for the first one recently and it was covered at 80% (everything not done at the actual office is only covered at 80% for me, all office and hospital stuff is covered at 100%). I think the total cost was $100 or $200 for it, but it was really short, so I''m thinking the big u/s will be a lot more expensive and hence I''m slightly worried that we''ll be paying a lot if they decide not to cover it.

DD- Thank you so much for the breastfeeding info! I was telling DH last night how happy I am that his mom was so involved with La Leche League for so many years- I'd love to BF and there's nothing like having a coach in the family!

mela- Adorable stroller! We loved the Bugaboo, but I think we may be going with the UppaBaby Vista.

China, Fiery and Sabine- I can't wait to see who you're having! Promise you'll share with us soon after you share with, well, people you know IRL?
3.gif

Pandora- I hope this new lawyer kicks some serious @ss. Good luck to you!

lysser- Congratulations on making it to the second trimester! It's a great milestone to reach.

Robbie- Feel free to send some of your boobage my way. Can you send boobage next day air? Seriously, mine have grown maybe a half a cup size. My 32B bra is too tight now, but not in the cup area.
20.gif

21 weeks today! We move to our new house on Sunday, but I've wanted to move for weeks now. My nesting instinct is in high gear (I'm a naturally organized person, but it's as if nature slammed her foot on the gas) and I just want to nest, nest, nest. It's all I can think about. DH and I went to The Container Store last night and I didn't want to leave. Our current place is a wreck due to the boxes and the fact that we haven't had much time to clean, and I'm about to crawl out of my skin. Ahhhhhhh!

I'm sorry if I missed anyone- this thread moves so fast and I've got so much on my mind. I'm thinking about all of you, though.

Ebree, here''s 2 cup sizes heading your way! LOL. A friend of mine had about the same change you''ve had throughout her whole pregnancy and then jumped from a C to a DD when her milk came in. I guess I should just be glad it''s been gradual and not painful so far at least.

NYC- Hope your appt and the fetal echo goes well today. Thinking of you, let us know how it goes.

Sabine- Sending dust/thoughts/prayers for your friend. Boo to your other friends for not thinking to tell you. I know every baby is different, but a friend just had her baby like a month early at a little over 5 lbs and she (baby) is doing great. So hopefully all will be well.

Robbie- Yes, I just had to pay around $200 for a portion of the NT test- should have asked what is was for- the bloodwork, the scan or what, but I was running late. I will call to find out. Do you have to go elsewhere for your u/s?

Ebree- I hear you on the moving/nesting. DH and I are house-hunting and I am so impatient to find one and get in there and get everything done. We made an offer but their counter was a bit weird, so we are trying to figure it out. My DH keeps saying we could stay where we are and not to stress, but our place is TINY and I so want to nest and decorate. I know people do have babies in small places, but it would be less than ideal. So at least you find a house and are moving!!! Yay for you. Oh, and I am right there with you in the where-the-hell-are-my-preggo-boobs club. I am a 34B and have never minded, but thought for sure I would get to pretend to have some cleavage when I got preggo and big everywhere else. But nope, so far, nothing. The band is tight for me too (ribcage expanding I am assuming) and they are a bit fuller, but really, nada. Oh well. Not quite sure what I would do with them anyways.

LOL! You make a good point- I wouldn't know what to do with them either!

Q for my fellow nesters: Are you planning on painting baby's nursery? Are you renting or do you own? We're renters, and I'm going back and forth between painting and not painting. I've already picked a color and am leaning toward painting, but we've got to paint it back when we move. Blah.

Sabine, good luck to your friend. Keep in mind her baby could very well weigh more. It is just a guess. Also I was born at 37 weeks and am *mostly* normal

I was 5 lbs 14 oz.

We rent and we painted a fresh coat of the same color to freshen it up then added color with furniture, curtains, and wall hangings. I would only paint if you know you''ll be there for a few years. We won''t be so it seemed like more effort than it was worth.

China - My doctor''s office doesn''t have an ultrasound. It sucks since it means I have to get a Rx from the doctor and then make a separate appointment to go to the imaging center (right across the hall) to get one, but it''s nice because since all they do is imaging, they have really nice equipment. The pictures that we''ve gotten seem to be a lot clearer than some others that I''ve seen.

Ebree - we own and we''re painting. We never did anything with the nursery when we moved in since we didn''t know when we''d be having kids or what we''d want to do. Currently 2 walls are white and the other two have yucky pink wallpaper on them. Blegh. Wallpaper will definitely be coming down and we''re painting the room a sage that I haven''t picked out yet. Possibly the same color as our living room, but I''m not sure yet.

China, can I guess boy for you? I definitely think the boy parts can be seen sooner on an ultrasound, so that's where my guess comes from.
3.gif

Sabine, I think that you mentioned that your DH is an M4. Do you have match coming up soon? Good luck! My DH is taking his step IIs today.

Robbie, I would be VERY surprised if your 18-week ultrasound isn't covered. That one (aka the big anatomy scan) is by far the most important ultrasound when it comes to determining all sorts of birth defects/issues, and the earlier one, usually at 6-8 has recently become more standard for dating purposes and to eliminate the possibility of an ectopic. So really, neither are superfluous!
1.gif

Peony- That''s a good guess! That did cross my mind as well, since she was so positive that she "knew". She didn''t say "I think". Hmmmm.

Lysser- It''s easy for me to hold out since I originally wanted it to be a surprise. Plus, once we open it, it''s a done deal. I mean, I know it''s a done deal anyways, but once I open it, then either I don''t get a girl or I don''t get a boy, and I want both! I bet we open it this weekend though.

Ebree- I think I would paint, personally. Unless you knew you''d be there a short time. Moving out is a pain regadless, I guess the question is would repainting one room make that much difference?? That being said, I totally think you can keep white walls for a nursery (or anything neutral) and still make the room super-cute with color in other places.

I am BRAIN DEAD today. Tried to be good and got up early and took my dog for a run (ok, fine, a fast walk
2.gif
) through the park. Was so tired when I got home I had to take a nap before work. Still tired, but even worse I feel like I am in a total fog. Working is hard. Methinks we should get prenatal leave as well as maternity leave. It''s not like I am getting anything done anyways!

hi gals!

Sabine - dust to your friend, but at almost 36 weeks +, she''s good to go
2.gif

Ebree - I''d paint, but only if you''re going to stay there for a "reasonable" amount of time. i.e a year. Otherwise, I''d save the time and money and put it into something GREAT for the nursery that you can take to your next (permanent) home. Just a thought. I''m all for paint. It''s cheap and makes a huge impact.

Boobs: I went from a B to a D and stiiiiiiiiiiiil growing. Ay Corumba.

China - cannot WAIT for this weekend, for you....

Push present update
36.gif
. In August, we conceived "himher" in NYC. While I was there, I purchased a warm OMC. For my push present, I''m having it set in this:

So excited. The "conception" diamond finally meets it''s maker. It should arrive in a few weeks.

Drool! It''s beautiful!!!

Peony, I know it''s medically necessary, but it still makes me nervous! It seems like these medical places take forever to bill too. I hate not knowing until months later. We only recently received the bill from Quest for the blood work I had done when I miscarried. And they hadn''t even sent it to our insurance so I had to send it back to them with the insurance info. Blegh.

Thanks, ladies! This is supposed to be our last stop before we buy, so it could be anywhere from two to four years (maximum, hopefully). I think we''ll go ahead and do it.

Hello!!!

EBree, I also vote Paint!!

Sabine sorry to hear about your friend but sounds like she''s in good hands!!...will keep her in my thoughts!

Mela that setting is so dreamy!!!!!!!!
30.gif
I love it!. I started telling DH *everyone* gets a present...not sure he''s on that boat yet, but I''ll keep reminding him
31.gif

****

So much for trying to hold it in. After getting the ok from DH if I seriously couldn''t control myself, I told my sister when I was at her house yesterday. It was so exciting. I swear it made it feel more real. She cried, we hugged it was so nice to actually say it out loud

Quick question. I have some minor decay my dentist found (before being KU)...it''s nothing major and we decided to wait because at the time my TMJ (jaw disorder) was really bad and it hurt too much to keep my mouth open. I''m going for a second opinion to another dentist to understand what needs to be done and if it can wait, etc. The internet has articles going both ways on this and my Dr said it was totally fine. I''m starting to think my Dr is pretty relaxed with EVERYTHING and while I don''t want to become an obsessed mess I would rather be on the cautious side. Any thoughts?

M~

Mandarine - Last visit they found a touch of tooth decay on one molar. Since I was already KU, we agreed to ''deal'' with it after the birth. I think it will be ok. I''d go with whatever the dentist says. They won''t lead you astray - espesh because they''ll have to deal with the outcome of their decision, right? If they''re cool waiting, I''d wait.
2.gif

Sabine, hope your friend is doing ok. I was born at 36 weeks too (5 lbs. 12 oz.) and as far as I know am none the worse for it.

Robbie, I hope the insurance isn''t annoying about the U/S. In this economy you don''t need the extra expense.

Ebree, good luck with the move and have fun nesting!

Chinacat, sorry about the weird counteroffer! Sometimes people are so silly. How tiny is tiny (home size, not boobs
2.gif
)? Although I''m with ya on the boobs too. Mine have definitely gotten fuller, so I asked my friend if they looked bigger, and she said, "Honestly, no, I wouldn''t call them big. But your shirt looks tighter." I guess I shouldn''t have asked somebody with relatively huge breasts to evaluate my 32As.
1.gif

Well, the morning sickness set in in the last 24 hours. I seem to be following some kind of textbook for my symptoms, which is reassuring I guess. So far it''s just a general nausea that makes me averse to eating, although suddenly I''ll feel ok and eat a lot and then feel queasy after. Hopefully with my stomach of steal (have not thrown up involuntarily as an adult; once I had to induce vomiting because I had def. been food-poisoned) I will not actually get sick.
