Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Alectrona was the Greek goddess of the sun

ooh. that's pretty! I had Celeste on my list originally but took it off. Is Celeste and Selene anything the same?
33.gif

ETA: I also had on Simone, but took it off. I still LOVE LOVE LOVE Simone but not with Luna.

If you say Luna Simone with a slight different emphasis, it becomes "Lunacy Moan". Not cool.

Hmmm, I am thinking...

hee heee heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I bet that will go over the same as Luna Soleil did.
40.gif
What else. I like the train you''re on!

Celeste is heavenly, divine. You don''t have to tell DH what they all mean, do you?
31.gif

nope. suuuuure don''t!

Celeste is a "normal" name, right? Like, Dr. Celeste Cargo.
In case little Luna turns out not to be an artist...and wants a more ''professional'' name.

34.gif

I love the way Luna Selene sounds. It rolls off the tongue beautifully.

cdt, I really like Warren Thomas.

ETA: Luna Celeste is also beautiful, but it's a bit more obviously themed, with Celest(e) being the first part of celestial. If you don't mind that, it's fine- Celeste is a totally normal name.

Does Luna Selene, when smashed together quickly, sound at all like, "Lunacy"?

I worry about Luna getting "Looney Toones" and "Lunacy" or "Lunatic". So I have to avoid anything that a kid can skew to those things.

ETA: I was all set to name her either "Luna Lavender" or "Luna Soleil" until everyone and their mother convinced me to choose a more 'normal' middle name.
11.gif
Clearly, I'm okay with 'hokey' names. lol!

ETA2: I just emailed DH "Luna Celeste" and this was his response, "I know where you're going... but maybe you should lay off the patchouli a little bit."

LOL! I love Luna- nothing hokey about it to me. And I don't think the two smashed sound like lunacy because of the "lene" ending. It sounds so charming and French.

As for Romeo, Lysser made a good point about possibly using R. Christian Cargo professionally if he'd like. Romeo Christian has a great sound to it- what does your husband think?

Hi guys! I''ve been so busy lately haven''t had a chance to post much!!
35.gif

I''m feeling ok. I''m really tired...I swear I could fall sleep on my keyboard!. No m/s though...so that''s good (6w5d now), but I guess it can still strike!. I am very bloated and my twins --these kind
7.gif
*)(*)-- have started to grow! (I''m not complaining since I don''t have anything in that compartment!). I think my pants are already a little tight
6.gif

I can''t wait for next Monday''s u/s. I have had horrible anxiety regarding the next u/s. After doing research on how common vanishing twin syndrome is, I can''t help but freak out a bit...
15.gif
. It comes and goes....and I honestly try so hard to keep positive. Today wasn''t a great day, so I''m hoping tomorrow will be a better one!....

Ok, enough about me...

Welcome Amber and November!!!!
36.gif

nyc Love the new avatar! So cute!
9.gif

Mela I love your names!!!...I like Robbie''s suggestion on Selene!.

I have no idea what you''re going for, but I''m looking at my list and thought some of these options sound pretty: Luna Rose, Luna Mia (My moon
3.gif
) or maybe Luna Matilda. For a boy, Romeo Elias or maybe Romeo Santiago...or Romeo Adrian?

Again, I have no idea what you have veto''ed in the past so feel free to tell me those are all horrible

Hi guys! Im not expecting(yet) but my best friend is
36.gif
she doesnt belong to this forum, so Im posting a question on her behalf.. Has anyone experienced lower abdomen bruising as well as upper leg bruising? She has been to the doc and he told her she is not anemic. She is approx. 3 months along, I would appreciate any knowledge you ladies have.. and CONGRATS to all of you!!!!

Ebree - DH loves Romeo Christian. That''s his pick. I''m the ''Phoenix''
11.gif

Mandy - ahhhhhhhh the twins and "the twins"! lol. Hang in there. Stay positive and try to visualize both beans growing inside you. Don''t focus on the scary parts. Try to ''will'' only good things through the power of your mind.
2.gif

I LOVE Romeo Elias (because my first name is Elisa, so it''s very similar), but DH veto''d. What else is new.
20.gif

I LOVE Luna Mia. I''ll suggest it to DH.
11.gif

Thanks for that one!!

gosh scts. I've never heard of that before?! Not sure...Congrats to your friend though! Very exciting. She sounds like a peach! lol. I crack me up. I couldn't resist. Sorry.
13.gif
I do hope it's nothing serious.

Maybe someone else can chime in, seeing as I am no help to you...

11.gif

Has Phoenix Christian been vetoed? He could have the nickname "Nick."

Thanks Mela! As I read your note I looked out the window and tried to visualize the little beans growing in there, and two little birds playing distracted me..but since I''m latin and superstitious, I thought that was a "sign"
2.gif

I love Elias probably as a kid I had a big crush on one of my friend''s older bother...and his name was Jorge Elias
30.gif
...and he was a good looking boy (we were too young for me to say he was a hottie...haha). I love Mia as a middle name!

My DH doesn''t like anything on my list...lol. The only ones he hasn''t really taken off are Gabriella (we can call her Ella or Gaby) and Marcos. There are so many other Spanish names I love though, but he grew up in the States with a very Spanish name and says he doesn''t want his kids to have complicated names that can''t be shorten...hehe.

Welcome to the thread November and Amber! I'm sorry I didn't say anything before- I'm so out of it today. I recently took a nap, so I'm still a little nap-hazy.

Mandarine, it's a great sign you saw two heartbeats. I know it's hard not to stress (believe me) but the best thing you can do is to think positively, like mela said. Think two, healthy, growing beans!
1.gif

scts- I haven't heard of it either. I googled "bruising in pregnancy" and it seems the few links I clicked on advised telling a doctor, which your friend did. If he isn't worried, that's a good sign.

China- I forgot- do you have a name picked out? Or a list? You could be a contestant on the "Name Game" too, if you need help!
31.gif

**two happy growing little beans****two happy growing little beans****two happy growing little beans****two happy growing little beans****two happy growing little beans**

Got it

Thank you Ebree!!
1.gif

Of course I want to play, and then all of a sudden I was expected to get work done.
29.gif
Seriously, billable hours suck.
14.gif

Ok quickly then:

Mela- I
30.gif
Luna Mia. "My moon"- oh how cute!!!! And I was wondering the same as Ebree, is Phoenix Christian out?

Mandarine- Don''t know if it makes you feel better, but I am pretty sure we ALL were super stressed the first 12 weeks that something would go wrong, even after seeing the hearbeat, twins or no twins. It''s unfortunately just part of the journey. But it made me feel better to know that everyone was as stressed as I was. I am not a worrier by nature, so it really threw me for a loop. Just relax and remember how crazy perfect all the timing and everything had to be to get KU in the first place, and with twins no less!!! Just take a deep breath and let it be. The way I got through it was just one week at a time. I didn''t think or plan ahead too far, just read my week in my book and focused on what was growing that week. It helped. Great names, btw. I am opposite of your DH, I totally love Spanish names but my DH''s last name is German. Although he is 1/8 Mexican, which cracks me up.

Ebree- I do want to play! But I don''t have a narrowed down list yet and the long long long one is at home. I will join in with my own list soon enough. What were your other choices before you picked Henry? I think I remember liking all your names, but I didn''t know I was having a boy at the time.

Our others were Theodore, Edward, and Oliver. I suggested Theodore Edward to DH a while ago, and he said, "Ted Ed?" He had a good point.
9.gif

Ebree- I knew we were on the same wavelength! Theodore and Oliver are on our list. Theodore is actually a family name, but DH seems lukewarm so far. His fave is Oliver. He suggested Henry the other night and I said, but that''s Ebree''s name! He was like are you actually telling me we can''t use the name because someone you don''t know on an internet forum is using it? LOL. Good point. I just don''t think it''s very "us" for some reason, though I love the name.

Mela The sling is called a Baby Buddha and it is GREAT!! Here is the website: http://www.babybuddha.ca/ Best of all, it is made in Canada by a mom-owned company. I got the bamboo and love it
30.gif
I carry Hunter in it all the time around the house and it puts him right to sleep. You can also wear it about 6 different ways as your kid gets older. A must-have for sure.

Ebree - all of those names are so nice, regardless of their combo's together ;)

Mandy - **two happy growing little beans** **two happy growing little beans** **two happy growing little beans** I'm doing it with you
2.gif
Gabriella is a beautiful name, and I like the short-forms too. Good one! ETA: I too believe in signs

THANK YOU for letting me monopolize the thread for a minute there. I really value all of your opinions, so letting me talk it through here is really helpful.
Phoenix Christian is not a consideration because our first names "must" be of latin origin. Both of us are Euro's and we want our families to be able to pronounce the name
20.gif
. Christian Phoenix could be a contender though...since Christian is prounouncable in Italian.

Hi ladies - I am going to tentatively join this thread. In case you don''t frequent the TTC thread, I am one of the newly preggos from the recent BFP streak. I am 4w 2ds. I just got back my first beta at 391 and will go back tomorrow to see if it doubles. I was on my first cycle of Clomid and last Monday got a progesterone level that was very low (3.9) that had be thinking I was out for the month, but was surprised by a BFP on Friday. They retested my progesterone yesterday and it was up to 21, so that is a relief. I will probably just lurk a lot until we hear a heartbeat, but I am really hopeful and looking forward to joining this thread with all you wonderful ladies.
That is wonderful news, November!!!!

Ohh Thanks for responding DD. I THOUGHT I recongnized the Budhha! I love it too...but it's more expensive than it's "competitor" the 'Blue Celery' which is also Canadian. I don't know why the difference in price??

I favour the Bamboo fabric of the Buddha, but am leaning towards the Blue Celery because of the price point.

Where did you buy yours? There is only one store in TO that sells them. *eye roll* and that one store sells them for $22 more than the online price! WTF?

Oliver's a great name! And I understand completely about liking a name that doesn't quite fit. There are several I love (and he liked) that just weren't 'us.'

dreamer- Nice sling! Is it sort of like the Moby? I registered for a Hotsling, but if he likes being worn, I'm going to try several different kinds. I REALLY hope he likes being worn.

mela- Liking Christian Phoenix. Do you like it more than Romeo Christian? Less?

It's funny; I have no desire to think about baby names until I know if it's a boy or a girl. DH and I have talked about some names -- Clare (because I had a dream we had a daughter named Clare a few years back and we both said, "Ooooh, that's pretty!" and because I just lost a friend to cancer whose middle name was Clare) and Jack (my grandpa's nickname), but I think DH is more sold on Clare than Jack. Me too actually. Our last name starts with L, and every name that either starts with L or ends with an L sound like Emily or Lily is out. The funny thing is that we haven't talked about it now that we're actually pregnant. I'm the kind of person where one day I will wake up unable to rest until we pick a name and we'll pick one that day.

I told my dept. chair that I was pregnant today. I wasn't planning to, but she asked me if I would be trained to teach AP as a backup since there might be more sections next year and the current teacher is pregnant and might not return. So I had to say, um, me too! I am amenable to the training but want to make sure they're not counting on me as their only backup. There was a time when teaching AP would have been the most important thing to me but right now it's not (I teach honors in the level before they get to AP so it's not like I'm just teaching remedial classes). Baby comes first, and I'm not sure the year I give birth and deal with maternity leave is the year to take on a new course. Plus if we can afford it, I'll stay home. (Come on economy . . . rebound!)

I just ate a whole bunch of cheese. Yum. Probably won't help the constipation but cravings are sacred.

mela- Liking Christian Phoenix. Do you like it more than Romeo Christian? Less?
Romeo is my #1 boys name, so I like it BEST...but Christian Phoenix is a strong contender in the event that baby is born looking, er, not Romeo-esque.

Top contenders:

Romeo Christian
Romeo Phoenix
Christian Phoenix
Wolfgang (Wolfie) Phoenix (after our 'adopted' Grandfather/next-door-neighbor)

Luna Valentina
Luna Mia
30.gif

Luna Selene
Luna Lavender
11.gif

Luna Nova (yet to be pitched to DH)
Luna Bianca (family name; but hated by my Mom)
15.gif

...I feel like there are still some other undiscovered gems
34.gif

ETA: thank again for letting me talk this through aloud. Ignoring me is welcome; and understandable.

Thanks everybody for making me realize that the pains I''m feeling are probably normal. It seems like everyone''s are a little different. Mine feels like a sharp pain in my uterus, mostly on the right side. I had some cramping early on, but hadn''t felt anything for weeks. I guess I was just concerned when they popped back up. I don''t know why, sicne it''s not like the baby stops growing!

This thread really moves! I only get a chance to get on once a day, and I have a couple of pages to catch up on. Just real quickly, I wanted to say welcome to November and Amber. Congrats to both of you.

And mela, I love your names. Of the boys, my favorite is Romeo Christian, I think. For a girl, Luna Selene. My DH and I have such differeing opinions on names, I doubt we''ll ever be able to pick one.

Okay, I am starting to look at bedding collections already, since I want to get something neutral whether we''re having a boy or a girl. I HATE all the super girly pink/purple stuff. I think it''s great for everybody else, but I just don''t think I could look at it every day. This is one of the ones I like, but I wonder if it is too blue for a girl.
Bubbles Bedding

Mela What about Chiara? Means "clear" in Italian, and I know you love your Italian names!

Mela - I really like Luna Mia! Really really like it! Really nice flow to it!

CDT - I have tried it all. Meditation, talk therapy...and the anxiety just wouldn''t stop. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

November - Welcome!

CC - Yup, I''m here! The anxiety is a general anxiety and completely irrational. You''d think that having the CVS test results come back good would help - and they did - for a couple days...but then it came back. Worrying about COMPLETELY irrational things. I couldn''t sleep one night because I couldn''t stop worrying if we''d be able to afford stuff for the kid''s prom (which we could totally afford RIGHT NOW). Completely insane. And I''d talk myself down, only to wake up again, in a state of UTTER panic about it. I had about four days where I couldn''t really eat at all - I was just so anxious. So yeah. And my docs were totally comfortable with it - so I''m trying to make myself comfortable with it too!

And we''ll be doing the 20 week scan and the AFP test. The CVS test only tests for genetic and chromosomal stuffs - not neural tube problems or other issues. So although I''m not super worried about it, we''ll do that too!
