Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Mrs., Sage is so beautiful! You must be so elated to have welcomed her to the world! Yay!

Today is a good day. I haven''t taken my Zofran yet; I usually take it before I get out of bed because that''s when M/S is the worst, but last night I grabbed the wrong bottle when I was heading upstairs. When I got downstairs this morning I decided to wait until I feel icky to take it. So far, so good.

I worked out three times this week. I''m still not getting in cardio like I would like, but I have worked back up to my regular weights with my Firm workouts (3, 5, and 8 lbs. so we''re not talking anything obscene). I feel strong, like my usual self.

I am very much looking forward to my U/S on Monday. There''s a little nagging concern that feeling too normal is bad, although the same thing happened to my sister who is 3.5 weeks ahead of me, and when she told me she was worried about not feeling her symptoms, I was like, oh please, I''d give anything not to feel them and not complain! It''s easy to judge when it''s not you. She did tell me that she had researched that M/S peaks at week 8 to 9, and I am into week 9, so I have to go with that.

Mrs, congrats. Sage is soooo precious. I just love her name. I am so glad all went well in the hospital. Glad you ahd Sage are doing well!!

Blen, You''re next!! Loved your pic.

Ebree, cute belly shot!!!

Mrs. Sage is gorgeous, we want more pictures! My friend had the same issue with her daughter and BFing... it went away after about 3-4 weeks. In my experience, 3 to 4 weeks is when BFing becomes easy.. well, physically, it is never easy to feed every 2-3 hours around the clock. Be sure to see as many lactation specialists as you can if the pain goes on, every one has a different way of helping fix the latch and someone may be able to help!

Sabine- funny u mention those cramps ..I was talkin with my vet''s assistant and she told me she used to get them all the time while she was pg...what was her remedy??....stickin her foot in the toilet! Yeh I was just as shocked but to alleviate the pain u have to put leg into smthg cold..and no time for the tub..she like when ur in so much pain trust me ud stick ur head in toilet LOL...I''ve had them few times in general but not during pg (thank goodness) bc I feel ur pain those things are Killah!...when I had them id immediatley put my foot straight out on the cold floor...but toilet may work betta ;)

Awww, Sage is so precious! Congrats Mrs!!

The feeling of no M/S did not last long. I told DH, "Never fear; the hormones are here!"

Sabine-

I get those too and they're so annoying. Along with the stretching and the cal/mag, try this trick and see if it works- it does for me every time. When you feel your leg start to cramp, point your toes out as far away from you as you can (like a ballerina), and then point them back toward your head (so they're pointing up, toward the ceiling). My mom taught me this trick a long time ago and now I've learned to do it in my sleep.

Thoughts on the name Priscilla?

Queen of the Desert.

Presley.

CDT, I think your baby's showing more now, too. You're a gorgeous mother-to-be!!!!

****
Blen,

Wow. You're going to be a mommy. SOON. I'm so excited to meet George or Virginia or Augusta or whatever name you choose for your little one. You look awesome! And I love your house! I don't think I've ever seen a blue kitchen, and yours looks so pretty.

****
Mela,

You're so pretty with your baby!

****
Courtney,

I always love your shirts in your pictures. I'm going to be one of those pregnant women who always wears the long flowing shirts, but I just *love* the snug ones that you wear that show off the baby!

****
Robbie,

I'd forgotten the "bloat" picture. Thanks for bringing it back! Your face in it is priceless!!

Oh yeah, ever since you were "juno" for Halloween, I've been wanting to see that movie. Last night we finally rented it. And now I know that Amber's qoute at the end of her posts is from a song that's in that movie. I always wondered where it came from.... (Random side note...)

****
Peony,

Your "baseline" picture is too sweet!!

I told Paul that I want to do that and also have a piece of butcher paper where he traces my belly and writes the date, so we can have "documentation" of the growth. Haha. Not sure how I'll feel about that once I'm BIG, but eh, I think it could be fun.

****
Ebree,

Your baby's getting to be a big boy! Yay!!

****
Mrs.,

Your daughter is absolutely gorgeous! And Sage is a gorgeous name to match! Congratulations, I'm glad the delivery went well and I hope that breastfeeding keeps going well. Enjoy motherhood!!!

Wow Mrs, Congrats! She is beautiful and so alert in this picture!

No. But seriously.

MRS - Sage is a spectacularly attractive newborn! Typically they are all squishy and mushed up. She's a looker already!!

ETA: Fiery. I want to participate in your name-game; since I always like hearing other peoples opinions on mine. RE: Priscilla. I guess it's personal preference, but I don't like the short form of the name - Prissy, or Percy. Thats just me. Sometimes names are killed (for me) because of their short forms. If you're okay with them, they I say go for it! To be completely honest though, my first thoughts on the name were the same as Neat's: Queen of the jungle, and Presley.

It all comes down to what you love.

We're going with names that have "negative" feedback / associations to some of our friend and family, but we don't care because we really love the names.

Eh bad 3d experience...babies were totally sleeping with hands over face and mostly facing back...we got somewhat of a profile (just an ear really). She did say boy has hair and girl not so much. She also commented that they look meaty :) lol...and fluid was good. So got some pics of stuff and basically wasted $150 for nada! O well they just being bratty already.

Just realized that I didn''t comment on this either - I was distracted by that full head of hair! I have the same associations, but they''re not strong enough to rule the name out for me. My personal feeling is that if there''s one or two people who usually come to mind if you say a name, it''s usually not that big a deal - people will see your kid with that name and then associate it with your kid. But if that association is really strong and bad (like little Adolf Hitler Campbell who made it into the news recently) or something that would almost certainly teasing (like my beloved Mary Jane) then that should be out.

The lack of nicknames that I like would be a bit of a turnoff, but at the same time - it''s just three syllables. It''s not like you NEED a nickname.

I''m not sure if I''m any help at all on this one!

I''m starting to read things into EVERYTHING right now, and I''m afraid that I''m going to just drive myself batty in the upcoming weeks. TMI example - my body is, um, clearing itself out right now. I''ve heard that this is a sign of early labor. But maybe I just ate something that was a bit off? But then again, DH and I have eaten essentially the same things this weekend, and his digestive system is doing fine.

tee hee I did the SAME thing for the last two weeks! Yup, clearing out happened in those two weeks. Lots of CF too, do you have that? You''ll know you are getting really close when you start having mild AFF-like cramps on and off too...

Yes, lots of CF too! Not that I''m looking forward to 2 weeks of my body trying to clear itself out like this, but I''m glad to hear that it doesn''t mean that I''m going into labor in the next few days. I mean, we''re probably as ready as we''ll ever be, but it just seems so soon! Two weeks sounds like a good time to me. I''ll keep an eye out for AFF-like cramps now, too.

Mrs, Sage is adorable!

Fiery, Priscilla isn''t really my style, but I wouldn''t really think anything of it to hear that one of my friends named their kid that.

Blen, it''s so exciting how close you are!

This was an exhausting weekend with lots of baby shopping. Yesterday we bought a crib organizer and valences. We put up the valences (well, we had to order a 3rd because one window is too big for just one) and DH tried to put up the closet organizer, but it was too big for our closet. He said he thought I realized that and would be ok with an orientation different than what was shown on the box. My spatial relations skills are pretty sub-par and I was not ok with it. So not ok with it that I burst into uncontrollable sobs that our closet would not look like the picture on the box. This pregnancy has really made me love DH even more. He never gets upset when my hormones take over. He stayed totally calm, got me to calm down, took down what he''d spent about an hour putting together and put it back in the box without complaining. Man, is he going to be good with this baby. Luckily I found this at Walmart.com: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5508741 and we already have one of these in white: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4888331 so it will actually save us a ton of money over the closet organizer that we returned and it will allow me to do the configuration that I originally wanted.

Today we returned the original closet organizer and went to Bed Bath and Beyond to have multiple 20% off coupons applied to our valence purchase from yesterday (I never remember to bring them with me, but they''re great about crediting you after the fact if you bring the coupon and receipt back). While at BBB, my mom called and said that she was heading to BRU to buy our crib mattress and asked if we wanted to meet her there. We did, got the last of the kind of mattress we wanted that they had in stock and my sister bought our monitor (graco imonitor) and the fisher price ocean wonders soothe and glow seahorse as a shower gift. When we went to check out they mentioned having a 45 day return period on all electronics. Uh, my shower isn''t for about 45 days and I wasn''t planning on taking things out of the box right after the shower. They gave us a really hard time til I threatened to cancel my entire registry with them and then they changed their story to "oh you can exchange it beyond 45 days if it''s on your registry." Yeah, that''s all we would''ve wanted to do anyway. Thanks for arguing with us for 15 minutes before telling us this.
20.gif

We got home and I searched Craigslist for gliders and found one that looks almost exactly like the one we registered for! I contacted the seller and he told me we could come look at it tonight if we wanted, but he''d had a few inquiries already. So back out we went, called my mom to meet us there since there''s no way we could fit a glider in my or DH''s car. We got there and the padding is too thin and was making my tailbone uncomfortable.

I''m exhausted. At least it''s from mostly productive things. It seems like whenever I get busy/productive my good eating habits go out the window though. DH asked me to make muffins yesterday and I think I''ve eaten at least 6 since then. What do you mean a steady diet of muffins isn''t nutritionally balanced? Ooops.

I could probably figure this out if I didn''t have pregnacy brain, but what''s CF and AFF??

Robbie - sounds like you got a ton done, and your DH is being a good sport about everything! What a pain with BRU.

Courtney - think back to TTC days.
