Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Oh Pandora, I have my fingers crossed that a bed opens up soon. I''m so sorry that you have had to deal with such a nightmare so far. I hope Daisy can hold on ''til there is a bed available, and that it happens very quickly!

Pandora - Hang in there!! I hope a bed opens up soon!!!

Pandora I found visualization really helpful for coping with the pain... I would imagine walking through a forest. It actually worked best for me when my mom talked me through it... you know, "You are walking on a trail, you can feel the crunch of the pines under your feet and you can hear the wind rustling the banches..." etc. Really helped take me away from the pain!

Hope a bed becomes available soon. Hang in there Pandora!

I can''t believe this pandora! Im so upset for u but I know u are sooo strong and u can do it!!

Thinking of you and Daisy, Pandora....Hope everything is okay and you are FINALLY in a room, feeling great because they gave you an epidural.

pandora - i hope that you''ve been in a room for hours at this point and are already holding your little daisy. thinking of you.

pandora-i hope you are holding you sweet little Daisy and that you are doing well. thinking of you!!!

Yes, we are thinking of you Pandora. I am praying all went well and that you are holding your precious Daisy in your arms right now!!! HUGS!!!

pandora~Thinking of you!

pandora hope you are doing well and holding your baby girl!!

Oh Pandora I hope all is well and you are holding little Daisy right now!

Pandora: I checked in expecting to hear about Daisy''s arrival and hoping to see pictures... certainly not to read about you trying to fend off an emergency room delivery with no epi!

Big hugs Pandora.
Hope you are holding Daisy now.

Ohhh...Pandora, I'm hoping that after all that stress, you got your bed and your pain meds and got through it all like a champ! Can't wait to meet Daisy!

Mela, you still around?

Pandora- oh my goodness...what an ordeal! I am so sorry you had to go through all that! I sincerely hope you are resting comfortably in a BED with your beautiful Daisy in your arms now!!!!!

Mela- Yooooohoooooooo, how aaaaaarrrrrreeeee yyyyyyoooouuuuu????? Hope things are getting rolling for you and little Romeo (or Luna)!

As for me, I guess it's my job to bust through all old wives' tales about how to tell the gender of the baby...that's right...it's a GIRL! Or at least the tech said she's 90% sure
33.gif
. Whhhhaaaat? I was hoping for a definite answer! But maybe they just have to say that for the small chance that they might be wrong. Anyhooo, so no morning sickness whatsoever, carrying all in the belly and barely showing at 19 weeks, cravings for salty/protein (I'm a vegetarian that was tempted by the bebe to give chicken another shot, and OH could I go for an Arby's roast beef sandwich but won't do it yet, and EBree- you KILL me with the hamburger and pickles talk! Sounds SOOOOOOO gooooood!!!!!), can't get enough avocado, sweets that I usually LOVE aren't quite as yummy, DTD the day of O, let's see what else??? These all usually point to boy, right? Not to mention that I just FELT like I had a boy in there. So I won't lie, I was shocked. We did decide to do the envelope (thanks China). My mom was at our house, so DH and I left the appt and drove out to the lake (got engaged & married there) and he opened the envelope and read it to me. I seriously thought he was teasing until I made him show me the card. I was definitely glad to have that private moment between DH and I- side note, he was thrilled as he was hoping for a "daddy's little girl". Then we went back and told my mom. She decided I needed some retail therapy to help wrap my head around the news, so off we went to load up on some sweet little PINK things for the baby's closet
12.gif
! That was fun and made it seem much more real. By the time I went to bed, I was so worried that baby girl might have been able to sense that I was shocked and I was SO upset with myself for fear that she would feel unwanted (hello, preggo hormones). What a roller coaster of a day! We are both really excited and talking about names seems a lot more relevant now, if that makes any sense? I finally got DH to realize that YES, we DO have about 20 weeks left, but we need to get on it since we can't agree on ANYTHING! So I guess to follow Mandarine's double-blue shocker, my votes were way heavy towards boy and we have a girl! Maybe we should listen to the DH's...I know her's guessed right and so did mine! I can't wait to see what Mela has in there!!!!

Wow! Natalina---was not expecting you to come in and say it was a girl!

Now you have me second guessing my own guess for my own little one. I completely feel like it''s a girl and all signs point to a girl.....

Thinking of Pandora this morning

OMG Natalina - A GIRL!!!!!!!!!! That is so crazy and SO great! (naturally I''m jealous). It''s so funny when your own instincts are wrong isn''t it?! Well, enjoy the "honeymoon trimester", getting used to your little girl growing inside you. It''s so special (no matter what the sex) and I love that you guys did the envelope in your special spot moment. I bet that will go down as one of your ''most memorable life moments''

Absolutely nothing to report here.

I know I''m not at my due date yet, but I was so sure that the baby would be here by now.

Pandora, that is horrible! I hated waiting for a bed to become available and I was only scheduled for an induction! I can''t imagine actually going through labor and having to wait....and with no meds! I just don''t get that. I hope you finally got a bed and meds and that Daisy is here safe and soundly.

Mela, hang in there. I felt JUST like you did at 39 weeks. Everyone thought I''d be early, but nope!

Pandora, sorry to hear that things weren''t going as planned. I hope you''ve got Daisy in your arms by now!

Natalina, congrats on joining team pink!

Mela, don''t be sad! Luna could still come before your due date!

Yesterday I had my maternity pics done and today is my shower!!! My friend who''s in charge of the shower surprised me with a mani/pedi yesterday before my photos as a gift from her and the rest of the hostesses! It was awesome. My friend who did the pictures (she did our wedding as well) said she hopes to have them up by the end of this coming week! I can''t wait to see them. The ones I saw on her camera looked awesome.

Last night SIL said we can have her glider/ottoman so we can check that off the list, though I think I might want to recover the pads so that they better match the nursery. It''s funny because this is the same SIL who gave us the Peter Rabbit bedding, but apparently she didn''t care that it didn''t match. By the time we get it to our house I might not care either though, lol. I''m pretty excited that we don''t have to decide what to do about a chair anymore and now we can get everything in place and hang things on the walls!

SILs friend offered us her breast pump. She said it''s a top of the line one, only a few years old and has only been used a handful of times. She thought it was a medela, but she''s not sure. I''m kind of leary about it since my understanding is that medelas are open systems and should only be used for one person. Does anyone know how much of an issue this really is? I''d love to save $300ish, but not at the expense of the health of my baby.

Yesterday I sat down at the computer to check my email and saw one from DH. We email throughout the day when we''re both at work, but I thought it was odd that he had emailed me on a Saturday. When I opened it I saw that he''d actually emailed our birthing instructor and CCed me on it. He mentioned a few weeks ago that he wanted to invite her and her husband to our house for a cookout at some point before they moved (they''re moving to England in July) to thank them for being awesome teachers, but we never discussed when this would happen and in his email he suggested next weekend. Uh...DH...probably should''ve checked with me before hitting send. Saturday is his cousin''s housewarming party (which he was informed of when we got the invitation) and Sunday is Sabine''s shower (we''ve got the invitation, which I created, hanging on the fridge) and I was thinking it would be nice to have Monday as a day to catch up on chores and relax a bit. I''m pretty annoyed with him for that, but can''t be too mad since he helped plan the surprise mani/pedi yesterday. Oh well, he can deal with telling them next weekend won''t work for us.

Congrats natalina! A girl! How exciting!

Pandora, hope you''re holding Daisy now.

Mela, hang in there! Sending you L&D dust!

Haha...Robbie, guys can be clueless sometimes. It''s the thought that counts right??

Question for you ladies....How much water should I be drinking. Before getting pregnant the only thing I drank was water---I''d have the recommended amount, 64 oz-72 oz. What should I be drinking now. I don''t want to suffer from dehydration and I definitely don''t want to get contractions later on from not drinking enough...

Robbie, a friend of mine from work offered me her pump as well and I declined since, like you, I wasn''t sure how much of an issue it might be given that most pumps are designed for only one user. Some people think it''s really gross to use a pump someone else has used, but now that I have one and understand how they work, I don''t think it would really be a problem. I''m glad I got mine since I expect to use it a ton but in retrospect, borrowing one from a friend certainly would have saved a bunch of money.

glad your photo shoot went well! And enjoy your shower!

Pandora- I hope your birth made up for the long wait and that you've got a healthy, happy little Daisy in your arms.

natalina, congratulations on joining team PINK! That Dr. Shettles is only right some of the time. If you crave avocados, maybe that means she'll be a tomboy?
31.gif
I know I'm a PITA by always asking, but have you thought of any names?

mela- Any day now. Heck, any minute! How exciting, though I know the waiting must be so frustrating. Come on out, himer!

Robbie- Have fun at your shower today! Will you be posting some of your maternity pics?

tao- I'm sure there's a *recommended* amount, but I try to keep a full glass with me at all times. As long as I'm constantly sipping, I feel hydrated enough.

Not much news from me, either. My husband just told me about an Old Navy baby sale, so I'm going to check that out, and then I'm off to a friend's bridal shower. Hope everyone else is having a great (be it productive or relaxing) Sunday.

Pandora-I hope you and Daisy are doing well! I can''t believe the hospital!!
Robbie-I would ask what brand it is and then find out what kind of parts you can replace. Don''t hold me to this but I believe you can replace the tubing on the Medela and get new nipple shields so if it is a Medela, I would take it. I already know those pics are going to be fabulous! Can''t wait to see them.
Natalina-Welcome to Team Pink!!
Sabine-I saw on the other board that your DH is graduating Med school today. A million congratulations!
Tao-80 to 100 oz of liquid is recommended. Liquid could include juices. 100oz is more recommended if you are also active.

Yesterday was my shower. FI and I had been laughing for weeks over it because we expected it to look like a sweet 15 (including a big embarrassing chair I''m supposed to sit on). I was so amazed at how beautiful it was. They spent hours decorating and it was overwhelming (in a good way). I had a fantastic time...I spent the entire night laughing, eating, and dancing. By the time I got around to opening the gifts, I was in such a great mood that I didn''t even notice whether I got things off of my registry or not. I was just loving all the tiny clothes. When I went through everything this afternoon I noticed that there were a few things off of the registry so that''s cool. Overall we received a bunch of adorable clothes, a swing, the safety 1st bathtub, the fisher price ocean wonders, and a bunch of accessories for the bedroom (set is almost complete!). Oh and diapers! Yay! LOL It was great. My mom is hosting a shower on June 20th which I personally think is way too close to my due date (7/13) and I have to drive 4 hours away but that''s also my dad''s birthday and my mom said it feels like he''ll be with us on that day. Can''t argue with that.
