ditto and/or go get a pedicure/manicure.

This, this, this. I went on Saturday, hoping for a full spa pedicure for my swollen feet, and they wouldn''t massage my legs or feet because of the pressure points! I bet they''d massage them for you, though, since you''re past term.

Do you have anything in your kitchen you can bake? Seems to be a pretty popular method of ''getting things going'' around here.
1.gif

Thritto on Pandora.

Amber- I had a whole long thing typed responding to you earlier that got eaten.
29.gif
Anyways to recap: I didn''t think you were arguing with me at all. You''re so funny. I was actually just trying to imagine it because I am like you and think I can pretty much do everything as normal. I have to remind myself (or be reminded rather) that I can''t. I actually thought I could go surfing at 20 weeks- until my doctor laughed at me when I asked her!
10.gif
I still think I could have done it physically, but couldn''t really argue with the "but what if you fall?" question! It''s just so hard to imagine what we''ll be like at 38 weeks. I for sure thought I would be way more cumbersome at 7 months where I am, but so far other than tiredness and a belly, I don''t feel all that much different. I love that it is your tradition, I would hope you could at least do dinner and get an ornament. That is so sweet and that ornament will be so special.
Oh, and no the worry that your dragon is still in there and ok doesn''t really go away, but it changes. I was way worried in the first tri, but every milestone lessens the worry. Now that I feel daily kicking, I don''t worry about it daily. Just when you do silly things like fall or spray Off all over yourself and then panic about the DEET. Both of which I did in the past week!

Fiery- So glad you had such a nice shower!!! You deserve it. I got mostly clothes at my shower, which was great, but I was kinda hoping for more practical stuff.

Well, I survived my husband''s graduation weekend and he is officially a doctor! His brother stayed with us from wednesday on, and his parents and sister came up as well, so it was a bit of a stressful weekend to say the least (hence my absence).

I''m still trying to catch up, but wanted to say congrats on team pink to Natalina, and send more good wishes to Pandora!

Does anyone else have really defined growth spurts? Every couple weeks, I''ll have a day or two where my stomach feels really tight and full all the time, all food gives me indigestion, and I''m more exhausted than ever. Then I feel back to normal, only I''ve gained a few pounds!

Amber, I think as long as it''s free, you should be fine to go eat and get an ornament, but I can already say I wouldn''t want to be walking around the park a great deal. I went to NYC over Easter, and I think we walked around about the amount that you would normally walk around Disney, and it really unexpectedly beat the crap out of me and I came home in soooo much pain. And that was when I was around 24 weeks I think!

Still haven''t gotten my 3 hour results...I called about them today, but the doctor never called back...have to say, it''s driving me a bit batty!

Sabine- Congrats to your DH! Very impressive. Re: growth spurts. Maybe that''s what''s going on with me! I hadn''t put all those together, but have been exhausted lately and definitely noticed the tight stomach and full belly. Hmmm! I was wondering why I was so tired lately. I don''t weigh myself though, so no idea if it''s adding weight. I just assume I am since I always gain weight at each appointment.

That''s annoying about your results. Did you fast or not fast this time or do anything differently? Just curious. Hope you hear soon.

Tao I'm sorry morning sickness is so bad for you! It's getting a little worse for me right now at 13w2d. I lost my lunch today
7.gif
Not fun. I haven't tried either of these remedies yet, but I'm going to try the ginger-- I have heard from several sources that ginger helps with nausea of all types, morning sickness included. You can eat it any way you want, I'm going to try making ginger tea. My mom showed me a recipe the other day. The other remedy my doctor told me to try is a sleeping pill ( I can't remeber the name right now!!). You just take it when you go to bed like any other sleeping pill and it helps with your nausea during the day. He said his wife took all through her 5 or so pregnancies cause she had m/s the whole time and it worked like a charm. Of course ask your doctor first though! Anyways, just throwing it out there for ya!
1.gif

Amber sorry about the back pain! I'm not feeling that yet. I totally think you should at least go to D-land for a couple hours. Do you guys have year passes? Or are you doing the free pass on your b-day thing? You can have dinner, a churro, watch fireworks, go a ride or two. I love going to D-land for just a short time. It's sooo much more relaxing!

I'm thinking about possibly taking a trip 2 months after baby is born and I'm wondering if I'm crazy! Baby is due Nov. 21 and hubby and I were thinking of going to the Vancouver Winter Olympics in Feb/March. Who thinks that nuts, who thinks it's doable??
33.gif
At first we were considering it cause I thought it wouldn't be until like Dec.2010. But then I realized it's Feb/March. So maybe it is crazy.

A lady at work made me her version of ginger tea. It worked for a bit, but about 2 hours later---yuck.

Haha! Mkay. I forgot to buy the ginger at the store tonight. I remembered standing in line but was too exhausted to go back and get it. Maybe I''ll still try it. Just regular peppermint tea helps me when I''m in the moment with nausea. Maybe I''ll stick to that.

Hey Sunkist,
Forgive me, but how many weeks along are you??

Another shout out to Pandora.
WE are all thinking of you sweetie, hope all is well. Check in when you can...

Sunkist, my LO is two months old right now and I would say that traveling is doable since we took her on a small road trip (5 hours away) for two nights when she was about 7 weeks old. The challenge though is that you''re going to have to bring a ton of stuff. I was amazed at how much we had to pack in the car! So if you need to fly, you might want to reconsider. As long as your LO doesn''t have colic, she will probably be sleeping a fair amount still which would make going to the games doable but it would certainly be a LOT of work. Hope this helps a bit!

Tao and Sunkist, I know LittleLysser''s doc advised her to take B6 and a half a unisom for her terrible nausea, is that what you were thinking?

Sunkist, it''d just be for the one day for the free pass thing on my birthday, we gave up our passes last year thinking of saving money. If there is any place I''d like to be for my birthday/anniversary (last one pre-baby) it''s there, with Paul.

If you''re crazy so are we. We''re planning on going to NY (a 7ish hour drive) before the baby''s even a month old for my cousin''s wedding.

Pandora, wanted to let you know I''m thinking about you! Can''t wait to see pics of Daisy! I hope everything ended up going much more smoothly once you got a bed.

I'll de lurk to say you are nuts.

It's one thing to take an infant on a flight or car drive to visit family when they are that young but another thing entirely to take them to something crazy loud, filled with people, and mostly outside during winter.

I think if you do take your LO be prepared for either a VERY unhappy infant due to overstimulation or be prepared for one of you to stay in the hotel room. By 2 months they'll still be sleeping a lot but will no longer be in that "I'm a newborn and I sleep alllllll day" mode.

Just my thoughts...but I would not have wanted to do it at 2 months.

Mrs.-- I travelled quite a bit with my little guy from day one, but in the early months we made sure we were close enough to a hotel, family''s home etc. so that we could all rest when needed. The problem with travel and a baby that young is not so much the baby (pretty portable at that point) but the mom (sleep deprivation-happy a traveller does not make!). Also finding a spot for the dozens of diaper changes and feedings would be crazy at a huge event like the olympics. Not that it isn''t possible but just challenging. I think if i had the opportunity to see the olympics i would try to make it happen
6.gif
)
We did a major trip (europe-5 countries) when my son was 6 months old and that was a perfect time IMO. He was starting to STTN, nursing less, not yet mobile but easily distracted with a simple toy etc. Any earlier and i would have been too tired to enjoy myself, any later and Co would have been less likely to sit in a stroller/plane/car/boat/carrier all day.

Hope Pandora is doing well!! Anxious to hear the news

to all the other preggies!

Nothing from Pandora???
7.gif
I am very worried.

Pandora- really thinking about you and hoping all is well. Getting kinda nervous that we haven't heard from you. I so hope you are just wrapped up in the wonderful world of holding your little Daisy and gazing at her sweet face all day long!

Mela, oh Meeeeelllllllaaaaaa>>>> me thinks you are maybe in the process of greeting your little one as well???? Haven't heard from you in a bit...Hope I'm right, otherwise you're probably so tired of having to say "nope- still here guys. Nothing happening yet". We are all just SO excited to see your beautiful little one, and to find out- Romeo or Luna- the suspense is amazing!!!! ETA:I guess you posted at noon yesterday, so maybe you're still around...anyhoo, thinking of you!

Sabine- Congrats to your DH! That is fantastic!

Thanks for all the name suggestions everyone! Keep em' comin'!

EBree- DH MIGHT go for Reese as a middle- not sure. Will have to see how it flows when we settle on a first. I do like Allison Reese, though. Does Allison seem too common to you guys?

Morgie- Avery is another FAVORITE, and DH hasn't vetoed it yet. My boss has a daughter named Avery. Would that be weird? It's not like we're good friends or anything...

Sweetpea- I really like Delaney too- it's a big fave for my mom.

China- I would LOVE to see your name list for girls now that you know you're having a boy!

Amber- your comment about how your stubborness gets you into many 'interesting' pickles had me laughing out loud because I am the same way- although I also have the 'I can do it MYSELF' syndrome that compounds the stubborness and makes it even worse! I like Sunkist's suggestion of going for dinner and a churro (mmmmmm, churros!!!). That sounds like a nice night, but reasonable for your body at that point. I know your vibes point to 'boy'- are you going to find out to know for sure?

Tao & Sunkist- Sorry to hear about the morning sickness. Wish I could help...
14.gif
As for the travelling with a baby that young, I'll leave that advice up to our resident pros since I know NOTHING at this point!!

Updated name possibility list: (I'm including DH vetos just so you guys can get an idea of what I like
emwink.gif
)
Layne
Allison
Avery
Tessa (
emembarrassed.gif
I hope Tacori wouldn't mind- DH really loves it)
Raina/Reina
Kennedy (not too sure about this one)
Elise (but only for middle we think)
Lake (DH vetos)
Reese (DH vetos)
Quinn (DH vetos)
Ryan (DH vetos)

I seem to remember Pandora said that she would be in hospital for a while after giving birth? Maybe, she just does not have access to a computer to post. Keeping my fingers crossed that is all it is

Mela, oh Meeeeelllllllaaaaaa........otherwise you''re probably so tired of having to say ''nope- still here guys. Nothing happening yet''.

Yup. That''s about right. I''m being totallly selfish right now, and kinda hiding out because it''s overwhelming the amount of texts, phone calls, emails I''m getting "have you had the baby yet?"...and I''m seriously SO shocked that we haven''t...that''s its like salt in the wound every time I have to say "nope. Nuthin'' yet!".

So, I''m a very realistic person. I have 100% not lost track of the fact that I''m going to have a fully baked, healthy, happy FULL FULL term baby. I am thrilled about that and do not take it for granted. But. Here is my secret "tell my PS girls only BUT"....as someone who follows astrology (mostly for entertainment), I cannot help but feel dissapointed that I''m only 2 days away from missing the Taurus window.

I know that sounds crazy to most people. I am a Taurus, my BFF is a Taurus, and I''ve never met a Taurus I didn''t like. I just "get" them. Although there is NOTHING wrong with Gemini - I was REALLY excited to have a Taurus baby.
4.gif
Don''t judge me on this eccentricity.
40.gif
It is what is is...and I''ll get over it when I hold my chubby healthy baby...but RIGHT now, in my hormone induced state of pity, I''m mourning the "loss" of a wee little bull.
25.gif

Okay. ENOUGH.

I''m worried about Pandora too. This is a FAR more serious conversation to have.

Pandora??? Thinking of you!!!!

Mela 39w 4d

Aww, Mela. I''m sorry. Funny, the "salt in the wound" terminology was exactly what came to my mind when I asked if it was getting hard to keep having to say "nuhtin'' yet". Don''t feel irrational about possibly not having a Taurus baby. Although I will say, I am a Gemini and I think we are fabulous
emwink.gif
. Really, I''ve always loved being a Gemini. I''ve always thought there was something a bit mysterious (in a good way) about Gemini''s.
Thinking about you.

Mela-I totally get you on the Taurus thing. Of all the signs, that''s my fav. FI originally wanted a baby in January so that he/she will be a Capricorn like us. That''s way too many Cappys in our household so I''m grateful for my Cancer.

I''m sure Pandora is holding Daisy now and enjoying her time. My guess is that she doesn''t have access to update or isn''t feeling up to it just yet. Hopefully she''ll update us within the next week or so.

just checking in to see how Pandora's doing--thinking of her.

and Mela, dont' think you're eccentric, my DH is the same way! He really wanted a libra or scorpio (ours was a september baby) and I was like "hey, i can't control when she shows up!!". But even though I thought it was a *bit* silly, I couldn't help but want it for him and have everything as perfect as can be. Well we got our little libra, but then she was born on our anniversary which I wasn't too excited about! LOL. Oh well, can't have everything and your little one will be here soon which is the best part of all. And who knows, there's still 2 days left and a border Taurus/Gemini is going to be more like a Taurus anyway (not that there's anything wrong with geminis!)
emsmile.gif

I''m with Fiery on the Pandora thing, I''m sure she''s just recuperating and resting, possibly getting the special treatment (meaning extra attention paid to her because of the concerns and all), most likely having people flood her room for extended periods of time. If I recall correctly, wasn''t she going to be watched closely by various groups? I''m sure she''s going to be just beat, after all that waiting and medication she was requesting (but not receiving
29.gif
). Still, PANDORA- I''m hoping all is well in your woods!

Natalina: DH worked with a family that had 6 kids: Avery, Ryan, Marley, Darren, Jordan and Corey. All were girls except for Corey!

I''m checking in on Pandora too. I''m sure everything is fine and she''s just busy recovering and being a new mommy. I hope she updates us soon though.

Pandora will be in the hospital for a longer period (a week?) due to her high risk for PPD etc. So she and Daisy are probably fine!

Hope all is well Pandora, and can''t wait to hear from you!

Amber- I like Riley Guy! I know Riley is unisex, but it has always seemed more masculine to me. Apparently, it means "courageous." Good meaning! As for Disneyland, I think it'd be fine to go since you live nearby and get in for free. I wouldn't suggest taking a trip (involving an airplane, or a long car ride!) a few weeks from your due date, but since it's relatively close to home, why not? It'd be a sweet memory.

natalina- Tessa Layne also flows really well- love that combination. I don't think Allison is too common, but it is top 50. Everyone has their comfort level, whether it's using the #1 name because they love it, or not wanting to use something in the top 100.

I'm guessing Pandora's just fine. Exhausted, probably, and soaking up every minute with her newborn. I bet she'll check in soon! We're thinking about you and Daisy.

Who else is dealing with swollen feet? Mine look like tree trunks if I'm on them for 20 minutes, no joke. Oh, and the two red dots I noticed on my hip last week? They connected to form my first real pregnancy stretch mark. It better not call any friends over to join it.

I know I don''t post often, but I read everything...Anyhow, I had my 36-week internal exam yesterday and was prepared for the WORST pain. Everyone I had spoken with said it hurt and they were NOT prepared for it...Well, my doctor had me form fists with both of my hands and place them under my butt during the exam (I wasn''t in stirrups; just knees spread). He said that gets the cervix in an easier and less painful position for checking. And, I had to say - it was not bad at all! I''ve had way worse experiences with a speculum!

So just thought I''d share for those of you coming up on your first internal!

36W2D.

Popping in again to let Pandora know I''m thinking of her and her family. I hope everything is okay and that you''re holding your sweet daughter in your arms.

Sabine Congrats to your DH! I loved reading about your "growth spurts" more info to lock away for the future
3.gif

Natalina Great name list! I don't know about Allison... I have a friend who just used Allyson for her newborn, and I know quite a few who are my age. I feel like it is well known, but not overused. Maybe because it's been *somewhat* popular for such a long time, but it hasn't seemed to take off recently like so many others on the SSA list. KWIM?
Mela Sorry you are still preggo my dear. I hear you on the zodiac though, the first 2 things I did when the pregnancy sunk in to my brain was check birthstones and signs! Not that it mattered, but I really wanted to know!
Amber Congrats on the second trimester mark! I like Riley Guy... has a nice ring to it.
EBree Ugh, swollen feet and a stretch mark... sorry to hear it. I hadn't thought about pressure points from a pedi massage, guess they need to be safe, but I'm sure you were looking forward to that part!
35.gif
Hi to everyone I've missed
35.gif

My appointment yesterday was pretty hilarious. It was the first time we met the Dr. and he is quirky, but we like him. He has 3 grandkids and has been doing this forever, which I love. No ego, no stress which is why I chose him in the first place, really easy going, but very qualified. Ok, so... the whole office part went really well, then he had me go into the exam room and put on the paper smock thing, feet go in the stir-ups, get ready to do the pap and ultrasound, and.....
a knock on the door..... the hospital (next door) is paging him to deliver a baby!
He excused himself, DH and I sat in the exam room, me in my paper clothes, waiting while he delivered a baby! (DH and I laughed about that all evening!) He came back about 30 min. later, we got to see the bean, and the heartbeat! He said I was measuring just under 8 wks. and moved my EDD to 12/31/2009... holy moly
3.gif
I'm not too sure that is accurate, but what ever, what EDD is I guess!
We are officially starting to tell people, yay!

Lol, sorry for the novel!

I''m having the same problem with my feet. They''re actually really swollen right now and its worrying me. What I do when I get home is immediately soak my feet in some warm water and then put them up. I''m also sleeping on my back so that I can put my feet up. I just prop a pillow under my back so that I''m not completely flat.

Brgirl-How did the internal go? Any progress?
Sweet Pea-Yay for telling people now! Sounds like you had a great appointment!

That''s great about your appointment Sweet Pea! I can''t believe he delivered a baby in a half an hour, while you were sitting there partially nude. Hilarious! Also, can you say "HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Odd to think one day separates you from a tax write-off!
31.gif
Did you see the heartbeat? The little flicker?

Also: I forgot to mention this, my cousin-in-law told my Aunt (who is like a grandmother, really) about our baby. She told her and then went, "Ooop! I don''t think I was supposed to say anything!" Yeah right. My aunt was really hurt she didn''t hear it from me, but when I called her (on a tip from my other cousin) she blamed the cousin in law for being rude and speaking out of turn. I only told that cousin first because she told me that due to her fertility issues (had a set of twins ending in a hysterectomy two years ago, and had one set of twins born in March with a surrogate and another set of twins due in AUGUST of this year with ANOTHER surrogate) she hates hearing when other people get pregnant, so I was trying to be KIND by letting her know before everyone else. Oh yeah, and the "PLEASE DON''T SAY ANYTHING YET" was also mentioned, but ignored. God. I hate having to do damage control for something that''s supposed to be HAPPY news.

Brgirl-How did the internal go? Any progress?
Thanks for asking! No, none...my cervix is shortening, but no effacement or dilation. I did have a contraction while I was in there, so the DR tried to show me what my stomach looked like when it happened, but I am still worried I won''t know when these mild ones start for early labor!
