Thanks for the enabling, ladies! I''m still working on DH who is like, ''FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR A STROLLER!?'' Helloooo, it''s like, three hundred OFF. I think I''ll just pay for it myself.
Oh Amber- that had me rolling! That is a conversation that has been had MANY times between DH and I (stroller, carseat, crib, and let''s not even DISCUSS diaper bags! The list goes on.....). I definitely say GO FOR IT!!!! We have the Micralite Fastfold Newborn+ System, and I''m so glad we got it. Some of my reasons for choosing it (bassinet and carseat compatible were big for me) would also be covered by the UppaBaby. If I could have saved that kind of $ on the Uppa, I just may have gone that route. It looks fabulous! Have you seen the BabyGizmo review of the Uppa? If not, do a search for it. It''s really great. Sorry to hear you had a rough-tummy day the other day! Hope those times are in the past now!

Mela- Oh no...I am off to Etsy after I post this thanks to you! That stuff is SO cute! Are you doing cloth diapers, or will you out the covers over regular just because they are so darn cute? Seriously LOVE them! I really hope the membrane sweep gets things rolling. Looking forward to the gory details, as I have no IDEA what that might entail! Hope it doesn''t hurt!

Fiery- the 2 bedding choices Mela posted for you are adorable! Warning- if you have not yet checked out the Serena & Lily website/product line, BRACE YOURSELF! It is so unbelievably cute you might just pass out! I just got their catalog the other day, and let''s just say that it''s a good thing my resolution for this year is to pay off my credit card EVERY month, or I would be in serious trouble! They have a moses basket in there that is to-die-for.I am totally like you in that the only pink I want in our girl''s room is her clothes. I''m sure you and your DH will come to an agreement.

Robbie- Names are so tough! I LOVE Lake, it is our top contender for a middle name right now. I would love to do it as a first name, but DH isn''t as sold as me. Of your lists, I like Jillian best for a girl (it''s on our list too, my mom is already caling the baby Jilly-Bean
20.gif
) for a gril and Andrew for a boy (would you use Drew or Andy as nname? I love Drew) Let''s see...how about:
GIRLS:
Jamison
Lia
Langley
Leighton
Liesel
London

BOYS:
Lofton
Alexander (ends in er, but still great!)
Anderson
Nicholas
Grant
Weston
Bennett

(Hmm...looking at these lists I guess I really like names that end in ''on''!)

China- exciting about starting a new job AND moving! Get some rest whenever you can! What a whirlwind! Funny about your DH and the labor class. I really wonder how mine will take it. I need to make sure he pays close attention to the "don''t take offense if your wife doesn''t want to talk/be touched/etc." part. He gets his feelings hurt kinda easily, and that''s the last thing I want to be worrying about!

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! It''s my last day of vacation before going back to work. Off to run some errands and then celebrate! Hope everyone is well!

Amber - I may be an enabler also, but I say get the Uppa! I absolutely love that stroller. If we could get it for $400, I probably would have. Having the Snap N Go may also be a good idea, though, since the Uppa is kind of bulky for quick trips. But it has so many features, I''m sure you will use it a ton. And I FINALLY saw someone using one IRL last week at our street fair. My mom went straight up to her (no shame) and asked her if she liked it. She was using it with the bassinet with her newborn, and she said she loved it. She said it even fit in the trunk of her Mini Cooper, which I was surprised at.

I would definitely take DH with you to try out the stroller. My DH was not wild about spending a lot of money on a stroller, especially since we got a used BOB from our neighbor, and he thought we could use that for everything. But I really wanted a smaller stroller that we could use from day one, since I find the BOB a little bullky for everyday use (although a lot of people disagree with me). A baby store by us had the Bugaboo Bee for $100 off this past weekend, so I dragged him to the store. After trying to maunever a jogging stroller through the tight aisles, then trying the Bee, he finally got what I was talking about. I think if you get your DH to push the Uppa, and he can feel how smooth the ride is, and see all the features, he will be sold.

Pandora - Congrats! Daisy is beautiful, and you are handling things ridiculously well. I am so impressed by all the women on here.

Robbie - We are having a heck of a time with names, too. And we know for sure what we are having. If I had to pick out both boy and girl names, I think I''d go crazy! Here are my choices for you (based on things we considered which follow your rules).

Girl:
Leah
Joanna

Boy:
Jonah
Jeremiah

I could list a whole bunch more boy names, since that is obviously what I''ve been focusing on
1.gif
. You''ve already got some great suggestions, though.

Natalina - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

fiery- We're planning on having our car cleaned this weekend (it needs it!) and the car seat installed after that. The same place that we're planning to buy it from has a technician install it for free, which is a fabulous deal.

mela- AHH! I love it all! SO, so cute. Oh, man...Etsy is such a time suck. Good luck at your midwife appt. today!

Natalina- Happy Birthday!

Amber- While doing a search for bedding, I came across this and thought of you. Didn't you say (way back when) that you thought you might want to do sort of a woodsy, forest theme? Or am I out of my mind? Willow Bedding

Ebree, Fiery, Mela - thanks! It turned out that they were just calling to tell me that my bloodwork was perfect. Great news, but why cause the stress?!? Turns out that, thanks to HIPA, they can''t leave information in messages in case someone else hears it. Grrrrr ....

Mela, I love your patterns! And that little tag is so cute!

So Cal, thanks for the DH tip, I think you may be right. These guys are so visual.

Natalina: Enjoy your vacation!

Ebree, that was me! I LOVE that bedding!!

Robbie:

Boy -- Matthew
Girl -- Leah, Lianne, Elena

Love all of the nursery ideas floating around!! What are your thoughts about getting/not getting a crib for the first 4 months or so if we have a cosleeper in our bedroom? Maybe someone like Dreamer who did the cosleeper thing can chime in. We live in a 2-bedroom apartment and one of the bedrooms is DH''s office, so the babies will only get half a nursery. Unfortunately there is really no other place to put DH''s bookshelves/desk since my "office" is in the living room. Oh well, the babies probably won''t notice anyway! We are still SO excited about setting up their little space.

Robbie, I wish that I could help you but I''m not that good at names. Maybe it''s just a matter of seeing your baby and figuring out "what" he/she looks like? How important is it to you to have a common/uncommon name? Some of the names you mentioned are pretty popular right now, and some not so much.

Fisher, good to see you here!

Just wanted to share this cute pic from DH''s graduation! Right after the ceremony he ran up to me and did this and FIL caught it on camera.

Mela--ah, thanks

. I am a Capricorn but certainly an indecisive one! I am almost never confident in decisions I make

. LOVE those diaper covers. SO adorable. I am going to have to check out that site. Everyone seems to love it!!
Anxious to hear about your appnt--bring on the gory deets!!

Fiery--i really like that bedding too!!! Actually, i like all of it on that site--must bookmark :-)

Peony - That picture is so sweet!!!

Coming in a little late, but Pandora, I''m so glad you and Daisy made it through safely, and I wanted to tell you what a beautiful little girl you have. Congratulations!

Quick drive by for a cute nephew story...

Sister, her DH and two boys were in the car (3 and 6)....when teh 6-year-old (A) says:

A: Mom, you left your mom''s house...didn''t you?
Sis: Yes I did.
A: Well, I''m not going to do that.
Sis: What do you mean?
A: I''m going to stay with you until you die....
...then, I''ll leave to have kids and stuff.
Sis: oh, ok...
A: Then when I die I will call you so we can get together again.
Sis: That sounds wonderful, I''d love that!

LOL...I thought that was so cute. He''s too small for ehr to say "No son, you will go to college and find a nice gir and won''t want to be with me"...I told ehr she should write it down and show it to him when it''s time for him to leave home!...hehe

PEONY We had the cosleeper "do I still need a crib" discussion a few weeks back and my answer is YES. You need **something** else to have the babies sleep in-or get the arm's reach co-sleeper (the full size can fit twins) because it converts into a freestanding bassinet.

My reason (and Dreamer's too) is that our babies were SO SO loud that we just couldn't cosleep with them. They kept me up all night. So we moved them in the arm's reach co-sleeper to the living room (it was easier for me to BF on the couch than it was in their "nursery" when they were up 10 times a night.)

So you really need to have a plan B in case cosleeping doesn't work out. Whether that is a crib, a pack n play, or a cosleeper that can freestand-you want SOMETHING.

Also, if you want to BF twins this pillow is the most amazing thing ever because you can feed them both at once. SUCH a timesaver:

http://www.doubleblessings.com/servlet/Detail?no=271

We had that and two boppies-the boppies really served to help me move the babies on and off the nursing pillow and now that they are learning to sit up they can sit up in the boppies-they are really great all around pillows but not great for BFing twins.

Hope that helps!

We are in a 2 bedroom apartment so I hear ya! Luckily we are in the process of buying a house now so we'll have more space (Hallelujah!) but it's doable. We have a large weird room that is supposed to be a butler's pantry or something so I moved DH's office out of our second bedroom and into there.

Just de-lurking to say congratulations Pandora! I''m sorry you got put through the wringer like that, what an experience.

Daisy is so beautiful, hope you are enjoying every minute getting to know her

First, you guys are so cute!

We have a 2 bedroom as well. The second room was a guest room/music studio/office. What we''ve done is thrown out as much as we didn''t need or use. The rest we have fit into our home using the greatest store ever invented: Ikea LOL. We bought this really great corner computer armoire that fit FI''s 2 monitors and 3 CPUs. The guitar is out in the living room as sort of a decorative piece and the keyboard he just packs up. We were going to keep the guest bed in the room for when my family visits but my mom convinced me to get rid of it. They only stay at the very most for a week so sleeping on the sleeper isn''t a big deal for them.

I had asked the mommies here as well as some friends whether a crib was needed and everyone pretty much told me yes. I was going to hold off on it as well.

Neatfreak, thanks SO much for the info! We were planning to get the full-sized Arm''s Reach cosleeper (I actually didn''t even know there was another one). We may just end up getting the crib too because we''ll need it eventually, right? Actually, we''ll need two eventually but hopefully not for a while.

Thanks for the nursing pillow link! I actually already had it bookmarked from before. We''re definitely getting that!! What is the other main stuff that we need? I know that there are are baby gyms (those play mats), swings, and bouncers. Do we just need one of those each? Well, we probably don''t NEED those, but are they helpful to have to entertain the babies? Thanks so much for any advice you have! I actually already started adding things to a Babies R Us registry to keep things organized, but I haven''t told anyone about it yet.
9.gif

Thanks for the advice Fiery! We will definitely be trying to get rid of a lot of stuff! I think you have convinced me that we should get a crib.

What do you guys think of the Graco Lauren crib: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3245139? I like that''s it''s not very expensive and it got good reviews.

Amber
Ditto on taking DH to check out strollers. When I was researching, showing and talking to DH about strollers, he always said “do we need such an expensive stroller?” Then we went stroller shopping, and he fell for our stroller and actually said that he rather spend a couple more hundreds for it. So you would never know. Uppa Baby was definitely one of my top choices, but DH didn’t like it as much.
Mela
Love those diaper covers. So cute.
I love browsing on etsy, but have yet to order anything. Maybe I’ll buy something for baby #2.
Have you started baking yet? It kicked off labor for a few PS mommies. =D
Fiery
I had seen some bedding sets that are mostly white with pink/brown or pink/green accent, so it’s not extremely pink. We didn’t get M any pink things except clothes, but we ended up getting quite a few pink blankets. We don’t have a bedding set for M at all; we just got sheets and none of those are pinks. =P Hope you can find something you and DH can agree on.
Peony
You and your DH are so adorable.

I will be going in for my first appt tomorrow. I think I am 5 wks pg. We''ll see.

Thanks Qtie!!
Congrats on the news! I wish you a happy and healthy 9 months!

Quick car seat question since it''s so hard to search this thread!

My friend that just had twins recently (they''re like 6-7 months now) is giving me her car seats+double snap and go. I know they barely used them because they live in the city and the girls had care at home, so they are all in great shape and pretty new!. I would just have to pay for shipping (and of course a gift or something as a thank you). I would have to get one extra car seat base, but those are only like $40.

Anyway, she has the Graco SnugRide seats:

Any opinions on these?

Thanks!

one more question...

what do you guys think of this bedding?
http://www.allmodernbaby.com/JJ-Cole-CBBB-JJC1089.html

It does have close to the colors I want, no green, but I can add that with some art, etc. The cribs will be white and modern looking, similar to the one that it's shown with.

ETA: I guess it does have a tiny little bit of green!

DARN you, Mandarine!

You led me to my new favorite bedding!

DwellStudio Robin

ETA: FRICK, Mandarine! I can't NOT find one that I love!!

dwellstudiorobin.jpg

Congrats Qt! Good luck with your appointment tomorrow
36.gif

Mandarine-Have you purchased the Baby Bargains book? Graco snugride was given a great rating. I think most moms (in the US) get either Graco or Chicco as their infant car seat. I would just check the expiration date although if she only purchased 7 months ago, it should be fine. You could always take it to the local fire station or even the hospital to have it inspected.

I like the bedding a lot! You could always switch out the blue sheet for a green one when its time to do laundry. Crib sheets are pretty inexpensive at BRU/Target/Walmart.

Amber-love, love, love it! Damn it boy bedding is soooo cute!

Ok Mandarine that post with the bedding was heaven sent! I have been looking for this bedding after it keeps showing up on google images and couldn''t find it. It was on the site you posted!! What a coinkydink

http://www.allmodernbaby.com/LULCB-POT1122.html
(Excuse the wall "art" and the color of the purple on the walls. Ours is not the same)

Amber I love that one too!....love the pears

9.gif

Fiery I didn''t get that book just because I''m far behind in all teh reading I already do have! lol...The car seats can''t be more than a year old so it should be ok...I''ll have to check anyway!. Thanks
9.gif

Ha, Fiery, I saw that bedding and thought of you!!

Fiery I love that set!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very very cute!!!!!!!!!! I''ll live my girly dreams through those of you having girls!
9.gif

Peony, I have the Graco Lauren crib, but we haven''t built it yet or used it yet (will build next week after we move) so I should be able to give you a review! Adorable pic by the way!

Qtiki (I think...) Congrats!!!! Did I miss the big announcement? Good luck at your appointment! If I remember correctly, you had been lurking here missing being pregnant for a while, no?

Mela, hope your appt. went well!

Mandarine and Fiery, my computer is being dumb and I can''t look at the bedding you two like...I will keep trying though.

Thanks for all the shower compliments!

I''m actually having a bit of a freak out. The movers are coming on the 29th to pack us, then are actually loading and moving all the stuff on the 1st, but I''m not actually leaving until the 6th! I thought it would be pretty simple to organize all the stuff I need, but it''s proving WAY more overwhelming than I thought! It would be fine if I could be here while they pack, but I''ll be at work and dh will be supervising. I keep thinking of things like, I need a baking sheet and pot holder so I can make some of the food I want to eat....crap, I forgot that! Or, what if they accidentally pack my library books that need to be returned?!? Sigh. Need to relax.

Awweee Peony, what a sweet sweet picture of you and hubby.
And what a cute bump you are sporting.

Mela
Good luck at the middie appt.
Hope the sweep does the trick to get Romeo evicted

Sabine
The cuppie bear cake is just the cutest.
Sounds like you had a blast at your shower (minus the last segment of your mom complaining).
That picture of you and robbie is just adorable.

Everyone else...hope you preggos are doing well.

Wow~ I LOVE all the modern crib bedding that has been posted! I am also looking for something clean and modern, nothing with a theme.

I actually came across a bedding set that I really love, and it is 75% off! Original price was $388 and sale price is $85. The crazy thing is I am only 12 weeks along and obviously don''t know if it is a boy or a girl. The bedding is for a baby girl and it is pink and gray. Those colors seem really hard to find. I''ve only seen a few other sets with that color combo and they were $$$. It is non-returnable, but I may just buy it anyways! I do FEEL like I will have a girl!
