Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Love all the bump pics.

Mandarine – you have such a cute little bump. I look like that now.
Viz – it looks so neat to take a pic from your view of your bump. I will have to steal that idea.
anchor – I can the bump. So cute.
Cdt – you are all belly. You look great.
Mela – you look beautiful.
Sapphire – can’t believe you are 25 weeks. Cute belly.
Peri-massage
I thought about doing it with the 1st pregnancy, but never did it. The nurse was doing the massage after I was 10cm dilated but before I pushed.
Internal
OB starts doing them at 36 weeks. There’s no point in them. I was not dilated at all at my 39 weeks appt, and we all thought I will go overdue. Well I gave birth 3 days before my EDD. For me, it was ok b/c it didn’t give me false hope. But for some ladies who go around dilated for weeks, it probably sucks.
Update on 1st appointment
I am indeed pregnant. We could see the sac on the external u/s. We go back in 3 weeks, and hope to see the heartbeats then. This pregnancy is definitely different than the last. I didn’t get any m/s and nauseousness with M, but I had felt nausea a few times already (it prompted me to take the HPT actually) and a lot of back pain.

Qtie: Great news!!

Q- Congrats!!!!!!!

Hi everyone! I know I don''t post much, but I follow everything and always like to hear about the births!!

Anyhow, I was due June 14th (and in my head, felt I was due June 18th because I was charting and knew when I got pregnant..) but my baby boy came 3 weeks and 1 day early - Saturday, May 23rd at 6:29am! We didn''t know what we were having, so it was such a double surprise! We did not even have our bags packed, and we slowly packed them Friday night when I started having contractions around 10:30 pm...No mild contractions, just hard, back labor contractions. After my husband and I questioned whether it was truly real labor for about 2 hours, we called the hospital and they told us to go ahead and come in. By the time we got to the hospital, I was 3 cm dialated. By the time I got the epidural (about 2 hours later), I was 10 cm. NOT exactly what I had planned, but I''m already forgetting the pain! I pushed for 2 hard hours and could not believe it when he came out. I cried and cried because it was finally over and it was so surreal.

We had planned for Memorial Day weekend to be our last big ''get everything done weekend,'' because who comes 3 weeks early?! So, not everything got done, and it turns out - it''s okay!

Mommy and Alexander are doing well! He was 6 lbs 7.5 oz, but is now down to 6lbs..so little!

Mela - I''m sorry you haven''t gone into labor yet! I haven''t had a ton of time to catch up on PS, but I did read through quickly to see if you had gone yet!

Congrats mama.

Thank you! That is definitely the best representation of how we think he looks everyday!
I always love your avatars!!

Brgirl - congrats on the birth of Alexander! he is so precious! I am BEYOND jealous. No seriously. What I would have done to go into labour all by myself. Your L&D story sounds (painful) but GREAT. A true gift! Enjoy that bundle. He is devine.

Q - congrats on the great appt girl! Who doesn''t love a yolk sak!?
3.gif

Sapphire - you and Logan both look GREAT! YEY on all this goodness going around.

All - thanks for your support and kind words (about my overdue appearance, hah). This thread has been a great source of info and support and comraderie over the past 41 weeks. THANKS TO ALL for that. I''m SO FARKING ready to have this baby, but I will miss being a part of this thread. awwww.

I''ll update you tomorrow after our afternoon ultrasound. If all goes according to plan, we''ll get induced with an inflatable cervix dilator after the u/s, sent home for the night (as the thingy-bingy does its magic) and then back to the hosptil Sunday Morning for a dose of Oxytocin (pitocin)...and then....well, TAH DAH! babytime!

9.gif
Stay tuned!

Brgirl! Congrats! Alexander is beyond gorgeous!

Mela I seriously can not wait for you to have your baby! I''m more excited for you then I am about my own pregnancy right now (Morning sickness has subsided a bit---still dry heaving a bit though). I think my excitement has to do more with just finding out what you are having--the suspense is nuts---and this is why I have to know with my own pregnancy

Had my doctor''s appointment today. Heard the heartbeat again--which never gets old. The first time I heard the hb it was 175, then the second was 165 and now it''s at 155. The doctor said everything looks good and that I''m "Definitely pregnant". Duh! I''m 16 weeks 1 day already....this Doctor was kind of a kook.

We scheduled our "big" u/s for Friday, June 26th. I cannot wait to find out the sex of the baby and to make sure that everything is looking great.

Awwww Alexander is soooo gorgeous. Congrats brgirl. I had DS 3 weeks early too...

QT, yay! Glad your appointment went well! Sorry about the m/s and back pain.

mela, sending lots of L&D dust your way!

brgirl, congrats! Alexander is beautiful. My son came 3 weeks early and was 6 lbs 7 oz too.

brgirl what a precious little guy you have!!! he is so cute!! glad that you are doing well as well.

brgirl
Congrats. Alex is so precious.

Thanks everyone for your congrats.

brgirl- A big congrats!

Alexander is a handsome little guy!

Mela- I had to come out of lurkdom to tell you I had the cervix dilator during my induction (I had already been on Pitocin for a little while) to move things along and it put me into hard labor almost immediatly! Just be prepared if your body is close already you may not be going home with it and may just start there and then! I''ll forwarn you it wasn''t the most comfortable procedure but I went from 1/2cm to 3cm within a half-hour! Best of luck to you and many labor vibes going your way for a smooth labor!

brgirl- Alexander is absolutely gorgeous! What a precious little sweetie! And you chose one of my favorite names! Just love it. What a dollbaby! Congrats!

mela- i am so excited for you today! Cannot wait to 'meet' Luna or Romeo. I hope the day/night goes well- I just know you will be a labor champ- you're an amazing preggo (and I'm sure will soon be an amazing mama!). I can't get over your last pic, you look fantabulous! Your DH is too cute holding up little Mela- love it. Good luck, good luck, safe and quick delivery wishes, and in your words, "GO BODY GO!!!!"

Ohhh. Thanks for that L2L! I hadn''t even considered a "fast" labour...but you''re right, it COULD happen!

Festy - you''re hilar. Roma and Luneo. HAHAHAHAHA. Love it.

Just in case I don''t "get home" between my induction and the birth, I figure I''ll post the PS baby guesses now.

So excited for you, Mela! I hope your labor progresses slowly so that you can go naturally for a while like you wish to do. I hope it doesn''t take too long though!

Good luck today/tomorrow Mela! Can''t wait to meet himer!

Congrats brgirl, Alex looks so sweet and precious!

Can I have a selfish vent moment? The movers were supposed to come and pack yesterday, but not load stuff until Monday, so we were still supposed to have all our furniture this weekend. Well, they decided to just pack and load almost all of it yesterday! We still have the bed, but chairs and couch are gone. NOT comfy for my pregnant body. Even sitting on the bed is starting to hurt. Boo. Need to make it till next saturday. Plus, we did end up forgetting to put aside a bunch of little stuff that they weren''t supposed to pack and now it''s too late (like the broiler pan that EVERYONE except my husband knows stays with the stove...so totally going to get charged for that).

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Brgirl- Congrats!!!!! He''s so cute, again PS babies are gorgeous.

Mela- Sending you everything I''ve got for today and this weekend!!!! Can''t WAIT to meet Roma Luneo!!!!
3.gif

Sabine- Don''t apologize for venting. I feel for you. I too have a lot less patience than before and would be annoyed if I was you. It''s hard enough getting comfortable and such in normal circumstances! Do you have one of those balls to sit on? Just a thought!!! We are packing this weekend and moving next weekend and I am dreading it, b/c I know that once my comforts and routines get messed up I am going to be very grumpy. Hope this week goes by fast for you!

BRGIRL-He''s gorgeous! I''m so glad the two of you are doing well. Don''t be a stranger! Congrats again!!

brgirl - CONGRATS!!! Alexander is so adorable!! Look like a little angel!!!

Mela - thinking of you and hoping himer is on his/her way!!!

Brgirl - congrats! Alex is just adorable.

Mela - I know that you''ll be awesome, but good luck anyway!

Brgirl - Congratulations! Alexander is just adorable! Hope you''re enjoying the first few days...

Mela - Just adding my BOY vote here!

Well...its been a LOOOONG day and Im exhausted! We had our 1st of 2 showers today. It was a joint Baby/Wedding shower. We got a bunch of clothes from Newborn right on up to 2T which is nice since they grow out of things so fast. We got a bunch of hooded towels/washcloths, some stuffed animals and baby books, some bath wash and butt ointment. A few packages of diapers and wipes. We got a stroller/carseat travel system: LINKIE Plus matching Pack n Play: LINKIE. We also got this swing: Linkie. We also got a cute bouncy seat that turns into a rocking chair. 2 cute bathtubs that are shaped like a whale (one for upstairs and one for down). A few snuggly blankets , some random teethers and toys, safty covers etc. Lots of bibs and such. Im sure you get the jist of it lol. As for wedding stuff...we got a bath set, some towels, pots/pans, silverware, food processer/chopper, bed sheets, pillows, 10 piece comforter set, picture frames etc. The only BIG item things that I can remember that I still need are: highchair, breast pump, and glider chair. So ill see what we get at the 2nd shower on the 6th. And whatever we still need, we''ll get by using the $375 in gift cards that we also recieved. So...besides picking up a few baby bottels (which supprisingly we got none of yet lol) we should be pretty well set.

CONGRATS brgirl! Add me to the early babies list. My son was born 3.5 weeks early and was also 6lbs, 7oz. He''s not so tiny anymore though!

Mela - thinking of you! You look great in you pic!

Zee update:

We "passed" the ultrasound. All 8 factors looked good! So that was a big score.

After that, DH and I, my two middies, and the OBs at the hospital gathered to discuss my situation. This is the point form recap:

-Middies prefer to induce next Saturday.
-OBs want to induce no later than Tuesday.
-Both agree that waiting until Tuesday does not guarantee that I will go into labour naturally, nor does it mean that if I did, I wouldn''t need some assistance (oxytocin) considering how long, closed and firm I am now.
-Everyone agrees that both me and the baby are at the most optimum of health. (Neither of us have expired)
-Middie thinks I need to keep an open mind about HOW my baby gets here, because at this point, the HOW is not as important as a healthy mom and baby.
-OBs worry that waiting until Tuesday could just prolong the inevitable, and we run the risk of a busy L&D floor; thus pushing us even further past my due date
-Tomorrow''s L&D is wide open. They could pretty much guarantee room for me tomorrow.

So in the end, we all agreed that inducing now was a proactive approach, based on the information available to us NOW (rather than trying to predict the future). They fitted me with the inflatable cathedar and sent me home. It should dialate me overnight to 3-4 cm. Tomorrow am I''ll go back to the hospital, where they will start me on a slow Oxytocin drip....and then the baby should come in the evening.

Middie will be with me during the labour, but the OBs will actually deliver the baby. Once the baby is born, I''ll be transferred back to the care of my middies. So, best of both worlds, really!
16.gif

This is SO not how I pictured my L&D to go...but I can''t really play "what if" at this point. The safe and timely delivery is the most important thing. Who knows, I could wait and wait and wait only to have a stalled labour, HUGE baby, meconium, higher chance of C-section and more difficult recovery. Why would that be better?

I kinda feel like Jerry Seinfeld....gotta leave on a high note
31.gif
.

So, me and my vag-balloon are going to hit the hay and get some sleep. Tomorrow''s a big day!!

Middie and I joked that next baby, her and I are going to run away to the forrest and deliver the baby there. haha.

G''night!
