Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Vizsla i love Maeve
30.gif
its beautiful! ive always loved the name Mae, and that you could use eve as well
36.gif
not to mention i think Maeve is pretty in its own right. I love those kinda old fashioned but not common names. Like Esme...that''s my grandmas name. And you could use Mae too right? But yes, old school but not un-pretty!

sorry to chime in out of nowhere on that front.

Mela i hope everything''s going good, cant wait to hear about your little one

Hey Cellososweet -- is everything going alright with you? Did you finally shake that fever?

Just wondering.

YAY MELA!!!!!! :-) I''m so excited. I have no vote because I think I''m always wrong. I just hope he/she is healthy smealthy :-) Good luck!

VR, thanks for checking in on me. I had a nightmare with the hospital. I went last Sunday after having a fever for 4 days and was basically sent off with cough syrup. Well, on Tuesday I passed out in my kitchen from a combo of what I''m thinking was my prolonged fever and not breathing very well. I went to the ER and go another dumb dumb who wanted to send me home. I ended up getting in an argument with the doctor. Full on yelling that I was not going home without treatment because I had a fever for 6 days straight at this point, I''m pregnant, I passed out, and I''m coughing so hard I haven''t slept more than 30 minutes in days.

She got really irritated with me and basically gave me blood work and a urine test to appease me (whatever). I got put on to another doctor who told me that the only thing that they can really do is to do a chest x-ray if I wanted one and would consent to one because even though I was really sick, nothing was coming up. I told him, well I''m pretty sure I have pneumonia and if you won''t treat it without a chest x-ray, then so be it, I''ll do the damn x-ray. I was really nervous thinking about all that I''ve put the baby through. The fever for 6 days, a few days of a class C drug (which was unecessary come to find out), and now a chest x-ray. The tech was really great about making sure the film was directly of my lungs and didn''t go any lower. I was wrapped in a billion of those protective things too. After they take the two shots, the tech asks if I want to look. I look at it and go "holy jesus my whole entire upper lobe, left and right, is compromised. I have pneumonia up the wazoo."

So finally I get an answer. The x-ray was absurd. I''ve read a bunch of x-rays, path reports, etc. during work and sometimes I see a pneumonia when I''m looking at an x-ray for something else, but my freakin'' lungs! Worse pneumonia I''ve ever seen.

Even my doctor said, "Wow, you have one heck of a raging pneumonia in your right lung. I''m surprised you can even breathe."

So, dumb dumb doctor comes back later and goes "You look great! I think you''ll be going home tonight." I said to her "I don''t know what planet you''re on, but I have pneumonia and I''m getting admitted." I told me new doctor that if she came near me again I was going to explode. I felt she was really overstepping her boundaries. I wasn''t her patient anymore, and she obviously didn''t have a clue what was going on. I kind of just wanted her to shrivel up and disappear. Haha. I know, so mean, but she was horrible and I wanted to punch her.

So, the fever finally broke after 7 days! I spent a couple of days in the hospital and now I''m just home trying to figure out how the hell I''m going to pay for things after taking 2 weeks off sick without pay. Joy!

I''m glad you finally got a correct diagnosis, and appropriate treatment.

And -- you showed remarkable restraint in how you told that doctor off.

I hope things go smoothly for you and the little one from here on out.

YAY for Mela and her bebe!!!! I think she probably wants to spill the beans herself but mom and baby appear to be doing well since she posted on FB!!!!! So excited for you Mela!!!!

How did you all find each other on FB anyways?
lol

I gave my info to Robbie on another site that allows for private messaging. And then one day I was going to write something to Robbie and noticed a familiar face (mela) so I added her. Those are the only two PS friends I have on FB. I can''t recognize anyone else
25.gif

No hints at all?

One of the first things I thought of this morning was, "I wonder if Mela's baby arrived!" Now I'm searching through friends of a PSers friends' facebook to see if I can catch a clue.
3.gif

ETA: No luck. Well, I'm glad Romeo/Luna is here safe and sound, and I'll be checking back for updates!

How did you all find each other on FB anyways?

Many of us found each other through other people we had met at GTG''s or things like that.

If I can think of a hint to find me that is discreet enough I will let you know...

Mela- Yay! Can''t wait to hear from you!

Fiery- I formally recognize your new identity, and honor the memory that was Fieryredlotsofnumbers.

Cello- Wow! What a bad misdiagnosis! So glad you stood your ground. Hope you are feeling better! I assume little one is ok, since you didn''t mention any complications. Whew!!!

i was hoping for a Mela update as well, but glad to hear that mama and baby are doing well.

Hi everyone!!

I''ve been following up all the posts but couldn''t post from my blackberry!.

I am so excited for Mela and can''t wait for her to come post too!!!!

We got back from our trip last night (went to Chicago for a wedding)....we had a great time and the weather was awesome!!!. My back is starting to kill me, this whole sleeping on the side thing is just not easy!. Did you all really stay off your back?. It is so hard!!. I got the Snoogle maternity pillow or something and used it for the first time last night...still I didn''t sleep all that great...

Anyway, hope you guys are doing wonderful!!!!!!!!!!

BrGirl - Welcome Alexander!!!!!!!
36.gif
he is so precious and beautiful!!!. Love that name, it''s currently on one of the top spots for one of the twins! (it''s smilar to DH''s name)

M~

mandarine, just wanted to say I slept on my back almost the whole time. In the beginning, I tried the side, but always ended up on my back. Then I used pillows wedged behind my back, maternity pillows--still ended up on my back and so uncomfy. So if you''re comfortable on your back, I think it''s generally ok. Sounds like you''re doing great!

brgirl- Alexander is absolutely adorable, and I love, love LOVE his name! Congratulations!

vizsla- The good thing about late sex determination is that it'll be more accurate than say, a reading at 14 weeks (or 12, like I had!).

NovemberBride- Good luck at your U/S today!

cello- You poor thing. I'm so sorry you had to go through that, but I'm glad you're back home and healing.

Yesterday, we bought and had the car seat installed! Our entire city seems to be out of Chicco Keyfits in neutral prints, so we went with a Graco Snugride. Big check off the list. I'm glad we had it done- the technician supplied a short piece of one of those long, noodley pool toys to jam underneath it on the seat. I wasn't even aware one was needed? Today, the hospital bag gets packed, minus a few last minute things.

How is everyone else this Monday morning?

ETA: Mandarine, I have a hard time sleeping on my side too, so I still sleep on my back but with my right side lifted. The Snoogle is under my right side, giving me just a little bit of a boost so I'm not flat on my back, but not completely on my side, either. Does that make sense? Another thing that's helped tremendously: a wedge pillow.

My doctor said to do whatever's most comfortable. If you're sleeping in a way that'd harm you or the baby, your body would give you plenty of warning.

Yay, Mela! So happy for you!!! Can''t wait to hear your birth story and see pictures! If pics are up on fbook they''re not showing up on my phone and it''s blocked at work

.

Cello, good thing you were assertive! I''d have gone off on the Dr. too. Glad you''re home now!

Congrats brgirl! Your little Alex is adorable!

Dreamer, think about how we all found each other here because of our common interests. Lots of sites have groups that are focused on the common interests of users

Sorry to anyone I forgot. I''ve been skimming a bit, but haven''t had time to reply. I''ve been crazy busy lately. Thanks for all the name suggestions! We still haven''t made any progress on that front, but it sounds like it''s common to doubt your choice as D-Day approaches. I can''t believe I''m down to 33 days til my due date!

35w2d

Mandy-I''m not sure if its different with twins but you can pretty much sleep on your back until late 20s (26 weeks or so). It''s the weight of the baby and all of its glory that makes sleeping flat on your back a no-no. I still sleep on my back though, I just sleep kind of sitting up (with 3 pillows). I can''t do the sides anymore otherwise she squirms and kicks all night and I find that sleeping sitting up helps relieve the heartburn I''m experiencing at night.

Mela, can''t wait to hear the update!

Fiery- I also acknowledge your condensed name!

Mandarine, I''ve been trying to sleep on my left side (which, ironically, I did pre-pregnancy nightly), but I wake up with a sore shoulder from that- despite the body pillow! My left legs falls asleep every time, too, which freaks me out. I suppose I''ll ask my doc at the 16w appointment next week.

Cello: I can''t believe you had to put up such a fuss (while being incredibly ILL while doing it) just to get some dang attention! Ridiculous.

Ebree, congrats on getting the car seat installed!

brgirl, congrats on the sneak attack labor, and the adorable baby!

snap! i''m sneaking a quick peek from my crap-ola of a work week and thought there would be an update.. only teasers.. no fair :)

tee hee.. blackpaw.. thanks!

ok, back to work.. boo hiss....

Yay Mela!!!!!!!!!!!!!
9.gif

So if I added this website to my list of hobbies or whatever for a few days on FB would you guys come find me? You would probably recognize me from my pic.

Thanks girls!

I asked my Dr and she said I should try, but maybe if it was hard I could just lift one side (I''m guessing like you mentioned EBree). I tried this but my back hurt more because it felt I was just in a weird not neutral position.

I feel very comfortable (so far) in my back...so maybe it''s not really necessary. I''m not sure if it''s different for twins...but if at 15 weeks I was measuring 20 weeks, then now who knows what I''m measuring...so the belly is definitely "heavy". I feel like maybe I''m hurting the LOs!...I feel better knowing I''m not the only one having a hard time. My siter says at one point I won''t be "able" to sleep on my back anymore because it will become uncomfortable, so I would naturally prefer my side. We will see!

Anywho...thank you very much!

hi all
35.gif
i''ve been VERY MIA on these boards because work has been hectic and then dealing with my 2 year old=exhausted. i hope everyone is feeling great and that the bellies are healthy and kicking. i''m 36 weeks now and VERY uncomfortable, but i stopped working last thursday. my dh "ratted" me out to the dr. he told him i was stressed and swollen and not sleeping well....plus i have been having dizzy spells from time to time...so the dr. gave me a "get out of work free'' note
9.gif
. now i''m relaxing at home until my daughter is born. we can''t agree on a name and last week i had a crying episode about how she''ll be nameless until she picks her own name at 3 years old like the skier..picaboo street
23.gif
he doesn''t like my names and i most certainly don''t like his....anyone else having this issue?

NYCSparkle-I was thinking of you the other day! So good too see you update. We don''t have a name either. There are two that I like: Brianna and Sophia but both were recently used by my friends (Sofia is 2 months old and Brianna is 3 weeks) so I don''t feel right using the name.

Ladies--I need your help with a decision.

My mom''s shower is on the 20th. I''ll be 36w5d. I, like a dum-dum, only thought about the comfort thing and completely forgot about the possibility of delivering early. I was thinking that as far as comfort goes, we''ll just stop every hour so that I can stretch. But my OB isn''t happy about me making this trip. She said she''ll make a final decision on where she stands after my first internal.

The problem is not so much the shower. I could care less about the shower to be honest. The thing is that my mom sounds so heartbroken about the possibility of me not being able to go. She is really excited about doing this for me and I would feel awful, as would she, if she couldn''t do it.

I don''t know what to do. I think this will be the only time I will hope for zero progress during an internal

***MELA UPDATE***

Hey Everyone, just wanted to post the message I just got from Mela:

"Hi robbie! I thought I'd get you to update the group ;). Romeo was born via emergency c-section after 11 hours of really complicated labour. I'm in the hospital for at least two more days, and cannot wait to get home so I can write out the birth story. We're all doing so well considering...now we just need to get him to nurse. Poor guy is having trouble b/c he has so much amniotic fluid in his tummy and lungs and keeps spitting up and choking. Awww. He's so so so cute (maybe I'm bias) and sooo little! He is a carbon copy of his daddy. Say hi to everyone! Thanks! Xo"

I would say I'm shocked that I was wrong, but I've been wrong about almost everyone, lol.

ETA: Congrats to Mela and hubby!

Yay for Mela and her Romeo
