Hurray for baby Romeo!!! Welcome to the world!

Well, I know I''ve officially popped because today an acquaintance said, "Oh! I didn''t know you were expecting," the male art teacher said, "Wow! You''ve really popped!" and a former student who was back visiting looked at my tummy and said, "Whoa!"

I had an anxiety dream about my U/S last night . . . the doctor couldn''t find the heartbeat on the doppler and told me very dismissively I''d lost the baby, then wouldn''t let me have an U/S to confirm, and I was stuck between trying to insist that I get one and not wanting to have one without DH present. It doesn''t help that tomorrow is the anniversary of my dad taking his life, so I think the fact that it was the same day of the week as the day he died (and the same school schedule and lessons) and the first day of the month had me upset as I went to bed. But I can''t shake the fear that something will be horribly wrong at my U/S on Wednesday. Argh. I think I''m going to ask DH to take me out for dinner tonight because I''d like to get out of the house and that usually relaxes me. It doesn''t seem right to go out tomorrow on the actual anniversary, although right and wrong is really just what I make it to be of course.

I really, really hope the U/S tells us the sex. How common is it for the technician to be unable to tell at 20 weeks?

YAY!!!! Congratulations Mela, Mr. Mela and Romeo!!!!!

Looking forward to seeing the little guy and hearing the birth story!

Congrats Mela, mr. Mela. Welcome baby Romeo. I can''t wait to hear your birthing story.

Congrats Mela, Mr. Mela and Romeo! I still can''t believe it is Romeo and not Luna :) I think I am always wrong at guessing the sex. I can''t wait to see pictures of the new little guy.

phoenix - I am pretty sure they will be able to tell the sex at 20 weeks. That is why most doctors wait until 20 weeks, because the chances of being able to tell at that point are pretty high. I''d be surprised if they couldn''t tell, unless the baby sits there with their legs crossed the entire time and blocks the money shot. Highly unlikely, though.

I had a doctor appointment on Friday, and was told I have an anterior placenta, which is probably why I can barely feel kicks at 23 weeks, and why I can''t hear the hartbeat with my home monitor. Oh well, I saw the little bugger, and doctor said he was looking good, so some of my anxienty has been relieved.

MELA, congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry that you had to have a c-section, but glad everything else is going well. I also always guess the sex wrong.

Can''t wait to see pics!

So cal gal, I also have anterior placenta (actually one is anterior and one is posterior) so I''m not expecting to feel anything for a while. However, we were easily able to hear both heartbeats on a home doppler, so maybe mine is positioned differently than yours. Are you using gel?

Peony - I just started feeling kicks at about 22 weeks, and they are pretty sporadic. Apparently the baby is breech right now, so it is kicking down into my cervix, which is oh so pleasant
1.gif
I am not using an actual rented doplar, but just some cheapy monitor you can buy at BRU that a friend is loaning to me.

Aww, no fun! Ours was also a cheapie that we borrowed from friends, but only used it from weeks 12-16 because we had to give it back when they moved. It may have been a "more expensive cheapie" than yours though. :) They said it was $40.

Congrats, Mela, and welcome to little Romeo!!! I''m sorry that your birth wasn''t what you were expecting, and I hope that both of you recover quickly and that he starts to nurse soon. My middie and ped weren''t terribly concerned that George wouldn''t latch until about 24 hours after birth, as apparently sometimes babies want to lick around a bit first - so hopefully it works itself out or you can get some really good help soon. I can''t wait to hear your story and see lots and lots of pictures.

Fiery (just Fiery) - you still sure that you can''t recognize anyone else? Check again.
2.gif
If you''ve forgotten my first name, I can repeat it again for you.

Cello - ugh. Feel better soon!

congrats MELA!!!! Can''t wait to see pics of little Romeo!!!!

awwwwwww, MELA! Congratulations on the arrival of your darling Romeo!

For the record, I''ve been right about all of my guesses so far! Though I usually only get a good feeling about the people that are finding out the gender at the birth, rather than by ultrasound (so I don''t guess those!)

Ah, I bet it''s one of the ones that''s not supposed to work til 3rd tri. I have an anterior placenta too and we''ve been able to find the hb since about 10 weeks if I remember correctly. We have a hi bebe doppler. I haven''t used it since I started feeling movement. I still think I feel less movement than those without an anterior placenta, but it gets to be a good thing when movement starts getting uncomfortable later on! Even the hardest kicks were never really that bad.

IceKid, I forget, did you ever make a guess for me?

Congrats Mrs and Mr Mela, cant wait to see baby Romeo

Congratulations to Mela!!! I was wrong again. I thought for sure that little one was a Luna. Haha. I''m just keeping up with my record of always (ALWAYS!!) guessing wrong.

Rest up, momma!!!

Speaking of searching others out. I must be the worst at that, too. Finally found Robbie, but no clue how to send her a message. I have been looking and looking, and to no avail. Tried looking for hobbies (??) on the networking site and I have no clue how to do that, either.

Pathetic.

Yay Mela! I knew it was a boy! Some day we should have an Ontario GTG and let Hunter and Romeo play (aka stare at each other

How did you all find each other on FB anyways?

Dreamer: If you can remember (or find!) who my wedding photographer is and can search her business out on FB I am one of her fans. And the boys are my avatar.

and a VERY belated congrats to PANDORA
and BRGIRL!!

i''ve been VERY MIA lately...sorry!!!

quick suggestion....tell me what you think...
for facebook, we could create a "pricescope" group. it could be a "closed group" (Admins must approve requests for new members to join. Anyone can see the group description, but only members can see the Wall, discussion board, and photos.) people wanting to join must have like >100 posts or something on pricescope and could tell their ps screen name to the admins when requesting to join?

don''t know if that would work or not....

Just an FYI - LIA''s idea has been brought up before and the moderators here didn''t really like it. Posting usernames on other sites is also not allowed per the forum rules, but sometimes people use the same name on different sites which makes it easier to stumble across them. That''s how I found some people. GTGs also help.

She has a business page as well-you should be able to see her "fans" that way. Her first name and then "Photography".

LOL...i knew it seemed too easy to have not been done before! would they still oppose if usernames weren''t actually posted (just emailed to the group admins when asking to join)?
