Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Mela...Romeo is just as adorable as I knew he''d be! He looks so content..sleeping away! I love both pics...keep em coming!
28.gif

I hope you''re heeling well from the C-section. I had one (2nd child..the 11 pounder) and it really wasn''t as bad as many had told me it would be! Took two weeks, then I was hauling laudry baskets and groceries up and down stairs again! Enjoy being taken care of and pampered by your family/friends.

Phoenix, I loooove Clare and Chloe!

Middle names: Marie, Lauren/Laura/Laurel, Olivia, Hannah,Charlotte, Alice?

Mela - congrats again! What a cutie.
30.gif
I look forward to hearing your whole story.

Phoenix - Congrats on a girl!!! And how odd. I''ve been thinking about the name Dorothy a lot lately, for no real reason. I really like the alternative form Dorothea, and the meaning ("gift of God") and roots are the same as the name Theodora - which I love! I feel like both of those names would flow better as a middle name for Clare if you want to honor Dorothy. I prefer Clare to Chloe - my dog''s named Chloe and it''s gotten a lot more tired feeling after saying it again and again than most names feel after I keep repeating them, if that makes any sense at all! (Probably not.
3.gif
) I Although I always like family connections. But Clare just seems fresh and light - haha - and classic.

Peeing didn''t let off for me until after George was here.

Congratulations mela!!

Mela- Romeo is just an absolute doll. He is so precious. So thrilled for you

Clare Genevieve
Clare Juliet
Clare Vivienne
Clare Rebecca

OMG Mela! Romeo is perfect!!

Congrats!

Phoenix - Congrats on having a girl!

Indypitty and Sunkist - Still no bump after 13 weeks + ?! Wow. I already have one at 10 weeks, just a tiny little one.

10 weeks for me today, and I have a bad cold.
14.gif
I hope to feel better soon... Anyone experienced back pain this early in the pregnancy? It''s so bad it''s keeping me awake at night. I''m going to see my doctor next week and I''ll talk to him about that, but do you ladies have any tips?

Anchor, is it muscular or is it the two little knobby things right above your butt? The knobby things are part of your pelvis and they gave me problems pretty early on up until 3rd tri I think. If that''s what it is, look up spd. There are exercises you can do to help it. Pelvic rocking and cat stretches helped me.

*MELA!!!* Romeo is gorgeous. There is no way that a Luna could have been any more precious. I''m so excited for you. He''s a doll baby!!

How are you feeling? I hope each day is a little less painful for you.

Thank you for sharing the pictures. Swoon. Romeo, Romeo....

MElaRomeo is a realy cutie pie! Yay for boys! Can''t wait to hear your story!

Congrats to Mela and Fabienne!

Sunkist - I''m with you at this point ~ still without a bump! I''ll be 13 weeks on Friday, so you''re a few weeks ahead of me, but I thought I would at least have a teeny bump by now!

I have a question about peeing. I know that frequent urination is a common sympton of the first trimester, but many things I''ve read say it decreases at the beginning of the second trimester and returns in the third. In the past week or so (since about 11 - 12 weeks), I have had to pee even more! Has anyone else not had the frequent urination go away???

IndyP, I''m 15w4d and at work today I felt like I had to pee everytime I stood up... it can get to be a drag, haha! So I have not seen it decrease yet :)

AND! re: baby-bump, today I actually think I might see something!!!! I''ll contribute on BPF and you can see if there''s something there

Mela congrats! Romeo is a doll, sooo precious! Give him a good snuggle for all of us

Anchor hope you can find something out about your back pain.

Mela Romeo is GORGEOUS! Congrats Mama!! Please let me know (prob. FB/email is best because we are visiting my parents) if you have any c-section recovery questions. Go give that little guy a big snuggle for me!

Aw Mela, Romeo is just dreamy!

Hope your recovery is going well, can''t wait for the birth story!

I''m still in shock. When we woke up this morning, I insisted that we think of a boy name so that, in what I believed was all likelihood, when they said it was a boy, I wouldn''t feel disconnected to this baby. So we came up with Christopher Thomas after our dads, and went off content to our appointment and actually kind of looking forward to hearing we were having a little Christopher Thomas (even though all along we both had a preference for a girl).

So then it''s a girl, and I feel this urgent need to pick a name! We are split between Chloe and Clare. We both like Clare a little better, but we can''t think of a good middle name (I think Chloe Grace is very pretty, but I keep getting stuck on Clare . . . ), and Chloe was my late father''s mother''s name, so it would be a way to still honor my dad. Plus my sister, who is having a girl three weeks before me, has left it on the table since she and my brother have already used three good family names up. But as long as my sister doesn''t mind, I think we could name this baby Clare [whatever] and then name the next baby Chloe Grace or Christopher Thomas.

So does anybody have any suggestions for a middle name for Clare? Our last name begins with L and is Scandinavian. Anything that ends with an L sound like Evelyn or Emily is out as a result. Ideally it''d have three or four syllables, definitely not one. Two might be ok. Elizabeth is out too since that was my middle name before I got married and I''ve never liked it and DH doesn''t like it either, although I do think it flows better than most of the names we''ve come up with.

We like classical names, and I wouldn''t mind sticking with a French name for the middle name, although I realize that we''re not going with the French spelling of Claire. We plan to buy a condo in Paris one day!

Clare Amelia
Clare Sophia
Clare Alexandra

None of these jump out at me, but they''re kind of along the lines of what I''m trying to come up with.
Hi ladies, delurking to suggest a middle name. What about Claire Cherie *pronounced sheree*. Ok, I am biased, it''s my own middle name, but it sounds kinda French and goes nicely with Clare.

Phoenixgirl ~

I second Ebree''s suggestion of Clare Vivienne (Vivian, Vivien). I think it sounds lovely! Very French, three syllables, no "L" sound... If we have a girl, I hope to use the name as a first name, as long as DH is on board!

I also like Clare Elise. Only two syllables, though...

That''s exactly it, thank you Robbie! I''ll look it up.

Mela, Romeo is sooo sweet! Congrats!

Phoenixgirl, congrats on the baby girl news!

Hi Ladies
35.gif

Mela-Don''t be shy with posting pictures of Romeo. I''m sure none of us will mind.

My goal is to get all the mommies to post as many pictures of their babies as possible

Nothing over here. We had a mandatory fire drill today. It was supposed to be yesterday but they moved it to this morning. What a disaster and it was so hot
14.gif
.

I really, really want a mango right now so much so that I can taste it. I need to remember to bring one in next time.

Hello beautiful ladies!!!

Not much going on here....I slept like a rock last night. Went to the guest room because DH was snoring way too loud!!...oh how I wish he didn''t snore, I think by the time we''re 40 we''ll be sleeping in separate rooms! haha.

I have started to get this kind of burning sensation right on the top of my bump....is that normal?.

Fiery, Today the weather is just horrible!!! So hot and humid! I almost died when I went to walk my dog!
14.gif
. I hate fire drills!. You made me want a mango too!!!
18.gif

Glad I could help, Anchor! The knobby things on my back generally don''t bother me anymore, but the front center of my pelvis is really tender. I want to cry out every time they measure my fundal height because they press on it.

Fiery, I don''t even like mango, but that sounds good right now.

I have an appointment in an hour and a half. Our doula is coming with us and we''ll be presenting the birth plan to Dr #2. I''m thinking my GBS test will either be today or next week. I''m anxious to have it over with and have the results. I want to know if I''m going to need antibiotics during labor or not since this would change how long I''ll be able to labor at home for. I''ve been having a bunch of BH contractions and cramps lately. I wonder if they''ll do an internal. Even though I know they don''t really tell you anything about when you''ll go into labor, I''d still be interested to know if these contractions are doing anything. I''m guessing they''re not, but I''m curious all the same.

We're definitely going to need some more photos of Romeo around here. Two simply aren't enough.
2.gif

Robbie- I'm seeing an OB so things are probably a bit different, but at my 35 week appt. yesterday, I got an internal (ouch!) and the GBS test. I've also been having quite a few BH contractions and some mildly painful cramps, and my doctor said his head was deep in my pelvis, so it seems they've been doing something! Do you know your baby's position?

35 weeks today! We've still got so much more to do in the nursery. Feet/ankles/calves are swollen as heck (as usual), and my appetite is still raging. I'm going to take some belly pics today so I'll have something to share tomorrow.

ETA: I had dinner last night with a few friends that have toddlers, and they taught me several 'baby signs.' Mom, Dad, Milk, Eat, More, etc. It was very cool. I love that sign language can be used to communicate with babies before they're able to speak, and I'm excited to try it with our little guy.

I am very interested in this. Does anybody know any links to more information? What is the official description 'baby sign language'?

Edit: Wikipedia to the resue; sign language in infants was a hit. Very interesting.....

Congrats Ebree on 35 weeks! Or in bump world 35/35!
3.gif

Sign language: My former Sr. Director swears by this. She even taught her daughter how to say please before asking and thank you. It''s actually a really cool concept and I''m interested in it as well. I think it helps eliminate some of the frustrations toddlers feel when they can''t fully communicate what they want.

Did you mean you''re not seeing an OB or did you just think that I was seeing a middie since I kept flip flopping about switching to one? We didn''t end up switching, so if you have an OB I''m guessing our appointments are pretty similar. The Dr. palpated my tummy last appointment and said the baby was head down and had begun to drop which was why I was measuring about 2 weeks behind. I feel like my belly is lower this week so I wonder if I''ll be measuring even more behind.

Congrats on 35 weeks! My appetite is raging as well. I''m a bottomless pit lately. One of my pregnancy emails told me this week that weight gain will probably start to slow now. Uh, not at my last appointment and after all the food I''ve been shoveling in, I''m guessing not at this one either. Oh well.

Can''t wait to see your new belly pics!

Off to my appointment!

fiery and Robbie- Thank you for the congrats! fiery, you''re almost there too, right?

Robbie- I must be confused- I thought you were seeing a midwife. I think the GBS test might be done closer to 36 weeks, but my doctor is out of town next week and since it''s just two simple swabs, she did it yesterday. You''ll probably have it done today since you''re almost there.

I cannot keep up with all these threads but wanted to pop in about sign. There was a thread a while back (I'll try to find it). Many of us older mommies used it. I know Co, Brady and Tayva for sure (T didn't take to it very well). There is some research that it can cause babies vocal communication to slow since they can sign what they want. I don't know what I think about that. I used a Baby Einstein DVD to help teach T.

Robbie and Ebree~I ran out of room for food the last few weeks. I got full very quickly. I think that is why I quit gaining in the end.

Congrats to all the newly preggos and to those who are/have found out the sex of the baby lately! SO fun!
