Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Ahhh, Mela, you are making me want another teeny tiny boy SO bad. He is delicious!

Wow, he is tall, but definetly not a huge baby for 41 weeks. He''s just puuurrrfect !!!

Mela, Romeo is a doll! Congratulations! So glad that everyone made it through ok and can''t wait to hear all about it!

Awe, Mela, so perfect!!! So angelic!

Congrats Steph, and welcome!

So excited for our fearsome foursome who will be finding out soon...any guesses as to what you''re having?

My brains feel like they are going to start bleeding out of my brains...I''ve been grading finals all morning. I have one more section of essays and one more class to take a final tomorrow. And my back is killing me and my feet are ridiculously swollen.

Anyone else with swollen feet, does it go down or are you regularly swollen at this point?

MELA!!!!!! Romeo is absolutely ADORABLE!!!!
30.gif
Congratulations!

Indy-Mr. Fiery says that I don''t sleep anymore, I just nap in between peeing. I''m literally up four to five times a night. I had a rare night the other day when I only woke up once but yesterday was back to normal.

Sabine-I forgot to say Yay to no more school! As for the swollen feet, I''m swollen every day but it does go down. Over the weekend my feet were so normal that it kind of freaked me out haha. What helps is a day of being off of my feet (sitting/napping). I got espom salt (sp?) but it doesn''t do much to help me. I heard it works well for others.

awwww Mela!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peony My big u/s is next Monday!!!!! I can''t wait
36.gif
. It''s a the peri''s office so the peri will come in too and then I have my monthly check-up with her. The good thing is that both by OB and my Peri are part of the same office group so they can see all the u/s''s regardless of where I have them done...so when I go see the peri, she reviews the bi-weekly ones. I''m wondering why it''s so different between my Dr and yours...since I know you don''t get that many u/s. Both OBs I saw wanted me seeing a peri every month + bi-weekly u/s''s for the cervix lenght.

***

In some me news, I just got back from the OB''s office for the monthly check-up. Got to hear the HBs, which never gets old!. Also got my second blood test done, so we''ll get the results in the next couple of weeks or so. The OB said they adjust the results for twins, so they are still "fairly" accurate....who knows, at least the nuchal test was good, so I''m not letting anything worry me.

So guess what!?...I haven''t gained 20 lbs, I''ve gained 17 lbs!....so a day shy from 18 weeks and I''m really right on track to the 20 by 20 weeks! (as it''s "recommended").
36.gif
36.gif
. I never thought I would be happy to say I gained 17 lbs, but I''m happy
9.gif

Dr recommended I start doing some sort of water exercises for the back pain...and also to get a belt/brace to help with the back pain. Does anyone have one? do they really work?

M~

So even though it''s not Friday...
I want to celebrate the 17 and not 20 lbs!! so here is a pic from last night with the "bump"
Sorry for the messy hair and greasy face, we were just back from the gym!

OK, so I have crap for women''s intuition because IT''S A GIRL!!!!!!

First I thought it was twins, then I was pretty sure it was a boy . . . but nope, she''s definitely a girl, and she''s swimming and squirming around in there quite merrily. DH got really teary; it was cute. He says I''ll still be his "favorite girl," but I don''t know! We have been joking recently about the movie Overboard when Goldie Hawn tells her rich mother that her husband (the icky one from the beginning) wants to have a baby, and her mom says, "But if you have a baby, you won''t be the baby any more!"

My sister called me this morning upset that she''d gained 22 pounds at her 24 week appointment, but I have gained 19 by 20 weeks so I am on track to surpass her (I gained 7 right away, then gained modestly for 6 weeks, then have gained 8 in the last 4 weeks!) But the doctor''s office weighed me for the first time after I had gained 7, so they think I''ve gained a moderate 12 pounds. My mom told me just not to tell them about the "secret 7 pounds."
31.gif
And I know it''s in my butt and thighs because my maternity pants I bought a couple of months ago when I just needed something to go over the bloat are getting too tight there.

mela, Romeo is beautiful!

phoenixgirl, congrats! My intuition was wrong too.

Can't wait to hear your story. Hope you're feeling well. We miss you already.

Sunkist, Amber, Peony, November- Exciting about the big u/s. Sunkist, we found out at 16 weeks, so 19 weeks should be fine, unless the little one is uncooperative.

Amber- I'm opposite, I love surprises and refuse to go anywhere near any possible presents. I so could have waited to find out, but DH really wanted to know and I figured since he's kind of on the outside of this whole thing, it was something I could do for him. I have really loved knowing, it has been easier for me. Not necessarily feeling connected, but more just easier to visualize actually having a baby. And the planning part is way easier. However, DH's mom just told us that his cousin just had a baby and they were told it was a boy, had it confirmed at a few u/s, and yep, it was a GIRL! DH and I have been talking girl names again, just in case. I think that would be really funny, and I'd be thrilled either way. But what a mind f***!!!

Are any of the newly preggos- 20 weeks girls NOT finding out?

Phoenix- Aww, yay for a sweet baby girl. I think it's about time we had another girl around here, we've had a major boy boom!

Peony- Our 2 year anniversary is June 9th!!!!
36.gif

Peeing: Hmmm, mine did seem to taper off a bit during the 2nd trimester. And don't hate me but I don't really get up at night- maybe once at 5 or 6 am to pee. I do pee a TON during the day.

NYCSparkle- Don't stress!!!!!! Why are you more stressed with the second? You're gonna be fine and you will find a name for your little girl. Funny story, someone I knew had a name picked for their little girl, then got her home and just decided that the name they picked just didn't fit her. So the hospital gave them 24 hrs and they came up with a new name.

ETA: Mandarine, your lil' bump is adorable! You look great.

Thanks Dani!!!!!!

Mela I think Romeo has your profile! (although I don''t know our DH''s profile), but he is Melalicious!!!!!!!!!!!

I''m still in shock. When we woke up this morning, I insisted that we think of a boy name so that, in what I believed was all likelihood, when they said it was a boy, I wouldn''t feel disconnected to this baby. So we came up with Christopher Thomas after our dads, and went off content to our appointment and actually kind of looking forward to hearing we were having a little Christopher Thomas (even though all along we both had a preference for a girl).

So then it''s a girl, and I feel this urgent need to pick a name! We are split between Chloe and Clare. We both like Clare a little better, but we can''t think of a good middle name (I think Chloe Grace is very pretty, but I keep getting stuck on Clare . . . ), and Chloe was my late father''s mother''s name, so it would be a way to still honor my dad. Plus my sister, who is having a girl three weeks before me, has left it on the table since she and my brother have already used three good family names up. But as long as my sister doesn''t mind, I think we could name this baby Clare [whatever] and then name the next baby Chloe Grace or Christopher Thomas.

So does anybody have any suggestions for a middle name for Clare? Our last name begins with L and is Scandinavian. Anything that ends with an L sound like Evelyn or Emily is out as a result. Ideally it''d have three or four syllables, definitely not one. Two might be ok. Elizabeth is out too since that was my middle name before I got married and I''ve never liked it and DH doesn''t like it either, although I do think it flows better than most of the names we''ve come up with.

We like classical names, and I wouldn''t mind sticking with a French name for the middle name, although I realize that we''re not going with the French spelling of Claire. We plan to buy a condo in Paris one day!

Clare Amelia
Clare Sophia
Clare Alexandra

None of these jump out at me, but they''re kind of along the lines of what I''m trying to come up with.

mela Romeo is precious!! Congrats!!!

Mandarine-You still look tiny and wonderful to me!

Phoenix-Yay for team pink! This place was getting a little too blue

Mandy--
You look great.
Can''t believe how tiny you are for carrying twins.
Yay for the 17 lb gain. (I gained that much for a singleton)

Pheonix--
yay for team pink!

Wow! Phoenix congrats on team pink!! I can''t remember what I guessed for you.

Mandarine, that bump looks adorable.

Thanks for the cortisone tips, it itches soooo much less now.

Okay, so supposedly you''re supposed to be exhausted in first tri, along with the nausea. I''m not so nauseous as I was a week ago, but MAN I''m exhausted. First tri I just slept well (not trying to rub it in, promise), now at 15w3d I''m wiped when I get home. I get a ride to work, sit at a desk all day, get a ride home, and plop onto the couch, but STILL need a nap and then sleep through the night. What''s that all about?

Peeing: (ah, the glorious preggo discussions) I noticed I pee less at night, but when I get up in the morning it HURTS I have to pee so badly. Since I sit all day I don''t notice I have to pee until I stand up. I DO pee a lot more when I get home, though, even without consuming any liquids.

Sorry if I miss anyone!

Congrats on joining team pink!!! I love the name Clare. My dad''s mom was Claire. What about these for a middle name:

Arianna
Amara
Simone
Madeline

Mandarine, you look great!

Thank you NYC! Well, when I say gym I mean I got on the treadmill for like 25 minutes, nothing crazy! hehehe. Sorry about the swelling!!!....almost there though!

Mandarine, yay for the positive weight gain! You look great!

Phoenix, congrats for TEAM PINK!!!! I like your middle name suggestions for Clare (and I like Clare a little better than Chloe, more classic!), and I wanted to throw out one more...Clare Amanda.

Thanks Amber!!!. I''ve been exhausted since Day 1...still waiting for the 2nd trimester burst of energy!!!

Thank you Robbie and Sabine!!! !

uhhh me likey Clare Arianna

Mandarine, I know, when am I supposed to get energized? Over Memorial Day I spent 48 hours as a zombie and only perked up the last day. I guess this second trimester energy thing is just going to pass me by!

Chinacat, yes, I wanted a girl so much that I was trying so hard to gear up for a boy. It's not that I never want a son . . . I just look at the couples with two kids where both of them are boys and can't see myself as the lone girl in a house full of boys. DH wanted a little girl too. And I really bought into that whole Taking Charge of Your Fertility thing, so I thought boy odds were pretty high.

Thanks for the middle name suggestions, ladies, and feel free to throw anything into the mix! I have told DH that it's his job to suggest a winning middle name since he is pulling for Clare more than I am, but I'm trying to help him out a little too.

DH suggested Dorothy, which I don't really love as a name, but it's my mom's name, and it's not terrible with Clare. So that's a consideration, but it just doesn't have that ring to it of a "Chloe Grace," ya know, where you want to say the first and middle names together just because they're cute?

So many good names have that darn L sound at the end! Madeline, Isabel, Isabella, Kimberly, Amelia, Caroline, etc. Isabella and Amelia might be ok, but anything that ends in L or "lin" or "line" does not sound good with our last name. Darn last name has four consonants in a row (the final one being an L, in addition to starting with L) so I am just wary of the Ls! We were calling our baby "Larry" as a joke before we knew it was a girl because it sounds so wretched with our last name!

P.S. Wedding rings are tight. Yikes! Luckily I saved my original wedding band in a larger size when I got sized down, and I have an heirloom three stone ring (sapphire in the middle with two old cut diamonds on the sides) to wear with it. I know I've just got to let it go, but I really didn't want to be that woman who gets too fat to wear her wedding rings at less than 5 months!
